Mrs. Marty's is kind of aiming itself as a local delight type of place. I have family that lives nearby and comes here offen, brings us all in for eats as their "local spot" and still admits to some issues with the food. We had breakfast here. The food is decent - nothing spectacular or fancy or even terribly homemade - looking or unique - recipe tested...issue one is obvious here which is that it's priced like your cheese is organic or specialty or local but it's probably from a kraft box. In fact all the food is like this: the menu seems to showcase something just a bit special about their eggs Benedict on potato pancakes, but the potato pancakes are kind of like mashed potato patties, not the shreds you're used to in this area of the country. (I'm told the Benedict are horrible this way and mentally a poached egg on meat and mashed potatoes seems kind of mushy) - ie, presented special, delivered standard. Order your home fries well-done - these are pretty darn tasty but in obvious blasphemy against their attempt to play in the high - brow brunch game of the new trend, they have NO Sriracha in this joint. My heart flopped. My omelette was fine but I didn't finish it - just wasn't tasty enough to pack my stomach to illness. Service was fine, good or better. The place was busy but we weren't neglected and refills on the coffee were very forthcoming. We had a big group but meals arrived mostly all together. Overall, I wouldn't call it a particularly special place. Over-priced for a fairly standard breakfast menu, fine service, diner-esque, seemed good for family drop in as a no frills but good joint. For breakfast at least youll be filled, just don't expect to impress or be impressed.

Upsize drinks without asking. Who wants a A 22 ounce milk after asking for a small one? Over many visits I've found service with the exception of ONE WEEKDAY waitress to be really bad. Weekend service is bad. Think the "s " word. The milk issue was resolved not by me getting a normal sized milk for instance 8 to 10 ounces bur getting a 16 ounce replacement AFTER she argued with me this was the only small size. Looking around i see 8 ouncers for juice which i clearly expected when i twice asked for " small" Add insult to injury and i hear 2 of the staff talking about me because i wanted a smaller drink. I have to add i was polite but the rest of my meal was delivered with no verbal interaction from the waitress. Waitressing is Hard. So i am a a 20% and up tipper. But today I am glad i am a cash only diner because tipping was in line with my experience. 10%. Oh and the waitstaff yell back n forth to one another across the restaurant. $14 for soup and sandwich, nothing special. How do they stay in business?

Been here numerous times and the service is always average to poor. Today's service was even worse - it was horrible. Our waitress, Cindy, did her best, but the management proved totally incompetent today.

It's first-come first -serve service. There apparently isn't a queue. The waitress watched a guy take a spot in front of me and she let it go. It was sort of awkward... [Natasha, It was late Sunday morning. Without doing research, I would guess around 11:30 a.m.]

Decent food....horrible service. Wandered in shortly before noon on Memorial Day weekend. Waitress invited us to sit down at an available booth. It just went south from there on.... She took an eternity to bring us menus and twice as long to come back from her conversations w/co-workers to take our order down. There didn't seem to be one adult over the age of 30 in the front of the business and god only knows who was in charge in the back. I can only guess that the owner of the business was enjoying a nice Mem. Day weekend day off while his waitstaff drove his business off a cliff. A little eye contact would have been nice...but, never happened. At one point....a man that seemed to be a "regular" stopped by. He asked for an employee who wasn't working at that time. The visiting man was obviously slow or challenged in some capacity. The male behind counter...couldn't have been more demeaning and dismissive of the regular who just wanted to know if his favorite employee was working. It was a bit unsettling.... Other than that...the food was good.

Just left Mrs Marty's feeling dirty, used, and unsatisfied. This was the most overpriced and undewelming breakfast I've ever had. The bill was $50 for two adults & two toddlers. The food was average at best and the service was just ok. For that price, go to one of the many other Media establishments that serve fresh, inventive food. I wish I had been smart enough to consult yelp before walking in.

Service was slow! Food was not even close to being worth $30 for a cup of soup and 2 sandwiches ! Stay away

Great for Sunday morning breakfast. Better then your average diner food, great service and atmosphere.

Expensive and small portions. How do they stay in business?

The best breakfast spot in the area by far. Friendly service, great prices, awesome breakfast. There are plenty of breakfast spots around here that are terrible...and I went to most of them before stumbling upon this place. What a gem.

In a town full of great restaurants, this one brings up the rear end... and don't get me wrong... the food is good and OK, but I have experienced a lot better deli-type restaurants, and unfortunately, this one is not one of the top ones as far as Jewish-like delis go. I write "Jewish-like" because I find that they fail in some areas where good Jewish delis excel, such as a pastrami sandwich should have a mound of pastrami on it! Feh!

Love the decor, the feel and environment of Mrs Marty's. The sandwiches are good and it gets me my pastrami kick when needed. Breakfast is excellent, beats a certain local diner, and is great after a night of over-imbibing on State Street. We have friends ask to go all the time when they stay over. However, outside of the sandwiches and omelettes, I feel the portion side is inconsistent, especially with the delicious home fries. Sometimes you get a mound, other times you get spoonful. The other gripe is with pricing, it often comes out to more than $10-12 a person for not a whole lot of food. Call me cheap, but the category that Mrs. Marty's falls in (deli/diner) you can get a whole lot more for a little less other places. To that extent, however, I keep going back and don't really plan on stopping.

As one of the few jews in Media, I feel obliged to support Mrs. Marty's and was so excited when it initially opened on state st. a few years ago. With that said, it has gone from "OK" to "AWFUL" over time. I can not even choke down the matzoh ball soup anymore, the sandwiches barely have any bread or meat on them and everything is expensive for the amount you get. what a shame- we need a good jewish deli in DelCO!!

From the hysterical menu to the golden-era waitstaff, this place goes out of it's way to put a little "Oy" in the middle of main street USA! With all the traditional Jewish Deli fare, you will find generous helpings of everything home-made, great fishes, family friendly choices & diner style breakfast all day. The Matzo Ball Soup is delicious!!!!

This is a sweet little restaurant. I love their fries and grilled cheese sandwiches. I like that there are a lot of options on the menu and pretty much every time I've been there the whole table was satisfied with their meals.

What a terrible breakfast experience. The only saving grace of this place is the food is decent, if they get your order right. We stopped in with a group of 7 and sat immediately, but the overall mismanagement took over right away. I actually felt really bad for our waitress Cindy who clearly had no support and was working very hard to try to help us. One of the orders was for scrambled eggs and it came out over easy, we never got orange juices but were charged for them. We never got water for any of us until we literally were done with our food and chased down someone. Also, the food came out in varying order and at different times so everyone had to eat separately. No one seemed to be in charge at all, possibly Angelique? Her words were meaningless and nothing she promised happened. She showed some open disrespect to other employees who were trying to help us, and generally lacked any managerial skills. It was so depressing watching this place in action.

Stopped in Mrs. Marty's for brunch yesterday since we were in Media doing a little shopping. I had the Spanish omelette which was pretty good, and I really enjoyed the home fries - they are actually deep-fried unlike most diners in the area. Two of my daughters had salads which they seemed to enjoy - for the price of them though, one would expect some homemade salad dressing instead of the stuff in packets. My other daughter had the veggie wrap ($10.99) which she liked - it didn't have any kind of sauce or dressing on it which was fine with her because that's how she likes it, but if I had ordered it, I would have had to have something to dip it in. The wrap came with the hugest pickle spear ever, and the waitress brought out two more free of charge so that was nice. It was also supposed to come with chips, but we didn't realize it until after we'd left. Anyway, overall it wasn't a bad brunch. A bit expensive but I guess that's Media for you. The portions were right in line with other restaurants in the area. Our server was quite nice, but was a little unattentive when we were finishing up our meal so it took a few extra minutes to get our bill and take out containers, but it wasn't that big of a deal. I will keep Mrs. Marty's in mind next time I find myself looking for a meal in Media.
