Arooga’s Grille House & Sports Bar Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I don't understand the bad reviews. This was a great sports bar with some healthier choices that were welcome after traveling. When you are ready for a cold beer and some solid bar food this is a good choice.

Let's face it. When the Aroogas first opened it was horrible. The service sucked, the mixed drinks were horrible and the food was bland. I stayed away for years. So after years of avoiding this place a friend of mine invited me out to meet them for drinks one night. I wasn't planning on ordering anything. When we arrived we were seated immediately. We sat in the bar area. Our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered a beer, they had a special where you got to keep the glass, bonus points! I decided to live dangerously and ordered some food. I went with a half rack of BBQ ribs. They came out quickly and with a side of fries. The ribs were delicious and the fries were crispy. This was a complete 180 from the last time I was here. I can honestly say I will come back and hopefully it is just as good

The wings are decent, and any food I've had here has been consistently average. Honestly, if the service was not so terrible 4 out of 5 times I've been there, it would be a fine place to have a beer, eat and watch a game. The poor service, starting with 15 minute waits to be acknowledged by a hostess through the long waits before having your order taken makes this a takeout only place for me.

I've been here several times haven't had a bad experience . Their wings and service are great. Usually go on game night get endless wings cheap.

I have been to this place a couple years ago and swore I wouldn't come back, but yesterday I gave it another chance and I absolutely LOVED it! The menu had so many more choices and they were more diverse. Also we had our own little private tv at our booth which is always awesome! What I wasn't ecstatic about was that when I sat in the booth I could feel a noticeably large "hole" where the last customers sat and it definitely caved in. Also, our hostess, not waitress, had her uniform way too low cut and looked very trashy. Other than those two things I enjoyed my time there ! I would give this place 3.5 stars, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

The food here is good and the menu is huge so there is quite a bit to choose from, the service is ok. I've been in twice in the last month and both times someone's order came out wrong. They were nice about fixing the issues. I will be back.

Ribs and Chili are very good. Also good is the late hours of 2:00pm where not much is open after 10. Could have gotten a better rating but the service is slow and the appetizers were late and on top of the entrée. They need to work on the service.

Stopped in a little while ago, on a Friday night I believe. And just wanted to get some appetizers and a few drinks with some friends. There were approx. 6 of us. The food is way overpriced, especially for being pretty mediocre. They have a huge menu, I just wish the food were better if I'm paying that much for it. Also, our server was no where to be found for long lengths of time.. ended up having to go to the bar for refills. Waited around forever for our check. Turns out she was too busy flirting with some old man to take care of us. I'm sorry, I thought Arooga's was a restaurant... not a strip club...? Definitely not at the top of my list, and far from the best in Hanover. If they keep going this way, the place won't last... and I won't be sad to see them go.

I read the reviews before going here- they were mediocre at best.... but if you are looking for a good sports bar with lots of tv's, a scratch kitchen, good brewery beer, and great service (and hot waitresses-at least hot for central PA) then this is a great spot. food was very good. nice central location . all in all, i was impressed. Thanks for a good experience.

I've visited these folks twice and it's the perfect example of a Yelp A-OK 3 star place. I sat at the bar both times and experienced a total of three bartenders. They were all A-OK and did nothing good or bad that would make them stand out. I ordered a boli on one occasion and a burger on the other visit. With each item the value for the price and the quality and flavor were fine. Once again nothing special or nothing bad to make them stand out. It was just another sports bar meal. The beer list includes about 30 taps. They are a mix of domestics, house beers, and common crafts. If you are a beer aficionado you would not go out of your way to come here but you would find a craft or two that were acceptable. Once again, A-OK. If you're craving bar food and a beer and want to watch a game on approximately a zillion TVs, this place will get the job done.

First off, the menu is way too big. With all those items, it's no wonder the food was terrible. The "Maryland" crab soup tasted like it had a gallon of salt in it, had fettuccine noodles (just strange), and virtually no crab. Don't call it something it's not! The cheese steak had barely any meat on it and the bread was hard as a rock. On top of that, when we politely pointed out the problems with it, the waiter was very snooty. We aren't picky people and both work in the restaurant industry, so we try to be considerate patrons. That being said, when you pay good money, you expect decent service and food.

Worst restaurant experience ever. A 60 minute wait when at least 25% of the tables were empty due to a "kitchen backup". We witnessed the manager discipline the staff in front of a lot of waiting customers. He accused them of not answering the phone but yet the phone didn't ring the entire time we were waiting. It took almost 15 mins to get drinks once we got seated because the soda machine malfunctioned. Then part of the order was wrong and there was a long hair in the mac & cheese. The manager never apologized and said something like he had no idea where it could have come from - I felt like he was accusing me of lying.

This is only the second time I have been to Arooga's in Hanover, PA. The first time the food was excellent. I had a Philly Cheesesteak with lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and mushrooms. The only issue was the added on cost of unknown extras. To my surprise it added up fast and was $5 more than I figured the bill would be. This second time was different because I was prepared for the extra cost. Also the menu was different and showed the cost of the extra items. I decided to order a burger to try something new. The food was not as good and the burger was not even seasoned with salt or pepper. It was not terrible but just mediocre. At the beginning of the meal the service was excellent with the waitress being very attentive to our needs. When we were ready to leave I had to track her down and she was in the back talking with another employee. She also mis quoted a price on an item and was more than happy to take the extra cost off the bill. It took about 5 minutes to work everything out and pay our bill. If you are looking for a place to watch sporting events eating burgers, and wings that are prepared with little attention to detail, this is the place to go. Just be prepared to pay more than the listed price on the menu. Personally I do not think I will be back for a third visit.

Arooga's is a small pub chain with a sports bar theme, lots of TV's. The menu is huge, too big. Good selection of beer but all keg beer no cask beer. The menu was not always accurate. The top of page said all entrees come with two sides, but the dish I ordered was an exception. My main complaint was appetizer came at the same time as my main course. The waitress takes your order but someone from the kitchen was bringing the food so there is a communication break down I suppose. The menu says "natural cut fries" but this is misleading they are not fresh cut fries they tasted pretty bad. What does "natural cut " even mean, is there an un-natural cut of a potato???? My food was hot, tasty and portion size was good. Arooga's is good value for money . So I had some small niggling complaints with Arooga's but I will give a second chance to see if I just hit on a bad day, or management needs to be more on top of things.

Let's face it, Arooga's is what it is! And that is one of the better sports bars I've ever been into! If you are looking for haute cuisine, this ain't the place. You won't get an anchovy on your Caesar salad and you won't get blue cheese stuffed olives in your martini, but you will get cold beer and great wings. The beer selection is good, the menu diverse and frankly, any place that has "Hop flavored wings" simply ROCKS ! Plus you can't sell short the deep-fried Ripper Kobe hot dog, OMG ! The worst part is I'm going to have a stiff neck with trying to keep up with all the different sporting events on the multiple TVs, the good news is dancing with the stars is not on here !!!! I would come back multiple times, oh wait I have.

Finally, a reason to travel to Hanover for a meal. OK, the place is brand new, occupying what used to be one of those dreadful Damon's franchises, and it's got a few flaws. But, I think it's destined to become a welcome addition to the little burg of Hanover. That being said, Arooga's ain't for everybody. If you hate television, you'll hate this place. There are 60 or so TVs dangling from the ceiling. There's a TV at your booth. There are TVs situated a foot above the urinals. There are probably TVs in the women's bathroom stalls, too. And after scanning the main room, looking out over the sea of pixels, I got this great idea: why not open a Porn Bar? Think about it. Sixty monitors dangling above you, TVs at your booth and above the urinals all showing... Sorry for getting off the track. Now that I really think about it, that's a terrible idea. The waitstaff, what I saw of them, aren't the most adept servers, but what they lack in professionalism they more than make up for in friendliness and enthusiasm. All of the waiters and hostesses offer you a smile or a friendly greeting as they pass by. I credit this, at least partially, to a group of young Hanoverians who are just happy as clams to have jobs, but their positive demeanor towards the customers feels genuine, nonetheless. There are a few typos in the menu at Arooga's, but that's to be expected since the thing spans 11 pages (actually, playing find-the-typos is a fun way to kill time while waiting for the food to arrive). That food list is so expansive not because of the styles of food offered. It's all pub grub, but the variations are stupefying. There are over 30 wing sauces, a dozen French fry creations, and 20 draught offerings (not a big deal in Baltimore, I guess, but pretty cool for this little speed trap between Frederick and York). The food is quite good, but its presentation could use some tweaking. I ordered a General Tso Chicken & Rice wrap, which was a very tasty and imaginative use of hand-held technology. I also opted for the onion rings which turned out to be top notch especially after being dusted with some large-grain sea salt from a salt mill at the table. But the wrap and rings arrived at the table in a paper-lined basket. I know it sound petty, but the addition of a hard plastic plate with a little added color (like a piece of lettuce and a tomato slice) would have elicited a "Whoa!" from my lips when the meal was placed before me, instead of the "Hmmm" that came out. I arrived there at 11:50 a.m. for lunch and was whisked immediately to a booth. But as I walked out at 1:15, the long front passageway was filled with about 30 people waiting for a table, with another 20 milling about outside. Sure, the eatery was less than two weeks old, so that throng could easily be explained away as curious locals checking out the new place with the funny sounding name. But, I seriously believe Arooga's will continue to thrive in Hanover long after the novelty has worn off.

I keep coming back to this place because the food, especially the wings, are very good. However the service always stinks. Slow incompetent wait staff and kitchen. Management should really work harder at training and get rid of those who cannot cut it

How's the saying go? "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice..." I went back. My brother and nephew stopped for a visit and I took them to dinner. They wanted to go to Arooga's. I didn't protest, but I wish I would have. I ordered the chili cheese burger. It was disgusting. There was only one plus. Our waitress was very friendly. I believe my brother asked her how the prime rib steak sandwich was and she said she was a vegetarian. I would be willing to bet that she was a meat and potatoes girl until she started working at Arooga's. One taste of their extremely sub-par meals has her believing she will never eat red meat again. READ THE FILTERED REVIEWS!! READ MY FIRST TWO REVIEWS!! This place is a dump, with dumpy food. The service was good this time but usually that sucks almost as bad as the food. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

I loved this place! I just started working in the Hanover area and seen this colorful restaurant everyday. Sunday was my early day so I decided to give it a shot. I took my girlfriend and 2 little babies in for dinner. I like the leveled layout and had this "cool" feeling when I walked down the ramp. Our waitress was beautiful, polite, prompt, and her presentation was awesome. I tried the Arooga Light beer and loved it. Very smooth. I only had one because I was too busy eating everything in sight. Wings for $0.39, oh yeah. We tried the Hot and sweet n tangy bar b que. Hot was HOT. 2 crab cake meal for $17 wasn't bad but they were a little on the dry side for my liking. I still ate them. Ceasar salad, corn with old bay, loved it! Baked potato soup bowl was some of the best I've had. Will definitely go back and probably on Tues for AYCE crab legs for $19.99. I drive a hour to and from work and it looks like I will be back to Hanover on my day off. Love this place! Now where we need help. The wings for app? 17 minutes to come out and the other food was 1 minute later. A little timing issue! That could be a problem in the kitchen but the beautiful ladies made everything seem so pleasant.

Waiting for drinks for over an hr, messed up on the orders, one of the waitresses gave attitude, overpriced food and drink, overallthis place isn't the first place I would go

This place was really fun and really different from the other bars we went to in the area. I was waiting for my friend to get off work, so I went here and sat at the bar and watched football and read a book until he was done. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They were very talkative and kind and understood my situation in terms of waiting for my friend since I was completely new to the area and simply visiting. I drank a pint of Guinness, a Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, a Troegs Mad Elf, which was native to the Pennsylvania area, and a very large (not by request) cranberry vodka. Apparently the place gets very packed on weekends, so to the point that you can barely move, but when I was there on a Tuesday evening, it was very comfortable, yet still busy. I've heard from the people that are regulars there that the food is delicious and apparently every Tuesday is all-you-can-eat crab legs for $18 if you are into that sort of thing!

Went there twice. It was loud, a sh*tton of TV's were skewered all across the place, and the food was nothing special. I also tried four different wing sauces and did not like any of them which is surprising because i usually love buffalo wings. Service was pretty slow as well. Don't plan on going back anytime soon

We had the most horrible experience here. We will never go back. No kids menus (they were out), no chicken tenders, and they didn't have anymore of the beer my husband wanted. We order, and they bring my kids cold, hard, French fries that were HORRIBLE! I sent them back. Then, the wings were completely overcooked! The sliders I ordered were so tiny and cold and the loaded fries were the hard, cold, fries my kids sent back with a sprinkle of cheese. The waiter gave us refills of the wrong drinks and the wrong sauce for the wings. Extremely disappointing. If we weren't so hungry already, we would have left. We will NEVER go back.
