We tried this place when we were in the area visiting Ohiopyle. This place is off the beaten path a little bit and is actually located on a residential street. We were a little concerned at first because the exterior is a little off putting as the building could use some work and yard a little landscaping. The menu is unfortunately out of date as there are several items which we discovered were no longer available after attempting to order them. All of that aside, our entrees were actually decent. My husband recommends the homemade pasta. My eggplant parm was good but I think I would try something different if I were to return. Their sauce has good flavor and portions are large, so come hungry. Entrees served with warm bread and salad. The salad was incredibly underwhelming and seemed like an afterthought as all if consisted of was iceberg lettuce, 2 cucumber slices, 1 grape tomato and a pepperoncini. Overall, if in the area I would eat here again but rate the overall experience only a 3/5. The interior of the restaurant was more up to date but the décor was very plain, pariticularly in the large side dining room where we were seated.

Fabrizi's doesn't look like much from the outside, but their homemade sauces and pasta will keep you coming back. Prices are fair for this sort of food and the atmosphere is very intimate. There are many Italian restaurants in the Uniontown area and Fabrizi's is usually my go-to!

Came here with my girlfriend to celebrate our anniversary, on a cold blustery day in early February. While the decor was nothing to write home about, the food was certainly good. I highly recommend the hand-made pasta with meatballs. We split the plate with creamy pesto, and it was a filling dinner at a good price. That said, the menu appears to have changed recently, so I'd take any older reviews with a grain of salt.

My husband and I had a lovely dinner here while on vacation. Fabrizi's changed ownership about 10 months ago, and the new owners definitely know what they are doing. The meal starts with fabulous homemade bread served with pesto in olive oil. I couldn't stop eating the bread it was so good. DH ordered fettuccine alfredo with chicken. I had gnocchi with meat sauce. You can build your pasta any way you like, with several pasta and sauce options and add your preferred meat or shrimp. Both meals came with salads, and we opted for the house dressing, which has a savory flavor that we enjoyed over the fresh, crisp veggies. DH's alfredo sauce was smooth and creamy served over homemade noodles. DH stuffed himself silly because it was the best he had eaten in a long time. My gnocchi was perfectly cooked. I hate when gnocchi is too hard or so overcooked it is mush. The meat sauce had a ton of meat, no skimping here, and the red sauce it was served in was rich and flavorful. The gnocchi was also served with two large meatballs that I didn't eat because the gnocchi was too good to stop eating, and as mentioned above, I ate all the bread. The portions were huge so we didn't have room for dessert, but we did have a lot of leftovers to take with us. The decor and atmosphere are typical for the area, somewhat plain. If you want pretentious and foofy, go to Nemacolin. If you want good food at a reasonable cost, go to Fabrizi's.

We stopped at Fabrizi's on a whim while traveling the back roads of PA. This little Italian Restaurant sits in what appears to be a transformed house. When we sat down I noticed by the Menu that they had been there since the 1940's so I had figured they have been doing something right all these years. As odd as we are we actually ordered Burgers and a Meatball sandwich which was taking a risk in a primarily Italian Restaurant. To our surprise all the food was great! Overall this place has a lot of character and also serves really good food. If your traveling on Route 40 in this part of PA I highly recommend taking the Jumonville side road and giving this place a try.

Probably the best italian food I've ever had. Excellent soup, great homemade pasta, and great tasting steak. Too bad, I'm just visiting the place for a conference and won't get to eat here more often.

Good home Italian fare, sauces a little heavy on the salt, but homemade pasta good. Garlic bread nice. Off the beaten path, but reasonably priced. Surprisingly empty on a Friday night. A good option in the area.

Great start to the meal with warm bread and pesto sauce, and the meal just got better after that. Delicious homemade pasta with pesto cream sauce! We used a coupon for a free appetizer, cajun bacon wrapped shrimp was very tasty. Service was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We would go back when back in the area.

This place has my favorite sauce ever. It is amazingly smooth and flavorful. I live out of state and want to visit everytime I'm back in the Uniontown area. Fabrizis also makes homeade spaghetti which is a rarity in most Italian restaurants. My faves there include the chicken or veal parm (pick your protein) and the antipasto salad. My only negative comments are about their acoustics in the back room (it can get very loud) and the ranch dressing... I guess I just don't like the brand (others have agreed with me on this). This is easy to remedy though, just get the house dressing, it's great!

This place is worth stopping at if you are in the area. No frills on the outside but the inside is nice. The food was generally decent but the homemade pasta was excellent. You have to get the homemade pasta. I had the veal with homemade fettuccine and was not disappointed.

This place was very cute and the service was excellent. However, we were quite disappointed with the food. We were visiting from out of state and had found this place online. We researched the menu online and found several delicious options that we wanted to try. When we arrived they did not even have 1/4 of the menu available that was listed on their website. They also only offered 2 types of red wine, both of which were very sweet and did not pair well with the foods. We went out of our way to try this place and would not return. The homemade pasta and tomato sauce were the best items were tried by far. The strip steak was also very tasty but, was very overcooked.

This place is a bit off the beaten path but well worth the trip. I don't give many 5 star reviews but this warrants one. The bread was fresh with just the right crispy crust. Always a good sign in an Italian restaurant. The server was prompt and helpful, pointing out that the portions were very generous. We split an order of spaghetti with pesto cream sauce and got a second side salad. The salad was crisp and the blue cheese dressing was rich with chunks of cheese. Might want to order the dressing on the side unless you like lots. The homemade spaghetti order was split for us in the kitchen avoiding that messy step at the table. Each of us had one tasty meatball along with the yummy pasta. We passed on dessert as we were both happily full.

Mehnu was ok but rather limited. No fish on the menu and almost every entree that was not pasta was steak. They have gluten free pasta. Unexceptional iceberg-only salad and lukewarm wedding soup. Pasta dishes were ok, but portions varied a great deal. Sister-in-law's pasta dish with chicken could have fed three, but my eggplant parm dinner was more of an appetizer. Entrees for our table of 9 came out cold. Our waitress was likeable, personable, and clueless. I ordered unsweetened iced tea with lemon, received sweet tea without lemon. Wife ordered gluten free pasta dish, and received breaded eggplant parm with GF pasta as a side. To be fair the waitress immediately removed wife's entree from bill, but still. So, would we eat here again? Maybe. But I would explore other options first and fallback to this place if nothing better was available.

First time at this restaurant and did enjoy the food. I had a chicken caesar salad with a herb dressing, chicken was a little over cooked, dressing was wonderful. We had four in our party and all enjoyed the food. Our waitress was very nice and the restaurant was very clean. I will definitely return.

The gnocchi with creamy pesto sauce was out of this worlld, as was the appetizer, Cajun bacon wrapped shrimp. We will definitely be back, what can I say but, Mmm!

I've been eating here for years. It's been under new ownership the last year or two and it's only gotten better. The atmosphere is nothing too special but the food is great. Absolutely the best breaded veal cutlet I've ever had. The homemade spaghetti is wonderful. I've always thought their sauce was an acquired taste but I really like it for change of pace from most places. I've had a lot of the items on the menu and there is nothing bad. I highly recommend eating here to anyone who loves italian food.

Yelped restaurants in the area and this place showed up and I'm very glad it did!!! It was late on a weekday night and very few other people there but the hostess was super nice and the food was awesome! I don't usually write reviews was I had to write one for this place! The buffalo shrimp was the best I've ever had ( they make the sauce themselves as opposed to dumping the shrimp in Tabasco)!!! And the pasta cacciatore was so flavorful! And we got a free appetizer because we checked in on yelp! Would definitely come here again!!

Decided to try some local flavor while staying in the area. The bread and pesto was awesome and I could have made just that my meal. Their Shrimp Scampi Pasta was a little skimpy on shrimp but had a great flavor. The lasagna and ravioli was good but had a lot of tomato in the sauce. Service was great and friendly staff.

What a fabulous find! As a frequent visitor at Nemacolin, this is an ideal addition to the full resort experience. Take a moment to step off property for a quaint and wonderful Italian meal that will make you feel like you are at Nonna's house. The pastas were fresh and delightful and the the service was bright and filled with cheer. A fantastic place for what our family calls "Pasta Sunday"!

This was my second visit to Fabrizi's in the past few months. I had a great meal both times. Their ravioli with meatballs is excellent. Tasty sauce and hand-made pasta make all of the difference!

I have to blame the owner for using a server who waited on us who may have been a relative brought in due to staffing shortages as she could not answer basic questions about what was on the menu, forgot to bring us silverware after we asked twice, and forgot to bring a salad we ordered. She had to keep running back to the kitchen to get answers to our questions which made ordering an ordeal. We were also charged for a side order that the server did not say would cost extra when we ordered it. When we complained, the owner or manager came over and said basically, "too bad you ordered it". Any normal restaurant would have take it off the bill, but not this one. They obviously aren't looking for repeat business. On top of everything, the food was mediocre at best. A very unpleasant experience.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
