Have frequented this bagel shop several times. Always great service and awesome bagel breakfast or lunch sandwiches. Prices are reasonable. Very clean place, good service and good food--what more do you need? Plenty of tables to sit inside or out. Parking can be a little tricky at crowded times. We like the side lot as long as their are spots. If not the meters on the street behind are fine too.

Just wanted to remark about the Customer Service at one time I was scared to go in the store because of a lady behind the Bagel Counter. I asked for what I wanted and I thought she was going to attack me so I stopped going. I then started to go back after they fired the lady behind the counter and the lady that lost weight with brown hair was nasty and I think she is the manager now I wonder is this place really worth buying bagels from? I think the bagel place in Wynnewood will be my next stop

Not reviewing staff here. I grew up in the 50's when a bagel was Jewish, chewy and had a crusty glaze(water/lye bath). Bagels, lox, cream cheese and a side of crunchy half sour barrel soaked pickles were a Sunday tradition in our household. Into adulthood, I've always searched out the best approximations of those bagels from my youth, whereever I lived. In my 60's I moved back to Philly and set to finding those nostalic toroids. Until they closed, Bruegger's had earned it's place of honor as coming closest to the gustitory memories of those childhood Sunday ritual meals. After much searching and tasting for a substitute, the consolation prize(a distant second) goes to Manhatten Bagels. I know, it's a chain but they are as close as I've found. I don't have a car so Haverford is out of range.

Food is good, but customer service needs some serious review. I'm not looking to have a conversation but a simple hello should not be hard.

3 soft chewy Bagels for only 2.99. Go ahead, indulge! You might be like myself and say, "oh, I'll have two now and save one for lunch", but your inner fat kid will rear his/her ugly head and force your good intentions out the window while you shamelessly eat that last delicious bagel. I love the Wild Blueberry, the Cranberry Apple, and the Cinnamon Sugar. Although hearing Danan R. describe the Pretzel Bagel... I may have a new favorite.

Oh wow... Stopped here for lunch yesterday and can't wait to go back! I got the $6.99 Trio which comes with a deli bagel sandwich, cup of soup or salad, and a drink. I chose their featured sandwich, which was turkey, cheddar cheese, and green apple slices on a cranberry-apple bagel with cranberry mayo - it was simply delish, although I was thinking maybe a little arugula and/or red onion would have really put it over the top for me. Anyway, it is not on their regular menu but they should really consider adding it! I also had the Fire Roasted Tomato Soup which was equally delicious... It reminded me of soup I made at home a while back... Rich tomato flavor with little chunks of carrots, celery and onions... Mmmmm... My friend had the same sandwich as me and loved it as well, but she had the Butternut Squash Soup which she wasn't too impressed with due to it being a little stringy from the squash... The taste was good though... Overall, Bruegger's was a great experience for us!

The most perfect warm bagels with cream cheese! Right near my house and I love getting them in the morning and a very nice quite place to sit

Great bagels and coffee, but they also have great sandwiches and salads. In the Main Line it is hard to find a place that is not completely overpriced and under whelming for lunch, but this is a sure bet. The staff works hard and makes an effort to be nice, which is always refreshing!

I can't believe I reviewed Kiwi Frozen Yogurt before I reviewed Brueggers. They're in the same strip of stores but I've been going to Bruegger's regularly now for a few months. They make a decent bagel, in some unique flavors that I've never seen anywhere else. I'm partial to the rosemary olive oil bagels. They have all sorts of sandwiches, but this is basically a morning stop for me. I stick to breakfast and (iced) coffee. They keep the egg patty and bacon/sausage in a plastic warming tray behind the counter. You may get the perception that they've been sitting around as you watch the employee assemble the various components and heat them up, but the resulting breakfast sandwich comes out just fine. The smoked salmon sandwich is nice too. It's a touch on the pricey side, but look where it is. It won't make or break you though. They have a nice selection of beverages and shmears. The staff are friendly and efficient. Many a morning have gotten off to a good start for me thanks to Brueggers.

Brueggers is a bagel joint so keep in mind that the 5 stars is not for haute cuisine ... But what Brueggers does it does VERY well. Terrific bagels with the right amount of chew. Wonderful cream cheese spreads - not weak and over-whipped like some places. Fabulous coffee. Nice sandwiches and salads as well. My daughter loves their special - a french toast bagel with sausage, egg and maple cream cheese. I've ordered their bagels for functions - they always get raves. They also have great marketing and always friendly staff.

So got a dozen bagels and box of joe. Bagels were not precut. Apparently they do not carry knives or plastic knives so customers can cut their bagels or apply spread. I have never heard of a bagel place not carrying knives for customers. When we asked the cashier she was extremely rude and unhelpful. Have been to other bruggers in ny and nj with more helpful staff and they actually carry knives. Will not be returning to this location.

I guess this is probably a better place for breakfast, but now that I've discovered Du Jour across the street, I don't think I'll be back. This review is mostly reflective of the fact that they don't have chocolate chip bagels. I just don't understand why a bagel place wouldn't...

I had high hopes for my bacon egg & cheese on a pretzel bagel. It was ok. Not great, and not worth going back for. The bacon just tasted like salt and the egg tasted like it had been bathed in pepper. Ignoring the boring food, the customer service is the real reason I won't be going back. The lady behind the cash register was barking orders at customers and employees. She asked me for my order as soon as I had walked in and hadn't had a chance to look at a menu, and took customers' money by yelling at them to ask what they ordered when they were across the room and not near her cash register. I could actually feel the tension because this lady was making everyone on edge. I could understand her rush if it was busy, but there were a few customers causally strolling in, not more than 2 at a time, and the people making the food were never rushed.

I like this place. It's very clean. Service is prompt and courteous. The food is good. I don't drink coffee but the hot chocolate is very good. You can be in and out very quickly or grab a table and use the Wifi. I noticed other comments about the service being gruff or rude but I've never experienced that. The comments honestly have me perplexed.

Bruegger's in Haverford is just a typical bagel shop, without pizzazz or frills. I've never had outstanding service there, from my stops in at 6-something AM for coffee, to my weekend morning bagel sandwich runs to my salad pick-ups in the evening. No one's ever gone out of their way to be super nice or helpful to me. Though, once I went up for a second coffee and the fellow told me it was a free refill. That was nice. The bagels here are fresh, and the coffee is hot. If you're in it for the food and you know what you're getting, then you're coming to the right place. If you're expecting gourmet bagel creations, then you may need to look elsewhere as well. But that's just Bruegger's in general. Come for a egg sandwich and don't expect much more.

#trulife: i had a horrible experience at bruegger's in haverford. the people who worked here genuinely act like they don't want you to eat there. i get it, it's a chain bagel restaurant, i don't have high expectations. with that said, i would expect that such a successful chain would serve high quality bagels, but that was not the case. my bagel seemed not fresh and the eggs they used were some sort of processed egg-patty. i was not impressed. good for quick bite, i guess.

Bagel sandwiches are really good. The coffee is just OK. The reason for 2 stars is the awful customer service, especially from an assistant manager named Katie. Just dreadful crabbiness and attitude. Hey Katie we all don't want to work in retail but try a smile now and then and pretend to like your job. I doubt we'll go back here again.

Cheap ingredients make for a greasy, underwhelming bagel sandwich. The staff seemed nice. It's just your average suburban place that blends into the landscape. But I didn't come here for the staff, or even because it was "convenient." I came hoping to get a delicious bagel sandwich and it just kind of sucked.

Yes the service is mediocre. I've never found it horrible, but I'm not expecting much from a bagel place on the corner in a small town which is sleepy at all times of day except breakfast and sometimes on the weekends. I know it's a chain, but that has no impact on what you learn to expect from things near this area...if anything, I would expect less from them accordingly. Sometimes the staff have been frantic, surly, and/or unresponsive to requests (e.g., they have a company policy of not toasting the top half of any bagel which has cheese or significant flame-up potential on the machine...but I accept that, although it's annoying). They also have a bizarre student discount policy, only supposedly get 10% off if your school is one of the nearby six on pennants on the wall...but they have accepted mine from a school farther away when pressed to justify this imaginary boundary. Most of the time I don't even bother, because 10% off a $3 breakfast is just...miniscule. And that leads me to the good... Things here are cheap. The food is fresh(ish). They have lots of interesting ingredients to make sandwiches and salads out of. They have the option of cream cheeses in a variety of flavors, including lite selections. The soups have even been OK sometimes. I've seen plenty of people complain about their order and they will make it over again (I think this may be a response to the customer service complaints, but on the other hand, Main-Liners can be very entitled and feel like they deserve a new meal if the slightest thing is not as ordered). They have nice chairs in the front and free wifi, and it's less of a horrible mob scene than Starbucks et al. They have iced coffee chilling in the fridge. And the day old bags of bagels make for great duck (and goose) food if you wander down the block to the Haverford College pond after a meal or snack. Overall, the premises are clean, relatively inviting, usually fairly empty, the prices are good, and while there's always room for improvement in small features like service, I think this is "A-OK" as the rating suggests for what it is: a bagel place.

CHANGED MY RATING: CONTACTED BY CUSTOMER SERVICE with steps to address the issues mentioned below. Really appreciate someone willing to make the changes necessary. Will give them another try. How many reviews about poor customer service do you have to read before you do something about it? My gosh, you are a business, right? You rely on CUSTOMERS! Every time I ask for my dozen bagels to be sliced, you should see the look on their faces. I think this is part of the JOB. We just moved here from another state and after 1 month of trying this bagel shop, we'll never go back. Keep your rotten customer service and see how many people come in. You're not the only bagel place in the area. Oh, also, when I asked a manager why the clerk slicing my bagels was allowed to have her hair hanging in her face without a hat on, he told me they didn't have to wear hats, that a ponytail was "good enough". With no hat and 90% of your hair hanging over my bagels, it's not a very appetizing sight and I know this is not in accordance with the Health Department.

Just stopped in for a dozen bagels (around 2:30 on Sunday 12/23) and they were out of cinnamon raisin. When I asked if they planned to make more, they said no. They were open until 7pm that day and they weren't going to make anymore cr bagels?? Weak weak weak and lazy. I'm ashamed to be the duke of this place.

I've come here a handful of times to get a dozen bagels when relatives descend on me in hordes, and I think the bagels are quite good. Fresh, good consistency (substantial exterior with an interior that is not overly doughy). And the price is totally reasonable. The bagels also freeze very well (just slice them before you freeze them; they will provide a freezer bag if you ask). Not a fan of the cream cheese "products" on offer, but I can find my own spreads elsewhere. The sandwiches are actually surprisingly good for a chain, fresh ingredients and lots of options. I have never experienced anything negative with the staff. On the contrary they have been quite helpful and good humored. But I am sure it's hit or miss--depends who happens to be on duty!

Really loving the $6.99-7.99 trio special right now. My tarragon chicken salad on a pretzel bagel was full of almonds, red onions, chicken, and craisins in a savory, creamy blend; the pretzel bagel itself tasted like a soft pretzel with a nice crispy shell. The clam chowder was decent but didn't really stand out from the versions at Au Bon Pain or Panera; it was very hot though so kudos for that. The combo also came with a medium drink, too, which was definitely an added plus since that alone will cost you over $2 at Panera's. Overall, service was fast and friendly and I had a very filling and good meal for about $8, which is almost unheard of these days. Will be back to try the smoked salmon cali roll sandwich, which has smoke salmon, avocado, and wasabi cream cheese; it sounds quite interesting. Anyhow, will update once I try that but definitely stop in and grab a trio if you want a fast, filling, and very inexpensive meal that isn't from your local BK or Wendy's or McDonald's.

As others have said, the food tastes good enough but the staff is completely rude a d miserable to deal with. I would not recommend that anyone go here. Our food was made improperly and served cold. Just go to Panera
