My favorite sushi in the area! It's good to have a nice sushi place in the area when a trip to Pittsburgh is not possible. The decor of this place is cool with neon lights on the wall and what looks like a lot-up onyx hostess stand. In addition the staff is helpful and friendly. This is also a hibachi place so my husband always gets hibachi while I order sushi. Although they are a little tiffed when you don't actually order hibachi when you sit at the grill. My favorite is the playboy roll. It comes out in flames for an impressive presentation. And I love the mayo sauce on top. I've also gotten my standard yellowtail and eel rolls and the fish always tastes fresh. This place is fun for group dinners or just a friendly lunch date.

There was only 45 people dining on the night we came. We waited for an HOUR for a hibachi shef to come to our table. There are a total of seven hibachi stations that seat 11 people each so obviously there were empty stations. There was no excuse why it took so long on a night there was zero wait. Poor planning by the manager. The food was not bad but I'd skip this place if I were you.

Came in before going to see a movie. 2 out of our 5 guests tried to be seated for hibachi but they made us wait because they said they don't seat until everyone in the party arrives. They then proceeded to seat 3 other parties for hibachi that not everyone was there. That being said we did have Maury on TV to keep us occupied. As soon as you walk in the door the TV above the hostess stand...super classy! The host was in a very wrinkly untucked dress shirt. Not the the friendliest fellow either. Didn't seem to interested that we didn't understand the above stated policy to indulge us a bit more with an explanation. Also while we waited i saw another employee who I'm going to assume was a manager of some sorts stand by the register and dress in his wrinkly blue button up over his white tshirt. Super professional at 6ish in the evening! The chef was ok. Nothing to overwhelming or special with his routine. I ordered the chicken and steak special. It was pretty bland. Chicken was a bit tough i didn't eat much of it. Fried rice as i know it more than just rice, eggs, and soy sauce but i always expect to much from places i guess lol. The waitress was the good part. She was very attentive and never let a drink go empty. All in all i won't go back. Bring back buffalo wild wings!

I've gotten takeout here quite a few times now. It took me a while to try sushi here, because let's face it, you'd be a little bit skeptical of small-town western Pennsylvania sushi too. However, my suspicion was totally unwarranted. This isn't the best sushi I've ever had, but it's nothing to look down your nose at, either. I've only been at lunch and I've only gotten the sushi combo. For about $9, you get two rolls, plus a soup and a salad. I'm not a fan of their salad, but the miso soup isn't bad. All of the rolls I've had have been good. The spicy salmon was only okay, but the regular salmon-avocado and tuna were both quite tasty, as were the yellowtail and the shrimp tempura (both worth the $1 upgrade). So far, the salmon avocado roll has been my favorite. Nothing's outstanding, but it's always been good, and it's never had that sketchy fishy smell or taste. I only ate in once, and service was good. Take-out has always been completely accurate and impressively fast. They obviously have hibachi as well, but I haven't tried Edo for that yet. This isn't a destination sushi place-- I certainly wouldn't go out of my way from Pittsburgh for it. But on the other hand, if you find yourself in Westmoreland County craving sushi and you don't want to make the trip to Pittsburgh-- it's a satisfying choice at a very reasonable price.

Seriously!!! I went here for lunch and this place was empty. I was expecting some sort of crowd being next to the mall. Should of saw the sign to RUN!!! I got some miso soup, which was like water. Absolutely no flavor. And the maki rolls, were the worst in my life. Giant eagle does better. But in all honesty if you want sushi, avoid like the plague and got to Robokyo or Wasabii.

I recently had dinner here with a party of 7 people. I personally like this place a lot. The sushi & sashimi were great & the presentations were inventive & elegant. The waitress was very helpful & patient! Will definitely come back here!

Rushed us out the door after eating. They put the checks on the table before we were done eating. The food was good but service wasn't. I will try it again soon. May have been a bad night. Sushi is fresh and tasty.

Worst Hibachi food we have ever had. The cook was very inexperienced and over cooked everything. I would never go back here. If you want good Japanese Hibachi food go to Robokyos in Greensburg they are the best around!

LOVE Edo Hibachi. I've been to quite a few hibachi-style restaurants in Pittsburgh and beyond, and this ranks near the very top. My review speaks specifically about the hibachi dinner--not the sushi, as I have yet to try it here. The location could not be better. There are a few other hibachi restaurants in the area, but all are awkward and not an easy in-and-out. This is a great location to meet with friends as it is right behind the mall, and that also means ample parking. My husband and I have been here a few times during the dinner hours, and it's always got a steady crowd. Not dead, not overly-busy; I've seen on their site that they accept reservations, but we've never had to make any. This is ideal, as we can properly plan a time when meeting up with others. However, I'd also be afraid if they weren't busy.... My favorite is the filet mignon hibachi. It's always perfectly cooked to my liking, and so flavorful that none of the extra sauces are needed. Portions are excellent for both lunch and dinner, and I really enjoy getting the noodles as an accompaniment instead of other offerings I've seen at other restaurants. I especially love coming here for lunch--you can't beat the prices! I feel that I could not get as good of a lunch anywhere in the area, and the prices could compare to chain restaurants where the food quality pales in comparison to what you'd get here. As for the chefs, all have their unique personalities but always put on a good show. Other reviewers have said they don't like having sake shot into their mouth, but I feel that all of the chefs here aren't overly pushy and will let up if you communicate that you are not interested in the sake portion, or catching broccoli in your mouth! If you don't want the hibachi "show" experience, I'm sure you can get some of the same food at a non-hibachi table--although, I've never asked. Call in advance if you're interested in this and I'd bet they would be willing to accommodate. Overall, I'd choose to come here over the more expensive places closer to the city. It's great having this place close by, and with such great food choices. I can't wait to try the sushi someday, but I have such a hard time getting anything other than the filet! I find myself constantly recommending Edo to friends and family in the area.

I've only ate lunch here before, but super good! Way better priced then some other hibachi/ sushi places in the area, lunch is only about $10 and I always get a box to go lol their bar is really nice, and their drinks are compatibly priced.

Great new place in Greensburg by the mall. Nice atmosphere with wide open space so you don't feel crowded or hunched while sitting at the hibachi tables. Chefs are very interactive and try get everyone involved while cooking.

In town from NY. My second time here. Met up with my friend who lives in town. My friend's first time here and first experience with sushi. We sat at a table by the bar. She's not ready to try anything raw. We started with Edamame was delicious and Gyoza was not crispy enough but taste okay. We had a few rolls. The Playboy was excellent. Lobster Fantasy Roll was served on a flaming hot plate. Grand presentation and delicious. Shrimp Fried Rice was tasty and light. California Roll was the usual. I had sashimi ala carte. White Tuna, Red Snapper, Manago. All very fresh. For dessert we had Mochi ice cream, Green Tea and Red Bean. It was too frozen and rice flour tough. I would not order again. It was semi busy for a Thursday night. Service was excellent. Took our time, no one rushed us. 2 waiters served us. Was there for about 3 hrs. Again another nice dining experience.

Amazing meal, the lunch specials are a great value. This place is by far the best hibachi restaurant in the area and the prices are extremely reasonable. Great place for company dinners and family get togethers. Can't get back often enough, I would recommend it to anyone, including strangers.

Food is pretty good. That is going to be the most positive thing in this review Servers are terrible. Rude, non-attentive Try their best to get the customer to say "keep the change" by avoiding bringing back your change. We literally waited 20 minutes for her to return with our money and that was only by hubby chasing her down Now, from what I heard, pay with cash only. Was supposedly problems with amounts taken off credit/debit cards

Not bad, especially if you don't want to drive to Monroeville for sushi.

Incredibly impressed with the sushi quality, presentation, and value. I got the Sushi and Sashimi entree for 26.99 and was blown away. Also I highly recommend the lychee mojito.

I liked the fact they had $1 kids meals on Sundays, but the food we ordered wasn't that good. I've had much better. I had steak, even with the guy cooking it right there he over cooked it bad. it was well done even know I asked for medium. I might give it another try and hope for another cook.

We sat in the dining room and had Hibachi. The restaurant is extremely modern with "club-like" music playing, and the bar area has a great selection. Would definitely recommend for a night out or drinks. Our food was delicious and our server was very helpful. Would absolutely recommend.

I have been here at least half a dozen times now and always have a nice experience. I have gone in for Hibachi and sushi and just sushi. The Hibachi is pretty similar to places like Yokoso and Shogun, although the quality is not quite as good as Robokyo. The food is delicious, but the steak seems like a cheaper cut or quality. However, the flavor of Edo is much better than Robokyo or Shogun. Everything at Edo tastes very fresh and made with a lot of care. The sushi is always bright and colorful and served at the perfect temperature, which is close to room. They serve very typical saucy, Americanized rolls, but the sashimi is very authentic and served amongst a lovely display of ginger, wasabi, and a sesame sauce design. I typically order steak if we go for lunch and teriyaki chicken for dinner. The lunch portion is smaller, but still very filling. Both lunch and dinner come with salad, soup, rice, noodles, and meat and/or vegetables. The miso is pretty good, but hands down, Edo has the best ginger dressing for their salads of any hibachi restaurant. Last night when I went I ordered the Shumai (shrimp dumplings,) Philadelphia roll, 2 orders of red snapper, and tako (octopus.) This is definitely a place I will go back to regularly. Cons: Not great quality steak Dinner prices are similar to that of Robokyo without the same quality Pros: Delicious, flavorful food Fun hibachi chefs and attentive wait staff Fresh sushi with a wide variety Charming atmosphere Great lunch prices and nightly specials Excellent for groups

This is a very good Hibachi restaurant, especially for Greensburg. The prices seem pretty typical, with an average dinner ranging between $18 and $25. However, great value can be had for families on Sunday when you can get a $1 kids hibachi for every adult hibachi purchased. On top of this, if you go in for lunch you can get everything you get during the dinner hibachi for around ~$10. Lunch is until $3. My wife and I are vegetarians and love this place. Note for other vegetarians: avoid the soup that comes with the meals, it is made with a meat stock. Also, this is a great place for birthdays, they put on a good show and there are some cool 'extras' they do as well. I won't ruin the surprise, and while its not much it is a nice touch...

I seriously love this place. I am never disappointed when I go here. I try to order new sushi everytime I go and I'm pretty sure I've almost gone through the menu. Love it, Love it , LOVE IT. It's a must try for any sushi lover.

I enjoyed this place. It's a little loud because it was a sports bar at one time. But I sat at the bar, not a usual sushi bar, but the sushi chef was there. It's ok. Would I come back, yeah, cuz it's a 1000% better than that other sushi place across the road.

Sadly, this one star was given simply due to the fact that the food was tasty. I haven't had such a poor dining experience, maybe ever. We were greeted and led to our table, all the while being led through a pile of broken porcelain or glass? which was being swept up near one of the other tables. My party of three arrive about 8:15-8:30PM. The restaurant lists their hours as being open until 10pm, but the staff seemed rushed and pre-occupied during our visit, as though it was closing time. Once we sat down, our server came over for our drink order. After he left, one of our group members received a phone call and sat there quietly carrying on a conversation. The server returned with our drinks and asked if we were ready to order, I looked at my boyfriend (who was still on the call), and let the server know that we would need a few more minutes. At that time, the server said ok, I'll check back and turned to go, I had wanted to ask about an appetizer listed on the menu, and when I went to catch him, he paused and then took off. Seemingly snubbed, we laughed and thought, well, maybe we won't get an appetizer. The server returned a few short minutes later, again asking if we were ready to put our orders in, and this time, I asked about the appetizer and said we still may ned another minute, to which the server stated that if we took too much longer, he was going to have to move us to another table. Confused, I said that we could just order then, and gave him mine, our friend ordered for himself, and my boyfriend paused his conversation to place his, as well. Before he could speak, the server asked if I knew what he was going to order and I said, I think he is ready and can answer that. So, once my boyfriend ordered his steak and chicken, he offered the temp to the server, who interrupted him to state that the cook would ask that once he got there, and asked if he wanted anything else, among other small rude innuendos during our exchanges. Once all the orders were placed and the server returned with our soup and salads, we were served our sushi appetizers by the original server who had sat us. Now upon first arriving, the entire dining room was being closed up and dishes put away, tables cleaned off, and those who were still dining there were few and far between. Our server didn't return, and there was no soy sauce left on our table, so I got up myself and walked across the room to grab a couple of bottles off the tray they were all placed on at another table. At no point did our server, who watched this take place, say a single word or make any attempt to care about our need. Now things like this typically wouldn't be a big deal, but at this point in our visit, I was appalled to have to have done this. Once the cook came out, he spoke and acted as though he were on speed. You could barely hear him over the exhaust and the music playing behind us - which might I add was the.same.song. - on repeat. - the entire time we were there. Consider what listening to the same song on repeat for a little over an hour does to an experience... Anyhow, we were served our meals and once we paid, the server brought our checks back and turned to leave, so we told him to have a nice night, to which he muttered, "you, too" on his way out. We exited and not one person said a word to us as we left. Including the woman standing at the hostess stand near the door. We have been to this establishment before, and had a good experience, so to have this occurrence was a bit off-putting. Hopefully this was a one-time event, but it will be quite some time before we consider going back.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I have had to date. Our group consisted of 5 adults in their early 30's. The chef started off by squirting sake into my cousins mouth, and when he put up his hand signaling "enough", he continued to shoot it all over his shirt, intentionally. The same happened to me. With good management, this problem could have been easily resolved. However, the manager Tom Chen approached out table and defended his waiter, and treated the incident like a joke, instead of taking responsibility. Then, he called the staff together in the back where you we all could see them laughing about the incident. There was no money taken off of the bill, and he said nothing when we were leaving. What is one of the worst things a business can do? Answer: let 5 angry customers walk out the door. Awful.

I absolutely loved this restaurant!!! The ambiance of the place is awesome. I took my two young daughters and they loved it too. The food was delicious! We all had the tempura but can't wait to go again to sit at the hibachi tables and try that out! The staff was very friendly and courteous. I will definitely be visiting again. The only complaint I have is the price. I had a coupon, thank goodness, because it was very expensive.

Horrible!!! I asked for a certain chef because last time it was so good. We didn't get that chef. My chicken tasted awful and was hard. Rice was not good, tasted bland and also the miso soup was off along with the yum yum sauce. When I told my waiter about the chicken, he said he would talk to the manager. They offered only to take $3 off my check for a $26 meal!! The waiter told me he would not take more off due to the fact that we had $1 kids Hibachi on Sunday! Really?!! The manager never made an attempt to come talk to me. I will never eat here again!

Food was pretty good. I got the shrimp tempura appetizer, tuna avocado roll, and salmon roll. The bartender was this super nice and attentive lady. She even hooked me and my friend up with an awesome free dessert! Will go there again for sure!

We were regulars to Robokyo. We tried Edo for the first time. Had sushi and hibachi. We were very impressed with the flavor and freshness of the food. We will definitely go back to Edo! Jackie was an awesome hibachi chef! Very fun!

The atmosphere is great. My friend and I started at the bar before hibachi. The bartender was great and very friendly. All the food came really fast. Didn't have to wait long at all. Overall the experience was great and can't wait to come back!!

The food was ok and the chef very personable and skilled. Disappointed that we went there for lunch on a Sunday expecting to pay the lunch prices. When we received the bill, the cost was more than double, charged at the dinner rate, even though it was at 12:30 pm. They said it was dinner prices all day Sunday, but it does not say that anywhere on their website. Disappointing.

I visited Edo Hibachi back in November, with a few friends. It was a Friday night, and the restaurant was nearly empty. I am a huge fan of Shogun (in Monroeville) and was anticipating a similar experience, but that didn't happen. The food didn't taste nearly as good (the rice was hard and gritty), the sauces weren't very good. Although our sous chef was entertaining, he was too busy flirting with one girl from our group, and when he wasn't doing that, he was attempting to toss food and sake shots in our mouths over and over again. When a few members of the group said that they didn't want to partake in the sake shots, he went ahead and shot it at them anyway. I had sake all over my shirt. I thought that was pretty unprofessional. We have never experienced anything like that at Shogun, and we always have a great time there. Not sure if I will ever return, especially when there are better choices out there.

Worst experience in a long time. They sat us at a table that had already started eating even though we had reservations. Then the waitress walked by is at least 5 times without even trying to take our order. Left without food or drinks. Don't waste your time going here.

Sushi was good, hibachi was what I expect it to be and at a normal hibachi price. They give you a lot of scallops! And if the chef asks saki? Say yes he shoots it in your mouth no homo.

I want to start by saying I usually don't complain. I feel that this place needs some serious constructive criticism so I don't want this to seem as a hate comment. I went here last night to try it out. I have been to so many different hibachi's from all over. This was by far the worst. I'm not a picky person.. but my food was inedible. When I first got there, I asked the waitress simple questions such as how many shrimps do you get in a side of shrimp (It's 6 for 11 dollars by the way, total rip off), she had no idea. I asked her multiple questions and she had to keep going back to ask the manager. A waitress needs to be trained on the menu. It took me 20 minutes to even order. The taste of the dressing and sauces wasn't my favorite, but still tasted good none the less. I ordered chicken and shrimp. My daughter who is one got a child's chicken. My shrimp was over cooked. My steak was not trimmed. I mean at all. I almost had to ask for a knife to cut it out myself (there was ALOT). I tried cutting my daughter up her chicken and it was really hard to. I went to take a bit to see and it was literally rubber.. I could not even chew it. After that, I lost my appetite completely and ended up just taking the rest home to give to the dog. I will say that the waitress and chef were very polite and friendly, which definitely gave the place some pointers. But my waitress was playing with my daughter while I was trying to get her to eat and it totally distracted her. I mean literally played with her for 20 some minutes.. I found that very unprofessional. I know I'm not the only person who feels that this place isn't up to par. Considering There was only one other family there for dinner on a weekend when I first arrived, I knew I was going to have a bad experience just walking in. I normally go to Robokyos. Last night I highly regret not going there since it's right down the road since I usually only treat myself with hibachi every once in awhile because of the price. That being said, I wouldn't waste your time going to a crappy restaurant especially for the price. if you want a place that's going to give you better quality food for a price that's actually worth it, then I would say go to Robokyos or shogun. Two of my favorite that are actually professional hibachi. To the restaurant, if you guys want to get customers.. you need to train your staff better and teach them to be professional and get better quality food if you have any hopes of staying running. I've grown up in the restaurant business, I know a "dead chance restaurant" when i see one. -a very frustrated customer who will not be coming back.
