We LOVE Mom's!! Our kids would rather go there than anywhere. The water ice is, IMO, so much better than Rita's. I hate the runny-ness of Rita's, and by the time you are half done you are drinking it. They have LOTS of awesome flavors. Their hand-dipped ice cream is also the best in the area, and they have some really unique flavors to choose from. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that they always seem to be "out" of the best, newest flavors. If I try something once and like it a lot I can never seem to get it again (hand-dipped ice cream, not water ice). Their soft serve is very good also. Service is great... but expect a long line, because lots of people love Mom's!

Having friends who live within walking distance of Mom's gives us a great excuse (as if we need one!) to hit up Mom's for ice cream. I usually get a Polar Blast (like a DQ Blizzard) and leave happy with a huge ice cream coma. Menu items galore, and frequent new items/flavors, allow for a great deal of treat customization. I always leave saying I can't wait to come back and try something else. They only downfall in my opinion is their Italian Ice is not great. Not bad, but not great and for and place that advertises Italian Water Ice I would expect better. With the weather being this hot I'm pretty sure we will make a run to Mom's by the end of the week.

The heart and soul that Rita's never had. ATTN TEENAGERS ON A DATE: The gazebo to the right of the back of the building is an absolutely fantastic date spot. Many a first kiss and first relationship breakup have been had there. Use it wisely, for it is sacred ground.

I love Mom's First of all, you get a lot for your money. Usually the water ice, or ice cream is overflowing out of the cup. This is, in my opinion, the best soft ice cream in the area. The water ice is great too. It is not as runny as Rita's, and to me, Rita's tastes a little artificial. You can get pretty much anything at Mom's that you can at any other ice cream, or water ice place. They have Gelati, Polar Blast ( like a blizzard), a whip, which is a gelati blended together, milkshakes, and anything else you can name. They only take cash though. That may be the only thing I would change. On a warm evening, there can be somewhat of a line, but they tend to move fairly quickly. Oh, and be careful not to run anyone over when you are pulling in, the entrance is right behind where the line starts.

Would have left 5 stars but they didn't have my favorite Mounds water-Ice. Seriously best place to get a frozen treat. The serving size is so large it explodes over the cup and the staff is aways friendly

So enjoy going to Mom's Italian Water Ice every summer. I love that they are still open after the closing of the HAC pool on very hot nights.

So many flavors to choose from! The water ice is always fresh. The ice cream is great too. The line can get long, but it's worth it!!

Average local little ice cream shop. It's hit or miss here. Example: I like peanut butter; they have signs urging people to try their peanut butter soft serve. Sounds fantastic, don't mind if I do...only the first time I went, the teenage girl at the window tells me something is wrong with the machine...or maybe the ice cream isn't ready yet, they just poured in a new batch. Okay...so...? She just shrugs her shoulders. I go back a week later (shut up, I really wanted to try the peanut butter soft serve), and yay, I got some. It was pretty good. Went back today and sadly, the ice cream sucked. Tasted like a huge overly-salty peanut in a cone. Can't say I'll realistically go back - too inconsistent. The hubs has tried a few different items (he's not a peanut butter fan) and his overall reaction is "meh, I'd prefer Dairy Queen." So, there ya' go.

Been going to Mom's ever since I was in grade school going with my softball team after a win. The menu is huge. The water ice is decent (tons of flavors) but what really stands out to me is the homemade ice cream. My favorite is the toasted coconut (with actual coconut flakes) and the chocolate peanut butter cookie dough. The Polar Blast is better than a DQ blizzard - I suggest a chocolate one with pretty much any mix-in. The portions are usually overflowing. The service is a little slow at times - the workers are young but they are very polite and attentive. Note that this establishment is CASH ONLY! Kind of annoying but I understand why.

Wow, this place rocks! So many flavors and combinations to choose from. I'm used to picking from maybe 10 flavors of Water Ice at most shops but they must have 30 at this place. I sampled a few and couldn't decide between two, the girl at the window suggested I get half of each which was great. I ended up with a gelotti and it was fantastic with the soft serve. I went with friends and all of us got something different. Everyone was pleased with their selection. My girl friend got Hard Ice Cream and I couldn't believe how different it tasted from store bought brands. So fresh and creamy with lots of candy mixed in. Plus they are so reasonably priced. Couldn't believe the portions, their small is everyone else's medium. Our whole order for 4 of us came to less than $20. What a deal! They did have a line at both windows but you could see the employees were moving as fast as they could. I'm pretty sure they were training a new person which seemed to take a little longer but we were out for the evening so it didn't matter to us. They were pleasant and polite and that seems to be rare these days. Place looked clean from what we could see from the window. At first we thought we'd have trouble parking but when we went around the back of the building there is another lot which had plenty of spots. They do only take cash though. It wasn't a problem given how little our order came to. All in all, I'll be back, found my new favorite water ice shop!

I have never understood what the buzz was about. I live down the street from Mom's and have been there five times over the past fifteen years I've lived in Hatfield. Of the five times I went, I wasn't impressed and two of the times I was not satisfied. I got a pink lemonade water-ice which was half melted. Another time I got soft serve and it was a bit tasteless. Their other ice cream is better. Also, don't look behind the cashier, the inside of that building is dirty, which is what made me want to not go back. I had a friend that worked there and she hated how dirty it was. The staff is mostly teenagers, some of them are rude. Most of the locals rave about how good it is, but its only good because its just in town. I think I'd be better off going to Dairy Queen or Freddy Hill Farms.

I love Mom's! I live down the street from them and I don't go super often, but every once in awhile I like to treat myself. I'm not a fan of water ice, but their ice cream is really good and I love their polar blast? (the blizzard type ice cream). I remember the first one got, when I went there I was 6 months pregnant and I go and ask for a large, thinking is just going to be a big ice cream and hello, I'm pregnant, I need my ice cream fix. It was HUGE, for like 5 bucks I got tons of ice cream and put it in the freezer for the next day. I recommend the oreo polar blast and the blackberry ice cream was yummy too. I think I might have to head over there tomorrow.

We have been going to moms for years since we live right down the street. I never would have thought to review the place until our experience tonight was so bad. The staff they have working this season stinks. My one son and husband got polar blasts and they were melted already when they got them. The outside of the cups were a mess and sticky. They had to basically drink their ice cream. I get the same thing all the time .... medium mounds gelato. Last year I was in heaven every time I ate one. Tonight's was awful. The water ice wasnt good and there was barely any ice cream in it and again it was given to me half melted and the outside of the cup all sticky. And then the girl never gave me my change. It was only $.50 maybe but still. How do you put money in the register and not remember you owe someone change? I just walked away because she was already helping someone else. They need to hire better employees. I realize they are high school kids but there are plenty of hard working high school kids out there. Why would you hand someone melted ice cream? Just so you don't have to make it again? If it was 100 degrees I could understand the melting but it wasnt hot this evening. Not a good experience tonight. Very disappointed. We use to love going there and it wasnt worth it tonight so not sure we will take the chance of wasting money again.
