Was there this morning. Food good, staff great and attentive. Note: Blvd Diner is now "The Star." (Might be "The 5 Star, either way, you can't miss it.)

We've come here a few times. The breakfasts are meh but the salad bar is amazing. Went today and got a Spanish omelet. Halfway thru I realized the salsa was rotten. It had a Methane like taste to it that burnt my mouth. We were on our way to an engagement so I just pushed the plate aside and grabbed my toast. Now I'm sitting here writing this review on the toilet with horrific stomach cramps. We won't be back.

This Diner has been through many name changes, so desided it was time to try it out for Breakfast!! My morning hear, well I say kinda good. First thing I could think of was Driving in to the parking lot on Wed morning and see a couple of cars made me think that mabe the food is not that good not many cars means not many people knowing that other diners are usually packed. But Wow was I wrong. When I seen the menu I was over shocked to see everything they had for breakfast!! Over 45 different omelette's to choose from. And then I notice they had 5 other breakfast specials for around $6, Then the other special they had to top it all off for a good price was: 2 eggs, home fries, meat of choice eaither, scrapple, bacon, sausage, and a cup of juice and coffee, yes you get both, And toast with it and they bring out jelly to put on the toast for just $4.99 for all that is a great deal. Every once in awile it's nice to get a breakfast for such a low price. The breakfast was very good. I was pleased with it. Everything was done just right. The coffee was even good. Always enjoy a good cup of Joe. The inside was very clean with a nice size television, And was roomy, the only complaint I had was the waitress was not in a very good mood, she seem like she didn't want to even be there. That's why I only gave 4 stars, But other then that enjoyed everything esle and will be back again for another good breakfast. Check out there Dinner specials there are some great ones to choose from!!

I am not a breakfast person in any way at all. Personally I'd rather eat a cheesesteak and call it a day. However when I do have a taste for it, I wind up at a diner and always seem to go to a place i've never tried before. The parking lot's layout is super weird. Small and a mix of regular spaces with diagonal ones which makes it a little difficult to park. While waiting on a friend, I did see folks driving towards the back so I'm assuming there's parking there somewhere. We were greeted and seated instantly. Place was packed but no lines or waiting so that was a good thing. Nice window seat too. Got a seat and a menu. Turns out, this place has a decent bar menu too and reasonable prices. Average cocktail was about $5-6. But I digress. My dining partner ordered grapefruit juice and asked if it were red or white. Waitress had no clue but offered to go and ask which she promptly did. It was white which my friend wanted. Friend ordered the juice along with a Belgian waffle and Canadian bacon. I ordered the two eggs, bacon and toast breakfast. That came with home fries as well. I had coffee, . Food was out in literally five minutes, whoot! Waitress checked on us once and that's fine with me. I don't need the overzealous waiter in my face during my entire meal anyway. I had a good time, good service and I'll be back when my breakfast craving kicks again in another six months lol. Hell, I will probably be back for a cocktail.

Terrible first experience. Our waitress didn't check on us. She forgot my cup of ice and bacon. She didn't even great us she just stood there ready to write down what we wanted. She didn't ask us how our food was. Then my boyfriend leaves his cell phone and we call to see if they have it and the owner picks up and says no he didn't have it and hung up on me. So my boyfriend calls back and he tells him their to busy to look then hangs up again. I will never go back. The food wasn't even good.

Quick seating, good service (friendly, but not overly attentive), and usual diner fare. The grilled cheese was nicely toasted, though the cheese itself could've been a little more melted in the center. The fries were nice and crisp. An oddity (that didn't affect the flavor): the chicken noodle soup was made with bow-tie pasta! It was definitely nice that the "sports bar" portion was separated by a hallway, so the front was "diner" and the back "bar."

Excellent diner food for stupid low prices. Service is great & place clean. Everyone very friendly. Nothing fancy. Just satisfying, homey food. It's my default place to eat when I have no idea of what I want, but am hungry.

I have dined here when it was under two different managements. The first one I didn't care for, but when a new owner took over, wow did they shine! the portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the early bird specials which last til 9PM are unbeatable! Definitely worth checking out.

On my last day in Philly, my boyfriend and I decided to try out Boulevard Diner since it was just a block or two from the hotel we stayed at and it also has 4 stars on Yelp. When we arrived there was this strong, musty, old, basement odor lingering. The decor is typical diner decor. We were sat down immediately. Our waitress was nice and friendly. We ordered our iced coffees and our waitress brought two additional cups of ice and told us the diner doesn't make actual ice coffee so she used hot coffee instead and poured ice over. I appreciated her honesty, but was also a little turned off. So for brunch, Will had the: Boulevard Bonanza (two eggs any style, short stack of pancakes, two strips of bacon, and a large sausage link with homefries. The dish sure looked massive and slightly unappealing. I ordered the Mushroom Omelette with cheese. Reasonable portion size, but OD on the cheese. I couldn't finish my omlette since there was just too much cheese. The experience at Boulevard Diner wasn't what I expected it to be. Food was mediocre. I've definitely had better breakfasts at other diners before. I feel that the decor can use an update and definitely need to get rid of that old, musty, moldy, basement odor. No one wants to walk into a restaurant that smells like a moldy basement.

Never been here before but figured we would try something new....so glad we did. Jennifer, our waitress, was excellent; attentive, genuine and cheerful. The service was only topped by the great recommendations and the quality of food received. My hubby got the chipped beef and I got the boulevard bonanza and we split up everything with our baby girl.... She is normally a picky eater, but cleaned her plate. Food was yummy, large portions, and a price that couldn't be beat. To top it all, the owner tommy sincerely asked and listened to how we enjoyed our experience and gave my daughter some fresh baked cookies to say thanks. This place is definitely on our list as a hot return spot..

Visiting Philly with no particular craving for dinner, we stopped by Blvd Diner. It's a typical diner with some gaudy decor. But I think that's what I expect in a diner. The food was so-so. I don't even really remember what I got here. The food wasn't terrible, but I'm not sure if I'd come back .

One of my new Breakfast spots! Food is excellent. Wait staff is prompt. Would be 5 stars except, like most dining establishments, when you ask for hot sauce..they give you tabasco!

breakfast is fantastic & offered all day! and the nightly specials are AMAZING! they average about $10-13 and include a big portion, soup, salad, drink, bread & dessert. they even have lamb! service can be a hit or miss but the food is so good its worth the chance!

Food was good, place is clean, service friendly and quick, and the price is right. Extensive menu as you'd come to expect from any east coast diner, the Philly Cheesesteak was wonderful.

Came here with a group on Sunday for brunch. I've eaten here before but not with these owners as it seems the place changes hands quite often. The first thing I noticed was the hundreds of water-stains in the drop ceiling. Don't these owners think about cleaning the place up a bit? Pretty disgusting as I felt the tiles would drop onto the floor. Maybe they thought it added some space-age decoration to the boring white tiles but the puke-yellow did nothing except tell customers that they do not care about appearances. I had an orange juice which turned out to be the mix kind, not fresh. My salad was fine which had salsa and chips on it. The piece of southern-fried chicken breast was overdone, dry, and difficult to eat. My wife had a basic breakfast of an omelet, potatoes, toast, etc. This was just as good as any IHOP. Kids went for lunch items of a hamburger and spaghetti with meatballs. The burger my son loved, and the spaghetti was not even half eaten. The meatball was OK. They did get ice cream with their kid's meal. Service was relatively attentive, the menu was very large like most diners, and there seemed to be a steady flow of customers coming in. My recommendation is to just go with the basics, and stay away from any fancy meals here. Go to the Liberty Bell Diner for a much better meal on Frankford Ave. $50 including tip for 2 adults, 2 children. I could pick a better option to go to and probably won't come back.

I'm pretty sure there are some health code violations up in this place. This place really needs a face lift as well. The service was really good, and the food was fine, but towards the end of our meal I started to notice things. The server brought us a carafe of water which was nice. Then I noticed that there was a shelf of these carafes prefilled with water. They were without lids completely. I saw another one of the servers touch her hair with both hands just before making her table's drinks. I got the chicken and Belgium waffle. The waffle was pretty amazing, but the second piece of chicken had a weird taste kind of like it had been frozen for awhile. I just remembered that there was a strand of hair on the page of my menu with the lunch specials. I don't really know how this place has 4 stars. Maybe when it was more new? Or maybe it's because they serve alcohol.... That was honestly why we went.

One evening after the Flower Show-we had a delicious chicken salad sandwich with bacon--it was very tasty. Went back another night for their "early bird" specials--- salad bar was fine-split pea soup was like wallpaper paste and the turkey platter was just "okay". You do get allot of food here for a very cheap price! My "homemade" bread pudding dessert was cold and had a very odd texture. Not palatable. The waitresses here are a hoot and seem to know all the "regulars" The owner needs to replace the gross stained panels on the ceiling--don't look up--it's very unappetizing.

Food wasn't up to par! It was very bland and according to the menu my, "Turkey Ruben" was a sandwich and mentioned nothing about it being an open faced sandwich... My poor boyfriend got what he thought would be a , "Monte cristo panini" and instead got a ham and cheese panini minus the honey mustard which he had to request on the side after arrival! The fries were nice and crispy though (almost chip like!) love them that way and The waitress was super nice and very attentive. (About the only 2 things we liked!) Very unprofessional owners/management when asked about their macaroni salad containing onions due to a severely allergic counter part. Instead of stepping away from the customers and not having what seemed to be a life altering discussion within ear shot of the patrons seated near by having their prospectiveu dinners.... They carried on with their conversation making it seem like it was a huge inconvenience to them to check if it was ok to serve this to us without them possibly killing my boyfriend! I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for a tasty meal! I suggest you keep on driving passed and hit up another place which might be have a more flavorful menu!

My favorite diner, been here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfast prices are always affordable and they always give you the huge french toast! Lunch is always my favorite and I love the tuna melt sandwich with fries and coleslaw, the coleslaw is creamy and sweet, my favorite kind! The tuna melt is amazing and everything is affordable. I would recommend this diner to anyone for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, or late night after a long night out! You never have to wait long and the waitresses are very nice and always have a conversation with you. They check in on you all the time making sure you have refills and anything else you need. Five stars!

Haven't been here in 15 years or so and stopped in for breakfast when I came back in town for a few days. Food was delicious, service friendly, prices reasonable, restaurant is spotless. People watching is the best... you want local Philadelphia culture? Come here and just watch and listen for an hour.

Went here in the middle of our move to Philadelphia. We stopped by for Lunch on a Sunday afternoon and thought that the fare was standard fare for diners. Food was pretty good, but nothing special. However, we would definitely be happy about coming back here in the future.
