My husband and I love Schwalm's, Nothing fancy (would classify it as a diner-type restaurant), but great home cooking. I still give it a 5-star rating because of price, good food, and service. We've gone there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and have never been disappointed. And as others have mentioned, their desserts are wonderful!

My 5 star rating is based on the price/value/expectation equation. No, it's not a 5 star restaurant, it's a 5 star little diner. Friendly staff. Our waitress was as sweet, cute, friendly and nice as they come. I asked, and she recommended, the turkey platter. It was excellent. A generous portion and very tasty. She said their desserts are all either made in house or by a little old lady down the street. Based on the coconut cream pie that I had I believe her. Huge portion and delicious. Dinner for 2 with 1 dessert was $18.44 - hard to beat. I brought my own wine which makes it all the better. If you're looking for a good meal, good friendly service at a VERY reasonable price I can recommend Schwalm's.

Excellent little, small town diner. The quality for the price is great (i.e., adjust your expectations to the price and you won't be disappointed).

If you like pre-prepared frozen foods, this is the place for you. I don't know if it's what we ordered, but both my wife and I felt like both our meals were lacking of any flavor and were definitely not home cooked. I got a chicken fried chicken and she got the fried scallops. The wife also said her brocoli wasn't very fresh either. Very bland and frozen tasting in general. I think a lot of the people that like this place must be regulars from in town that haven't tried anywhere better. Average customer age was probably senior citizen if that says anything. There are surely better places around that actually make there own food instead of serving frozen stuff.

Great PA Dutch diner. Schwalm's offers quick service, friendly local staff and excellent desserts. The food is typical PA Dutch. It's also typical diner fare. The prices are hard to beat. I recommend their soups and special local cuisine -- like filling!

We were traveling through the area and decided to stop here based on the great Yelp ratings. We were delighted to find that they were accurate. This is a local family restaurant with friendly waitresses and excellent home-style food. We tried the roast turkey (happy to find that it was REAL turkey), served with a delicious cranberry salad. The cheeseburger was excellent and side salad was fresh, though all colorless iceberg lettuce. I highly recommend their chocolate milkshakes. Everything was served promptly, in the order we requested and with a genuine smile. Highly recommend this restaurant.

This is nothing like your typical diner. It's cozy. The servers get to know you. It has a nice homey feel. Great to bring children. I have gone there for eggs and toast because that is what I like for breakfast. Simple and delicious.

Loved it. Like stepping into a time machine. Cook with his paper cap and all. I was greeted with a smile and glass of water upon bellying up to the counter. (How many times does that happen anywhere?) . My breakfast was simple and fast (even though they were very busy) and my coffee and water were never less than half full. I will say my omelette was more like scramble. Food was pleasantly ungreasy as far as diner style breakfasts go.

I love this little diner. Obviously, if you're looking for 5-star cuisine, this isn't the place to go. On the other hand, if you like a good home-style soup and a sandwich, you can't beat it. The prices are great and the service is generally excellent. Their pies are yummy too! Try the blueberry crumb if you get a chance.

I really liked this diner. The food and the service was excellent! I have been here twice and have been happy with it. I think they have the best filling, it's such a great blend of spices, potatoes and bread! YUMMY! Their desserts are also great!

I got a good bit of love for my hometown diner, and when I think of "breakfast place in Lebanon", Schwalm's comes to the top of my mind. Schwalm's is the home of what has to be the one of the cheapest breakfasts around. Seriously, coffee, eggs, bacon, and toast for less than $3.00? That's tough to beat. Add in the Lebanon county decor and PA Dutch vibe and you've got an enjoyable morning. On the down side, food is typical diner fare, service can be spotty especially in busy periods, and I've had the occasional 'Meh' experience there. In the end though, it's tough to find a better deal for the money than Schwalm's, I wouldn't cook it for you for what they charge.

Best chipped beef ever. Slowish service but we weren't in a rush. Surprisingly busy for a weekday at 10am. Prices are great and servings are large. My side of bacon consisted of around 8 pieces and was maybe $3.

I have been here twice. The first time I had pork and sauerkraut but it was mostly sauerkraut with a couple shreds of pork in it. It had a good flavor, but the portion was pretty small. Last time I was there, I just had a grilled cheese and fries so you can't really mess that up. The service is good, but the people that go here are interesting. I don't think they are used to seeing non-locals. Don't be alarmed when you go there, because everyone stares at you. Just ignore the locals and enjoy your meal!

A wonderful family owned restaurant, similar to a diner, or anything else you'd find in a small town. Portions are large, piping hot, and the food tastes fresh. Everything seemed homemade. I highly recommend the hot turkey, and potato filling. They accept VISA, MasterCard, and Discover which I appreciated. One big complaint: their menu specifies you get ONE beverage refill; even though they charge almost $2 for a soda that comes in a rather small glass. Everyone knows soda cost pennies for a restaurant. Reduce the price, or get rid of this ridiculous policy. Because of this, I simply drank water, which meant less profit for the restaurant. Silly in my opinion!

The last three times we were very disappointed. Uncooked chicken, wrong orders, poor service. This place has gone down hill fast which is such a shame. We used to always enjoy going there and wish things were like they used to be. What turned us off the first time was when the cook, with his plastic gloves on, came out from the kitchen and counted and removed money from the register. After that we both watch him go back into the kitchen and start handling food. Without changing his gloves! Gross! We removed this place from our list but after some months went back to give them a second chance. That's when my order came out all wrong and my wifes fried chicken came to our table raw in the center. The server took it back to have it put back in the fryer. Problem was that my wife had already pulled it apart. We paid for our drinks and walked out. Service has not been the same since Connie left. There is more to this then I will write here. I'm considering my next writing be to the county health department!

Pretty darn good...and the price was great! The people were nice, the place was clean, and the food was pretty darn good. We had the breakfast specials and tried the scrapple (We're new to PA)... And while this was not a 5 star rave review rye of place, it was pretty darn good.

Great small town, pa dutch cooking. Their chicken pot pie is some of the best around. The portion size is always decent. They have a great selection of what appear to be homemade cakes and pies. Its not very large, but don't let that scare you away.
