This is one of my favorite places for lunch take-out when I'm at work. They have many vegetarian hoagie options: Veggie chicken salad (which is my favorite), hummus, and mushroom. The prices are very reasonable and the service is super friendly and quick. They also have a nice little market area.

Good for lunch take-out. I came to 3 J's on Saturday to grab a sandwich and a salad. Since it was close to 5pm, my options were slightly limited (no more paninis, grilled chicken, or rye bread). But my salad with cajun turkey and multiple veggies was fresh and packed to the brim. They have a wide selection of deli meats, breads/rolls/paninis, cheeses and toppings to create your sandwich or hoagie, and a nice-looking selection of breakfast sandwiches as well. Wouldn't recommend 3 J's for a leisurely lunch or hang-out spot (only a few hard plastic booths), but as I said it's great for take-out. Nice to know there's another lunch option in the area!

I've had pretty much everything on the menu and the ingredients are top notch. Ask for a 3 J's punch card to get your 11th sandwich free!

I have eaten here a hand full of times and have always had a delicious sandwich that made me think, "yes! this is the place to go!" They use good quality lunch meat (boars head brand). The Flame panini was mouthwatering. Yummm........I know what I am having for lunch :)

I've been quite a few times since it's right around the corner and every time I go I order a different sandwich--they've all been really yummy and filling. They've got a lot of delicious combinations to choose from, and their ingredients are all really fresh. The prices are decent, and the service is really quick too. Yum!

When I walked in, the people behind the counter were having a conversation, and took 3 minutes to have someone walk over to the register where I was waiting to order. Felt rushed as the woman looked like she had somewhere to go. When I ordered I said I was dining in--got my food in a container to go but didn't complain cause it wasn't that serious. Only got my sandwich at least 15 min after I ordered...but I was the only person in this tiny place. And it was just a sandwich, nothing on the side or anything. It was okay. Nothing special. Ehhh

Decent spot for food on the go. The person who, I think, is the owner could stand to be a bit nicer to me considering I frequent the cafe about 2-3 a week, but maybe he's just not a morning person. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. Nothing amazing, but definitely a nice alternative to some of the more pricey spots in this neighborhood.

Good neighborhood deli that makes good sandwiches & wraps. Tiny seating area, but a good choice for food to go.

I barely review so this is how great this place is; don't care what sandwich I get, I know that it is going to be great. I usually hate ordering food as I flip flop between items so I usually walk in and say a number and by the time that I figure out if I want an ice coffee or a hot one the sandwich is made and ready to go. Love the guys and love the food and once you get to know them they know you and always say hi. Can not recommend any other sandwich place as sandwiches are hard. Best place to eat in the area, golden chopsticks, the deli and Subway which is only a half block away should move because once you are in 3J's you will never want to go anywhere else.

Salads and sandwiches are excellent. 5 stars for that. And they have free wifi and good seating. What knocks this place down to a 4 in my opinion are the horrible deli meats and cheeses in the deli case. Avoid those and you won't be disappointed. This place rocks. I come here a lot and this past time I made my own salad with spring mix, avocado, grilled chicken, mushrooms, craisins, and walnuts. Just unbelievable. The honey rasp vinaigrette is amazing and the generous portion of grilled chicken took time to cook, as it should. The mushrooms were so good, and I think pickled. Fresh ingredients and great food.

I've eaten lunch here a number of times and I really like it. I usually get the Club Panini with corned beef. Always consistent and delicious. Someone else here said the portions were "appropriate". Perfect characterization. I like to eat large portions, and when I first saw one of these sandwiches, I thought it might be a little small, but I was dead wrong. Very fulfilling, even for my over-eating tendencies. The place really lacks decor or lighting but it doesn't really matter. If I were them I would consider a little more natural light if at all possible. During the warm months I tend to take the food to go and eat in the nearby park. This is a great addition to a neighborhood in need of some lunch food variety. The people are very nice and accommodating as well. Warm and fuzzies for all.

3J's Cafe is a great place to go when you want a sandwich, but Wawa just isn't going to cut it. The sandwiches are made quick and are filling. I'd recommend the Flame Panini, if you want a little spice. You can eat here, but most people order to go. Also, if you become a regular, you can use their punch card and receive a free meal. You need to purchase 10 bagels, paninis, sandwiches or hoagies and the 11th one is free. Too bad it isn't open on Sunday.

Went to 3 J's Cafe during breakfast for the opening, and I was not impressed. I'm not talking about your usual opening day problems, I mean the place seemed to be an average deli. All the food seemed to be bought in. The desserts were not made there (they had the boxes in the deli counter window), and their 'homemade' salads looked kind of meh as well. They don't seem to offer any fresh meats, such as grilled chicken, but only deli meats. I ordered a bacon and cream cheese sandwich on wheat (what can I say, it sounded good!), and was very underwhelmed. The wheat bread was the typical bad diner Wonder Bread style wheat. The bacon was okay, although pre-cooked it seemed, and cream cheese is cream cheese. I think the biggest reason I'm disappointed is that it seems like your run of the mill deli, and that is pretty much one of the only options for lunch in Spring Garden right now. Within 3-4 blocks, I count seven other delis/stores that offer the same product, some of which offer it for less. There were high hopes for this restaurant, but now I think it will last less time than its previous occupant, Sweeties.

I was treated by a co-worker to lunch here, and I have been hooked ever since! I have to have it at least once a week. They have a great selection with a twist on classics that keeps you coming back for more. Who knew a simple sandwich could be so good?? I'm really not one for lunch meat, but my fav's so far are the flame, the godfather, and ALL of their desserts. The icing on the cupcake sandwich is that the food is fresh, the prices are cheap, and the employees are friendly, prompt, and they don't scoff at specializations requests. I swear they deliver with a leer jet! With many healthy options to choose from, I will be eating here for a long, long time.

This place has turned me into a hoagie eater. As I grew up hoagies where enjoyable, but I was always fickle about lunch meat. Taking brown bags of lunch meat sandwiches to catholic grade school everyday turned it into overkill for me. However, when I went to college I would make frequent late night wawa visits for my honey turkey hoagie. It became a delicious but costly habit. Now out in the real world, 3 J's has once again hooked me on the deliciousness of lunch meat. I have gotten both the italian specialty hoagie as well as a honey maple turkey jr. hoagie. Both were packed with meat and cheese, and were DUH.LI.CIOUS. I mean, they're a bit pricey. But it's so worth it. So worth it. And I like the fact that they have mustard and mayo packets on hand, so that I can add just the perfect amount to my hoagie. This place is going to break my wallet but I'm totally okay with it.

I've been to 3J's at least 5 times in the past month and I think it's a great addition to the fairmount area. While there are a lot of places to have a sandwich made, not many have custom sandwiches that you can simply order. That's one of the best things about this place - very creative sandwich combinations, and I've yet to try one I didn't like. The ingredients are fresh, the meats are Boar's Head, and the prices are spot on. They also have a full selection of beverages. A standout is their spicy mayo which has a great kick to it and really adds depth to their sandwiches. The Flame sandwich is probably my favorite so far. Make sure to order it as a panini. It has sliced chicken breast, spicy mayo, avocado, green peppers... the flavors blend really well together. The spicy chicken salad sandwich is also excellent, which has chucks of chicken, walnuts, and raisins and looks like chicken salad you would make at home. It also has bacon which is unique. Make sure to get it on wheat bread. This is not wonder-bread style wheat as someone else mentioned, it's actually delicious mutli-grain with baked in seeds. The great turkey is also another good sandwich, it's on focaccia bread with gouda cheese. I'm eager to try some of their other creations, including a thanksgiving sandwich with turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and gravy. This place is definitely becoming a goto spot for an inexpensive and delicious meal. It's small and you probably wouldn't want to eat there, but takeout is fast and easy and they also deliver. Another plus is the produce place right next door, Feder's Fresh, which has the best produce in the area, and not at Whole Foods prices. The combo of these places next to each other makes it a great new food location in fairmount.

I wasn't expecting Paesano's, but I was at least expecting Palm Tree quality. It wasn't that anything was inherently bad, it just wasn't very good. I had the Flame panini, and it just lacked any kind of "pop" and the Italian hoagie was similar to Wawa quality. I tried to like it as I went on, but from the bread to the meats, nothing was that great.

Great sandwiches and a go to place for me for lunch. I go quite often as I work from home and live nearby. They have a wide selection of sandwiches, good prices, and Boar's head meat. I did get a bagel sandwich once and I could tell when I bit into it that the bagel was not fresh. That being said, everything else I have gotten there has been great and I recommend it to anyone that wants a sandwich for lunch. Much better than WaWa, and the prices are comparable.
