Best Margarita Pizza I've ever had. Nuff said.

really good sicilian pizza and subs. One issue with the sicilian pizza and its that they put parmesean cheese on it. I never had a place do this before. Wife hates parmesean cheese so when I got home with the pizza she couldnt eat it. I wish they would have asked first before putting it on but now I know for next time. Parmesean is something people should put on on their own after its made. To me it was awesome as I like parmesean.. to the person who gave the bad review due to cleanliness, I never saw a pizza shop roll out the with gloves on, plus, its being baked in an oven, no germs will survive that. If this place bothers you then never look in the kitchen of a restaurant again, especially the ones you cannot see. I like the fact that I can watch them make my food.

I have lived in New York City for years. I move to Harrisburg in search of a tasty pizza. I have found that place at Tonino's. Seriously some of the best pizza I have had in my life. Plain cheese-- great, Sicilian-- so good especially reheated in your toaster oven at home. Also spectacular is their original cheese steak (with sauce on the side). I did have their cheese steak with the works and it was just ok. For me, there was too much going on in the sandwich. Other great items is their stuffed pizza (ham, pepperoni, Italian salami, ricotta and mozzarella served with sauce) Although it is a tad greasy it is a nice treat occasionally. I also love their regular Stromboli. Their fresh baked breads are excellent as well. I think the reason why I love this place so much besides the fresh ingredients is the use of their tomatoes-- the San Marzano tomato. This tomato gives the food an extra zest (not spicy) to it that is uniquely delicious. The staff is really friendly with me as well. I recommend eating here wholeheartedly. For the first timers: try the sicilian slice, original cheese steak with sauce on the side (you have to ask for it on the side or it is put into the sandwich), or the regular Stromboli. You cannot go wrong. Enjoy!

Good pizza ... crazy parking lot over the holidays. Yes, the Sicilian was good and I am looking forward to getting a special Sicilian (5 toppings). I also like the Marguerita pizza with fresh tomato and basil .... so good! The only questionable thing I had on the menu was the roast beef and provolone sandwich. The meats, cheese and bread were delicious but the tomatoes were a little funky as if they had been out too long and definitely not fresh. No matter .... I picked them off and finished off the sandwich .... hopefully just an off day. Service is very friendly and I will be back.

Stopped in at this place on a break from a training session. Service was quick and you got a lot for your dollar. The only issue I had was how messy their buffalo wrap chicken wrap appeared. It had chicken cubed, which I assume was pre-prepared for putting on the pizza as a topping. When I bit into the wrap it fell appart and got my pants, my shirt and even my socks covered in chicken and buffalo sauce. While the buffalo chicken was hot the messy experience gave me heartburn. Next time I am going to try the pizza and stay clear of the mess.

I've been going to this pizza place for many years. Not only do they have the best pizza close to my house, but the staff is so friendly! I would recommend their plain cheese pizza if you're taking it to go, or the margherita pizza, which is chunks of fresh mozzarella, chopped basil, and fresh tomatoes, if you have time to stay. The margherita doesn't seem to travel well; by the time you get it home it's a bit soggy. However, it does reheat well in the oven. I hear that the subs and hoagies are good too, but since I don't eat meat anymore I don't have personal experience with this. My family really likes their cheeseburger sub. If you're keeping a vegetarian diet, there are lots of pizza options available with vegetable toppings, or plain. They also make their pizza dough (and I believe everything else, too) from scratch on-site, which means that it doesn't have soy flour like a lot of processed, premade doughs (and it also makes it taste amazing!)

The subs are good for this area. Our choice when ordering out close to home for subs.

This is my favorite pizza place in the area. Ingredients are always fresh - in fact, we often see the cases of fresh tomatoes coming in when we have lunch here. The staff is very friendly and they prepare food with care. The restaurant is very clean. The sauce on the pizzas is amazing, the bread on the subs is absolutely delicious (and freshly baked), etc. It's all good.

I never judge a pizzeria on just slices as most local places make up a load of pies earlier in the day and pop in the oven for quick service. The only way to make a judgment is to order a whole pie and eat it straight from the oven in the restaurant. Tonino's is my go to place for pizza and as such all pies that I order are compared to their pizza. I am a minimalist when it comes to pizza, good tomato sauce, crisp thin crust and nicely browned mozzarella is what I am looking for. The sauce at Tonino's is made with San Marzano tomatoes which create a unique taste sensation that have made these tomatoes world famous for their flavor and price. The pizza has a great oily quality that comes from the high quality cheese and a crust that is fresh made with a crisp but tender quality. Bottom line, Tonino's maximizes 3 simple high quality ingredients and produces the best pie in town. I try to eat here at least once a week.Only complaint, small narrow place with limited seating and I hate parking in the front lot, I park on the side behind Pier 1 for easy in and out. Only try it in whole pie form.

This was not the greatest pizza I have had, but it was good. It definitely filled my craving. We stopped here for the food because the place we normally go to was closed already. I do have to say the seating area is a bit cramped and they certainly do not cater towards the larger person as all the booths are the same and can be a tight fit for a bigger person. The prices were ok however and the staff was very friendly.

Excellent pizza! I'm from NJ and finding good pizza elsewhere seems like a task. The pie was fresh and cooked to perfection. Nice staff and clean restaurant. Thanks!

Extremely friendly staff and quick to serve. I got the thick crust meat pizza (pepperoni and sausage), while my girlfriend got two margherita pizza slices. Mine was okay, though not as flavorful as I expected, but hers was quite tasty. 3-stars for now, but I'll definitely try them again!

One of my favorite pizza spots, especially when running errands. Plain cheese is always awesome but sometimes I spice it up with a slice of buffalo chicken. If you love fresh tomato sauce, order a side of sauce for dipping your crusts!

Great selection of pizza by the slice. Always loved getting their grandmas slice. Great Stromboli as well.

Will come back again!! The man behind the counter was extremely polite and very helpful. We ordered a pepperoni, onion, and jalapeño pizza. The jalapeños were fresh and the sauce was just amazing!!

I stopped at this place. Based on the overall good reviews. I've never left a review. But need to know. These people are NOT CLEAN. I'm big on cleanliness when I eat out. That's why I don't do it often. When they prepare the food. They use their bare hands. No gloves nothing. The bad thing is I watched them. Touch other things. There apron the cash register the credit card machine. WHO KNOWS WHATS ELSE. If cleanliness is important to you. Please don't eat here unless there is new management. The manager did the same thing. The health department needs to be notified!!! 1 star is to high. I just don't know how to remove it. This. Is. Not. A. Joke

This is one of the best pizza places in Harrisburg. I always stick with cheese because its amazing. The crust is nice and thin. The sauce is delicious and there is always the right amount of it. I always burn the roof of my mouth because the pizza smells so great that I refuse to wait for it to cool down.

Terrible pizza place. I don't normally write reviews, but I had to alert the masses on this one. I'd give less stars if I could. Rude service. Bad food. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. They don't even let you get a cup of tap water. You have to buy a bottle. Ok, fine. But then I received my chicken parm sub, and it was nearly completely inedible. Most of the chicken was chewy and tough (like those gross little pieces that are sometimes in general's chicken). I posted some pictures of it if you'd like to see for yourself. I had to throw most of it out and am still hungry after spending $8 on what I thought would be dinner.

I've been coming here since the Brothers Pizza days. The pizza is awesome - not much grease at all, unless you go for pepperoni. The subs are good, too.

Oh my gosh!!! I ordered the chicken fiorentino calzone. So big, it covered a paper plate times two!!! But the ingredients were super fresh, mozzarella and ricotta like I've never had, and garden fresh roasted spinach and red peppers. I don't know where they get their ingredients, but it was awesome!!!!

The reviews on here have me sort of surprised. I've given this place three chances because of its location (heck, I'm considering going again after I write this) and my impression is much less positive than what others have stated. The pizza is just okay - I've had the margherita (far too greasy and sort of bland; perhaps this was just an off day, however) and the cheese. I also tried the cheese steak, which was surprisingly great. The reason for the three star review, besides my opinion of the pizza, is, contrary to what everyone else has said, I've found the staff to be pretty rude and impatient. Maybe it's because I've been going during lunch hours, but they have not seemed to want or appreciate my service, which has been pretty off-putting. . Although they seem nice enough to everyone else, so maybe I just look like a jerk. Ha. UPDATE: I've been back plenty of times since this review. Staff has been great, albeit sometimes in a hurry. Bumping this up a star.

THE BEST pizza shop in the harrisburg area! If you like fresh tasting ingredients and pizza order the Della Nona (fresh basil, mozzarella, and tomato sauce to die for). You also cannot go wrong with the regular pie or any of their sandwiches. Every town needs a place this good!

I started coming here while working part time at Color Me Mine in the same plaza. The owner, Antonio, is fantastic and always greets customers with a smile. My three favorite menu items in order are the Regular Stromboli, the cheese steak hoagie and just a regular slice of plain pizza. Everything is fresh and so tasty! I go out of my way to visit Tonino's now because it's worth it! Also, their bruschetta is awesome, and worth a try!

Tonino's pizza is not bad, but certainly not the best in the area in my opinion. I only ever get plain pizza which is what I had here. I ordered a freshly made large one to test. I routinely travel around the Harrisburg area trying different pizza places. The place was packed at lunch on a Saturday so that is a good sign that they are liked. I tend to judge a place based on totally plain pizza as that is the original style and what I like. Service was fast and typical but there were no seats left in the place. It's tiny. I got my order to go. After eating a few pieces I determined that this was just your basic average pizza, good, but not great. At over 11 bucks I am not sure it was worth that though it is a cheap lunch for three people probably. Of course this is just my opinion. I did not notice any particular taste in the sauce, cheese or crust that outdid some of the other "Italian" type pizza places in the area. I also judge a pizza on left over quality since I tend to have some left over. As for having it the next day as a left over either cold or heated it was probably below average for some reason. It is hard to tell what causes this, be it the cheese or sauce quality or salt content. I was glad I tried it and they do offer a variety of specialty pizzas which people were buying like crazy. But I have no reason to return since it is not that close to me. If it was great I would return.

The pizza here is the best pizza in Harrisburg. Crispy and soft at the same time. The salads are pretty good too. Very friendly staff.

Forget pizza. This little secret pizza place holds the secret to world peace. This restaurant makes what may well be the best cheesesteak on the planet. Another review mentioned the fresh-baked bread, which is also used for the cheesesteaks. This bread is perfectly crispy on the outside and dense/chewy on the inside. It's hearty enough to stand up to the juicy steak, but not so much that it will eject the sandwich innards upon your first attempt to pierce it (as is the plight of the bagel sandwich). The standard cheesesteak parts are all of pretty much perfect construction, with the meat that has a good spring to it, and the same sauce that makes the remainder of the reviewers happy. Now... the something special that makes this place so awesome is that they offer this perfect cheesesteak in an even more perfect version. They call it cheesesteak with "The Works", which effectively makes it in to a supreme pizza. Specifically, they add sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, and onions to the mix, which makes the whole thing mind-blowingly good. I've been all over the country and have not found an equal. Honestly, I haven't even found a close second. Go try it... NOW.

Pretty good pizza and really NICE folks. They seem to know 50% of their customers. They're quick. When The counter guy saw me cutting up my son's pizza he offered to cut it for me. Just a laid back little pizza joint.

I had the Chicken Parmesan sub and was very disappointed. The chicken was severely overcooked and the roll was baked slightly burnt and hard to a crisp. The bread, although hard, was good and it was homemade. The staff was friendly and the service was average. Not a horrible experience but I will not be returning.

I love Tonino's! I love to treat myself to a slice of their Margarita pizza when I'm out shopping. It has fresh mozzarella, diced tomatoes and I think, balsamic vinagarette. Someone on here said it was bland, and don't get that. As soon as you bite into it, you salivary glands start going crazy. Their plain pizza is amazing too. I've always loved a thin crust pizza that wasn't too saucy. Much better than any chain place!
