Being Greek I am very fussy about finding Greek food to compare with my grandmother's and my own cooking. It is very hard to find authentic Greek food. Zorba's Opa is a delight, the food is as close as you can get to authentic Greek food. Try the Locanico, (greek sausage) you'll love it. I actually brought some in for them to try and now they get it from Old Neighborhood foods from Lynn, Ma where I'm from and my grandparent's live across the street from Old Neighborhood for over 60 years and that recipe comes straight from Greece, there is NO OTHER RECIPE FOR GREEK SAUSAGE ANYWHERE BUT IN GREECE. The food is cooked to perfection, BYOB which is great. Staff is so attentive and GREEK!!! The Lamb Souvlaki is awesome, nice greek salad is perfect dinner or lunch. Please go to Zorba's OPA and you will not be dissappointed.... You can eat outside which is a Greek tradition either have lunch/dinner or cup of coffee and a greek pastry... Maybe we'll see you there!!

Delicious food here! Pass by this place often and wish I stopped here sooner! Ordered chicken gyro platter first then came back next day to try the sandwich. The pita was fresh and soft, the chicken also tender. Delicious! Glad to have found this gem close to home. Great alternative to heavy fast food. Looking forward to trying the seafood here next.

This place is a nice, humble BYOB that makes an acceptable lunch. The beef/lamb gyro platter tastes like plenty of other beef/lamb gyro platters that you have had in the United States. The baklava is absolutely smothered in honey so if you're one of those guys that likes that style than more power to you.

One of our favorite local places. Had the hero platter last night for takeout. Always delicious and flavorful!

Further proof that you can't judge a book by its cover. Located in a tiny strip mall, Opa's interior looks like any average pizza shop or deli, however, one sniff and I was sold. You can judge food by how it smells! Wow! Fresh and flavorful, we can't wait to go back. The grilled octapus was very good, though I wish it was served whole. The Greek salad was the best I have ever had. We ordered the Greek sampler entree and the Gyro platter. Both were very good. The pitas were a touch stale? A little crumbly... But the chicken and lamb filling was phenomenal. What an exciting find close to home. BYOB.

My husband and I just ate lunch here. My husband is from Astoria Queens so he knows good Greek food. We had the tsasitki sauce as an appetizer. It was the best we've had outside of new York. I had the gyro platter which was delicious, no steak-umm type gyro meat. He had a pasta dish with lamb which was tender and delicious. We will definitely stop here again when we are in the area.

I'd love to tell you about the food, but I walked out. I'll never return to find out, either. My husband checked the website and saw that this place was open until 10. We heard good things about the food, so we thought the 30 minute drive from our house would be worth it. We got to the restaurant at 9:05 and we were ignored which was super awkward because there were no diners in the restaurant, but the waitress was right there and an older guy behind the desk. He saw us standing there and ignored us. After about 3 painful minutes the waitress stopped cleaning, didn't acknowledge us, and waived us to a tiny table in the corner with a couple of menus. My would-be chair was under a florescent sign that competed with my head for space. I asked if we could sit somewhere else (in the EMPTY restaurant, where I would be able to sit up straight, not hunched). The old guy behind the desk addressed us immediately for the first time since we walked in, "She's cleaning the rest of the room. We close at 10!" It was 9:10 at that point. I said, "Wow, business is that good, that you can turn people away, huh?" He ignored me and we walked out. Screw you, Zorba's.

My husband and I arrived at Zorba's around 9:30pm on a Wednesday, they still had the "open" sign flashing outside as well as 1 large party inside the restaurant. When we walked in, we made eye contact with the hostess/waitress and she kind of just stared at us and didn't greet us nor welcome us in so my husband decided to ask her if they were still open and she nodded and finally told us we could sit where ever. It also took quite a bit of time for the waitress to come around and take our drink order as well as our food order. I ended up getting the pork souvlaki pita sandwich which comes with greek fries and my husband ordered the lamb gyro platter and that came with a greek salad and lemon potatoes. The food arrived pretty quickly and everything was alright. The lemon potatoes definitely left something to be desired. Overall, I wasn't exactly pleased with the customer service and the food wasn't as fresh or as comparable as to some of the Greek/Mediterranean around Lansdale/Hatfield. Maybe we came here on an off night, who knows...but so far I think there's definitely better options for Greek than Opa in the immediate area.

I used to frequent this place a lot when I lived in the area. I ordered a gyro sandwich today and I was appalled when I opened the container once I got home. Not only did the price go up (used to pay $7.5, now it's $9), but the size of the gyro and amount of fries had shrunk significantly from a year ago. There was barely any meat in the pita but there was plenty of lettuce (some of it stale). If you're gonna charge NY prices, then you better deliver high quality NY food. Disappointed and will never return!

A friend and I had dinner there the other night. What a surprise! I don't know how far you'd have to go elsewhere to find Greek food as good and as authentic as what we had for a reasonable dollar. What impressed us most was the delicious tapenade that was put on our table free as we were greeted by the waitress. I'd be surprised if anyone would be disappointed with their visit here. And if you were, give it another try.

This is a small Greek place that I stumbled upon via yelp.. I live in the montgomeryville area so food options are either crappy chain joints or crappy fast food so once we found out about this we went immediately. This place is a breath of fresh air to be honest . The food was great, awesome and fresh. Nothing frozen or canned. All Made basically in front of you , cooked to order. The calamari were awesome. Crispy yet tender .The mix grill platter can feed an army and was delicious . Overall the food was 5 star worthy, only knocking a point off for OK service .. Wasn't bad ,just not as friendly as one would expect from a mom and pop joint that makes it's living on repeat business . That being said, if u are in the area def. give it a try , the gyro is huge and awesome ..

I know this place has pleased many people and the food was decent but BE WARY when you go here. My wife got a chicken gyro and could have choke on a sharp bone in the pita. They completely disregarded it and made us pay full price. The waitress was obnoxious and hardly spoke a word of English, and the man cooking it laughed when my wife showed him the chicken bone. Go to Yannis or Main St Pizza in Lansdale or the gyro restaurant in Q Mart if ur looking for a good gyro. Also Red Lion Diner in Horsham makes a phenomenal gyro but its about half an hour away. Just skip this place they don't deserve the business.

Vegetarian Review I wanted to like this place, but it fell way short. I ordered a bunch of different vegetarian items from the menu for take out. Nothing seemed really fresh. The eggplant and stuffed tomato were 100% made previously and microwaved before packed away for me. (I could see it). Flavor was ok, but Mediterranean food that isn't fresh? Pass on this one friends.

Had a fantastic experience a Opa recently and couldn't wait to post my excitement on Yelp! This small gem is tucked away in a strip mall on Rt 309 that is easy to miss. I hope that you don't miss this wonderful dining adventure... The decor is simple, the menu is replete with mouthwatering dishes and the service is top notch. You will love the seafood, the lemon soup, the authentic Greek specialties and the scrumptious desserts. And, best, the prices are VERY reasonable. Don't miss this outstanding dining experience. Highly recommended!

Zorba's Opa catered my son's graduation parties and everyone loved the food. I ordered gyro which came sliced in a large container which I kept warm in in the oven until serving. I also got plenty of Greek pita (delicious), tzatziki and lemon potatoes. My guests loved it andit was so convenient!

We have been here a couple of times and enjoyed it very much. I had the lamb souvlaki platter and my companion had spanokopita. They both came with salad and lemon potatoes and were very tasty. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have lower lunch prices, which is the only downside. We will definitely be back when we get a craving for Greek food.

Was looking to have something different for lunch today and decided on Opa which I had stumbled into a few months ago for dinner. The dinner had been delicious, but the 25 minute drive put the spot off my normal radar. I had a Falafel and Greek Salad, which came with pitas. The serving size was enough to take half home, which I finished off for dinner. There were 4 falafels which were very tasty and the salad was equally enjoyable. My wife had a gyro and French fries. She remarked about the wonderful taste after her first bite, and this was confirmed by her finishing it completely, which rarely happens at a meal. The French fries were also very good, cooked to the level requested--we'll done. The waitress was very pleasant and efficient. I'm sure I'll rethink the driving time as it is not usual to have such enjoyable food twice in a row. A bonus besides the fresh, good tasting food was the total bill, including tax, being under $ 20.00.

A little off putting from the outside... But an adorable small cafe style dining room on the inside. This place should be on the Main Street in Skippack or Lansdale and it would be much more approachable. It's a BYOB worthy of a casual weeknight out. We were brought a yummy plate of pita bread and an olive tapenade alongside our Pinot Grigio. Then for our appetizer... The saganaki flambé. Delicious pan fried cheese with a cognac flambé. I recommend squeezing a fresh lemon wedge over the cheese for that extra oomph. Lastly our entrees... Falafel with tsaziki and lemon potatoes were yummy... While my boyfriend had the mosxari stamrias. A slow roasted type beef over orzo and tomato sauce. We were thoroughly impressed by this unassuming place off of busy 309. Definitely worth a try if you like Greek food!

We stop here any time we're in the area. Love the falafel sandwich, if I decide to order something else instead, I always get one to go! The staff is always friendly.

Opa is a great place if you're looking for authentic Greek food. The owners and staff are really nice. The fact that it's a BYOB is also appealing. The calamari is delicious! A good appetizer for a group is the tzatziki or hummus. The soups (lentil and lemon chicken) are also good in summer or winter. For entrees the pastitsio, papoutsaki (stuffed eggplant), and Mediterranean chicken or shrimp are tasty. The vegetable platter is great for sharing. I've been here with vegetarian friends and they're normally surprised at how many options they have from the menu. Also, their lunch is good too. All in all, Opa is a pretty cool place because you can sit in and have a nice dinner if you choose, get gyros to go, or anything in between.

Excellent food. I had the grape leaves entree and the hummus. The atmosphere is genuinely Greek, and the staff are so sweet and friendly. Next time I want to try the lemon potatoes. Sounds yummy!!!

My family has had dinner here a few times, a cool little Greek place. The Taziki is perfect and you have to the lentil soup.

Many Greeks own diners, and I've often found that the best food on the menu at a Greek owned diner is...the Greek food! I learned to love gyros and slouvaki and moussaka at diners, so I'm always excited to find a stand-alone Greek restaurant that extends/expounds upon that food base. Zorba's is just such a place. The atmosphere is pleasant. It's typical Greek, lots of blue and white, and comfortable and bright. It's only a few weeks before Christmas, and even though we made a reservation my wife and I didn't need it. Plenty of available tables. Not a big crowd...they were probably at Chili's or Applebee's. Too bad for them. We started with some falafel and house-made tzaziki, crispy, hot and delicious. Not fat balls but flattened, which means more crispy surface to enjoy. I had the mixed meat entree, which had chicken, lamb, pork, and beef. I was feeling carnivorous and this pile of meat, pita, and a nice side salad with plenty of feta was a winner. Lemon potatoes on the side were awesome, and while there were only 3 wedges it was plenty given the mountain of meat I got, all cooked perfectly. I especially liked the crispy slices of lamb gyro. My wife had a classic chicken gyro, which was really tasty. It came with a side of Greek-seasoned French fries. We finished with a healthy wedge of the house-made baklava and I had a Greek coffee...so strong and sweet it was a dessert all on its own. I love Turkish and Cuban coffee, and now I'm adding a hot shot of the Greeks stuff to my home brewing lineup. Just remember not to suck down the thick grounds at the bottom of the cup...I spotted them just in time. I would definitely come back for more. I'm sure it won't be long until I need another fix of the feta....still need to try the dolmadas, and about 20 other things on the menu I didn't have room for.

Excellent food and fresh. BYOB! Service is ok and the place is a bit small but the food makes up for it. Love the stuffed pepper appetizer. It is delicious! They serve good size portions and lots of pita bread and sauce. Overall a good neighborhood place.

Cute, local Greek spot thats a family friendly BYOB. The food is wonderful and very reasonably priced. Most of my visits have gone the traditional Sovlakis, Gyros and Spanakopita route but it has plenty more to expand into like Yiouvetsi Sti Gastra. You'll just have to come here and find out what that is for yourself.

My dad was up in Pennsylvania visiting from Long Island which means this review may be prejudiced because Long Island has some of the best Greek restaurants ever. Anyways, we were in the mood for Greek and we found this restaurant. We ordered the spanakopita to split. You could tell from the look of the spanakopita that it was just microwaved. It tasted like it just came out of the microwave as well. Some spots on the spanakopita were cold while others were pipping hot. For entrees, I ordered the chicken souvlaki and my dad ordered the lamb souvlaki. He enjoyed his but agreed that for the portion it was overpriced. Mine was okay but the chicken was rubbery. Also, I ordered rice with my meal and got fries instead which upset me because I don't eat fried food. Our server was very slow and didn't seem like she understood what we were asking or knew what she was doing. I was very disappointed and very unsatisfied.

Stopped by and placed a take out order of chicken souvlaki with lemon potatoes. While waiting, I found it odd to see one of cooks heating things up in the microwave. I dismissed it. Brought my food home and found the souvlaki and potatoes to be fine. Then opened up the separate container for my small side Greek salad. To my surprise (disappointment), sitting on top was one of the pieces of red onion - completely covered in fuzzy blue mold. No mistaking it... Oh my. This was my second visit and the last. My first visit was a takeout Greek salad - I loved it and especially enjoyed the pita that came with it. Now this moldy onion has me thinking of Gordon Ramsay's "Kitchen Nightmares" and I won't be back.

Checked this place out on the high recommendation of a friend and it did not disappoint !! Went with 2 of my oldest friends who are foodies like me. We ordered "tapas style" because there were way too many interesting items on the menu. Loved the sampler plate that had eggplant spread and a variety of other greek cheeses. The keftedes were fantastic. The avgolemeno soup was just the right combo of lemon and chicken and creamy goodness. Pita bread came with many dishes and was warm and fluffy. Portions were HUGE ! Service was superb and food came out very quickly. It's an unassuming spot in a strip mall and often those are the very best kind of hidden treasures. Can't wait to go back !

what a great find! not going to lie, i was a bit skeptical about this place (despite all of the rave reviews) since it was tucked into a strip mall on 309. everything - from the service to the food - was excellent. our server was incredibly nice and thoughtful, although she didn't speak english that well. I'm avoiding gluten and when I asked her about whether there was any gluten in the dishes, she didn't understand what I meant. but after some discussion, we were able to translate and she understood. the food was all extremely fresh and delicious. as soon as we sat down, we were delivered a beautiful platter that contained cucumbers, tomatoes, pita bread, and an olive tampanade dip. we ordered the Greek sausage to start - it was good, but not sure if I would order it again. it was a bit $$ for the amount of food that you got. for our entrees, we had the lamb souvlaki platter, the beef & lamb gyro platter, and a greek pasta dish. we requested the lamb kabob to be cooked med rare, and it came out perfectly cooked. the gyro platter was excellent as well. i got a TON of gyro meat! oh the tzatziki was the BEST i have ever had. i dont know what it was, but you could tell it was freshly made and homemade! i could just eat that stuff by the spoonful. they ended up bringing out three complementary desserts as well. since I can't have gluten, they brought me out greek yogurt, topped with honey and chopped nuts. it was homemade and really, really good! way better than anything i've had in the store. i would definitely come back to this restaurant - you get great quality food & service for a very reasonable price. oh yeah - its a BYO as well, so bring along your own beer, wine, etc.!

Great Greek meal! Got a complimentary olive appetizer and galaktoboureko dessert, served by very friendly staff. The pita was plentiful, warm and toasty. Yum. Grilled octopus was perfectly prepared, well seasoned and tender. Portions were big and delicious. Loved, loved, loved the tzatziki! The chef even came over to say hello, after also checking in (in Greek) with other patrons. Will definitely go back!

Love this place...it is our new addition to the short list of "go to" places. I opted for a daily special...with the lemon potatoes. Super Yum! The complimentary Olive tapenade was perfectly seasoned. The tzatziki was perfectly garlicky, just like how my Dad used to make it. So good I bought my parents a gift certificate, after our first dinner there. super sweet staff as well. THIS IS A MUST GO!

Casual restaurant, very friendly staff offering great service and delicious food. The grilled octopus is to die for; marinated in something heavenly, grilled to perfection! Four of us visited Opa on a Saturday evening for the first time. BYOB was clean, not too crowded and presents "authentic" Greek food. Portions were very ample and we loved our food including grape leaves, the octopus, fish, beef and lamb hero and a Greek stew. Definitely coming back.

I never thought I would find such excellent, authentic Greek food tucked into a small strip on Rt 309 near Souderton. My experience is just further proof that one does not need a fancy location or lots of frills to have good, simple food at a fair price. The restaurant is clean and bright. It is a small place, with the kitchen right out in the dining area. I love being able to see and hear and smell the kitchen when I am dining casually, so it was great that it wasn't tucked in the back. The place is BYOB which helps keep the cost of the food down because they don;t have to pay for a license. I had the greek burger, and the meat was perfect. All too often the burger gets pressed and processed, but this was just perfect, cooked evenly and ot mashed. The meat was soft, juicy, and the bun was toasted just right. With the hot crisp fries and a small greek salad, it was an excellent, no frills meal. My wife had a gyro, I don't remember which one but it tasted great. The dill sauce was homemade, everything is homemade actually, so the freshness was notable. We will repeat, for sure.

Absolutely delicious! Dined here tonight for my daughter's birthday, and it was great! The portions were large, fresh and flavorful. We started with the spanakopita, which was wonderful. I had the chicken soulvaki, my husband had the lamb and beef gyro and my daughter had the pork soulvaki- all were outstanding. We finished our meal with the baclava and greek custard, homemade and tastey! Service was on-point. We will definitely be back.

I am a first generation Greek American and am very picky about my Greek food. Opa hits the mark on just about everything. If you've never tried Greek food, it is waaaay more than just souvlaki and gyro. The entrees are plentiful and well prepared. The employees are all very attentive. Special orders, changes, substitutions, etc are all fine and dandy. My only criticism (and warning) is their idea of a chicken souvlaki. Mustard?? Ick. Tell them you want the chicken souvlaki prepared like a gyro (tzatziki, LTO, etc). The location is kinda funky as it is in a small strip mall, but the interior is well appointed with a great sound track of bouzouki music playing in the background. Note, that ownership has recently changed but the food is still awesome.

If you like great greek food, this place has it. Mostly come for lunch but I have grabbed takeout as well. The gyro platters and sandwich are really good. But probably the most surprising item that keeps showing up is the lemon potatoes as a side dish. Really clean tasting.

The vegetables were way overcooked, the portions were huge, and the open door let in a cloud of relentless gnats that swarmed our sloppy plates.

Stopped in for lunch... great service and my gyro was excellent! Looks like this place might be a BYOB for dinner as well. Happy I found some local authentic greek food!

Awesome huge suburban portions! The Greek salad with gyro meat would have been a meal in itself - but I had the lamb stew as well. Basically if you want something different that is decently priced etc - come here!
