Always a winner for a quick dinner or just to sit for appetizers and a drink. Staff is very nice. Love the smaller portions offered

I can not even count the number of times I have been here. It is my favorite little local place. The food and drink specials during happy hour are unbeatable. Try the delicious $1 tacos and $4 margs on thursday! The drinks are always well made with the right amount of alcohol. I have tried most of the food menu as well. The crab cakes here are probably the best in town. Filled with huge chunks of lump crab and hardly any filler; they are broiled perfectly rather than battered and fried or overcooked. Also love the corned beef special or reuben. The rye bread is delicious and you cannot beat Mr. Ron's cole slaw. Other tasty sandwiches include the roast beef dip, cajun chicken, and cheesesteaks. I have never ordered any, but my friends love the $5 burgers on Wednesdays. As far as appetizers, the fries here are great. They are so crispy and tasty, they must be double-fried. Try them as original or crab fries and you won't be disappointed. On a lighter side, the salads here are also very yummy. The ingredients always seem fresh. My favorites are the mediterranean or asian chicken salads. The half-size is plenty even for a dinner. The only thing lacking here is the service which isn't always prompt. It's understandable when it is busy but when you need something and see your server standing around chatting with co-workers, that gets a bit annoying.

Great experience. A ton of great beers on tap and all foods out standing. Get then nachos to start off, you won't. Be disappointed. Had the prime rib melt sandwich. Wow. Greet sandwich and reasonable prices for the service quality and food quality. Must do.

Service was great and so was the food. We had a party of 6 with 3 young kids. We were all happy with our choices. I ordered the spicy burger, and it was! The food was quality. We are rarely (if ever) disappointed with Chaps.

Chaps is a great place for the area. A low key neighborhood restaurant and bar that consistently has delicious food and beer choices. My friends and I like to come on weekend nights for drinks and pool.

Came in here for my first drink! It was one of the only bars in the area that was open past 12 (suburban life). The bartender was so nice - she helped me pick out my first drink (cherry long island iced tea). One of the best nights in the 'burb made by Chap's Taproom!

Very friendly service, nice craft beer selection and food was good. Nice local establishment and very close to Jeffersonville Golf Club. Good for an after round drink.

First time here was last night. Food is excellent! I had the Blackened Fish Tacos and French Fries. Both were delicious. Their fries are nice and crispy. They must be doing something right, the place was packed.

Chap's is a solid local bar with good drink specials and decent food, The servers and bartenders are attentive, even when the place is busy. There's a solid selection of rotating beers on tap with even more bottles available. There's always some sort of domestic drink special going on. I usually go for trivia on Wednesday. There's poker on Tuesday and live music on the weekend right now. Probably the best place on this stretch of road.

Although the DJ that performed the night of my visit played a lot of older, throwback songs, I noticed the crowd was much older too. We came here for a birthday party for a family friend (her daughter's 21st birthday). We noticed it was super busy when we arrived; we got lucky and scored a spot as someone was leaving. Like I mentioned, we quickly found that the majority of the crowd was easily 40's+ (apparently, Friday nights are a younger crowd, I was told). I wasn't really impressed; definitely one of those places that you need a good group of friends to make good! They do have tvs everywhere as well as pool tables (2) and some arcade games in the corner. We had some fun people watching but left after about an hour.

Friendly neighborhood bar with great food and drinks. Can get pretty crowded on weekends, but the bartenders are on top of their game and are quick to get you drinks. The food is pretty average compared to any other restaurants around. Nothing is terrible, but nothing is spectacular either. Food and drink prices are pretty reasonable. They also have daily food and drink specials which are pretty great. I always tend to stop here compared to their competition a few buildings away when I'm in the mood for food and drinks and in the area.

This place is a very reliable place to go for a good time. Everyone is super friendly, and the service is always at least decent. It's not the fanciest place or the most exciting bar I've been to, but I think it's a great local spot. The prices are always good and they have plenty of TVs and a couple of good bar games. The food is pretty average, but it gets better and better after every drink. If your looking for a chill place to hang I would definitely recommend it.

Two stars, simply because this place could be SO much better if it wasn't for the shitty service. I shouldn't have to wave a $20 at the bartender after waiting in the same spot on a slow night for 10 minutes. I also shouldn't have to deal with the snobby waitstaff when I come here. Also, very "cliche-y" crowd, but won't blame Chap's for that. Otherwise good food and specials. Rather go to Nipper's or Chickie's and Pete's for the game...but if friends insist on Chap's, I'll reluctantly go.

I go to Chaps about once a week, if not more. My bf and I live very close. They have trivia every Wednesday night and the trivia guy is great. I also love their $3.50 LIT special on Fridays. I love their crab cakes and all their appetizers are great. Service can be slow at times and management has a tendency of not taking responsibility for their slow service or mess ups. However, with that I enjoy the atmosphere and location and will continue to go there.

For years I've been treating Chap's as my standard, local bar. Until (I forgot when) their draft beer list was discovered. So I decided to review and point out all the things I've been taking for granted with this nice bar: -- Awsome selection of beer. Definitely above average for a neiborhood bar! -- Great daily specials. On BOTH food and drinks. -- It's a great place for groups and gatherings. -- Great deal for Super Bowl -- free buffet during half time plus other specials. The only reason I took 1 star off was the inconsistancy. Mixed drinks especially, also services and wait time. But I keep on going back, even knowing it could happen. So a solid 4-star!

Chaps is a great neighborhood bar and an outstanding restaurant. The food is consistently good and the staff is always pleasant. I especially like how the owner, Kathy, makes everyone feel so welcome and comfortable.

    1. This is a towney bar. 2. It's a great place to watch the eagles 3. Their lobster bisque is really good 3. There might be some creepy people. But that's ok because the food is good.

Great atmosphere! Me and my girlfriend sat at the bar for dinner. Great selection of beers. Had the carribean jerk wings, awesome! The spinach and crab dip were great too! The bartenders were very friendly and helpful. I had the steak and shrimp for my main course which is the only reason I can't give out a 5 star rating. While the shrimp was great, the NY strip was rubbery and had no seasoning. This is a great place to go to watch a game, but I'll pass on the steak next time.

I love their beer list and the attentive service of the bartenders. Their roast beef sandwich was awesome. This is a great friendly place with reasonable prices.

I come in here at least once a week. It's a solid local bar that has a lot to offer. I've come here for family dinners, a date, girl's night, and to watch football games. With that being said, there's something for everyone here. I've never had a bad meal here. I'd even go as far as saying that this place has really good meals, aside from being a bar. I usually always get an order of wings, the boom boom sauce is great. Also, on the weekend the lobster bisque is very good. The atmosphere is always friendly and I've easily been able to has conversations and make friends with strangers I've met here.

Great drinks specials and happy hour deals. Food is tasty. I love playing darts, great place for a game, lots of room. Good place to go with a large group. Lots of tvs.

I watched the Phillies win the 2008 World Series here so this place will always have sentimental value for me. All Philly sports teams look better on their 14' projection tv. They also have the best rotating draft beer selection in the area. Their 30 taps offer great craft beers and your domestic favorites. (my current favorite is the Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Wild Ale) Flights are available if you can't make up your mind. The food is great too. My favorites are the work's roast beef sandwich and their wings with Chap's mild sauce . You can substitute sweet potato fries for regular fries now, which is awesome! They also have great Happy Hour Specials (M-F 4-6pm) I love the half price drafts!

Love hate relationship with this place. It has so much potential to be a great place to hang and drink, yet somehow it never really amounts to much every time I go there. Like, it has pool tables, darts, ample seating at the bar and around the place, and a superb selection of beers on tap. But becomes undone by the negatives, sub-standard food, dead crowd, bad music, and no vibrancy to the place. It definitely fills a need though, perfect spot to just grab a beer or two and maybe catch a half of a game or something. If you want to make a night out of this place don't expect it to be cooler worthy at work the next day.

This place is pretty sweet for being a local bar and restaurant. The long islands are quite nice and they have pretty good specials. I thought their food was pretty good- I can't complain. I mean all in all, it's a good bar with good bar food.

Went there for the Eagles game on Sunday and it's a great place to go watch sports. They have a projection screen in the back so you don't miss a play and the food is really good. If you don't want to watch the game they also have tables in the back away from the crowds. If you like Corn Chowder then this is your place!

This place is ok. It's always packed but I'm not sure why. The waitstaff is rude and the food is just ok. You can always watch a game, which I like, but that's really all it has going for it. I'm not sure what the appeal is, but maybe I've just been in on off nights.

In summary, Chap's is your standard local bar. They're a decently sized bar, several bar tables, and a larger area with tables meant for food patrons only. I've come here a few times over the years, and never come close to being excited by its presence. The bar itself isn't all that bad, just nothing out of the ordinary. They do have some good specials, but I can't tell you more because I don't want to have to sift through an even larger crowd on $3 LIT Fridays.. oops. The bar can get pretty packed, and when it does service slows down hardcore. The bartenders are friendly enough, but I've never had particulary friendly table-side servers. On my last trip I ordered food for the first time. Just a normal chicken cordon bleu sandwich: chicken, ham, swiss, honey mustard sauce. Chicken was cooked okay, not dry, but it was pretty bland. However, it came on a rosemary (?) focaccia roll that was actually pretty good. Not sure where they get the rolls from, but I might go back for them!

I don't think there's much that Chaps does wrong. Maybe that's why it can get rather packed. The food is good and there's a good selection of beers. Chaps has little bit of everything big circle bar, pool tables, connect four, internet jukebox, live music sometimes, and no bar would be complete without a golden tee arcade machine. Some people might find fault with an uppity barkeep, but I never had this problem, must be because I'm so handsome. Though Chaps is a popular bar it's not immune to the Jersey drain. The Jersey drain happens in the summertime in this area, when people go down the shore, and even on Saturday a titan of the industry like Chaps can find itself short of bar patrons.

There is really only one reason I come to this place.... the beer. I've sampled the selections at a number of area bars and while some may be nicer or have speedier service, none are on par with Chap's draft list. Additionally, they have some pretty awesome daily specials, one of which is $3 Sam Adams on Tuesdays (along with a free poker tournament). Their food is nothing special and is on par with what you'd expect from a neighborhood bar (although their buffalo shrimp are awesome). All in all, when I feel like grabbing a few beers after a long day of work, 4 out of 5 times I end up here..and I never regret the decision.

These may be some of the best chicken wings in the West Norriton area! Thursday night is taco night, each taco is $1, all you can eat I believe.. They have a decent selection of beer on tap, a decent bar with a lot of different kinds of liquor. There are pool tables and some other arcade games if you don't necessarily go there to watch the Eagles games.. There is also a room towards the back for a more social gathering. chapstap.com

let me start by saying I've been to Chaps a number of times, most of the time I've experienced a good time and fairly good service. The bar is clean, the food is good but to be honest, the service sucks sometimes. Especially this past Saturday. My roommate and I met a bunch of friends there, we sat at the bar and ordered drinks. It took the bartender a good few minutes to come near us so i could grab a menu, after i got the menu it was like 10 or so minutes before someone came close enough to get their attention and asked me if I would like to order. The guy right next to me, also asked for a menu, I guess the bartender knew him because he was waited on right away. After I got the sammich which was pretty good, my roommate had his empty beer glass taken by the bartender, they didn't ask if he wanted another. It took a good 5 minutes or so to flag down another bartender to get another beer. I felt bad for the one good bartender they had, he was all over the place. The other 2 weren't worth a shit. The were too busy cleaning glasses then waiting on customers. I also noticed a bunch of other patrons were having the same problem getting drinks. The sad part it wasn't that busy!!

Great beers and ciders on tap. Great menu. We ordered the specials tonight some boneless wings and St lucifer fries. We started with a couple shots of fireball and then tested the pumpkin cider. It is amazing. We are celebrating the end of our second week in Philadelphia and always celebrating the life and memory of our sweet little girl, Ava. The food was delivered fast the fries were amazing. The boneless wings were just okay. Service is really good here even when they are busy
