First visit was better than the second. My beer tasted fine and I enjoyed my bacon/barbeque burger (even if it wasn't cooked to the way I ordered it). Bartenders were friendly and so were the staff. My second visit was worse, that's for sure. It appears like the beer lines were dirty, Goose Island Chrismas and Brooklyn Winter Ale tasted off. The bartender took the first one back but I didn't have the heart to complain about the second one. My Corona on tap tasted fine, and so did the bottles. French onion soup was passable--it tasted a bit too pre-prepared (there's gotta be a packet of powder back in that kitchen)--but it was only $4, so what do I expect? French fries were not hand cut and came to me lukewarm (I prefer them piping hot and to be the first thing I eat on my plate with my burger). My horseradish, bacon burger was good--cooked-to-order (in fact a bit too rare, but I'm O.K. with that). Philadelphia spoils me, that's for sure. I think two stars for this place is generous. But the staff is friendly, so is the Quizzo host, and it is affordable. I don't have a context for food in the 'burbs, but if this were in Philly, it'd be getting one star.

It's a standard bar, in the vein of TGIFridays or Ruby Tuesdays. Lots of nonsensical crap on the walls and reasonable bar food. Our waitress was very friendly but definitely didnt have a good understanding of the beer selection. I asked what was available on draft but that proved fruitless, so I just ordered from the bottle/can menu. For appetizers we had nachos and cheese fries. Both used the same type of cheese, which I'm pretty sure was cheez wiz. not bad on the fries but not a good option for nachos. the nachos also had chili (sub par), salsa (sub par), and jalepenos. the chips on the nachos were also pretty low grade. everyone enjoyed their entrees. burgers looked good, buffalo shrimp wrap was good, veggie burger wasn't bad. overall the place is fine if you want friendly service and standard bar food. i wouldnt rush back for food, but it's not a bad spot if you want to meet a group of friends.

Wing Wednesdays, use to be $4 now its $5. Still not bad.....wings aren't the greatest but it hit the spot when ur craving it.....depending on the days, Taco Tuesdays, $5 pizzas and daily beer specials, etc. They use to also have $1 Miller lite bottles, i think that stopped. Good outdoor deck in the summer to hang out. This place definitely draws the college crowd.

Went on a Saturday afternoon, we ordered stuffed mushroms for an appetizer, they were small but delicious. Had the "shock top" beer - pretty good....I had a cajun shrimp salad w/ raspberry vinaigrette dressing - excellent. My friend had the chicken salad wrap, he said it was good. The waitress was good, friendly, I'd definitely go back.

We like this place a lot!!! Everything on the menu is really good. Plus they have some unique foods, the menu is not at all limited to just your typical pub foods. Love their shrimp tacos! Yum! And their wings and nachos are great too. This is our go to place to have good bar food & have a good time! The employees are very friendly and I like the atmosphere too. Not to mention I left my purse on the back of the chair there once and the waitress must have picked it up right away because I called for it 10 minutes later and the hostess had it. Very honest and kind! Everything was just the way I left it in my purse which is how it should be!

This place is much larger than it looks from the outside. There is a large seating section outside, as well as the dining areas inside, and a large bar. We stopped in this past Sunday around 5, and the majority of diners were outside. We went with the boneless wings as an appetizer. They were very tender and had a great flavor. The "hot" sauce was not really hot in my taste, so next time I will go with what they claim to be their "hottest". Both my wife and I went with burgers, as she said they were really good there. I was not disappointed. The bacon and cheese were added a lot of flavor. The burger itself was large, and we really struggled to finish it. The fries were very crispy and had a light seasoning on them. The beer selection was also very robust, including a lot of craft brews on tap. We will definitely come back, especially when we are craving burgers.

We recently moved behind here so were excited to build a rapport. We have now been about six times and tonight was the worst of four bad visits. I ordered a small salad and hot wings. The salad didn't come until the wings, so they sat. Once I started eating I noticed they were mild. I like spicy, so I stopped after a couple and waited for the waitress. 15 minutes before she got back to our table... And I explained the product and asked if she could just exchange the ones I didn't eat. She wanted to argue and check the order etc. I said never mind and said I'd take them home and asked to see a manager. 10 minutes later she brought more wings with some side sauce and explained that the manager wasn't coming. I asked for the bill. There was no discount - we were expected to pay the whole thing. I paid the bill and went to Zac's for a burger. Bad management begets bad service. Seriously - the manager wouldn't even come to the table!!

I didn't go here for a long time because there are a lot of dismal reviews. Don't let the bad reviews keep you away. It's an "A-OK" place. The food is okay, usual pub food/American style food that the area typically serves. Nothing super special, but good, solid food. Lots of seating, nice space. You won't ever worry that you won't get seating except maybe at happy hour. The happy hour specials are served only at the bar area, and there's limited seating there. There are drink specials every day except weekends. There are also events most nights. Tuesday night is some kind of bingo. The bar area music can be loud sometimes, just sit in the dining room or out on the porch if it bothers you. Contrary to a prior review, the fact that it overlooks the parking lot isn't a big deal. I've been there a handful of times now, at different times of day and night and never had a problem with exhaust. At night they light little tiki torches on the porch, which keeps the bugs away and provides a nice atmosphere. Pool tables, bar inside, bar outside. 3 stars for a restaurant. 4 stars for a friendly neighborhood bar.

Barnaby's is simply a bar. That serves food. It can also accomodate large and rowdy groups. We came on a relatively quiet Monday night (thank goodness) with our 7 year old who promptly told me she hates it there. DH & I both had half priced burgers (Which for $4.50 each was a great bargain.) Service was fine - nice young gal. Food was unremarkable. Not my cup of tea, but I bet we'll be back - it's very close to our new house.

This was my go-to spot until they started charging my tab incorrectly. It has happened multiple times in the past two years. They also will say something is on special but then charge you regular price When I come here now, I keep track of everything I drink and only pay cash. Definitely don't drink too much because you will be paying for someone else! Also, when they say " this ones on me" you're going to end up paying for it. I only come back here because I live right behind it. I heard they were shady with tabs but never believed it until 2 drinks I would never order showed up on my tab 3 different times. Same girl did it each time and she's been there forever. Not cool! Don't expect the manager to do anything either. He doesn't want to be bothered!

Always a nice ambiance to the place. Excellent food and plenty of TVs to watch the games on. Reasonably priced with ample portions. Can get quite noisy and hard to hear anything which of course increases the noise. The outdoor deck is now open and beautiful to sit out in the late afternoon.

I have been to this Barnaby's location many times. It is great to grab something quick to eat and their food is always great! My go to is the buffalo chicken egg rolls! They are always amazing. I usually split them with someone because they give you 3 big egg rolls cut in half. They have great specials each day of the week with discounts menu items. I have gotten a huge cheese steak with fries for $7.00! The portions are always large and I end up taking half of my food home. I enjoy it because I get two meals out of what I order and for a reasonable price. The burgers are also a great option. I have tried a few but my favorite is the mushroom swiss. There is another one that has bbq sauce which is amazing. Along with the food specials there are always great drink specials. You can usually get some type of beer for $2.00 or $2.50. Can't go wrong with that!

I've only eaten here once and mainly go for the beer and every time I tell my self I'll never go back. Not much room to move around when your surrounded by big steroid arms and tiny heads.

I've been to this Barnaby's a couple of times now, and each time experienced consistently decent service and food. We start (always) with the cheese steak egg rolls, served with a spicy ketchup. They get points for crispy flavor and cheesy goodness. My meals in the past (salad, burger) haven't stood out particularly, but the fajitas I got the last time we were worth mentioning. I got a large sizzling skillet of veggies and chicken and lots of fixins on the side to dress them up. My one complaint was my tortillas, wrapped in a piece of foil while warm, stuck together. Small potatoes, though, since everyone else enjoyed their meals as well - veggie burger, taco salad, roast pork sandwich, wings. I tried some fries as well, and they do a damn fine job at those too. Our server was quick, refilled drinks before we even knew they were empty, and made us feel right at home. Barnaby's is a solid pick in the area, and in quite a beautiful location too!

Barnaby's is really more of a bar/club than a restaurant... We've eaten there a number of times over the years and it's been just so-so... It's pretty popular among the area's young people, but I fear my days of bar-hopping to Barnaby's have been over for quite some time!

Went to the Barnaby Aston location for lunch on Saturday and boy was I impressed . Bar had a ton of TVs with all the college football games on. Services were very fast and friendly. My father got a burger and absolutely loved it. I got the Chesapeake chicken sandwich with crab imperial and I can say I really enjoyed it. Best part was for 2 sandwich platters and 2 sodas the bill was only 24 bucks!

We usually like this place but on this particular evening, we wanted to watch a game. Not only did the bartender change the channel but he was a complete jerk about changing it back saying "I'm gonna put them all on gymnastics..." a bartenders job is to serve drinks and be a DECENT HUMAN BEING. This guy ruined it for us. That and the food was not great at all... All that being said the only reason it's 3 stars is because our server was fantastic...

The positives here are the service. I always find the staff to be great with the kids. Gave the 2 star rating because I remain disappointed with the food. With the amount of menu space they dedicate to their self-hyped wings you would think that they would be out of this world. Instead you get dry chicken wings sharing a plate with a teeny tiny container of bleu cheese. many of their options just seem to be of the heat and serve variety. All of their locations are in great spots and provide a decent sports themed atmosphere. They have the potential to be be better, much better.

Service was god awful. I can't even begin to describe how poorly run this joint is. You could argue that the French had a better WW2 strategy then this place's service. In case you didn't know, France surrendered in 2 weeks. I've seen better service in Prison mess halls. We should've gone to Applebee's.

This is my best friend's local haunt. I came here after my new year's jaunt in Dallas. After three days of drinking. dancing, raving, shuffling, not sleeping, not eating, laughing and crying....I needed food and best friend time. I had a chicken sandwich with bacon and honey mustard. YUM. I also had a dirty martini and way too many ketel sodas. Woops. The week between christmas and new year's was straight abuse to my body, but oh well! No idea on the price, since I wasn't allowed to pay. But I think my sandwich was like $7?

I come here only because of work events but I have been less than impressed with the service each time. This recent visit the bartender informed people that the special was "all domestic drafts $2" and then later told guests that only included miller, lager and coors. News to me that Blue Moon & Shock Top weren't domestic. They only had one import on draft (Guinness) so this was false advertising.

We have wanted to stop in here several times and decided to do just that after picking Strawberries up the road. Everything was hot and fresh plus out waitress did a great job. They have plenty of TV's and neat things to look at on the walls. When up this way again we want to go in the outdoor area and have some drinks!

I've been here so many times over the last ten years. We stopped by earlier this week on the way home from a museum trip and the food was just OK- before, I used to LOVE their burgers. This time- it was overcooked. Meh. Overall, I like Barnabys for what it is- and with that being said (and I HATE this phrase), it is what it is- a cool building in an old mill town with an adequate selection of bar food (read: frozen and likely deep fried.) They have good daily specials and have a friendly and helpful staff.

Great Place for the Family. Great Historic Building and the Water wheel on the outside Deck Is Cool!. Great place for a game and where the Good looking crowd gathers on Weekends...

I've been to a few Barnaby's, and this one isn't too hot. The staff is reasonably friendly, but the food isn't of the best quality. Rolls on burgers often taste stale, fries are often cold, and everything seems extra greasy for some reason. The outside bar are is pretty cool. If you're just looking to hang out and toss a few back, it's fine...but you can do better.

We've gone here periodically, and we really, really want to like it, since it's the closest restaurant to our house. Heaven knows we need some decent restaurants in the culinary wasteland that is Aston - we don't want to always have to drive to Media. We went recently - it was kids eat free night, plus fajitas night, plus cheap Ying Ling drafts. What's not to like? It's hard to mess up fajitas, right? Well, they managed. It must have been a food service pre-packaged mix - the mushy peppers and onions were mixed in with the meat in a vaguely Mexican-flavored mix and served with tepid tortillas, yellow rice, and refried beans. It wasn't awful, but I can make much better fajitas on my own by cooking the veggies separately from the meat on the grill. The sauce on the kids spaghetti and meatballs was also just barely OK. No complaints on the beer, at least - Ying Ling is Ying Ling. We also felt sorry for the poor person who had to dress up as Bob the Builder and circulate around entertaining the relatively few children who were there at the time. My kids are a bit old for Bob, but felt obligated to high five him on each of the many times he stopped by our table. However, we do give Barnaby's credit for at least trying to provide family entertainment. We appreciated the free kids meals and our two $2.50 drafts, but the food prices are a buck or two too high (at least) for the quality being delivered. Ca't say we'd rush back there. Too bad - we'd really like to be able to pop in regularly since it's so close. In fairness, I have to say that the service was fast, and the staff very friendly and attentive.

I love it here! Its only minutes from my house and my job which makes getting beers after work really good. You can't beat thirsty Thursdays for their $1 Miller Lites! Everytime I order food, its always delicious and I get it pretty fast. The DJ always plays fun, hip music thats always easy to sing along to.

It's a sports bar meets log cabin. Very cool inside. I tries the Barnabys Best burger and said Wow on my first bite. First time here I'm sure I'll be back.

I went with my girlfriend to meet up with a few friends for the first time. She had nothing but good things to say about Barnabys but i thought the wait staff was mediocre at best. After having to deal with a smart ass of a bartender, we where served draft beers that seemed like it had been fermenting in a tap for months. We don't know if we'll ever go back.

  • Michelle K.

Rude, rude, rude people. I bought one beer on my credit card, gave the bartender a $2 tip and the next day there are charges out the wazoo from barnabys. I tried to call but apparently the workers just like to pass the phone around and pretend they are the manager when you ask for one. I love the barnabys in aston and havertown so I thought I would try this one out. The whole place reeked of smoke and did I mention everyone was rude?! I will never go back here again. AVOID THIS BAR.

LOVE this bar. Went to College Thursdays every week during Senior year and the bartenders are absolute gems, especially if you get to know them and are not a butt-hole and tip them like they deserve! Have never had a problem with security/the bouncers and I've been black out drunk there pretty many times. The beer prices aren't always the best but $2.50 Blue Moons every Friday...oh my God what a steal! This place is fantastic

I have been here a few times since it first opened and since then, it has changed owners and or names quite a few times. I had eaten here before, and the food was pretty good, however I did go for lunch today and had some appetizers ,it was not the greatest. The first clue should have been the nachos that came out with that nasty cheese they pump out of a canister like hand soap. Whatever it was, it wasn't real cheese, and the salsa was from a jar. To top it off, the bartender did not know how to pour a Guinness, however petty it seems, it's no different than an improperly mixed cocktail.

  • Joe P.

Standard Barnaby's rating. It's one of the more happening places in Delco but this location less so than the other Barnaby's in Havertown. It gets crowded but seems like an afterthought to other places; however, it is down at the bottom of a hill in the middle of nowhere Granite Run area. Has potential to be a good place but I think being stuck in the suburbs and in that particular location hurts it. Food and beer are average.
