This is an adorable little place like something out of Gilmore Girls. The pumpkin pancakes were like something my mom would make. The jam on the table is AMAZING, and the eggs/omelets look wonderful. This is the kind of place where the mugs don't match but the coffee is always poured fresh. I'd highly recommend this place not just for the food but for the small town atmosphere' it's a far cry from the Starbucks just around the corner.

Four of us were looking for a quick spot for breakfast the morning after a wedding. We yelped for a breakfast spot nearby, hoping for anything with hollandaise on the menu. Unable to see the menu for Pat's, we took our chances. Well, jackpot. They had an entire section for byo Benedict. My friend had Canadian bacon and asparagus, I had spinach and tomato... So we shared. A-mazing. My fiancé had traditional Canadian bacon. Great hollandaise, perfect poached egg on a grilled Thomas muffin. The fourth had traditional scrambled egg platter with scrapple. He really enjoyed his meal. The consensus was that the potatoes were delicious. Big roasted potatoes, fresh herbs, paired with the hot sauce they leave out, crystal or franks (franks was our request). I also had their corn beef hash. Good stuff. Peppery and grilled just right. The coffee was good. The server, Anthony, was attentive and laid back, just what a breakfast server should be. Being in the business for my whole life, my father owns a small restaurant where he is chef-owner, this place meets our standards in the eye. With only 12 tables, this place is the quaint and better than the average. Give it a shot... You'll be glad you did.

You have to try the Jam (try them all - there are different flavors). Excellent! A near flawless brunch experience!

A cozy breakfast place with friendly service and fresh food. Prices are pretty good and the PB&J pancakes are a nice twist to the old breakfast standbys. They are great without any additives! It can be a little cramped but that's part of the charm.

Pat's Colonial Kitchen is certainly charming, but also slightly cramped. Quite a few tables stuffed into a space that isn't massive. But that's okay -- in hindsight, I think I've yet to ever eat at a "spacious" breakfast place. Because the restaurant is both small and popular, the staff is understandably eager to seat and serve you as quickly as possible. However, when some members of our party were slightly more sluggish in getting to the door from the car, the hostesses hounded us suspiciously: "Is your whole party really here? Are you sure they're all here?" That kind of gets my goat. As for the food, I found the pumpkin pancakes to be drier and slightly less flavorful than I had hoped for. They were made with walnuts, which added some welcome extra flavor. Not the best pancakes ever, but definitely nowhere near the worst. There's definitely some charm here, and I'd come back again for breakfast or brunch in the future.

Went for breakfast and everything was great! Coffee was good and so was the omelette! I would highly recommend it! Some of their specials sounded really good, and the price was reasonable. As we were about to leave, the table next to us got their chicken salad, and it looked incredible! Looks like I'll be going back for lunch!

I grew up in the restaurant business, & know good food & service when I see it. I have a very critical eye. I found Pat's dirty overall. When my wife & I sat down at our table , our silverware looked like someone had already eaten a meal with the utensils. How can a server setting a table not see this!!!! The omelet my wife ordered was the worst she had ever had. The omelet was I've cooked and dry!! She left most of it. The server never picked up o n into when she cleared the plates. Pat's missed the boat big time. When we return. To t be area we would never eat at Pat's again. I know what I'm talking about, don't waste your time or money !!!

This is a cute small place. I haven't been here in a year or so. Because they do great pancakes, but the potatoes & other basic breakfast foods were burnt two visits in a row. You also have to wait outside on the deck until a table is available. I recommend going with kids who love sugary fancy pancakes and coco.

I've lived in Newtown my entire life, and Pat's Colonial Kitchen has always been the best breakfast place to go. From Sunday mornings with the girls, or a nice breakfast before school (back in the high school days), it's the best. It's a small home turned into a breakfast place. It's homey, all the mugs for coffee are different as if taken from the kitchen of a home, the menu is broad and delicious, it's well-priced, etc. You won't leave disappointed. The service is fast and friendly and everyone is happy, even if you're there are 7am. Highly recommended. It's the kind of place you set your alarm early to get out of bed and go.

Small, crowded and the food was "meh". Nothing made us say that we MUST re-visit. The portions were small, relative to other restaurants, but were a "normal" size for nutritional intake. I spent my meal getting bumped into the entire time, as my seat was in the walkway and the space is incredibly small.

Great place for breakfast. Portions are not as huge as in other places but the food is great and the atmosphere is nice. We live in Newtown and this is our favorite breakfast place.

OMG... I'm not a breakfast guy, but this was by a mile the best breakfast that I have ever had. The fruit cup was freshly sliced, and both the regular and pumpkin pancakes were amazing. You could tell everything was made from scratch and with care. The staff was warm, welcoming and attentive. I will be back here anytime that I find myself in Newtown. If this place was by my house I would be here daily!

I love it here. It is a quaint old home in the center of Newtown Borough, with a lot of charm, and friendly faces. The food is always good (look for the french toast special with berries / and they have delicious salads too). The prices are reasonable, and while the portions aren't huge, I myself am always unable to finish everything. The only downside is that it is TINY, and so you are SQUEEZED in like sardines. If you are clausterphobic, this is not the place for you!

Good food, reasonable prices. I ordered, "to-go" and even with a mother-in-law who had special requests, the order was taken in stride and we all had a great breakfast. An added bonus is the waiting area on the porch. A good place to wait while people watching.
