Our go-to bar/restaurant when we go to Hershey concerts. Great beer selection including some local IPAs (Victory, Troegs) and a properly poured Guinness; all are $5 a pint. Food is exceptional for typical pub fare. Try the flatbread pizzas or the salmon BLT. Very good. Can get very very busy prior to a big concert. They do not take reservations nor do they do call ahead seating. When busy, there is always a line for the ladies bathroom. Parking is plentiful and you can leave the car there and walk to the stadium in 10 minutes.

It is a chain restaurant and you can tell by the menu and feel of the place. The place is forgettable. The food was decent, but nothing to get excited about. In fact, most of our party had a tough time selecting from the menu. Average food where sauces try to steal the show. Would I stop here again? Maybe, but will look at other options.

Got onto the patio with only a 5-10 minute wait for 2 on a Saturday! Potstickers were incredible and perfectly browned. Loved the Wine Flight! 5oz. Sirloin with baked potato and grilled asparagus was amazing! And the chocolate mousse with raspberries was a perfect finish! I can imagine that everything here is above par!

Everything we had here was good, including the service. We had a wonderful dining experience and I am going to try to duplicate the Key Lime Mousse at home so I dont have to travel 3 hours just to taste it again!

Worst service ever! We had to ask another server for silverware after we got our appetizers! He never cleared the app dishes, soups bowls, dishes, etc. The waitress that got out silverware and app plates, should of received our waiters tip! Disappointed!

Never been to a Houlihan's before and now that I've been...don't know why! I really loved the atmosphere and the food is decent portions for great prices. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. After a day at Hershey park, we just wanted to unwind, take our time and relax a bit. We got the spinach dip for an appetizer and boy was it good. The dip itselt was average, it was the 'chips' that came with it that really made the dish. It wasn't chips! they served crackers, with sour cream, salsa and cilantro topping, this just made the dip even tastier! For my entree I had the southwest wrap? it was really tasty, my friends got pasta and fish dishes for their entrees and they looked just as good. I also went for the Martini Flight. Hibiscus, mandarin and cosmo. I dont rec getting the regular cosmo. so try something new! Hibicus was my favorite :) If you are looking for a family restaurant while in Hershey, come here!

The ribs are to die for! I have gotten them before and they are just like I remember. The waitress was nice. She even let us know the concert was canceled.

Good food, service was below average but nice atmosphere! Overall, a good place! :) The wings are small but Thai ones are the delicious! And the temperature of restaurant was perfect! It hit the spot for me.

We may have to wait sometimes, but the food is always good. One of the best steaks I have had in Hershey. The cocktails are great too. The GM Brian Daly will do anything he can to make sure you have a good dining experiance. He has stopped to talk to my girlfriend and myself many times.

I'm gonna say this, I'm not normally a fan of going to the "touristy places" in Hershey restaurants. They can be over hyped and not as good as some other local joints. But for this being so close to the park, and in the heart of Hershey, it really is very good. Have gone there twice in the last 2 months. First time was for someone's birthday, I had the flat bread crust BBQ chicken Pizza. The 2nd time I got the stuffed chicken with mash potatoes and grilled asparagus. The Pizza was good but i'm kind of a large guy. It was just a tad un filling for me. (ok for lunch) but i wouldn't get it for dinner. it won't "fill fill" you up if you're really hungry and can eat a lot. Now, the Stuffed chicken was very good. the stuffing with cheese was very tasty and the chicken was well cooked. The only gripe i have with that dish is the breading on the chicken was TO HARD and almost seemed over crispy.. I had to use a knife to cut the breading instead of a fork... although the fork would go through the chicken just fine.. My Better half ended up getting a burger the first time and was not over joyed but not disappointing. The Burger was average and would be fine to have, just nothing to write home about. However the 2nd time we went she ended up getting the almond crusted tilapia fish, with grilled asparagus and fresh fruit. she got the HALF (small) size and it was totally enough for dinner. I tasted it, (and I'm NOT A FISH FAN) and I would totally get that next time. It was NOT fishy.. it was really moist and good. the crusting was almondy and was very well done.. Not too crispy not underdone. I would say if i go back i will get that dish. I Highly recommend it. It's very good. They have the same dish at Devons (in the same building) which cost twice as much and probably made in the same kitchen. (i think the 2 places share the same kitchen). I've been told the dish is VERY similar they just use a slightly better crusted outside to coat the fish at Devons.. But i don't see how it's really good as it is.. Overall I'd say this is a great place to go on dates, to go with family's and just to get some good food. It's a "tad" on the noisy side but it's very good and clean and hardly noticeable. Will definitely go back again. (just try not to go friday / sat night... sooo busy)

We always have great food at Houlihans! The salmon is great, but they ran out of green beans. I was given the other choices awhile after ordering, I chose the pineapple rice, and fresh fruit came out with my meal. It was disappointing, and our waitress could have been better. Overall - a great experience as always.

Well it was about 90 out today (at least), and I appreciated the fact that they were pumping some AC inside! I really like restaurants/bars with high ceilings, so I liked the way the restaurant looked inside. The service was on point, and the food was great! I had the b b que slider/pot roast slider combo, and it was amazing! This was a nice touristy spot!

Great patio seating for summer nights. Highly recommend thai wings and any of the other small plates. Waits, if any, are usually less than 20 minutes. Atmosphere is warm and food portions are more than large enough. Great deals on drinks during happy hour, martini flights are a steal!

We had a wonderful time! It was a first time out with just my wife and I since our kids were born. We really just casually mentioned this to the hostess after requesting a seat near the fireplace, for ambiance. Not only did we get a great seat, but lo and behold a complimentary appetizer! We were so impressed! Now don't go exhausting their good graces. Food was awesome too! We had the Smoked Swiss dip and Soft Pretzel sticks. Holy crap, I hugged the waitress. My wife had the scallops, which she raved over, and over, and over. I had the steak and wedge salad. It was very delicious. Although the plate wasn't quite large enough for the salad, but that was a minor detail. We finished with the cappuccino cake, which is as good as it sounds. This is a family place, which was great to see, but still held the class and sophistication for a night out with my wife. So we'll definitely be back, and we might bring our boys!

If you are visiting Hershey, Pa, I highly recommend this place. The drinks(liter long island) were amazing! I had a sirloin steak cooked to perfection & my husband had the crab cakes, which were the best I've ever tasted. Our server Megan was absolutely wonderful, very helpful with the menu & just an overall sweet girl. Lovely experience!!

Excellent meal in the sweetest place on earth Hershey PA. Right on Chocolate Ave near to Hershey INc HQ. Really tasty apps and French onion soup. Stuffed chicken breast ws superb.

Very good food. The menu has a nice variety of options. Everything our table ordered came out good. The fish tacos were a little too stuffed. Made for a messy bite. A special nod to the soups. Perfect chicken tortilla and delicious roasted tomato. Most chicken tortilla soups I've had out are way too salty. I was pleased with our service. The waitress was attentive and good with the kids.

Great food, great device and atmosphere was so nice! Our server Gabe was awesome and very accommodating for our family of 10! Immediately upon being seated (we waited about 45 min for table - which was communicated to us when we arrived) he brought the three little ones carrots and ranch to hold their tummies until dinner. Not something I've ever seen before from a restaurant, especially on a busy night! Our families meals ranged from burgers, ribs, chicken and plenty of appetizers. We did not have dessert because we wanted to make it to Chocolate World before they closed. You won't be disappointed, we will definitely be back again!

Came in for dinner during out visit to Hershey, we are a rather large group of 12. We were sited in about 15 or so minutes and we had 6 young kids, they gave us nice table in the back so at least kiddos had room to run around after they ate. Our waiter was patient and he got all orders and drinks, the food was pretty much what we expected from a chain, so I would say it was a safe pick. My husbands burger was not made to order, they promptly changed it, manage came to apologize and they even knocked off the bill. They did not have to but they did so it was nice of them. We came in pretty late so by the time we were ordering deserts they were ready to close but no one rushed us and it was very professional of them.

Went here for lunch while visiting Hershey. Overall, it was a good experience. They had great beers on tap. I had the Bells Two Hearted Ale which came out freezing cold which was great as it was such a hot day out. My burger was good but I ordered it medium and it came out very well done. However, the taste of the burger was great.

Much like its neighboring store Devon, my attention was first drawn to this place via Hershey's Restaurant Week. My initial thoughts were that it was a little loud and not too inviting. I tend to prefer a quieter atmosphere. Once the food was brought out though all that became irrelevant. Houlihan's offers a great selection of appetizers and entrees that allow you to experience meals not typically found in other eateries. They take various concepts of a meal and manipulate them to fit their own standards, and they don't elevate the price. Examples of this can be found in the Asian Chop Chop Salad and Wedge Salad. Just look at some of my pictures. You'll see. There are a few additional things that I must point out in order for this review to fully convey my appreciation for this restaurant. First, it is rare that having a somewhat bad experience is so easily remedied by a competent and professional staff. One time, while eating an appetizer of stuffed mushrooms, my date writhed when she found a piece of a cream cheese wrapped not on her plate, but in her mouth where it had been concealed within one of the fungi. Now, I am an easy going sort, and likewise most of my company tends to be the same. Rather than be the irate, belligerent customers that make ones skin crawl, we simply set the paper aside and waited for the waitress to return. When she did, we asked her if we had won that night's raffle. She looked at us confused, until we presented to her the "ticket" we had found in our food. She couldn't have been more apologetic. Following suit, the manage visited us just as embarrassed, offering to comp various portions of our meal. We settled for free mushrooms, but they gave us one meal free. Similarly, on my last visit here, I was also impressed by one of their wait staff; Mandolin. I remember her, not only because of her unique name, but because of her professionalism and hospitality. If she takes your order, you're in for a treat. If you are looking for a fun night out and want to grab a bite, stop by Houlihan's and satisfy your cravings. I have yet to be disappointed.

I was a bit disappointed. Service was fine but the food was kind of meh. We had fish tacos which didnt have much of a taste and fish was had a really thick crust. I was thinking it will be slightly lighter fare but nope. I mean you can fry the heck out everything, but it takes some skill to do it so that you can still guess what was the product to begin with. The chips were good. Probably should have ordered burgers or flatbreads. Kids liked their food though the carrot sticks and ranch dressing never materialized BUT they offer a nice variety of sides for kids, including fresh fruit and let you choose ice cream or apple sauce at the end. Kudos for that.

The only thing that was really unfortunate about our visit to this Houlihan's is that the kitchen was rather slow. Our waiter, the quality of the food, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was great; however, it did not compare to Sonny Eclipse. But then again, what does?

  • Steven S.

Seriously. This is disgusting food, what is wrong with the people giving 4 stars to canned veggies and "Grade D but edible meat". My girl and I are vegans but even their veggie burger on wheat bun which isn't a wheat bun but an egg based roll. The waiter insisted it was wheat but if it was Friday night I would have said the blessing over the challah bread! There was little redeeming value about this place except for the water... They refilled it. I'm sure the big secret to this place is that they simply take meals out of the freezer and throw them into the deep fryer. Go take your McDonalds disguised food and...

We've been to three of these and there is a vast difference between this and the others. We were told this is owned by Hershey and they make more foods from scratch to support their positive reputation. It shows in the food.

Very nice. We stopped there after seeing the Frozen show Sat afternoon with the whole family. Everyone enjoyed the food which is impressive since everyone had something different from a wide variety of choices. We were seated with only a 15 minute wait which is pretty good when a show empties at Hershey. The only down-side was the wait for the food was a little long. Our waitress brought little carrots for the kids to snack on without us even asking, so that was a very nice touch. Definitely worth coming back for a meal.

Sorry to say the service was awful. We went for lunch. Host/hostess were civil but not inviting. Seated us in a smallish section in the other side of a partition used for displaying wine bottles. Told us our server would be by soon. Despite there being 2 other couples near us, 2 different servers assisted them without even attempting to make eye contact with us. After 20 minutes we had not had any assistance from anyone. At that point left. So much for this place.

I ordered the small plate of Scallops, and they were absolutely amazing. They were seared to perfection and served on a bed of lemon asparagus risotto. I also had the Tuscan white bean salad which was heavily seasoned and exquisite. My meal was refreshing and filling, and it was all surprisingly clean aside from the slightly naughty risotto. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich with fries which was unimpressive, but I hold that against him, because really who orders something so run-of-the-mill at a place with organic and foodie options on the menu?! Really?! My little one ordered a kid's plate of pizza and salad, and she finished her salad and enjoyed a few bites of pizza. My older child ordered chicken fettuccine alfredo. She's a bit picky and was not thrilled with the al dente fettuccine noodles or the fancy non-paper napkins. Know your crew before you dine here. Picky kids might not love it. Foolish husbands who choose "safe" options might not give it 5 stars, but those who dare to try the delicious will not be disappointed!

Escaped to Hershey for a couple relaxing days. Have been to Houlihan's in Baltimore, and they've always been okay. This one was close, and had a slightly different menu. We are so glad we went. We ordered: Firecracker Shrimp as an appetizer. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. Excellent blend of favors with just the right amount of "kick". Entrées included: Seared scallops -- tender and resting on a decadent serving of risotto, delicious; and the Stuffed Chicken Breast, which was not overly stuffed, perfectly cooked, alongside mouth-watering creamy mashed potatoes. We finished the meal with carry out brownie and ice cream dessert that they graciously deconstructed so we could build it when we got back to out hotel room (each "part" -- and there was at least a half a dozen -- was individually packed/prepped). We went on a Thursday evening , and expected a packed house at at 8pm, and there was a nice crowd, no waiting, and not loud at all. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful, and made our visit even more of a pleasure. 5 stars EACH for the food, the ambience and the service. May have to go back before we head home!

As always it was a perfect dining experience. There was a 30 minute wait, but rhat makes sense at 6pm on a Saturday night. The food was fantastic and the service waa sublime. I recommend this establishment for birthdays, anniversaries, or just a night out. We have been here over a dozen times and have YET to have even a moderately negative experience. Christine does a great job as a manager and always makea us feel welcome and special. They earn every single star

The waitstaff are childish and immature. I witnessed a woman slip and fall as she came in the door. The gaggle of employees at the reception area did nothing except giggle and ignore the situation.

Frozen food. Low quality food. Too many menu options. Inconsistent but generally bad service. Loud. Large space and huge bar. I would only return to drink beer and watch sports, which I don't frequently do, so I guess I won't be back.

I joined Houlihan's email program and was offered a free birthday meal. You don't have to ask me twice! We had never been because we usually don't do chain restaurants...but hey, a free birthday meal is a free birthday meal. What was nice is that you don't have to go *on* your birthday and you have about 2-weeks to use the coupon. We arrived at 4pm on a Saturday in October...Hershey Park in the Dark is in full swing, so I knew it was going to get very busy for dinner. But we arrived just before the rush and got a table right away. One of the features I really liked was the $10-wine flight. Any 3-of their wines (2oz pours). So, of course I ordered their most expensive! For dinner I got the small-dish scallops over lemon-asparagus risotto. I ended up with 4-medium size scallops on a nice bed of risotto. Out of the scallops, one was rubbery, one was gritty and 2-were very nice. The risotto had a nice black pepper bite and was of a good consistency, altho a little thick. My boyfriend ordered the French dip. It was amazing. Good quality thinly-sliced medium rare roast beef on a fantastic roll. I would seriously order that next time. Our server was a sweetheart and took good care of us. We left around 5pm and the line for tables was nearly out the door...so yeah, if you can, go during the off-season or at least during off-hours if you can.

One of my favourite places to eat whenever I'm in town. My only complaint is that it can get a little crowded with longer wait times to get a seat, but that's to be expected with a place this popular.

Today my cousin and I went to Houlihans for Valentine's Day. Let me first say that the atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. However, we waited at least 20 minutes before we were greeted by the server. She was very pleasant but not attentive at all. In addition, the food was beyond bland. My cousin ordered the shrimp chipotle wrap and I ordered the fish tacos. Omggggg...no flavor what so ever. Not worth the trip to Hershey at all.

Stopped by on a Wednesday evening because one of our party had eaten here before and liked it. We ordered fried shrimp, crab cakes, and chicken strips. One out of three isn't good. The shrimp was way over done and the crab cakes were less than savory, bland even. Mentioning this to the server guy elicited a response akin to "Oh well." No apology whatsoever. The one in our party who suggested this place was very surprised and disappointed and has changed her opinion for the worse and probably will not return. I am positive we won't. Possibly, in their defense, they were quite busy but they should have that under control.

Oh dear. Staff trying hard on an Easter Sunday but seriously this is a poor experience by most standards. Food is ok at best, "diner standard". Spinach Artichoke dip was truly the worst - like watery soup - with crackers on the side. There are better choices here in Hershey, sadly a bit limited on this particular weekend. Avoid this place if possible based on this experience, u can't imagine it gets better. Very poor all round. They do have good drinks though, however that's not really why we're here.

  • Katherine M.

This place is pretty solid, especially considering it's a chain. The food is usually good, a step above the normal chain places like Applebee's or something, and the prices reflect it. We mostly come for some of their yummy mixed drinks - they do a good job with some of them, but some of them I would pass on. It is ALWAYS crowded because of it's location. I only go if I can get a seat right away - it's really not worth a wait. The fries are decent - nothing special, but good. Most everything tastes fine - the sliders were flavorful, but a bit fatty. Ingredients sometimes seem frozen (corn, meat, etc.) It's a chain, again, and I'm not suggesting you expect more than that. In the times I have been here, service has always been okay. Some better than others - it depends on your server completely. The food always comes out in good time though (usually the server does not bring it but a kitchen staff member it seems). My suggestion is to probably search out somewhere else to eat if you are looking for super delicious food. But if you want a decent cocktail and some standard chain style American food, this is a good place for you.

Went with a small group on a Saturday afternoon, the scallops over risotto were absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, we were only visiting the area so am unable to return in the foreseeable future. Service was friendly and attentive plus the atmosphere was great, will certainly stop by whenever I am in Hershey.

Love Houlihans in Hershey, even though they are technically a chain they offer some really different, exciting dishes! This last time we went my husband had pot roast mac n cheese with a soft pretzel bread stick - amazing! I kept sneaking bites off of his dish! I had a good old fashioned burger and fries and it was also delicious. They don't skimp on the fries and the bun was really good and also huge. My favorite part of dinner here are the martini flights, they are super addicting - especially the mandarin one! I could drink that like juice. We also enjoyed the cappuccino cake which was a special - my husband is not a dessert eater and he was inhaling this: chocolate cake with espresso icing and coffee ice cream. It was to die for! Can't wait to return.I will say (becuase i'm nosy) the man next to us got a small steak with mashed potatoes and veggies and there was like nothing on his plate. I even heard his girlfriend say to him "that's not a lot of food". They were also a little stingy on the pot roast in my hubby's mac n cheese. It was few and far between (probably to keep the cost of the dish reasonable but still it was the first item in the dish's description). My only advice is do not go if you are in a time pinch - all three times i've gone the wait has been estimated to be an hour. Now we've never waited an entire hour but they don't take reservations so you could potentially sit awhile. That only speaks for how popular they are but if you have other plans you may not have the time to wait. I also love that they run one of the few recork programs to recycle wine corks!

We were celebrating a business deal at lunchtime. We didn't want bar food or a pub. We wanted a restaurant. And the Houlihan's that I've been to have been great so why not. We should have gone to a pub, we would have had the same mediocre food and at 1/2 the price. So loud the waitress even said, "I can't hear you over this music." Yeah me either. Appetizer description more than misleading and his ribs were room temp if that. Same boring fries and dried out room temp asparagus. Wouldn't be so bad if we'd have been in a pub. But here? An extra dirty martini that was clear and less than 1/2 full. Why one star? Oh that's for the hostess flirting with my boyfriend. Classless Never again.

The food was excellent. Wait was a little long but on a busy Saturday night that's understandable. Staff is very friendly and willing to work with you. Bar selection is not bad. ;)

This a beautiful place and the food never disappoints! Just one thing to remember, don't stop in after 11pm if you like pleasant service. There is a limited, but tasty, menu, however, most of the servers act as if you are seriously inconveniencing them by sitting at their tables. Stick to lunch and dinner.

Houlihan's is one of those hip chain restaurants that you just return to over and over again because it's consistently good. A great place to go grab food and drinks after a long day at school or to celebrate a birthday! They have a really extensive menu and the prices are pretty reasonable! I absolutely LOVE the spicy chicken & avocado spring rolls and the french onion soup. FYI, it can get pretty crowded on a weekend night so get ready to wait for a table... with the crowd of youngsters, Houlihan's almost makes it feel like Hershey is a "happening'" place ;)

I think I will agree with most of people reviews of this place : good for a chain restaurant! The food was very good also and in reasonnable quantities (no huge as it could be in most of the places like chains are). Quality was then very good for the price. I had the crab cakes that were delicious with some tasty sauces. Few fries (but good ones) and mostly Asparagus that fits perfeclty as a light touch to the meal. Plus they had some hohgarden white beer at draft! Refreshing! Nice thing is that it fits with a family having kids ... A bit noisy and nervous one because of the time change and the late time. We were 3 couples and 6 kids. We think we were not disturbing the place.

I don't know if it's because they were close to closing time but the food was terrible. Besides them being out of have of our orders the food was cold and tasted old. The service was very good and the location was beautiful but they could of done better with the food.

Houlihan's is great in the off-season and for the late night specials menu. The restaurant is clean. We don't go in the summer months because it is super busy with tourists. Anyhow...they have a great deck and the atmosphere is cool (again, in the off-season). The wait in the summer time is brutal, but they are fairly efficient. The food is always really good though. The waitstaff is pretty standard, and usually pleasant. I give Houlihan's 3 stars because honestly, how many other restaurants are really in Hershey?! This is one of the better ones!

We went here because we got a gift card for xmas. plus i signed up on their email list beforehand and received a $10 off coupon. we went on a Friday evening, around 6'ish. it was jam packed! no sitting room in the waiting area and not even a seat at the bar. it was appox a 35 min wait. at the bar, as busy as they were, we got served right away. we ordered a couple of their happy hour drinks & stood around. the bartender made my drink perfect! their happy hour specials are priced very good! i think well liquors were like $3 each. after our first drink, my bf spotted a seat at the bar for me. we had one more drink before our buzzer finally went off. our waitress was pretty decent, friendly for sure. we did have to ask her for extra napkins & hot sauce more than once before she remembered to bring it. other than that she was good. the food was sooooooo amazing! so much better than we'd expected. we had been to this same houlihan's about 3 yrs ago and were not very impressed w/ the food or service. so it was a pleasant surprise this time around. my bf ordered the Kansas city strip, which is the same as a NY strip. there's NO bone in it. he said it was one of THE best steaks he's ever had. it cut like butter! I ordered the stuffed mushrooms for my appetizer. glad I got the small order because they are huge! and taste amazing. I got the fish tacos as my entrée. I was too full to finish it all so I took the rest home. but the tacos were excellent. everything was on point! if it wasn't so far away (we live in camp hill), we'd probably go back again soon. I think it'd def be worth a trip in the warmer weather when we can sit outside. when our bill came the waitress accepted the $10 off coupon along w/ the gift card w/ no problem. we asked if we could give her what was left on the gift card as part of her tip & she said yes (the restaurant will give her the cash value at the end of her shift). she said people do that all the time. we would def return.

Hold up. Houlihan's has lettuce wraps? Yep, and they're not too shabby compared to a certain Asian chain restaurant's version I eat occasionally. They're not quite as good or as substantial, but still made for a tasty appetizer. For lunch, something a little different: The Spicy Fritos Burger with pepper jack cheese, pico de gallo, Fritos corn chips, jalapenos, guacamole, chipotle mayo. It obviously had a little kick to it, which I really liked. Opted out of the typical side of fries for chips and salsa. Enjoyed the entire meal while sitting at a table on the outside patio in warm afternoon sun. A very pleasing way to end my trip to Chocolate Town, USA.

Great environment and great food! I got the small seared scallops, there were 5 and they were delicious! The lemon parmesan risotto it came with was fabulous as well. The organic potstickers are amazing as well.

Houlihans has a great menu, basically your regular chain but a bit more upscale. The prices range from descent to a bit pricey,, we stayed on the descent side. I had the housemade veggie burger with aged cheddar on a pretzel roll and added pesto. It was delicious! I mean really damn good, along with a side of perfectly grilled asperagus which could have been more than 4 pieces though. The man had the fritos chicken sandwich which at the same price as mine ($9) was kind of a rip off. Side wise he had the baked potato which is by far the biggest portion you get compaired to the 5 fries or 3 pieces of broccoli I saw others get. It was undercooked and oversalted though. He literally had 3 fritos and one jalopeno on there along with half a slice of cheese, not really a man sized dinner. While I would give it 5 stars for loving my meal, I have to take one off for the super skimpy kids meal and my man not loving it here.

My wife went there last night 4/17 with our three kids 6, 3 and 1. The wait was long but the park just closed so it was expected. Our waitress was amazing. She brought the kids food while we had our soup and their ice cream when we got our entree. I got the spicy fritos chix sandwich. A+ and my wife got the pot roast A+++++ I don't usually go to chain restaurants while on vacation but this was worth it. nice work!!!!

I don't like to walk into a restaurant and see 5 hostesses standing around talking, then act like you have interrupted their conversation. The spinach dip appetizer was greasy and the chips were stale. The flatbreads were just okay, going from crispy on the edges to soggy in the middle. Not a fan!!

This place surpasses every other restruant in Lebanon Co. and is prob. on the top in Dauphin Co. This place has unbelievable food! I swear I almost had everything on the menu and everything is so delish! My girlfriends and I always meet here for our birthdays and special get togethers. Our favorite thing to do is order multiple appetizers and share them. The drinks they have are sooo yummy and you definitely need to try their Tennessee Tea- a spin off from Long Island Ice Tea. Their scallop dish is the bomb, along with fish taco's which sound grouse but are sooo good. Fancy spagetti is yummy along with all their side salads. Can't go wrong with the apptz... Do yourself a favor and eat here!

Came here for lunch while exploring Hershey for the first time. Atmosphere is nice and the location is convenient. Came here on a Monday afternoon over the holidays and was surprised that we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. It wasn't too busy and there were still seats open. Service wasn't bad, but it was kind of slow given that it wasn't packed. The food was pretty good. We ordered a seasonal drink- the shiny apple. It was delicious and could not taste the alcohol, which means good liquor was used. We had the tomato soup with grilled cheese fritters. Very delicious. Not too creamy and the fritters were a nice touch. Had Bavarian pretzel sticks, which is also a nice dish. The pretzels came out hot and it came with a nice deli/Dijon mustard that was slightly spicy. Also came with a hot cheese dip. The cheesed up had a nice flavor, but was a bit thin. Would've been nice if it was a thicker consistency for dipping. But it was still good. I ordered the salmon salad. Salmon was nicely grilled and warm. Croutons were a soft grilled bread, which was different. I liked the texture. My boyfriend had the southwest chicken wrap. He liked it, but said it wasn't spicy enough. Didn't really have the southwest flavor and it was kind of small for a me of his appetites. We did feel the prices are a bit high for what we ordered. The pretzels were around $8 for 3 pretzel sticks. I wouldn't mind coming back, but not first on my list of places to go.

Some seriously good food for a fair price. Also got a liter of raspberry long island for only a dollar more than a single glass costs. Can't beat it.

This place is fancier than I had thought it was. I thought it would have been more similar to a Friday's. My first and last experience was alright. I can't complain about the service because it was great, our appetizers and dinners came out at a decent time. The waitress was friendly and constantly checked back with us. I didn't like the wine I ordered, and replaced it without any issues. My meal wasn't satisfying which is why my ratings are low. Personally, I didn't care for the menu. It was hard to pick something, so I ordered a simple burger - which was far from delicious. The only fulfilling dish was the lettuce wraps. Even hated the stuffed mushrooms! At any restaurant, horrible food will make my decision whether there will be a return. And for Houlihan's, it was my last. Like I said, service was great but for food choice in my preference, I wasn't satisfied with the menu options or tastes.

I seldom enjoy the thought of finding a place to dine in Hershey when traveling on business. I had heard positive remarks concerning Houlihans and thought that I would give them a try. In retrospect it was the right move. Comfortable surroundings, efficient wait staff and surprise, very good food in very generous portions. Momma always warned about Meatloaf anywhere but at home. We'll , Mom was wrong. The Meatloaf was moist and juicy, the mashed and gravy tasty, the green beans fresh. Washed it all down with a refreshing ale , I was a happy camper . Recommended.

Spicy chicken and avocado egg rolls amazing!!...my wife got the scallops, it was phenomenal and the chicken Parmesan was out of this world. I recommend this place to anyone that likes good food.

The food was quite good! I had the almond crusted halibut and was able to get it in a small portion size - something I like since I can't usually eat a supersize meal. It was served with fresh berries and asparagus - quite a tasty combination. The restaurant was busy with a waiting line, and this may be why the service was unusually slow and the kitchen expediter was having trouble getting things out to customers in the right sequence. Our salads and soup came out, then was followed immediately by the entrees. Entrees were cool by the time we finished the soups and salads. The waiter was great and gave us free coffee to help make up for the lack of coordination. All in all, I do recommend this restaurant. The food is dependably good. I have eaten there before and the service and kitchen pace was fine.

There are very few places I go where I get excellent service but Houlihans was one of them. Chris H. Was our waiter and he was outstanding he was very attentive, refilling our waters constantly and going out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. We had our appetizer within 5 minutes of ordering. The food was delicious and and came out very quickly. For a great evening out head here!

Excellent service at the bar. Went during happy hour...had appetizers which were very well prepared...hot and well seasoned spicy shrimp and margarita flat bread! Bar tenders let us sample a new brew we wanted to try. Very attentive. This place is always busy and it is easy to see why.

This place has a trendy atmosphere and is large. The service was good but nothing spectacular. A decent selection of beer but again, not mind-blowing. I had the meatloaf which was not very good at all. It was small and was more charred than anything else. A bit tough to it. It was supposed to come with roasted potatoes but for some unexplained reason came with mashed potatoes. When I asked, the server didn't have an adequate answer. I was expecting more when I stopped in but the place underperformed. I would not recommend to eat there.

What will you find at Houlihan's? Very good food, fair prices, awesome happy hour, and a clean environment. Our first trip in was after a late night preview of Hershey Park. My cousin & I split a pot roast dinner - tender and flavor. But there's one thing I don't understand about the how they use lettuce. Our chop salad came with shredded iceberg while my other cousin's fish tacos had whole pieces of romaine. Is this an east-coast thing? For dessert, the white chocolate banana cream pie and crème brulee were quite delicious. Thunderstorms at Hershey forced us out of the park for a while but conveniently into Houlihan's for Happy Hour. You can't go wrong with $5 apps: Calamari - crunchy & yummy Spinach Artichoke Dip - a bit runny, but tasty on the flat bread Thai Wings - when we got our 2nd plate which wasn't cold, they were good too Chicken Nachos - my favorite Fried Stuffed Mushrooms - could have eaten these all day Yuengling on tap - a treat for this Californian I'd go back to Houlihan's especially since the service is courteous and attentive. Thanks Houlihan's for being a part of our coaster road trip!

Went here after a long day at Hershey Park. Rather tasty for a chain store...i consider houlihan's like an upscale Applebee's/Chili's/TGIF's. I got the fish tacos (with a side of mashed potatoes...weird combo i know) and my date got the spicy burger (with a side of fries). His fries were so good! My potatoes were pretty good, I just wish I had some gravy to go with them. My fish tacos were decent, I would probably order them again even though they lacked the "oomph!" of Jose Garce's, aka Philly's Iron Chef winner, fish tacos (i'm spoiled so I cannot hold it against Houlihan's). I am a Coke fan, and I really dislike how this establishment is Pepsi only.

This is our go to place on any given evening. Are there long waits? Sure, but their food is THAT good. I have never had a bad meal here. And their drinks are fantastic!! It's a little pricey, but if you go during happy hour you get cheap drinks and cheap apps (which are enough for a meal).

OK. I returned. And the menu impressed me; they have a great variety of stuff. And the food was good (meats were cooked to the correct temperature and things were flavorful). And the service was good. And this is a very good incarnation of the chain. Much better than you might expect. And crowded. Even on a Monday night. They are getting that fourth star.

Pretty good. Interesting menu. Small plates were really good. Had the disco fries, yummy, not a ton if pot roast though. White bean hummus, very good. Ribs, ok. Nice atmosphere, great server, easy with kids, but not a kid restaurant.

I found out about this chain while staying at the Meadowlands New Jersey. I look forward to eating the Potato soup. On a snowy night this is an excellent meal to have in itself. The place was clean and service was good. I would like to try something else on the menu but I am stuck on the soup.

First time going there. The food is good if you love burgers get the Angus burger at first though the fries were too salty but nop just right. It is a little bit pricey (that why no fifth but it Hershey for you). The staff was nice, and profession. The waitress was very nice, she helped my out with the menu, and when I was in a rush to let the staff know and my food came with time to spare. I would go back again. Now if anybody ask about a good restaurant in Hershey. I can finally give more info for Houlihan's

I hate chain restaurants, so what's with the five stars? We ended up here after a tortuous trip to Hershey. I was tired and cranky, as were the wife and three kids. We I spied this place on the way in, thinking we would rather have a colonoscopy than eat at a Houlihans. Our minds were changed when it was either stop and eat here, or push the wife and kids out of the car on the Turnpike. The drama started when we entered the place. It was crowded. Every seat was taken, even at the bar. We were told that it would be a ten minute wait. Yeah right. I've heard that before. Let's hope that the batteries in the Leapsters last. Um..we were seated in five minutes. No joke. Large comfortable table. Waitress went and got the kids crayons and place mats in less than a minute. Brought their drinks in record time. Then returned thirty seconds later with some carrots and dip, perfectly portioned for each child. I think I started to cry. My blood pressure went down. Her tip went up. We ordered the basics, fajitas and burgers. Everything was cooked well. This is not a five star dining establishment, but hold on a minute...They now have a small plate menu which looks fantastic. Her tip went up again. Waitress whispered to my wife that the kids get desert, we declined. Tip went up further. She brought out the check thirty seconds later, no pressure to pay, but she somehow knew it was time for us to be moving on. Maybe it was the kid under the table. Great service! Great Food! Great with the Kids! A++++++++++++++++++++

For some reason Hershey is hurting for decent restaurants. Enter Houlihans, a better than average chain. I went here with six others to celebrate a birthday. Entrees ordered were varied between a burger to salmon and everything in between. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. Desserts were tasty as well. Ambiance was nice. Even though the place is huge the noise level was fine and we sat next to a nice fireplace. This will be my go-to place in the area if I'm looking for something nicer than Red Robin.

Generally pretty good. Decent burgers, clean and pleasant atmosphere, staff was friendly and attentive. Prices are a little high for the quality of the food, but not terrible - three of us (adults) ate for $50 plus tip.

Visited on Saturday 4/7/12 with a group of 6, around 5 PM. This was my first visit to Houlihan's, and I came away suitably impressed. The food and drink selection is extensive, prices were reasonable, and everything we had was delicious. I like that they have tapas-style offerings, so you can easily build a meal to suit your appetite. It's also a great way to try a smaller amount of another menu item to see if you'll like it. I was driving, so I didn't try any of their alcoholic drinks, but I've been told the martini flight is terrific. I'd like to come back and try it another time. The only negative to our experience was our server. He seemed like he was having a bad day or something...he was very uncommunicative and acted like everything we asked for was a hassle for him. I'm sure our experience would have been different with another server, so I won't ding the place too badly for one bad egg out of the group.

WOW! Just moved to the area and this is one of my favorite places to take people. You WILL NOT have a bad experience. Suggestions: FAJITAS, Atlantic Salmon, Asian Chop Chop Salad, Stuffed Chicken Breast (Cordon Blue type dish), any side dish, Farm House Club, FISH TACOS, and anything else on the menu. This particular location is owned by Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company (HERCO) and you can tell by the standards and cleanliness of the restaurant. Great service, definitely affordable prices, and a great atmosphere for lunch, dinner, or any happy hour.

I should probably start this review by mentioning that my friend and I couldn't figure out how to get in the building at first. A waitress was nice enough to let us in the exit. Anyway, the food is great and the service was fantastic. Couldn't ask for a better experience. As an added bonus, while we were eating the goalie from the Hershey Bears walked in. I hear it's a pretty popular spot for the team. Go to Houlihan's. It's not too pricey, it's a fun place to be, they play great music and it's an overall great time.

Ate here for a birthday party. The food was good ( I had the pesto pasta) and the atmosphere was nice. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you receive. Only concern is the service. Our waiter was very good, but not around all that often. Not a fan of the French fries.

Delicious food, me and my girlfriend's that I went to cos school with love meeting here for dinner. I would suggest going on a week night because the weekends get crazy and they don't take reservations or call ahead seating. The service is good, and they don't try to push you out the door. The only thing that's a pain is waiting to get sat (but the food is worth it!).

Pretty decent for a restaurant chain and much better than I was expecting. I was visiting Hershey over the weekend with my boyfriend, and he liked it so much that we went twice during the three days we were in town. The beer selection was ok. (to Houlihan's credit they do have Newcastle on tap) I never saw a menu with specialty drinks on it but there seemed to be a lot of colorful martinis and frozen drinks floating around, so I'm assuming there was a wide selection of these. I really enjoyed the food, particularly the small plates menu. Both times we ate here here we ordered a couple of plates each from this menu and the portions were perfect (Except for the nachos! They were delicious but HUGE, even when shared between two people). The spinach salad and ginger noodles were both very good. The only thing I didn't care for was the mac & cheese (and it takes a lot to turn me off of mac & cheese). It was so rich and greasy (there was bacon in it) that I could only handle a couple of forkfuls before I gave it to the boyfriend. We sat at the bar both times and the bartenders were very pleasant. One offered to turn a TV to the Caps game as soon as I took my coat off and he saw I was wearing a Capitals T-shirt, which I thought was very thoughtful. You have a good view of one of the four TVs from wherever you sit at the bar, so I'd imagine this would be an ideal place to watch a game. I will definitely consider making a repeat visit the next time I'm in the Hersey area.

The service at Houlihan's is always top-notch and I've always had great food. I highly recommend any of the desserts. Even your basic sandwiches are well-presented, fresh and a good value. This Houlihan's is at a great location in the beautifully-restored Hershey Press Building in the square of Hershey. Parking is very convenient as there is a large parking garage next door with plenty of handicap parking.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night during a trip to Hershey Park. It was crowded but we were seated quickly. I was pleasantly surprised that the menu was so 'fancy'/had so many appealing, creative options. My salad (which was HUGE btw) turned out to have too much bacon and cheese for me, but everyone was generally pleased with their meals. (although the long island iced tea pitcher apparently was weak). Nice ambiance but a little too bold. Service was so-so. If I'm out of town again in an area with a Houlihan's, I will definitely go.

  • Lina K.

My favorite restaurant in the area! Their drinks and food are excellent. Try the Long Island Iced Teas. The potato soup is yummy and their side salads are generous. You can get small plates or regular sized entrees. This place gets busy, especially if there is somethiing going on at the park (aka a Hershey Bears game or a concert).

My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to stop for a quick lunch when in Hershey. Honestly, we weren't looking for anything fancy, so we stopped at Houlihan's, hoping we could get something halfway decent. We didn't know what a treat we were in for. Honestly, we had two of the best lunch salads that either of us had ever had. The mix of vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients made them both very delicious. Our waitress was friendly, outgoing, and prompt. I wish I could remember her name so that I could give her the acknowledgment she deserves. I would definitely stop by again, and I would recommend it to anyone in the area.

Went here for dinner when we went to Hershey Park on July 18th. Really nice restaurant. We had seven in our group and were told the wait was about 30 minutes but we actually got seated in like 15 minutes, so not bad. Our waiter was nice and efficient, he just didn't intro his name so I thought that was weird. But he was good nevertheless. We had 3 burgers, a salmon burger, a kiddie mac and cheese and grilled chicken with asparagus. Overall the food was very good and service was impeccable. They give you so many fries! I love FRIES! I would recommend this place.

We hit Houlihan's after the Sunday hockey games. Nice looking fairly large restaurant. It is a chain but it's the best chain I've been in. Good for families, Nice bar, Martini flights are great! French onion soup is good Stuffed mushrooms were good Rosemary chicken was nice, so was the salmon Fish tacos I really enjoyed and I really like the scallop risotto, yum. The smore dessert is fun. Service is good and friendly staff.

Don't let the concept of a chain restaurant fool you, Houlihans is great! They have a wide variety on the menu and I've never had a bad meal here. I love the happy hour specials! Their pitchers of long island iced teas are a great deal. I love the "small plates" section of the menu because you can try a little of each dish from the menu for a small price. I've ordered the mac n' cheese, arugula pizza, chicken nachos, french fries, salads and a few chicken entrees; all very tasty! In general, the entree prices are very reasonable. The service is also great! The staff is friendly and easygoing. The restaurant gets very crowded and can be pretty noisy, but that's to be expected for the volume of customers. Also, the food comes out fairly quickly, which is good if you're going there for a business lunch or after work.

I have to agree with Alison. I am not a chain restaurant fan (well, except maybe Morton's), but this location is nice. Atmosphere is nice. Bar gets a decent crowd any day of the week. Get here early if you are eating dinner, or you will be waiting... Had a flight of martinis. Nice. I've paid $7 for one martini before, so three at that price is a bonus. I like that they make their own lemonade, and use it in the drinks. owever, i wish they had more on the flight menu- I would have loved something a little less sweet... The fish tacos here are good. The onion soup was delicious, and I'm very picky about onion soup. I had the steak and wedge salad, which was also wonderful. And such a pretty presentation. The other thing I liked about this place- there were lots of kids present, but I didn't notice them. So either they sit them all together or the place is lively enough that I didn't notice. Sweet!

One of the better chain restaurants out there. The main reason it gets four stars is for portion size. The small plates are good if you aren't that hungry or you want a salad and a little bit of mac n cheese. The menu doesn't feel too much like a chain restaurant either, like the grilled asparagus salad. So I ended up getting fajitas as that was more of what I was in the mood for. A nice dollop of sour cream with ample lettuce and cheese (some places can be stingy), a side of a smoky salsa and it was red and green bell peppers with the sauteed red onion. It's just the little changes that made for a different flavor profile you might get at other places. Our server was 2 stars but he wasn't bad enough to distract from the overall experience. The real test would be to go at a busier time, rather than about 7 on a Sunday night.

Open, airy, pleasant restaurant...it's what most of us would expect from the Houlihan's chain! Food and service was nothing to "rave" about, but overall it was not bad. Food was a little pricey for the quality.

  • Alison H.

Houlihan's is a chain, and in another location it would not deserve 4 stars, but since it is in Hershey, it is way better than the other offerings (Applebee's, etc, bleah). Because it's one of the newest and better restaurants in the area, there is a sizable wait at peak times. This can be annoying since it's not the greatest or anything, but I'd say it's worth up to 30 min wait. They have a lot of cute things where you can get three different miniature items for a reasonable price, like 3 mini martinis. I think this is a decent deal and I like girly drinks. They don't have a lot of vegetarian offerings. Out of 10 times I went to this place, 1 time during a busy dinner service the pasta was wayyy overcooked, like mush. But considering they have high school kids as staff I guess this is to be expected. The service is pretty much decent overall. The place tries a bit too hard to be trendy but at least they try. I agree that the smore dessert is disappointing, it sounds so good but when you get it, the chocolate is on this weird piece of wax paper and it's very difficult to eat. Whoever designed that must have never tried to actually eat it. The desserts are cheap though so I usually end up getting one.

I was happily surprised to find out restaurants opened at the square in Hershey. This was the first place I had a great meal since I've been back home. The almond encrusted tilapia was so thick and perfectly cooked. It came with a light beurre blanc sauce and fresh berries. YUM YUM!! The steak looked great, and the seared ahi tuna tacos were also a hit. My favorite part of the meal was the was the flight of 3 mini martinis appetizer and desert. They were delish as well as regular sized blueberry martini. Will definitely go back.

Love this place but the last few times have had bad service and indifferent and too young wait staff. We ate there last Saturday and only waited 20 minutes for a spot on the porch. Lovely day and excellent food. We had the wings and they were very tasty but not nearly "hot" wings, very mild. I had the scallop rosoto and my boyfriend had the crab cakes. Wonderful...especially my favorite the Blueberry Martini!! Yummy and relaxing evening with a happy, friendly waitress. What more could you want?

The food is definitely great but the service leaves something to be desired. I think I've tried all the appetizers and desserts haha. Some of the desserts (the smore thing for one) aren't exactly what you'd expect (in a Let Down sort of way). And the servers are pretentious as hell. You're 30, you're waiting tables, get over yourself.

My wife and I stopped in here in our recent visit to Hershey. We thought it was great. Their menu has lots of different options. Its mainly American fair with modern twists. They also had an experimental/specials menu to add to the variety. My wife and I figured we could have come here every night for a week without getting bored. Since we had skipped lunch, we came for an early diner, and were glad we did. As we were leaving the diner rush was beginning. The line was out the door, so be prepared to wait if you go at peak times.

Atmosphere was nice. Asked to be reseated to a quieter table and got moved immediately (had a baby with us & dsn't want to be right at the door to the loud kitchen!). Service was good even though our server left ill after we arrived. Food was good. Martini flight was delicious (split it between 2 of us). Fondue desert had to be sent back to get heated, but was taken care of immediately.

I really wanted to like this place more. It certainly has filled a much needed void in Hershey. But we had a strange experience. We came in around 8:30pm on a Wednesday night for dinner. I like the atmosphere a lot -- lots of space, but with a hip, warm feeling. Definitely a good vibe -- lots of energy. I got a burger for dinner which was decent. My problem was with the service. After he served our meals, he asked if he could take our pepper shaker which was strange. We said that was fine, and then he took it to an empty table to fill it up with other ones and then returned it. We got the sense he wanted to get out of there. Then, he came out with a carpet sweeper and started vacuuming the floor around us. This is not a comforting environment in which to enjoy a meal. There were still a lot of people in the restaurant and it was well before closing time. I certainly didn't feel welcome.

A great place to meet up with friends. The food is unique for the area, and offers a little something for everyone. I am a big fan of the flights of martinis that are offered, and I love the small-portioned desserts (the berry cobbler is fantastic :). Yes, it is a chain, but for this area, it offers a modern twist to the dining experience without the cardboard cut-out style of other chain restaurants. The wait to get in can be long, especially on peak nights (such as Saturday nights). I've always liked the service; the staff are very nice, friendly, and usually quick on orders. The outdoor seating is nice during the summer, although it can get a bit loud as it is right along the busy routes of 422 and 743. Personally, it is a favorite bachelorette party spot!

Loved this restaurant! We went as a party of 10 after visiting Hershey Park for the day. We had 5 children with us, all under 7 yrs old and the staff was great at handling them. As soon as we got in they brought carrot sticks and ranch dressing, plus crayons and menus the kids could color. The food was delicious and so were drinks. Prices were very reasonable. This place had a great ambiance.

Houlihan's is actually my favourite restaurant in Hershey. I'd give the food 3.5 stars, but the price is affordable, and service has always been great. The best deal would be the happy hours, 4-6.30pm and 9-11pm; get multiple appetizer plates for $5 each, then fill up with happy hour beer/long island iced tea. Only downside: the place does get crowded, you may have to wait in line to get a table. Still worth it!
