Ok, fair's fair. In my last review I mentioned how the sweets weren't as good as the breads. Well, we gave them another shot with the Cherry Danish/Strudel and it was very nice. Nuking it for a few seconds made it like it just came out of the oven. Perfect.

Came to get a cupcake for my sweet tooth craving and it was seriously the biggest waste of $6 ever! We bought a chocolate and a pumpkin spice and both were freezing cold. The frosting was extra thick and overly sweet, I was really not impressed. The girls over the counter were also not helpful. We were trying to pick out specific specialty cupcakes we had to point and after she picked up the wrong one, we said, "No, actually the chocolate on chocolate" a huge sigh as if it was the biggest bother. We waited to get home to have our cupcakes, and I was highly disappointed. I don't know if anything is even baked on the premise, since for a mom and pop bakery, it didn't smell delicious like most bakeries do. I will not be returning.

An excellent, clean bakery with lots of traditional Italian bread and desserts including rolls, Tiramisu, and Cannoli. The bakery is reasonably priced, and they even offer specials and coupons. The staff is also friendly, courteous, and you can go in and buy what you want fast or they will answer questions you have.

We moved to Fairless Hills from Philly 8 months ago. Apparently suburbia does not seem to know what a hard roll is. How can an Italian bakery NOT sell hard rolls, or maybe they think they do, but trust me, they don't. I have to travel 15 miles back into the city to get a decent roll. If a bakery feels inclined to put the name "Italian" in its name, the least they could do is produce a good roll, an Italian staple.

We happened to be in the mood for canoli's and drove right passed. Their Italian Rum Cake looked great, but I wasn't going straight home so I will try next time. Boston creme puff was delish and nice and cold on a hot summer day. Canoli's were also good, not great like Termini's in S. Philly but still decent. I hope to try the breads and rolls next time, as well as all the single serve pastries...Really missing that Tiramisu now too!

The sweet rolls here are just delicious. Toast them lightly in the oven for a few minutes and spread with a thin layer of unsalted butter. The exterior forms a super thin, crispy shell and the inside is light, warm, and fluffy. Just a light schmear of butter is enough. You won't need anything else, including jelly, since the roll has just the perfect amount of sweetness. The sesame kaisers are pretty good too, especially when paired with roast turkey and gravy; the exterior is slightly crispy with plenty of seeds. The mini sticks are a great option if you love the crunchy crust; I have, on occassions, just nibbled on one for lunch. They are also great with mozzarella and prosciutto sandwiched in the middle. Prices are great and kaisers are buy a dozen, get 1/2 dozen free on Tues and sticks are BOGO on Fri (I'm pretty sure although not 100% - it changes sometimes). However, because everything is baked fresh, I wouldn't recommend stocking up unless you have a group event.

I have to agree that the rolls are the best. My family always gets them whenever we have a big dinner and I usually end up making sandwiches nonstop for a week cause I don't want the rolls to go to waste. When I was a kid, I always wanted their sheet cakes for my birthday cake since I wasn't too big on sugary icing. They would use a creme frosting that wasn't too sugary, but it was just right. The cake itself was perfect as well. I really hope they still have those cakes. Mmm.

It was a shame because I really wanted to like this bakery. Especially after reading the reviews and moving to the area, I was looking forward to coming here. After walking into the door and seeing the assortment of goodies in front of me, I waited for someone to help me. Two women saw me and blatantly walked away from me. Another younger girl was cleaning the bread case and saw me and was the only one nice enough to help me. After requesting for two canolies (one for myself and another to take home as surprise to my sick boyfriend), the nicer girl went in the back to prepare them for me. Granted, there were 30 minutes to closing but this is still unacceptable behavior for the two women to just walk away from me as I walked into the door. While the canolies were being packaged in the back for me by the third girl, a young family walked in and they too were ignored by the first two women. Soon they turned and left without buying anything. I was appalled by the rudeness and only bought the canolies because the third girl was nice enough to help me. After trying the canolies, I have to say that they were pretty good but I will not be rushing back to the establishment because they could take some lessons on customer service.

The Italian People's Bakery is located in the shopping center at the corner of Bristol-Oxford Valley Road and Woodbourne Road in Levittown. I'm told that there are other stores in New Jersey, as well, but this is the location that I am familiar with. The bakery is a stand-alone building that looks like an old Pizza Hut (the same kind of roof) in the H Mart shopping center. The People's Bakery makes some of the freshest, most delicious bread in the Philadelphia region. Most Italian rolls are really mass-produced nowadays (even Amoroso's), but the rolls here provide a glimpse into what the Italian bread of Philly must have been like decades ago, when the bread was still handmade. They have hoagie rolls, large loaves of bread, and every other kind of Italian bread imaginable. They also have desserts (so watch your diet if you come here because you won't be able to resist!). Unfortunately, bread doesn't stay fresh long, so I suggest picking it up the same day you intend to eat it. This place gets 5 stars in my book for affordability and amazingly yummy baked goods!

The BEST wheat rolls ever!!!. Lightly toast them in the oven so the outside is slightly crunchy but the inside is warm and doughy. Orgasmic :)

This is the BEST place to get bread of the Italian variety. I absolutely love the dinner rolls, I could seriously sustain my own existence on nothing but bread from Italian People's Bakery. They make the kind of bread that is so good it doesn't even need butter.
