I came here using my groupon I purchased the week prior for $30 worth of food. I checked out the menu before me & my bf came to visit. When we arrived we informed the hostess we would like to dine in. 1) the menu is not like the one online, prices are about $3-4 higher for everything and the 3 course meal doesn't include soup or salad if you opt for the cornbread. Our food was just ok, I had BBQ jerk chicken, NOT spicy at all, mac & cheese was mediocre, and corn can't really mess that up, rice & beans no flavor this was $18 I would never pay more than $8 for this and that's only because the portion was decent. My bf had jerk chicken, no spice at all the waitress told us it was a mild batch, I think we should have been informed prior to ordering. He also had jams which were pure sugar. Everything is already made and sitting in warmers. You would have to come as soon as they open to get fresh food or get seafood which they do make to order. If you're looking for a good carribean meal this is NOT the place, overpriced, mediocre, and the staff isn't professional. The bathroom was clean. We will not be returning.

What an embarrassingly terrible dining experience. I had such high hopes for this place, it being so close to where I work and supposedly so vegetarian friendly... We purchased the $25 for $50 Groupon largely because the menu that the deal linked to included an extensive vegetarian menu (I am a strict, life-long vegetarian). The linked website guaranteed (as did the menus in the restaurant) that all the vegetarian platters had no animal products at all. We made sure to make it very clear that everything needed to be vegetarian to our waitress, who was inattentive and unfriendly the entire evening. The place is also billed as BYOB, but they did not have any bottle openers for the beer we brought. The waitress did reluctantly say that someone in the back might have a way to open it, but didn't actually get it for us, instead just stood unsmiling as my boyfriend struggled to open his beer with a key (finally succeeding with a bottle of my nail polish). After waiting over an hour for our food, with only a basket of messy cornbread (with no napkins, plates or silverware) and water (after having to ask for it no less than three times), we finally got our food... and in my meal, I found a piece of meat. I had my non-vegetarian boyfriend taste it to be sure. I brought it to the waitress' attention, and she hardly gave an apology, just said off-hand she would tell the cook. She never came back to apologize or give any offer of restitution whatsoever. I was so upset by this and sickened that I was unable to finish my food, or even use the full amount of the Groupon for dessert as we had planned. We ended up only using $35.90 of the $50 amount. The food that I tried was not bad, but the experience was just one awful straw after another, and the final one was when our waitress just stared us down as we were calculating tip and such on the full amount (which of course we always do with a Groupon)... I actually had to ask her to leave and give us some time. It was uncomfortable, unsettling, and dishonest at best. I am so disappointed... it would have been so amazing to have even a mediocre vegetarian-friendly restaurant so close to my job, and to have a place to take my vegetarian family, but they have certainly lost any hope of getting the business I was so ready to bring them.

During my drive from north to south, I'm taking the opportunity to try some restaurants I've heard about through various mediums. This is stop 2 of the day. First, the service was very good. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. He deserves 5 stars. Second, the take out is less expensive than eating in the restaurant. If you decide to sit in the establishment you are charged more. If you must try this place, get it to go! Oh yeah, and it's BYOB restaurant. We both (my travel and foodie buddy) ordered the oxtails meal which came with 3 sides. I ordered mash potatoes, mac and cheese, and green beans. My friend sides were collards, plantains, and rice and beans. For $19.99 a plate we each received 8 oxtails. They were tough. The gravy the oxtails were served with was very tasty. It made the mash potatoes and beans & rice edible. We both asked for extra gravy, which our server happily supplied. The green beans tastes canned. I don't like plantain, so I didn't try them but my friend said they were mushy. The collards had a strong peppery flavor and I have nothing against spicy food. We ordered jerk chicken wings for our starter. The wings were dry and lacked the kick of jerk flavor. I put the gravy on them to make make them better, it didn't work. The jiffy mix corn bread was complimentary and dry. The idea of toasting the corn bread with butter is good but the execution was bad. We decided to pass on the $5.95 glass of lemonade and opted for water. Overall the waiter made this a good experience. The food was sub par and not better than the Caribbean food in my own city. Glad I tried, but not again.

Love the ambiance, very unexpected. The corn bread, garlic spinach and jerk chicken were delish! Staffs are very nice too! Would definitely come back!

I love the food and the dine in atmosphere but the convenience of the carryout and the fact that they deliver is awesome.

The food was amazing. I was most impressed with the presentation of the platter. I ordered the Jerk Chicken platter. I like the fact they put the meat on the side. The amount of food was perfect for the price. This place is rather far from my home but it will be worth every ounce of my gas to satisfy my appetite.

It isn't very expensive. The portions are large. The food definitely has the ability to sustain life until the next meal. I'm a little bit mad because they didn't have any beef patties when I arrived but perhaps it was a fluke thing. I had the jerk chicken platter with mixed vegetables and a lemonade. The jerk chicken was a little light on the heat factor but it was counteracted by decent mixed vegetables and acceptable rice. I am ambivalent with regards to Caribbean Feast restaurant.

The food and the prices are very nice. The ultimate feast is fatness reincarnated. For about $15 you get to choose 3 meats (curry goat, curry chicken, stewed chicken, oxtail, jerk chicken) and that comes with 3 entrees and 3 sides. This is the ultimate combination platter for most Jamaican places. However, this restaurant seriously lacks on the side of service and consistency. -1 star cause they pick and choose when they want to deliver and when they want to close. And it never seems to be the times advertised on their menu. -1 star because they almost never have the sides you want when you want them which is pretty aggravating when you've got your mouth set on some macaroni and cheese and they're telling you very unapologetically "we don't have that". And after you hear a round of 3 or 4 "we don't have thats," you won't even want to eat here anymore.

I don't have a ton of experience with Caribbean food, so was happy to go along with some coworkers to Caribbean Feast for lunch. We originally were going to eat in but we learned that there is a $5-$7ish increased price on everything on the menu compared with the takeout price, which is a "service charge." We decided to take out instead. I got a jerk chicken platter with rice & peas and plantains. It was the small size and a TON of food, I can't imagine even attempting a large. The chicken was delicious - spicy but not too spicy, and the skin was crispy and delicious. Plantains were great. The rice & peas were eh - tasted a bit on the old and mushy side. A good meal overall. I'm not sure I would travel to eat at Caribbean Feast, but it is a great option if you find yourself meandering around Temple Hospital.

The one time I went it was super crowded so I left,,, when I ordered they took very long, they gave me the wrong food and I was not pleased with the taste,,,, really didn't see what all the hype was about, I've had better Jamaican/Caribbean food at little hole in the wall places, totally not worth your time or money!

Ordered take out from this place this past Sunday. I had heard it is good but that the wait time is prolonged. It definitely met my expectations. I ordered the Jerk chicken with plantains and rice. Delicious! It was the perfect amount of food and it was relatively cheap for the quantity and quality of the food. I tried the corn bread and it was to die for. Since I had heard about the significant wait times, I ordered relatively early. We did have a large group order but it took approximately 1 1/2 hours for the food to be delivered and I work pretty much next door to the place. I highly recommend this place. If you want to try something new and different, this is a great place to try. If you are going to order takeout, order very early and expect a long prep/delivery time until the food arrives. I will definitely order from this place again. Just be wary that it is not in the best neighborhood.

Let me start by saying that I read the bad reviews of this resturant and do not agree. I went here on a Sunday afternoon with a Groupon that we purchased. Our party totaled 4 people. I was a bit aprehensive after reading some negative reviews about the service and neighborhood. The neighborhood is not that great but its right off of Broad Street and we did not feel threatened at any time. When we arrived the take out line was backed up out the door almost. It did take a few minutes to seat us,but they were overwhelmed with orders (A good sign) After we were seated it took a few minutes for our orders too be taken due to the high volume of customers. But, that was ok..we wanted some time to go over the menu. We all ordered the 3 course combos. All the food was INCREDIBLE!! We go to Jamaica annually and we all agreed that their jerk chicken was better than a famous jerk shack in Jamaica named "Scotchie's" that everyone raves about. The waitress was very helpful and attentive. The owner came out twice to check on us and the dining room was clean and neat. Even though this is almost a 45 minute drive for us , we will definitely be repeat customers !!!

Like most Jamaican restaurants - slow service, out of stuff, etc. They have a huge menu, but apparently never serve half of what's on it. However, the half they do serve(assuming they have it) is tasty. We got jerk BBQ chicken that was not very spicy but was very flavorful, nicely charred. The sides are the best part. The collard greens are colorful and perfect, the cabbage yummy, the sweet potatoes toothache sweet and the okra stew very fresh tasting (although probably frozen, actually). It seems relatively clean and it's next to the hospital so the block isn't too sketchy. All in all, I'll probably come back because it's a quick drive from Fishtown without having to go downtown and deal with parking.

Caribbean Feast catered a birthday party for us for about 50 people. We had jerk chicken, rice and beans, greens, and mac and cheese. The owner (very friendly and thorough) delivered the food himself, right on time. Everything was absolutely delicious, and all of the guests were raving about it. I'm really glad we chose to go with this restaurant for our event's food, and would def. recommend them to others for catering--some of our guests already asked for the restaurant's info, and we passed it along.

This place is pretty darn good, and reasonably priced for some quality Jamaican food. Granted, the restaurant is located in North Philly---probably not known for being the safest areas of Philadelphia---but if you're happening to stop by Temple Hospital for any reason, you can take a quick walk down a block or so to pick up some good food. I recommend the Jerk Chicken and the Ox Tail; both dishes are perfectly spiced and generously portioned. The mixed rice with beans is cooked quite well, and it may just be me, but their fried plantains are quite good. The place was just recently rebuilt after an unfortunate fire, and the interior is actually pretty decent for a place in North Philly. Did I mention the prices are good? Great quality food for great prices. I'm a cash-strapped student, so I know if I can afford a meal here, you probably can, too. I've got to be honest though, this is not some place you would go on a date or even to just chill for dinner with some friends. North Philly is unkind to the naive and faint of heart. My recommendation is call ahead and order, and drop by to pick it up. Of course, common sense dictates that you do so during daylight hours. So, taking only the food into consideration, I'd be hard pressed to give this place any less than four stars for its combination of great food, great prices, and large portions.

Where do i begin , the food was horrible. that baked mac & cheese was watery , the rice was hard smh & the jerk chicken this place need help , like a need "cook "it's super dark inside , they could never get my money ever again .. As a disclaimer, this review is just MY (and my dining partner's) experience. I don't want to be unnecessarily harsh, but I do want to be honest. I first learned about Caribbean Feast through the Caribbean Nights event featured on Yelp. It seemed like it would be for a good cause and I do love me some Caribbean cuisine, so I thought, why not? Well, let's start with the service. I think our waiter was in, like, middle school. He looked young and seemed really new to this whole thing. Not that I had a problem with this, but I guess it explains some of the other kinks of the night. He kept coming over and asking how we were, even when we were still waiting for our order to come out. What could we say to the fifth time he came over when we were just sitting there with an unopened bottle of wine, a couple of empty wine glasses and an empty table in front of us? According to the menu, dinner entrees come with soup or salad and bread, but after about half an hour with nothing (not even water), our waiter came up to us and asked us, "Do you want some salad or bread or something?" Bewildered, we said yes to the salad, which was pretty crisp and fresh. Oh yeah, speaking of wine. It's a BYOB. But you may want to bring your own corkscrew. Either that or a screwtop. Is there nothing more frustrating than being incredibly thirsty and having a bottle of wine in front of you, but nothing to open it with? After about two hours of "We're still looking for the corkscrew," our waiter finally came and told us that he could open up our bottle. After we were finished with our entrees. Props to the lady who reminded the waiter that we still had a wine bottle that needed to be opened. But all that's ancillary to what I REALLY care about: the food. Let me say, this place has the BEST corn bread I've ever had, hands down. I'd even come up here to grab a platter of corn bread and skedaddle back home. God, what do they make that with? A skillet? There's gotta be some sorcery at work here. That corn bread alone warrants a whole additional star. The portion sizes are generous; all the customers I saw eventually got takeout boxes. I was a little disappointed that my jerk shrimp and some of our side orders were drowned in a pool of oil when I received it. It was a bit difficult to taste the jerk spices around the oiliness, but once you get past that, you've got that spicy, smoky, distinctly Jamaican flavor. Juiciness can be difficult to accomplish with jerk chicken, but this place nails it. Would I come back? Maybe for takeout. Or that corn bread. But the service here was way too sketchy for me to come back for a sit-down meal; seems like made-to-order food is not their forte.

I've been here a few times, the food is great, but the service is AWFUL. On my last visit, I ended up waiting an hour for my platters, because the cashier forgot to tell the cook to make my food. I swear it's always something when I come here. The shortest wait time I've endured here was a half hour, RIDICULOUS. Although I enjoy their veggie curry chicken, I value my time more, so I will not be returning.

My favorite Jamaican spot by far. I choose to go the distance instead of buying from 52nd street. Love the oxtails and jerk chicken. I'm a spice queen any thing with spice is my kick. This place is a gem located in north philly. So if you ever up broad and allegheny you have to stop by !!!!!

Food was okay. They need to indicate on their menu spicy foods. I could not eat the oxtails. The collard greens tasted like the carrots it was mixed with and I hate carrots. We had to wait for a waitress but there were only two other couples in the place. We got paper napkins while the couples before us received cloth napkins. The waitress was not friendly at all. We received the food and had to wait for utensils. She had no knowledge of beverages available. She did not ask us if we needed anything or if everything was okay.

This is my first check in here but not my first time eating here! I can't count how many times I have eaten here all I can say is everytime I eat here the food is consistently great no matter how crowded they get. I usually get Oxtail cabbage and mac n cheese. I like this place because they not only serve great food but they also give back to the community!

Upon walking in, this establishment doesn't look too inviting. The lighting in the dining room is poor. Our waiter was very sweet, but he was definitely someone's child being put to work. For like the first 20 minutes while we were reviewing the menu, everything we inquired about, even the drinks... they didn't have. They have a big menu, but very little off of it is available. Their "vegetarian" menu is not really vegetarian. They cook these items in meat for flavoring, and then remove it. Very annoying. We did have to wait forever for our cornbread to be put on the table, along with any utensils or napkins. The food is good. That fact is undeniable. I had jerk chicken roti. Generally do not think I'd reutrn.

Worst jamaican spot ever. My friend just got me a small oxtail, rice & peas with steamed cabbage & that platter went straight into the trash. I know good yard food when I get it, my parents are jamaican, and this shit was the worst of the worst. First of all, the oxtail was as tough as concrete & ridiculously salty like I was eating Lot's wife & sidewalks. The cabbage was over boiled and mushy, and to top it off, the freaking rice they used was parboiled rice & canned kidney beans. That shit was a total joke & a waste of my friends hard earned money(I'll be damned if I had paid for that depression meal.)

Their food is good. I never ate in but today. My sisters and my Mom and Aunt. The service is real slow and we got here at 3:20pm and we still waiting for our food. Still waiting no food all we have is bread, ice water, and toasted butter bread. I'm so hungry. Some of the food is coming out. We ask to speak to the manager and this guy darrell came out and said well I'm not the manager but is there anything that I can do for you. So my sister said yes I brought my family here to enjoy your food and this restaurant but unfortunately it was a mistake that I brought them here. Because it took so long for the food to come out no one came out to say will be right with you they gave us cornbread and it was hot but then the bread got cold. We didn't get our food it was all most an hour. Then two people got their dinner and the other two didn't so we had to get takeout boxes so the other two didn't eat their food. And another couple came in and they left right back out because they took to long. A couple came in before us and their food took a long time. The food took about an hour and then we got the check before they got their check and no one came back up to see about us or anything then another couple was sitting there after us they got their food but it was just one platter so the guy was eating off his girlfriend platter because his plate was not out yet then when we was get ready to leave which was 20 minutes later than his food comes out they need a lot of help it was a lot of people in the kitchen but a not enough help on the floor it was some young kid he didn't tell us his name he didn't know what was going on and everytime we ask him for something he went back in the kitchen and took like 20 minutes 15 to come back no silverware know nothing and it is a place that you can BYOB. Also when we ask Darrell about what he was going to do for us everybody there wanted a desserts and he said I'll check and I will be back. So he went in the back and act like he was looking around and said Oh we don't have any dessert so when you come back I'll give you something when you come back so everyone said they will save the receipt and talk to the real manager and try to find out the problem but the problem doesn't matter they should give us something for the inconvenience. And this restaurant was on the Cooking Channel with one of the chefs but if he found out this it will be a disgrace. And the people that was ordering on the phone we're coming up to the restaurant which ordering from the window they was getting on their food faster than the people that was sitting in a restaurant. Then after we left we had to walk to the front pay the bill cuz a young guy never came back with my sister credit card we had to go to the window with a take the orders at to get a paper bag and then we drove around the corner in front of the restaurant they have a sign that said help wanted for managers servers you name it they need help if we would have seen that we probably wouldn't have went in. And I found out that my sister had a Groupon coupon and she need to let groupon know how the service was there. I told one couple is better to order at the window and take it home and enjoy it because sitting inside the restaurant is a waste of time. Good luck whoever tries to sit in next time if we do go back we have to ask how long would the food take.

I've been here a few time, mainly for takeout. I thought the food was pretty good, a little pricy though. I've been there to fine in twice, both with groupons. I'll never dine in again. As a matter of fact I'll probably never get food from here again period. The service is a joke. The girl looks bored, no knowledge of the menu, it's bad. And their prices for dine in are a joke. Then my change was $13.00 she gave me a $10 bill n $3 in nickels. I was absolutely not leaving this girl $10. She said they had no $5's. #byegurl oh, but the food, just okay. They the ccorn breadand pour a cinnamon butter over it and it is quite delightful. I ordered the ginger chicken And the waitress replied 'nobody orders that'. Okay. So they don't make it cause food isn't made to order. Jerk chicken is pretty good. Cabbage is good. MMacand cheese is good. My daughter ordered jerk ribs but she messed that up and brought out chicken. Whateva. If you go there simply get takeout never dine in it's an absolute joke

First time here (I've been hearing about it for a while). I have to say the food is on point! I got the small ox tail platter with cabbage and rice with a side of cornbread. Everything is just right. The ox tail could be a little more "fall off the bone" tender and there could be more of it (I have like 4 pieces) but it's still very delicious nonetheless. Next time I'll probably go for a large! The cornbread is moist and you get a pretty nice slice for $2. Long story short, if you like Caribbean food, try this place! You're welcome.

Just happened to see that they have another Groupon deal going on. They definitely have some nerve after the horrible service they provided. At least this time, they didn't make any exceptions in their menu. STILL WON'T GO BACK!!!! I'm going to stick with Jamaican D's!!!!

Great food for the price, but horrible location and the most unfriendliest staff i've ever witnessed. The first time I went, the hostess seemed super irritated that I didn't know how the place worked. She kept cutting me off and responded with the most unenthusiastic voice. Parking is also the worst - either park far, or get a ticket. But, sometimes, my cravings for this place are so strong that I still come back to this shady location with staff who do not care about you to get the taste of their chicken, rice, and mac and cheese in my mouth. Food = 4.5 Service, location, staff, and EVERYTHING else = 1
