I was excited the first time I found this place but it seems to have fallen off over the past year. The parking lot is never as full as it used to be and the quality of food and service shows. Even dropping in for a cheap beer (which isn't all that cheap here) can be a disappointing experience. The soups are still good, so there are still good finds to be had if you're willing to be choosy

The only good thing I can say about our recent experience was that our waitress was nice. My husband ordered the crab cake sandwich (he was starving and could only get through a few bites) and I ordered a Philly cheesesteak (it was OK). The best part of our meal was the garden salad we each decided to order as an appetizer, which is simply lettuce, croutons, tomato and cucumber. Normally I never complain but I had to send back a draft beer (was flat and watery). We were very disappointed in our experience as we have had dinner here in the past with no complaints. I doubt we will ever go back.

Again tried and true place for lunch on the outskirts of Media. Not going to knock your socks off but not going to disappoint either. Reminds you of a Wharf, Clam Tavern or other blue hair special hangout in Delco. If you know that going in there is nothing wrong with it, just dont expect much more. You will probably run into one of your grandparents here and most definately run into the waitress who wants to know if you want cole slaw, applesauce or the green beans from 1962 as your sides.......

Great neighborhood tappy with very good food. Comfortable whether I'm there alone or with my husband. Family owned and run. Very happy to support such a great local place!

I have heard nothing but good things about this place so my wife and I decided to give it a try one night with our 4 year old daughter. We misunderstood when we were told it was a restaurant. It is a bar with tables around it. The hostess should have known better then to place us next to patrons who obviously were drinking awhile. I didn't appreciate the gentleman conversing about Sarah Palin banging black guys, but much more graphic language, literally right next to my 4 year old daughter. Now for the service. It was subpar. Don't get me wrong the waitress tried her best, but didn't feel like walking through the mob of drinking morons to bring us our drinks or food. She instead simply handed them over a small divider to us. Finally the food, which I've heard was good. What I have come to realize is it was just OK bar food. My wife had the crab cake, which she said was ok. I had the Fiesta wrap, which was just over cooked chicken smothered in condiments. Over all impression, not good. I would never go here again!!!!!!!!!!

I had passed by this restaurant for the past 10 years and always wanted to stop in for a meal.. Well, today was my day to stop in for lunch.. The interior is dim.. very dim. But it is nicely decorated. It reminded me of an old seafood house that I used to eat at when I used to live in North Carolina... There's a huge bar here that's shaped and painted like a ship. Four large flat screen tv's in view of the bar and all seats in the restaurant. Quite a large list of bottled beer and tap beer, along with a few wine selections to choose from. I was seated, and ordered a Yeungling while deciding what to have.. I kept it simple and got the clam strips appetizer, and the clams strips were huge and tender.. I hadn't seen clam strips this size outside of places that I visited in New England.. I ordered the fish and chips for my entree.. I chose flounder. The other choice was haddock. Everything that was served was cooked very well. The selection of seafood was pretty limited. But there were plenty of other dishes and sandwiches on the menu.... Overall a good experience and friendly service.. I'd stop back again for a meal...

If you call ahead to ask if they have crabs and they say yes, don't believe them. There is no way in 20 minutes they sold out if Dungeness when no one else in the place was eating them!!!

The positives are that the chili has an excellent flavor. They call it hot and spicy on the menu, but it has more of a sweetness. All I know is that my bowl never stood a chance. Hell, it didn't even put up a good fight. The service was friendly to me. I have no complaints in that area. The layout of the place... well, i'm not a fan. Let's just say that if you decide to get a booth here to watch a big game, you stand a very good chance of not being able to see it due to the layout of the room. But overall, I'm pleased with this place.

A very delicious comfort food restaurant. The outside of the restaurant is really interesting with vibrant colors and it resembles a boat. The inside of the restaurant is a bit too dark, but I like the layout of the restaurant, where the tables are separated by wooden planks used to show cabins. The menu is reasonable, with lots of appetizers and sandwiches, and a limited amount of full entrees, most of which are seafood. Prices are reasonable and portions are quite large. Service is okay, very friendly, not the fastest. To start, I recommend the crab bisque, served in a white broth. It resembled a clam chowder, but it used crab. It was very delicious and creamy. It was served with stale crackers, though. I had a chicken Caesar salad, served with a delicious fresh roll. The salad wasn't overdressed and the chicken was grilled nicely. We also had a turkey Reuben, which was simple and good. The patty melt was fantastic, and it tasted like our family recipe. They matched it perfectly, with the perfect meat and the melted cheese. Cheap, delicious, and a great family restaurant.

A dimly lit bar/grille with an emphasis on seafood is what you'll find at Campbell's Boat House. The bar is humongous and shaped like...a boat. There are four TVs - two on either side of the bar - of which you may or may not have a good view depending on where you're seated, so choose wisely if you're here to watch the game. The craft beer list is OK and there is a beer fridge should you want to stop by and pick up a 6 or 12 pack. As far as the food... nothing fancy, but neither is the establishment. The french onion soup was pretty fantastic, though - not too salty (which seems to be a common crime) and a generous amount of onions. You can get U-Peel shrimp here but don't expect a meticulous cleaning job. Out of 15 shrimp at least a third of ours still had remnants of the 'poop vein' (not actually a vein, but whatevs) lingering. Ick. Prices don't seem exorbitant at first glance but somehow our bill came to $47 (before tip) for soup, salad, shrimp, fries and 2 drinks (non-alcoholic!)... yikes! Service was friendly and attentive. I'll come back here for the french onion soup and a beer.

Laid-back atmosphere, cozy booths, good drinks, great service. This is not a place for foodies, or the health-conscious, but an excellent and comfortable place to get a drink and some excellent bar food. The battered onion rings are one of my favorites, as well as the cheesesteaks, club sandwiches, and wings. They have a bottle-shop inside as well so you can take something to go.

Very good overall.. pleasant service, good food and generally huge portions. The dining room is a little darker than I'd normally like but not bad. Always a better choice than a chain restaurant. I say, give it a try!
