I have been driving by Boccella's for a while now seeing I am working in PA again and figured to stop in and grab their well known breakfast sandwich. Now mind you, I used to come here all the time years ago when big Mike the owner and was running it wearing his shades all the time . This is maybe 10+ years ago, give or take 2 years since I have been in here. I did go in there a few times after he sold it and the amazing cheese steaks wasn't so amazing, the phenomenal hoagies (Italian, Nigerian, Cappacola) wasn't such a phenom. Their breakfast sandwich's lost that big fill you up to start the day phase. I was disappointed and haven't been back since today, and I must say good job on getting in a newer crew from what I remember. They know how to bring this place back up to the quality everyone was used to. Seeing it was 8 am and I had finished work I was gonna stop at Wawa and grab one of their bagel breakfast, but thanks to me I hit up a little Yelp action on here. The reviews looked good and I figured why not. I went with one of my favorites .. a blast from the past you might say. Scrambled eggs with cheese, onions and scrapple on a long roll. Scrapple was good, cooked just right, crispy on the outside nice on the inside and the eggs wasn't runny the cheese was mixed in just right with the onions, and the roll I had asked for it to be toasted. YELPERS AMAZING!! Boccella's has come back again, its like Mike never left. Added some hot sauce and ketchup and the taste buds was happy, and I noticed they added something new. OK they added a few things new that wasn't there before.. A better selection of beers, good micro-brews stocked, along with tapped beers! What is this? A great idea if you ask me, grab a cheese steak, get the cheese fries and a fresh pour from the tap. BAAAM !!! Sold I'm in as of now the breakfast is good, I did see pancakes and other fine breakfasts they offer and the great thing about it is, you will not break the bank. I will be back to see how the hoagies and cheese steaks are. Customer service was great, the guys behind there were great, seating for you to sit and enjoy, clean and great food smells to add to your eating. I'll be back again

Favorite local deli for sure! The owners are super super nice & friendly. The wait time is always reasonable and the food always tastes great. I love their tuna fish. But my absolute favorite is their grilled Phillies! It's amazing.

Boccella's is the best!!!!! I visit at least once a week. Everything I have ordered has been delicious. A very consistent, clean, and delicious deli--I cannot recommend it enough. The staff is always very friendly too!!!

Stopped in again last night, picked up a cheesesteak with fried onions. It was truly top tier! I noticed right away the roll they used for the cheesesteak was different than the one they use for their hoagies. It was your classic steak roll such as Liscio's or Amoroso's, very nice slightly crusty, slightly chewy exterior with a fluffy interior. Their menu claims they use 1lb of meat on the regular (12") steak. It was that or more. They used slices of steak instead of the chopped up steak. I like it either way, but prefer slices-especially when it is as tender as this. I got the cheesesteak special which comes with fries and is an outstanding value for dinner, ringing in at under $10. Although I drove home with my food and my fries were soggy (unavoidable) by the time I got home, they were STILL good! I can only imagine how amazing they would have been if I had eaten at B's. Boccella's is quickly becoming my go to place for sandwiches in Htown. If only they served pizza, I might never leave the place!

I had lunch here recently on a tip from our friend Nando here. Half sandwich shop/half beer stop (with a couple micro's on tap). I was very hungry and was having a hard time deciding what to have. I went with a mini meatball sub, and a Korean style BBQ beef taco. The meatball was good, but man was that beef taco good. Seasoned , shredded beef on a huge tortilla with a side of sauce. That was a nice change from the normal sandwich choices. Plenty of steaks, burgers, and hoagies on the menu, along with some sides... A full service deli. Can't wait to try other meals that they serve.

I can't tell you enough how much I love LOVE this place. I used to live around the corner and would get my lunch meat from there every week as well as last minute beer runs and meals 2-3 times a month. I moved out of Havertown 2 years ago and was very bumbed knowing I was leaving Boccellas behind. On a good note I was only moving to Newtown Square so not too bad. I have tried numerous places in N.S. for lunch meat and nothing even comes close to Boccellas so, I have started to make the weekly trip back for our lunch meat. B/C we were patrons the clerks know us by name and voice on phone, when I told her the trouble we were having with crappy lunch meat other places they told me b.c they have a small case they get 2 deliveries a week. Which would explain the fresh and delicious deli meat! Other than that they probably have the best cheese steak I have ever had and I am addicted to their bbq sauce, I would always ask for a side of it with my deli order to take home and cook with :-D Other things we have had and loved are, Grilled Chicken Texas, Tuna Salad, Chicken Salad, Chicken Cord Blue, Burgers (husband loves the Italian burger), and hoagies. You can not go wrong with this place.

Not the same place it used to be. The last 2 times I bought from Boccella's Deli, we've had problems. Yesterday, 3 of the 6 of us were sick after eating the food. The sandwiches, hoagies, and wraps, looked good, but the turkey hoagie was also not the same usual full of meat, good quality hoagie. I'm finished with them, traveled 2 towns to go there. If I want that quality and issues, I'll stay closer to home.

Local favorite. Standard deli menu with very friendly owners/operators who always put the customer first. Outstanding beer selection--beats any other local deli selection by a mile. Also offers growler refills. Owner knows his stuff and is happy to make a recommendation. Will keep coming back!!

Happened to be in the area yesterday and needed a quick breakfast sandwich and coffee. I have friends who like this place, so I gave it a shot. A place like this, in order to impress me, really just needs to do three things right. They need to taste good fresh off the grill of course. They need to be efficient and clean, and they need to be friendly. Wait a minute... that's actually 4 things. Well, no matter what, they passed all of my tests. It's a nice local joint, they seem to have a good amount of selection in front of the counter, they seem to be well run behind the counter, and the lady who served me was extremely nice. The most important part... the bacon egg and cheese bagel that came off the grill was as good as any I've had.

These folks really push the envelope, in a good way, when it comes to delis. This is a family owned place that has been around for years. The lovely wife and I have been visiting them just about forever. We stopped in yesterday for breakfast. I tried the breakfast platter that included three eggs, my choice of meat (sausage), a mountain of hash browns, toast, and unlimited coffee for $4.99. OMG, how would I pay the mortgage! I really appreciated that it wasn't greasy because I really hate that. They have a bigger platter that includes the same stuff plus pancakes or French toast for $6.99. After eating that it would be kind of embarrassing if I had to waddle out to my car. This place is not just for breakfast. These folks have a beer license and have cooler after cooler of beer including many great microbrews. But wait; it gets even better. They have six beers on tap. A deli with draft beers in Havertown; who would have thunk it! I could have a Magic Hat with my super large hoagie. What's not to love? If you are anywhere near Havertown I think it would be a mistake not to give these folks a shot.

This deli is solid. I have never been disappointed with a breakfast sandwich, BLT, or cheesesteak from here. They have a large sandwich selection on their menu, as well as sides, snacks and carry out beer. They're also very quick and reasonably priced. Always a go-to when on-the-go or looking for a quality sandwich.

Boccella's is easily the best deli in the Havertown/Ardmore area. Their hoagies are big, the beer selection is hard to beat (they also do growler fills!), and the service is top-notch!

My wife and I have been walking or biking to Bocella's for more than three years - always for breakfast. Our favorites are the egg sandwiches (I like the sweet pepper and egg myself) along with fried potatoes. Ask them to put peppers and onions in the potatoes. Great.

  • Kimberly K.

Breakfast is awesome. Got the BIG platter. Clean and not greasy- fluffy eggs and pancakes and toast and sausage and hash browns - cost 6.99. Coffee included! Can't beat the deal. Just added craft beer on tap_ good stuff like Victory? Growlers are way too pricey. Chicken Parm is the best

Deli eats with a side of unsolicited passive aggressiveness? I came here after a leisurely afternoon of shopping at Suburban Square (thanks to the doting Yelp reviews). Once I arrived, there were several things that gave me pause: 1) The stodgy, homogenized atmosphere that easily could have been the setting for a '60s era lunch counter sit-in w/ the exception of the Asian clerk behind the counter, 2) The somewhat limited pescetarians options, and 3) The fact that they were out of waffle fries - the very reason I came here after seeing a picture posted on Yelp that literally made my mouth water. I decided to give this place a fighting chance and ordered an eggplant panini... So far, all is well. However, let me mention the unconventional model they've adopted where you pay after you eat. That factoid will be very important later on in my review. I went and grabbed a seat and after a little bit of a wait, my food eventually arrived. It was edible, but nothing special by any means. The panini was bland (i.e., there wasn't enough provolone cheese; the eggplant was under seasoned; there was mounds of iceberg lettuce; and the bread was burnt) and the fries were also underwhelming. However, I decided to enjoy the meal for what it was, while watching the football game on the flat screen in the back of the dining area. I soon finished my meal, gave the clerk my tray, and quickly made a beeline for the restroom. Afterwards, I exited back into the store/deli and headed out the door, right pass the clerk, to my car (being that I'm not used to paying AFTER finishing a meal at a deli/lunch counter/non-full service restaurant). The clerk immediately comes running out after me saying, "Sir, did you pay?" Darn, I had totally forgotten and I graciously returned to settle up. As I walked back into the restaurant a middle-aged white male (who sat at a diagonal, behind me, the entire time I was eating) yelled to the clerk, "Good awareness!" Really? Did anyone solicit your off color remarks, sir? Keep your biased, passive aggressiveness to yourself. If these are the types of people who patronize this establishment, I have no interest in ever going back.

Great Beer selection for the area. Mix and Match 6-packs are a plus. Food is decent- great tuna hoagies, ok turkey and italian hoagies. Have yet to try their cheesesteaks, but I've heard that they are worthy. Would try more stuff on the menu for sure. I was there this past Saturday- one of the days it was about a 100 degrees- and the place was PACKED! Lots of takeout orders and dine-ins.

This is an excellent deli. Their hoagies are big and fresh, their bread soft. My regular order is a half pound of their buffalo chicken fingers with hot sauce to dip in, which doesn't sound like a very interesting order, but what makes it better here than anywhere else is the quality of their hot sauce. It appears to be a homemade mix of the Srirachi sauce and vinegar. It's fantastic. The service is friendly and the prep time is fast. The beer selection is vast and they even offer growler fills of four different, rotating craft beers at good prices. In general, I find their prices to be an excellent value for all things.

Great hoagies and sandwiches. The present owners took the deli over from the founders, and have lived up to the same standards of quality and portions. Nice and friendly proprietors always add that extra value, I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for huge portions of great hoagies and platters.

This is my go to place for breakfast sandwiches/hoagies. Highly recommend them. Their lunch and dinner hoagies age good too, but I go there mainly for the occasional breakfast. They also are a full fledged deli. Their prices are inline with other delis and stores for deli meats and cheeses. Great place to go to when in or near Havertown.

This is some weird hybrid of craft beer outlet, deli and convenience store just outside of Philly. But the cheesesteaks are legit -- huge, tasty, melty and on some amazing buns brought in fresh. The value is good too, and the waffle fries are the bomb. The only downside was that they were out of mushrooms and the hot peppers aren't spicy at all. Well, and it's sort of like sitting in a booth at a gas station (even though it's not one). Very friendly staff though.

Great deli with a lot of options for hoagies. I love their whole nine yard breakfast burrito! So filling and so good! Also they have an awesome assortment of beers. One of my favorite places in havertown. I wish I had something like this in east falls. Must try!! Keep eatin'

Best Chicken Fingers in the world. Even better than chic fil a which I never thought I would say. Their hoagies are amazing too, I have tried almost all of them. Beautifully sliced deli meats to roast pork, cheese steaks and chicken parm/meatball hoagies. All of them fantastic. Sue handles the phones and register and from day 2 she remember my name and always greeted customers with a smile and a quick convo. They also have a fantastic 6pack selection of beer as well as 3-5 beers on tap that you can order by the growler. There are plenty of higher end snacks available, both Italian specialties and things like deserts, beef jerky and plenty of deli sides. Definitely one of the best Deli's in the area and highly recommend!

Great beer selection and sandwiches. Been a handful of times. Favorite is the Cuban or cheesesteak. Staff couldn't be more friendly.

Great.

Friendly employees, nice beer selection, good breakfast, big fan of their chicken cheese steaks and panini's. Nice alternative to local pizza and hoagie joints.

Great hoagies and sandwiches. The present owners took the deli over from the founders, and have lived up to the same standards of quality and portions. Nice and friendly proprietors always add that extra value, I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for huge portions of great hoagies and platters.

Simply put, Boccella's is the best deli in Havertown. Hearty portions for a cheap price. Great beer selection (draught and bottles). My family and I frequent this place.

My favorite neighborhood deli and store. As a city person in the burbs, I wish all bodegas were this good!

Great service, nice people, and great homemade soup! They are always busy, so they must be doing something right. They can make you anything you want, breakest, lunch or dinner. I'm a fan!
