This is one of the newer (at least to me) restaurants in Lititz. It is my understanding that they are also a micro brewery, but I don't drink so that's none of my concern. Still, after wandering in one day around lunch time, simply to check out the menu mind you, we were seated and couldn't help but order. I want to say this place leans towards the BBQ side of cuisine, but they offer a nice variety of other things too. My mom and I ordered the BBQ sliders, the red and the white coleslaws, and an order of the BBQ Cabbage. Now, my mother does not eat very much meat. She isn't a vegetarian, it just never enters her diet much - she also doesn't care much for spice. Nevertheless, she ate every morsel on her plate! I can't say that their BBQ is the best in the world, though I will tell you that ordering the sliders was a great way to sample it. Their sauce is good, but we found that topping our sandwiches with the coleslaw, and even the cabbage for that matter, made for delicious combinations. Another thing that must be mentioned is the layout of the restaurant. From the outside it seems like it may be rather small (comparable to Sturgis just down the street). However, when you first enter the storefront, there is a hostess stand/greeter's desk. You then walk past a corner of counter seats, positioned at the window so you can look out and watch passersby. The remainder of the restaurant consists of a bar area and very well laid out table settings. The ones in the middle of the restaurant have a unique design and as a whole they made great use of their space without compromising comfort or over crowding themselves. They sustain a nice ambiance with a mediocre noise volume which creates a nice dining experience that borders on romantic, yet is still laid back. I really enjoyed my experience here and plan to return again in the future.

Loved it! These folk know how to brew beer( Hoptitude and Imperial Amber), and great food. Four of us are the sampler for Two and are taking some home. Yum!

The Joboy burger was excellent, cooked the way we asked. The pecan smoked bacon was perfect on the burger and the cream cheese filled jalapeño peppers. Since we have never been to Joboy we had six sample sized beers, all were nice examples of the style they were named for. The Porter was one of the best I've had from micro brewery. We'll definitely be heading back soon to try more food and beer.

The new site is nice because it's got more room (though there's a lot of wasted room), but if you're looking for good BBQ, it's not as good as it was in the previous location. The menu seems to have gone "upscale/gourmet" and lost it's appeal as a BBQ place.

Decided to come here on the 4th of July as we were waiting to see the fireworks in Lititz Springs Park. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff is friendly. We did not order appetizers but instead ordered the sampler for two, which is brisket, Chicken, Pulled Pork, and a half rack of ribs, and a choice of 4 sides as well as two biscuits. Our sides were the MAC N Cheese, Hush Puppies, Baked Beans and the Cole Slaw. All were very good, but I personally enjoyed the Cole Slaw and the baked beans. All of the meats were pretty good too. The Brisket was great and the pulled pork was good. The Chicken though was the star of the platter. It was very juicy and the sauce it was glazed with was very tangy. The chicken gets a 10/10. The ribs though are why I am giving JoBoy's 4 stars rather than 5. They had an off flavor to them, I don't know what the problem was because everything else was good. For dessert I ordered the Chocolate Brownie Sundae. It was amazing. Other than the ribs JoBoy's is a very nice restaurant in Lititz and I would go back.

The beer is great. You will like their beer if you like hoppy stuff. The ipas are a little bitter but the reds are higher in ibus and very hoppy. We had the French onion soup and it was very good.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. Very crowded with a 45 minute wait. That should have been a good sign. Ordered the chopped brisket with collard greens and cheesy grits. I did not care for the greens, but the grits were very good. As for the brisket I found it Luke warm, dry and not very smoky. The bbq sauce lacked a kick and was somewhat bland. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the wait staff was friendly and our meal arrived promptly. I will come back again and try something different as a comparison.

The best thing money can buy! Let's spend all of the money on a false front. Save your time and your money. Wanna go somewhere that makes you feel like spending money without getting what you pay for.... This is it!

Our party of three didn't find the best ales and lagers here, but our meals were fabulous. I have to state for the record that this place served me the best beef brisket and mac & cheese that I have EVER had! My tablemates truly enjoyed the ribs and pulled pork, as well. Definitely an enjoyable meal. Probably good that I don't live nearby or I'd be here all the time, gaining a lot of weight! Our service was very good and nicely attentive but not obtrusive. Meal prep at 7 p.m. didn't take all that long. One star off for the drinks (we're pretty picky about our brews, though) and the high prices that are charged for pretty much everything.

Went to Lititz (45 minute drive) just to try Jo-Boy's. We had the smoked wings with a raspberry sriracha glaze and the Sampler for 2-Brisket, ribs, chicken and pulled pork, Sides: fresh cut fries, mac and cheese and collards. The best of the lot: The beer Coming in a close second: Collards-not a hint of bitterness. Very tasty. Back in third: The wings and mac & cheese. Of all the BBQ, only the wings had a hint of smoke. The glaze was too sweet for my taste and, spice-wise, tasted as though the cook just waved a sealed bottle of sriracha over the sweet stuff. Mac and cheese was quite cheesy and not bad. Bringing up the rear: Everything else. No trace of bark on dried out brisket chunks or pulled pork. Ribs were literally fall off the bone-Not my favorite style- couldn't get them to the plate. Chicken was non-descript. 1 star for decor 1 star for service 1 star for the beer and collards. Might go back if I find myself in Lititz; but would stick with the beer and anything not considered BBQ.

Do not go here expecting it to be the Manheim location. That being said..... We didn't stay to eat. We got drinks and left. They have EXCELLENT food. We've had just about everything on their menu, twice over. The homey, inviting Manheim location will be sorely missed, by us. We were excited to come and try the new location. Expecting the menu to grow with the move, it shrunk and with it went some of our favorites. We got the feeling that they're trying to be too fancy. Where's the description for ABT's? Too unsophisticated for Lititz? Super disappointed. We probably won't be back for round two.

Finally! We've been wanting to get to JoBoy's since it opened. Our hesitation was...one of us does not like heavily smoked meats! Well, she wasn't disappointed. Four of us (2 chefs) and two B&B owners had lunch early in the week. Service was excellent; Pub was not crowded. Being foodies, we wanted to order everything on the menu! Decided on soft tacos, Black and Blue Hamburger, and the Smoked Meat Sampler for two! Hamburger Hound loved his meal and wouldn't let anyone sample! Soft tacos were declared delicious with kudos to the tomato barbeque sauce. Three of the four meats on the sampler (pulled pork, brisket, and chicken, were smoked, but not overly so, and all tasted like what they were and had very good texture. The rack of Ribs, like some others have mentioned, had a layer of what looked like burned on skin/barbeque sauce. (This did not make them by any means inedible, just lest tasty than they could have been.) Corn bread was moist, cole slaw, absolutely fresh and NOT too sweet, and the brown butter/garlic scented fresh green beans (gobs of them, thank you), were crunchy and tasty. Headed back up next week for the shrimp grits, steamed mussels, smoked cabblate and smoked salmon. Oh, and by the way, the beers and that unique wine, yum!

So close to a great experience, yet so far away. I expected something better than a chain restaurant specializing in smoked meats but that didn't happen. From the moment I was given a sticky barbecue sauce smeared menu it was mostly downhill. The smoked meats were fatty and the Delmonico steak was greasy. The owner seemed hands on greeting us as we entered the restaurant but the quality of food and service just wasn't there.

Tried to eat dinner on a Monday, party of 3. Several large parties had just been seated. We were told 45 minute wait even with open tables (short a server). A table opened up and a waitress offered to take us but the hostess said we had to wait. Rather than argue we left. Won't be back anytime soon.

My mussles came out cold so I sent them back. When they returned, it felt like they and the plate had been reheated in the fires of Mordor! Save your time and go to The Bulls Head!!

  • Jenn M.

Very expensive for what you get. Hubs had a pulled pork sandwich and I had the sliders. The pulled pork and brisket were good, but the chicken was dry. The buns were like the cheap hamburger buns one gets at a grocery store. It tasted like food one would get at a fair, but the prices reflected what one would pay at a foodie restaurant.

Came back and sampled their beer and had more food. Very much worth your time to stop in! It's a good place to enjoy some BBQ and I love that you can buy multiple "samples" of the beer and aren't limited on the number or to certain types.

I've been here twice now and I'm just not impressed. The space is brand new and is really nice and clean. What this establishment lacks is service and friendliness. On both occasions that my party and I dined here, the service has been horrendous, like "did that just happen horrendous" Food is sub par. The smoked brisket was real nice and tender but everything else that we ordered was just blah. I think we will be just BBQing at home from now on.

Soooo tasty. Good beer. Military appreciation. Perfect ambience. The owner truly knows how to run a restaurant

To start with there was a contrived 15 minute wait for a table. The same five tables sat empty during the time we stood there. Guess it seems more exclusive if you have to wait. Had the pumpkin ale. Just alright. Ordered wings figuring they couldn't screw them up. Just wanted regular BBQ not the funky sauce they used. Well they weren't good at all. Bathroom was out of towels for the two hours we were there. Tough guy owner displays a handgun tucked into his belt while he's in the kitchen, visible to us in the dining room and clearly visible through his shirt when he covered it. I'm all about concealed carry, but what's this guy gonna do? Bark a couple rounds across a crowded bar if he sees something he doesn't like? The PD is less than 100 yards away Dirty Harry. All in all no good. Will go across the street to the Bulls head.

I'm not super familiar with southern food or BBQ but I was pleased with my meal. I got brisket, which I never had before (I was vegetarian for 12 years) and it was a little fatty and that is something I am still not used to. But the flavor was excellent. I also tried their hush puppies, sweet and spicy beans and the jalapeño cheese grits were amazing. My friends grits came out cold from the kitchen but that was a quick fix. All in all I enjoyed my experience and I would go back

Brew Fest 2014 was a great experience and JoBoy's food was a very welcome addition. I had nachos that featured pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and smoked pork. My only regret is that I didn't have more of their DELICIOUS pork on the nachos.

Met good friends here for dinner. It was their first visit; we've been several times since they opened in Manheim. Have to say we were very disappointed. My family & I have patronized this restaurant many times over the years. Unfortunately, it will be a long time before we recommend or return. Wife & I had brisket that tasted ok, but was almost freezing cold! Our friends were not impressed & expressed that they definitely will not be returning. They'd (Joboys management) better get a handle on what's really important to patrons - & it ain't hoity-toity servers. IT IS ALL ABOUT THE FOOD & BEING CONSISTENT-CONSISTENT-CONSISTENT!!! Best get ur game on people!

Had dinner here last evening (7/18). Had intended to order the brisket, but they ran out of it (strike one). We ordered the wings, they were expensive, $10 for 10 small wings. The sauce and smoke level was very good, but they were overcooked and on the dry side. Next we ordered the Ribs, again on the expensive side ($28 for a rack). They had a good smoke level but they were really overcooked. On the menu there was a side of grilled corn with rub. When I got the corn it barely had any grill marks on it and almost no rub. Usually, I trust Yelp reviews, but in this case don't be fooled by the reviews. The BBQ quality is equivalent to the chain BBQ Joints at twice the price.

I have only visited JoBoy's once for lunch on a weekday. I ordered the cabbage appetizer to start. It was topped with crumbled bacon, fresh scallions, and the memphis bbq sauce. It was a half head of cabbage and I honestly could have been full of just that. It was delicious and I will definitely be ordering it again. For the my entree I got a full rack of ribs ($28) that came with choice of two sides. I got the collards and mac n cheese. I felt the collards and the mac were nothing special. They lacked flavor and excitement. The ribs were definitely good, fell off the bone, and had a good bark (char) on them. They too however fell short of amazing-ness. Its one of the only places around to get slow cooked smoked meats though and I will definitely go back for more. Be prepared to shell out some dough though. Didn't mention anything about the beer selection or quality because I just went for the food!

Rode my bike there from Akron (PA not Ohio) on a beautiful Monday night.. Since they let me in, I know they accept sweaty old men with money. Had a nice pale ale at the bar and a fish chowder while waiting for my wife and daughter to join me for dinner. Loved the chowder and corn muffin that came alongside. Nice selection of beers but no liquor served. They do offer some nice local wines however. Got to talking to the nice woman sitting next to me at the bar, and it turns out she was one of the owners, Jo. I warned her this is my first time here and my wife, who is extremely picky, was joining me. Well, my wife loved it. She and my daughter had the sampler for two of brisket, chicken and pulled pork and enjoyed it. I enjoyed it too since I finished it off because those two eat like birds and I eat like a voracious vulture. I had the flatiron steak with green beans and red potatoes - done perfectly. They put some red spiced butter on it, which I didn't like, so I just scraped it off. My wife also enjoyed her glass of sauvignon blanc while my daughter after several tastings picked the Manheim Red ale . I had another pale ale and visited the spacious men's room which had a cool salad bowl like sink and hazy lighting which makes you look a little less crinkled and old in the mirror. The service was excellent even though the server kept calling me dear, which made me a little nervous since most times when I'm referred to as "dear" a reprimand quickly follows. Will definitely be back. I'd give it a 5 but want to give it another try first.

Decided to give JoBoys's a try after passing by it many times when it was still in Manheim. Loved the atmosphere. The décor was peaceful and fun. The food was wonderful. We started with chips, salsa and guacamole. Salsa was fresh and tasty. I had the Carolina pulled pork while my husband had the brisket. Both of us were extremely pleased. I enjoyed a red wine and my husband loved the Manheim Red so much he bought a growler to take with him. Looking forward to bringing our children with us next time we come.

Great food and ambiance! Came here for dinner with my boyfriend and sat at the bar. Beer selection was great- many beers brewed in house. The pale ale and Xtra pale ale were balanced and refreshing. For dinner, I had the brisket sandwich- it just melted in your mouth! My boyfriend had a burger which was juicy and bun was toasted to perfection! We also shared hush puppies- my first experience but they were so good! Overall- great food, friendly staff and chill atmosphere!

Very disappointed. Menu reads: Slow Cooked BBQ Plates: Brisket-topped with...rub Chicken- smoked thighs, topped with our signature dry rub Pulled pork-topped with...rub So, I order the chicken, and get a pile of PULLED chicken, covered in BBQ sauce, no thighs or dry rub to be found! I told the waitress that they got my order wrong, and she says no, that it's pulled chicken in sauce. I asked, where does it says that on the menu? They wrote pulled pork, so why didn't they write freakin' pulled chicken. She looks at the menu, and just says 'yeah, I can see where you'd think that'. She did offer to take it back, but there were no other chicken items, on the menu, so I ate it. Nothing special, couldn't taste anything but the sauce. They also should look at a real southern Mac n cheese recipe. Their's is bland, bland, bland, and not southern, custard based. Stouffer's frozen is better.

Sorely disappointed. What promises to be an upbeat, Southern-contemporary BBQ proved to be much less. Some highlights include a good, basic brisket and sauce, but follow-through lacks. Dry cornbread muffins, butter spread in a small, foil/plastic portions (tacky and tasteless), and overly-spiced sides made for quite a lackluster meal. Quite honestly, this place has the ambiance bones to become much more, now all they need is a kitchen/recipe overhaul. Doable ..... and necessary for survival.

Went to Joboy's with a group of friends early Saturday evening, and was thankful that we were able to get a table for the eight of us. Had NO idea how happening Littitz is on a Saturday! Service was prompt, and I like that they freely offer tiny samples of their brews. That came in handy, as most of the gang I was with are more domestic beer oriented (ack!!!). Speaking of the beer, I was pleased with the selection, and found both that I had to be quite drinkable. Generally speaking, the food was well received. I had the slider platter that others here have mentioned, and quite enjoyed two of the three. The brisket was a tad dry, however. Since the base plate came only with their house made chips - which I found boring and in need of dip - I opted for sides of the sweet and spicy baked beans, and hush puppies. The former were a little too sweet for my tastes, while the latter were pretty darned good! The prices seemed a bit all over the place, with some things being practically bargains. But some of that is because of the chips factor, with more bona fide sides costing extra. Overall a very enjoyable experience, leaving me regretful that we had to hurry off to a hockey game in Hershey (go Bears!).

Interesting beers on tap and an intimate dark setting make for a nice time at JoBoy. The service is good and they're attentive. Food is just ok. I'm not sure if I had brisket or pork. I ordered brisket, but it wasn't slices the way I've had at countless other places. Plus it was dry and needed a lot of sauce. Fried okra was awesome so definitely get that. The mussels also looked really good. You get a great portion!

The new site is nice because it's got more room (though there's a lot of wasted room), but if you're looking for good BBQ, it's not as good as it was in the previous location. The menu seems to have gone "upscale/gourmet" and lost it's appeal as a BBQ place.

I've eaten here three times and have been extremely satisfied with both the food and beer!

Joboys is BEYOND amazing. The food, the beer, the atmosphere, all stellar. Highly highly recommend!

Beer was awesome. SMASH ipa was great. Pork and ribs were great. Atmosphere very nice. Will definitely return. They REALLY need a GF (celiac) beer to make it complete.

I love this place especially seeing as how they serve a lot of the southern food I came to love from my late grandmother's cooking and my college days in Atlanta, GA!!!

I like the new place, but it kind of lost something in the move. Miss the popcorn and ghost pepper powder.
