Went to Michaels Diner Saturday with my friends, we were very impressed with the location and the atmosphere! We started with the Salad bar what was amazing lots of variety all of it fresh! I ordered broiled scallops the plate came with 12 Scallops!!! Only for 15 dollars with side order, Salad bar and soup! The service was amazing and the waitress was so pleasant! When we finished eating the owner came in and asked us how was the service then thanked us for the visit! I definitely recommend this place!!

Went for breakfast on Sunday afternoon. Lobby was very crowded probably with the after church crowd. We were the 4th down on the list and we were seated within 15 minutes. My partner had the eggs Benedict which came out a little messy but they did replace it with a different version it wasn't so sloppy. I had two eggs pancakes and bacon which were really good in the coffee was great. Service was right on point.

McDonald's makes a better breakfast, The village diner in Glenside is just up the street. There prices are comparable but the food is much better,

Went on a Sunday around 12:30 - packed with the after-church crowd. Decided to sit at the counter rather than wait, So glad we did. The waiter was great. For as busy as they were the staff kept their cool and were really on the ball. Cousin had a cheese steak & fries - he said they were both good. I had the Spanish Omelet and really enjoyed it. The home fries could have used a little more browning but were OK. Unsweetened Iced tea was good, but the coffee was great - strong but not bitter. I got cheesecake with cherries to go - kind of disappointing, not real "cheesy" but the generous dollop of cherries helped. On the negative side, the sidewalk is broken and hazardous, I didn't see any Handicapped parking and the counter stool was a little wobbly. We'll be going back - hope that hard-working, humorous waiter is behind the counter!

Went here for the first time with some friends for a midnight meal. The food was subpar - not bad but nothing good about it either. I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato and liked that it came with a side of fries and a few pickle slices. The service, however, was terrible. Our server was very rude throughout our meal. She made it extremely clear that she was annoyed with us (for a reason that I don't even know), and continued to mumble under her breath several times. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Good severs at breakfast, VERY simple menu. The interior decorator need to be shot in the face. Cream chip beef has no favor at all I WAS VERY disappointed!!!!!!!! EVRYTHING else was good.

My bf and I freq here. This place is nice and affordable. It's very easy access to healthy food too. The entrees all comes with salad bar and it has a good variety. Considering the highest price you can get for an entree is less than 20, you get a salad bar, a main dish and a dessert(certain times), this is a good deal. Some of the entrees are not good, I agree with another reviewer about chicken croquettes, don't order it! But the sandwiches are really good. Oh and their breakfast, I love their waffles! It gets super crowded lunch time over the weekend esp Sunday. Servers can be a little busy sometimes but mostly great.

It is as it looks. The food here is REALLY hit or miss, so be careful what you choose. For example the chicken croquettes are disgusting. They look like huge fried turds swimming in a pukey-snot sauce, and they taste horrendous. I mean, REALLY bad, not even tabasco or Sriracha the holy grail of all sauces could redeem that steaming turd of anus. So why the 4 stars? In general, your rule of thumb at Michaels diner is, stay away from platters, head towards sandwiches. They do a surprisingly tasty cheesesteak, their chicken parm sandwich is quite tasty (although their chicken Parm itself is unpleasant, but not inedible). I love their hamburger club as well. Michaels does some great french fries, they're definitely coated with flour and possibly some sort of bread crumbs before being fried, which results in glory. These fries are crispy on the outside, while being pillowy soft on the inside. Michael's is what it is, don't expect the greatest food of your life. They make solid, decent, food, that will satisfy you, and scratch that itch. Don't come here for gastronomic revelation, and stay away from the platters and make your way towards their sandwiches.

Came here when I first moved here because I didn't know where else to go and everywhere here closes so damn early. I will probably only ever come here if I'm drunk or if I want a milkshake in the middle of the night (this is probably the same scenario). My friend had a burger here that was gray once, so that grosses me out. Waitstaff is usually nice/passable, had a guy once that had the deepest radio voice I'd ever heard, so five stars to him.

I've been to this place 2 times thinking I'd give it another shot. The first time was for lunch with my husband. I ordered a soup that was so bad, I couldn't eat it. The rest of the food wasn't memorable either. The 2nd time I went was for a business meeting. I order a fruit cup. I kid you not, it was 3 grapes, a few melon cubes, and a pineapple cube. When the bill came, it was $10!!! For what I thought? Turns out the fruit salad was $9 and it was horrible. Never again despite the fact that I own a house 3 blocks away.

I used to love coming here, especially after hours. The food here is of very poor quality. Everything tastes old. Today I had the roast beef sandwich... It was very salty and was more on the old school cafeteria level, just nasty. I then had ice cream for dessert. It tastes like it's been in the freezer since the beginning of the year. I will not be visiting here anymore, so sad.

I am not new to Michael's but in the past only ate breakfast here. I went for dinner last Saturday night feeling somewhat anxious about how dinner would be. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food. I went for the classic diner meal - roasted turkey with trimmings. It was very good and the salad bar was a nice plus. The best part of the evening was the staff, especially Sue, our waitress. She was was so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. She was great! We had a baby with us and all of the staff were very sweet with her. Would definitely recommend for families.

Bruh...ok so everytime I come here which has been about 3 times so far there is always some drunk guy or hobo in there starting stuff and then they have to call the cops. Its CRAZY. And after stuff like that happens the waiter forgets to come back to our table. Don't get me wrong though because they seem like nice people sometimes. The food is honestly mediocre, their milshakes are pretty good but the last time I came I ordered cheesecake and it had egg shells in it so not that great. Also there was another time when there was a tiny bug crawling around on the table. It was do big deal to kill it but I don't think its good for a restaurant. I also think they need to clean their grill and pots and pans more because when I got shrimp or french toast I could taste whatever they cooked before that and it kinda sucked so I spit it out. It was really freaking upsetting though because it looked pretty awesome until I put it in my mouth of course. I don't really like going here lol.

Great, reliable diner. You don't come here to get gourmet or unusual ethnic food. This is the place for your all American, filling, weekend morning, greasy spoon, diner food. Pancakes and French toast are awesome. Nice thick pancakes. Service is generally good. Fries are crispy on outside, chewy inside. Coffee is average to good. If you haven't had your salt and fat allotment for the week and are going for true diner cuisine, this is it.

My mom just said that was the best tuna sandwich she's ever had! And at 87, she's had a lot of them :)

Was here over the weekend with friends, Love it, because it is open 24 hours, very convenient. Their burgers are amazing, the fries are stupendous, and the wings are pretty decent. Remembering that this is a diner, and the area that it is located in, you can't expect top notch service, but it's passable. The prices are also fair, if only they would open one closer to where I live.

Sorry hate to say it but this place is no good! Got food poisoning! Thought I would be safe ordering the french toast with country sausage but nope!

Hellfire from Sodom and Gomorrah is befitting for this awful excuse of a diner. Horrible food. Overpriced. Stay away. It will bring your standard of food lower and lower. Even their coffee is horrible.

It'll b my last time eating here the waitress gave me a dirty glass of soda and gave a new glass and charge me anyway what kind of bullshit is that ? The pancakes weren't filling least I enjoy tiny friend's company

I have been eating at this location since it was called Bob's Big Boy. Even though I am not that old. Lol their hamburger platter is so very good. As noted by other reviewers, i too have ordered platters and was thoroughly disgusted. It is definitely my go to place for a burger and the fries are delicious. Last nite I ordered and picked up my burger platter around 10:15 pm. I paid with a twenty dollAr bill. I received a ten dollar bill, a one dollar bill and some loose change. When I tried to pay for an item today at another establishment using the ten dollar bill that I got from Michael's last nite. I was told that the ten dollar bill is a counterfeit. I called Michael's today spoke with the manager saying that I want to come in to discuss a problem. I went there explained the problem requesting to be issued a real ten dollar bill as I wanted to return the counterfeit bill. She called the owner and i was told that there was nothing that they could do. I told her to tell the owner that I am filing a police report and that I will go online to expose them. I reported the incident to Cheltenham police and surrendered the counterfeit bill. I would have expected that they would have given me ten dollars to keep a customer I go there at least four times a month and they know my face. The police helped me to see it from a couple of different perspectives. One that stood out the most is that someone could have tipped the waitress with the counterfeit Who knows for sure the person that gave it to me according to the manager went to Egypt this morning. I am so disgusted with them over a ten dollar bill.

2 or 3. I will be generous and give them 3 stars, as my little girl really enjoyed her short-stack of chocolate chip pancakes. This is diner food - but alas, not at its finest. My husband ordered a Chicken wrap with Ranch dressing and they got it wrong and gave him a Buffalo Chicken ranch with Blue cheese dressing, which he does not like. The server was pleasant enough and the man (owner??) at the cashier desk was lovely, too, but the food just isn't that great. They have an "odd" salad bar with some interesting looking prepared salads on it. The french onion soup was good - but a bit on the salty side - and they used packaged coutons in it, not a bread "crouton". We were in a jam and needed to eat - so this served the purpose, but I would not rush back here.

I've been wanting to try this place. It's right across Arcadia University and right off PA309. Service started off being really slow. No drinks, water or waiter. Menu is typical for a diner: lots of choices. The salad bar was good and a decent selection. The waiter problem apparently was a result of miscommunication. Clam chowder was good. Had the fried shrimp and scallops with generous portions. The scallops didn't have much flavor which is okay, the natural sweet flavor was able to come out. I didn't care for the shrimp. French fries is the kind with a batter coating. The meatloaf was okay, mashed potatoes were good. Had to try the desserts. Either there's a problem with the refrig they have them kept or they don't sell much desserts. The exposed sides were dried out for both the lemon meringue and light side of the moon. Both desserts were great, just the freshness problem.

I'm giving it 4 stars because it's a diner; you come here to because it's open 24hrs, you're supporting a local business, & you're NOT expecting them to wow you away with the complexities of their food. You shouldn't expect more than what a place expects out of themselves. Michael's expects to serve its regulars, stick to the basics, & not try to impress anybody. I do admit that a few years back the food was not so good. However with new management, I've noticed the place is cleaner, the service is better & the food gets better every time I go. Breakfast is hands-down the best meal to go to Michael's for (I love their omelettes (spinach & feta with egg-whites) & their pancakes are so fluffy & yummy!) The reason I keep coming back is because it's a local business that I like to support, it's not expensive at all to get a decent meal & it's a great atmosphere if you're not concerned with out-dated appearances. Just a joe-schmoe diner.

Well, it is a diner and the food is just not that good. It is cheap, and I have only been there for breakfast on numerous occasions. Anytime I go there my stomach turns over. You just never know that your food is going to be average or not. The only reason I go there is to meet a friend who likes the place for some reason. I suggest not eating bacon. I've had some served that smelled funky and was cold there.

DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!! Can't tell you how the food is. Why, you ask? Because the waitress argued with me before I could place my order. Wanted onion rings in place of fries. She went all the way in to tell me they don't substitute. I said that's fine just bring the onion rings and not the fries. She went further in to tell me they will not substitute. I told her I understood and will pay the additional price for the onion rings, I just don't want the fries. She went in yet again! So I said, "That's fine, I'll go somewhere else." SMH

Avoid this place. The food is meh at best. The service is usually grumpy. And the decor is dingy. After leaving disappointed multiple times I won't go back. It's hard to fail with a diner especially in the Glenside area where they're few and far between for some reason. Michael's fails.

  • Sonia C.

Can't complain since this is the only place in Glenside that's open 24 hours. For late night studying this is where I go and I usually get their buffalo wings (sauce on the side). Other than that I have only tried their breakfasts--if you order before 11 it's quite a steal. Service is pretty good, they know when to refill your coffee.

Been here couple times, went with good friend of mine, stopped here, while running errands. It's got neon sign, the place is OK, the service average, food -Ehh-average, nothing spectacular, near B.K.A. Beaver College, now Arcadia..its not the best..but not too much in that area. I got breakfast..alright.

i stopped in for Lunch. Nothing like a diner that serves mostly frozen food. I'm a sucker for good old fashioned diner food, so i ordered the chicken croquettes. I grew up eating them and they remind me of back in the day. Well, they were not good. You can tell they were bought frozen from the frozen diner food supplier. Mashed potatoes were definitely instant and no flavor and the gravy was right out of the can. They did have collard greens that were blah as well. Cut the fricking big ass stems out of them like grandma used to. Oh well, should have went to a fast food joint.

I love this diner. It is open 24 hours and for those of us that are occasionally nocturnal it is awesome to be able to find someplace to get super cheap coffee or eats at any hour. The staff is always sweet too. Food is hit or miss but mostly good and for the price I have no complaints.

From a former Arcadia student's point of view, Michael's is the epitome of convenience, seeing that it is right across the street from campus. It's great if you want a place that serves breakfast all day or just want to go and get a milkshake or a piece of pie late at night between studying and doing homework. They also have a full salad bar, a variety of desserts, and a take-out option.

this used to be my favorite place for dinner. Last time of our visit , salad bar is short of food. the guy waiter was chatting. service was bad. my food was greasy. Other customers are complainging about other stuff . It was stressful dinner. I had to find another diner.

I go to school nearby so I've been there many times at 3 am. Their omelettes are great, decent wraps and sandwiches for a diner. I am a french fry lover, and if I could eat their French fries for the rest of my life, I would until I died of heart disease. The fries are crunchy, golden brown, not too potato-ey with a light flour coating. The service is usually semi slow, but I'm usually not in a hurry when I'm there. The waitstaff is usually kind and personable. The place is usually deserted from about 2pm to 5 pm and then from 5am to 7am. Kind of a little outdated hole in the wall, but nice.

Been coming to this diner for the past 5 years and I usually always go away happy. Just this past week I had my typical breakfast at 3PM and got a really nice short stack of pancakes, some scrapple and some home fries. Everything cooked well as usual and the waitress staff was VERY cordial. I will say, the service was slightly slow, but overall it's usually a great experience when I visit and definitely my go to diner whenever I'm in the area. I also ordered a slice of the Baclava (did I spell that right? and it was awesome! Definitely have some unique desserts here! Next time I'll try some of the sandwich's and see how we do with that! Breakfast is pretty much right on target though!

It's diner food. Not good, not bad - just food. The same can be said for the service... It ain't great but it exists. Don't have huge expectations.

We normally hit up Andy's for off-hours dining, but decided to check this place out for a bit of variety. I just had a grilled cheese sandwich, nothing special, but I was in love with the fries they came with. The boyfriend had French toast but didn't share, which is usually a good sign. Our server was bubbly and attentive and did a great job with refills. So it's a little tacky and outdated (the tableside juke boxes all have handwritten signs in poor English that say something like "use at your own risk"), but the prices are reasonable and it's open 24 hours, so I'm willing to cut them some slack.

My boyfriend and I have eaten here many times for breakfast, great homefries and coffee. Good service, good prices for a filling breakfast.
