Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

The food is heart-attackly crap-tastic. But the service is oh so nice at this location! 'Bout it!

I'm going to go against the grain here and say I really liked this spot. I'm a huge fan of Friday's over Applebees and I agree when others say "not all locations are created equal". My experience while visiting the Harrisburg area was as expected, good service and TGIF quality food. Server was attentive but the place was not crowded either so it leaves me wondering if people who normally visit are just cheapskates from out of town so maybe servers assume they'll get a crappy tip so they provide crappy service. I can see how my server might have seemed annoyed at one point but it wasn't blatant so I didn't give it much thought. Maybe after the good tip I left she gave the next person greater service, who knows. Food was TGIF quality and the place was pretty clean so overall my experience was that of a Friday's visit; as expected.

The worst TGI Fridays I have ever been to. Every time we have come here (2 or 3 times), the food is less than par and the order is always missing items or incorrect. I feel bad for the manager who has to pick up the slack. If you want a soggy sandwhich and cold fries, you found your spot.

Never in my life have I experienced customer service of such poor quality. We actually got up to leave after being seated and waiting on drinks that never came, but we were stopped by a very embarrassed host. It was dead in here, and it still took forever to make any progress on our order. Singlehandedly the worst experience I have ever seen. I've had better service at Comcast. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else.

The service was poor and I found a hair in my food. We had to wait about an hour for appetizers and our food

Can you give 0 stars. Got there about 10:15 and sat at the bar which was 3/4 empty. Was ignored for 10 minutes by the three bartenders. No eye contact, no acknowledgement. Even when the bartender was talking past me to people at a table off the bar. Avoid this place

Me and my boyfriend came here for valentine's day, and it was packed and they told me.that they dont do call ahead seating which i think is stupid. Anyways, we prdered our food and about an hour and ten miiutes later we finally got our food. The manager personally brought it out to us and told us it was on him...The food was ok on a scale of 1-10 it was a 5.5

My husband ordered two salads to go, one Pecan Chicken for him and one Yucatan Chicken for me. When he came home with our lunch, we opened the boxes. My husband's looked wonderful. Mine was labeled " Chip. Yuck Salad". This should have been my warning. I found a handful of lettuce, probably 2 oz. of chewy shredded chicken, a crumbled up rubbery tortilla chip, and some red onions, all over-seasoned which made my mouth burn and my nose run. It looked like someone's leftovers. I regret not looking for reviews to this place. I can't understand how it's still operating with such deplorable service and food. I feel cheated.

What city does not have a Friday's. It is exactly what you think and nothing more. It is exactly what you would expect and nothing more. The food is average, the choices are average, etc. Our waitress did something really odd. We had 9 people at a long table (2 tables put together). All 4 adults were at one end and all the kids were at the other end. The waitress stood at the kids end of the table and took orders. She literally was screaming to the adults. During the meal, every time she came to the table, she always stood at the kids end and screamed to the adult end. Really weird. She would walk past the adult end to service the other table right next to the adult side. Really weird.

This is the restaurant dump of the world. Never in my life have I had such bad customer service. On multiple occasions we were turned away because they didn't have enough waiters to serve us. So instead of giving us a wait time, they basically told us to leave. The staff is completely inattentive as well. I spilled water all over the table and myself and none of the waiters offered to help, despite being nearby. The food isn't horrible, but the service is so bad we do not plan on coming here again. Not even as a last resort!!

Not all Friday's are created equal!!! We started eating at Friday's back in the late 80's, when I was a kid - our first one was in Columbus, OH and what fun it was!! There are still some "good" Friday's, but this one in Harrisburg has never been that great. We've eaten at this one at least 4 times in the last 3 or 4 years - we are always in the area during the Hershey car show. The service is never great (and it was terrible the other night) - it wasn't even close to being busy. The food was good - it's always the same at Friday's - but there was no excuse for the poor service. And this is the issue we find with some Friday's - the service just isn't what it used to be. Thankfully some of them are still "good" but unfortunately, after several years in a row, this location has failed to impress us. PS - She seemed annoyed when we told her we received a "Stripes" special - told us she had no way to look it up. Huh!?

I haven't eaten at a TGI's in a while and we were shopping nearby. I should have read the Yelp reviews before deciding to eat here! The waitstaff were friendly and efficient. The restaurant was clean and we had no wait on a Friday night. The food--tasted good--but was not what I expected. I wasn't starving so I ordered a salad and an appetizer. The $8 appetizer stated Thai Tacos - 3 of them. When they arrived they were 3 nacho chips folded over! Seriously--not taco shells. The salad was a salad. My husband ordered the shrimp and chicken garlic skilled. The salad was extra. Again--small portion. He got one beer--our meal was $40. For what we got--it was not worth the money. TGI--you won't see us back!

To start the server forgot to bring the chips and salsa out, which is complimentary for stripes members and in turn brought it out after our entrees. She should have not brought them at all because the chips were cold and stale. Our steaks were tiny, they looked like they were cut in half. They tasted ok though. My friend had a burger that came with chips which he described as "nasty." The drinks were fine strawberry and red bull passion slushes. She also messed up the check. Not a good experience at all.

Wasn't my first choice of places to eat but, I ended up here. Never been a fan of big chain places and this just confirmed my dislike. The service was extremely slow which I could write off if the food was decent but, it wasn't. It took almost 45 minutes for me to receive my burger that was not very good. On the menu it was listed as a "100% prime burger with a fresh baked bun". Why if its a quality high priced burger can I not have it cooked to my liking? If you like these chain restaurants you will probably have no complaints, I was just hoping for more.

I prefer dining at local non-chain businesses when on the road. Sometimes, though, I need to be able to eat, run, and get back to work and so an established and predictable restaurant chain is what is needed. This dining experience was not much of either. Perhaps my expectations were too high for a weeknight after rush hour, but: it took far too long for my order to be taken, the dish (chicken breast) arrived refrigerator cold, the second attempt was so over cooked it could not be cut. Reportedly all staff were experienced hands and the dish had been on the menu for sometime. Whilethey kept my drink fresh and struck the entree from my tab, I lost significant work time in the process and still had to go to another restaurant and start the dinner process all over again.

Had a horrible TGIF experience last week. I normally love this chain for consistent food but will not go back to this one. We waited 15 minutes in an empty restaurant for a table, 15 more to give a drink order, 10 more to get the drink and on and on....l overall a two HOUR casual dinner! Each step was painful. At the end, they forgot to give me back my stripes card so I had to retun, just one final nail in the decision to not go back . So sad......

this is not a bad chain restaurant. i don't usually and not like reviewing chain restaurants because they are pretty much standard in food across the nation. if they follow the standards of cooking, ingredients, and servicing. the service of course would be different because of people; e.g., the cook - who the management hires, keeps and trains and the server - how they perform in their respective job. see my ranking of tgi friday's on my list of my favorites.

  • Heather K.

The food was average, about what I expected. I made the mistake of getting mashed potatoes as a side dish and there was some kind of "skin" on it, like if you leave gravy out at room temperature. Plus all my food seemed oversalted. My fiancé said that the waiter reminded him of one of the characters from "Waiting", and he joked about worrying about what they were doing with the food. Truthfully, our waiter was barely there, and when he was he gave us the impression that he had more important things to do. I felt very rushed into making decisions about my food. What did I like? I can never go wrong with their hot, crispy but gooey mozzarella sticks, and the vanilla bean cheesecake. Yum! I shared both with my guy and he approved. The wedge salad that he got was very good as well.

For a chain restaurant, on a road full of chain restaurants, in a town full of chain restaurants, this one ranks pretty much right near the very bottom. Boss was hungry for steak, so we wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse for lunch, but of course, they were closed, so we next tried Outback...they were closed. So, being hungry and lazy, we decided to try TGIF because it was conveniently across the street. I don't often say this, but whoever in our group that suggested Applebee's instead was right. The place was dirty. The table was dirty (and wobbly). The menu's were dirty. Staff was barely trained, if at all. Anyway, I figured I'd try something safe, like a chicken sandwich. Boy, that was a mistake. The "fire grilled" chicken had the all the taste of sawdust, and the texture of Firestone's best tire. The fries were ok. Edible seems an apt description. My boss had the "petite sirloin", which while differing somewhat in appearance from my chicken, had virtually the same (lack of) taste, and disturbingly similar texture. But hey, the coke was cold, right? What more can you expect.? Needless to say, we won't be going back here. Ever.

I've gone to this location several times and decided to go there today for lunch. The food tasted just like the same food at any other TGI Fridays and the service was prompt. On this occasion I did not take advantage of the bar but in the past I have and I can honestly say they have not let me down. The only downside I guess is that either their parking lot is weird or this is where the morons decide to eat and park their cars all jacked up in the spaces. The one complaint I do have is that when I walk in with two kiddos, one which is obviously still a toddler do not offer me a table with chairs in the middle of a walkway area... no thanks... I will always always opt for booth.

I remember back in the 90's when Martin Mull was the pitchman for TGi Friday's for a while. I thought the commercials were well done and even though I hadn't gone myself I got my grandparents a gift certificate for Christmas. They said they enjoyed the place except the music was too loud for them. Fast forward to last night...not much has changed except the menu slightly I suppose. We were celebrating my Dad's birthday - he is in his 60's and my Grandmother wanted to take him to the Texas Roadhouse, but they were giving us a 90 min wait which was too long since we were all hungry. We all got in the car(s) and headed across the street to TGI Fridays since again I had recently seen commercial which mentioned the new Brew sauce made with Harpoon IPA and the rest of the 'Brew House' menu. When I walked in there was a greeter and waitress conversing, I think they didn't notice I was there at first but I asked if we could be seated(it was around 5 w/ 7 of us) and they said 'Sure we'll push some tables together' that was just what I wanted to hear. We all were seated and our order was taken promptly - my brother had the Guinness Milkshake right off. I ordered a Shock top Raspberry wheat to see how bad it was and we all enjoyed the Jack Daniel's Appetizer sampler. The entree selections had been made and we all got our food fast and it was served exactly according to our order. I think 5 of 6 of us got steaks and they were tasty. I loved the Jack ribs the best, though. Overall for the amount of money this place has pretty good deals -140 plus tip for 6 with appetizer and drinks it pretty fair and the service was friendly and prompt. I can't say it would be the first choice to bring my Dad and Grandma but the food is good so the ambience is less important.

Under New ownership. Took away the $4 Long Island Drink Special, and that hurt my heart b/c thats why i went on Thursday nights not so much for the trivia, because i never really play. I'm not sure I will be making my once a week visits anymore. Outback has $4 drinks. my Average bill used to be like $30 for a meal and 4 tea's now it's like $45. But on a good not they now give you stripe points which the had not done in the past. in the end im not feeling the bar managment.
