Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

This is a great place to take the kids. Service was a bit slow today though.

I don't know what reviewer A L.'s problem was and the fact she assumed about not being properly served because she's in an interracial relationship? Just for the record: I'm WHITE with an ASIAN spouse and we were both treated properly at this establishment by a BLACK server. Race has NOTHING to do with service from this place. The regular food is ok, but there are better places to dine. Friendly's ice cream is awesome- go there for the dessert. I usually go there or Bruster's down on 116 whenever I visit my parents. I went tonight to support a neighbor's HS soccer team and have no complaints about the service. So no, it has nothing to do with race or if you are in an interracial relationship. Just sayin'!

I have to admit, this review is only for their milkshakes. I normally get peanut butter cup but the last time we had to go with the cookies and cream. The finacee is from the West Coast and had never heard of Friendly's before. She's only beeen to 2 locations in her life and they are both this one. Gettysburg is on the way up to the parents' place and this always makes for a nice stop, particularly when the entire town is dressed up in period costumes for the Civil War 150th anniversary.

The new look to Friendly's is great. The kids love this place and the food quality is no different than what one would expect from a chain of this type. The kids menu has a wide variety of options and comes with drink and dessert. We enjoy the nights when we catch the balloon-animal family at work. Service has improved from the past when it could sometimes take an inordinate amount of time to get your meal.

Depressing how close this is to where Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address. Depressing how anyone but an 8 year old can enjoy the food at this place. Good for families, I guess. The kiddies will love the food. Adults with palates should just order the ice cream.

This place is a local hangout. Food was ok but this place is better known for its ice cream desserts. This place is ok.

There was a Friendly's near my high school growing up in NJ, so the chain always has a fond place in my heart. With this childhood image implanted in my brain, I think Friendly's is the best restaurant chain ever in the world. Kids' menu is very creatively arranged with mix and match alternatives to french fries including broccoli and apple sauce. Kraft mac and cheese was one of the entree choices and was a big hit. Each kids meal comes with a drink and a small sundae...an even bigger hit. Adult choices were a decent combination of burgers, fried fish, hot dogs, clam chowder, salads and some sandwiches. Senior specials were reasonably priced and also included a sundae. Place was neat and clean. Staff was courteous and accommodating.

I can't speak to the food here at this location, although I've always been a fan of the excellent value that is offered especially for kids. But this location is special because of their commitment to customer service. This morning I lost something that was important to me and they were able to retrieve it. Getting it back really made me feel a lot better so I want to commend the good folks at this Friendly's location.

Do any of the following apply to you: Not a vegan? Have no idea what a "foodie" is? Don't worry about reading nutrition labels? Could care less about of the cleanliness of your dining environment? If this speaks to you then coming to Friendly's in general is a great idea and this location is perfect because they don't care about any of that stuff either. More or less everything on the menu is in some capacity fried, cheesed, batter dipped or over sauced/mayoed to kingdom come. It also needs to be mentioned that things are easily a good 20% overpriced which is why it's idiotic to ever eat at any location without some type of kids eat free-15% off-20% off-$3 off of $15 spent coupon, etc. We rolled in on a Sunday afternoon last month and the place was packed. There was a small group waiting to be seated but every usable seat was taken. Notice how I said useable seat. That would be because around ¼ of the tables were left dirty as the place was badly understaffed in terms of servers and those same servers I guess were also expected to bus their own tables/vacuum the floors in their spare time. Forget South Carolina, it looked like Sherman and his men had sacked part of the dining room. After finally ordering, the food took over thirty minutes until everything was finally rendered which is ridiculous as nothing here is exactly Michelin Star quality in terms of flavor or in terms of complexity. Our server was nice and she was highly apologetic but she looked something like Scooby Doo from the original cartoon where his tail was tied together yet he was trying to go four directions at the same time as she tried to cover all her tables which were spread out over a large area not to mention trying to clear empty tables and push vacuum the floor. On a sidebar, the food was the typical least common denominator stuff that you would expect here so no stars added or deducted in this area but either way the wait was way too long and between being understaffed and dirty it equals a no-go for us in the future.

This definitely an east coast place. We decided to come to this place after adventuring the sacred Gettysburg. To re-live/learn our US history. There wasn't much choices to dine at in Gettysburg. This place is open late. Fair-cheap priced food items. I ordered chicken salad. It was decent. A good portion. Then ordered a 3 scoop sundae, which was refreshing and cheap! My favorite part of the meal! 3 stars for the friendly service and being open late.

This place has zero care for race, ethnicity, or members of LGBT Soldiers. I was out right disrespected by the manager and staff here. The ticket time was 90 mins. Then they charge half my troops for their food. This place needs a new staff immediately. Soldiers that have served their country didn't get the respect that was deserved let alone the regulate patrons. Horrible service!

  • Irene C.

Sort of a disappointment. The service was fine. I came here for breakfast with my mom and dad who are visiting from out of town and we are touring the Gettysburg area. We ordered the Big Two breakfast and let me tell you... That was barely one egg (and it was listed as extra large eggs). The two strips of bacon were thin and tiny. The breakfast potatoes are delicious but they give you such a small portion for $2.79, you could fit the potatoes on a coaster. The music sucks and it's loud when you are trying to wake up. It's a family restaurant... Why blast party music at 9:00 am?

    (2)
  • Marissa K.

The food was okay, nothing special. It wasn't busy at all, only a few tables here and there but we got stuck in the alcove with a large group of teens. The noise was so bad, due to the acoustics in that little area, that we got the rest of our meal to go. Our waitress was nice, but usually on the other side of the restaurant where other tables were. We were the only ones placed by the loud party and it was probably due to the fact we had a wheelchair. Because of that I won't go back here.

  • Chuck C.

Rarely have breakfast out. Places like Friendly are why. Omelet was bland. Cheap Sausage used. Potato was not good. Toast was simply the cheapest bread that could be found and was half buttered. The only thing this meal was good for was management. Serving $4 worth of food for close to $20. Save your money.

Took a trip to Gettysburg from NYC, and found this GEM right in the middle of the civil war battle fields! Friendly staff and great quality fresh local breakfast food. Seems like a stretch for a food chain, but no diner in NYC can compare. Very satisfied!

Decent food, Friendly staff (ha!) but SLOW. We have eaten at this Friendlys before, as it is half way between us and my family, so a good place to meet for a meal in one of our favorite towns. We never had problems before but we went in yesterday and the service was ridiculously slow. We did have a large party (10) but the place was only half full, so there is no way it should have taken 2.5 hours to get out of there. Even for a party of 10, two and a half hours is ridiculous. So here's my thought...if you are not in a hurry this place is fine. Decent food (or what you would expect anyhow), nice people, including the manager, but if you are looking for a place to eat between tourist attractions and don't want to be forever, you might want to find another place. Ps: if you have kids, go on Thursday night...the balloon blower is AMAZING.

Great service, the waiter helped navigate us around Gettysburg. The food was really good. I ordered a cup of chicken noodle, and the waiter accidentally brought me a bowl and told me my cup became a bowl and I wouldn't be charged extra. All of us had ice cream after, the main reason for going here. I was introduced to Friendly's when I was in Myrtle Beach and have loved it ever since. They even had a "happy ending sundae." I refused to be that asian cliche by ordering it. :) Not far from the National Military Museum and Park.

Came here for a third time ok food crappie service. Other servers are nice but this girl name kayle was awful. She wasn't nice, seemed to have attitued and never checked on us but once. The last couple of times we have had servers who didn't want to do there job. This time were talking to the manger.

9/2/2013 The decor is diner, 50's or 60's. Many kids, families, old people, teens, local and tourist, The food is basic and decent. The price is good. The service was friendly, a bit slow, but adequate. We didn't have any of the ice cream that Friendly's is known for. The fish and chips I had were good, but nothing special. I could have used a drink refill, but it wasn't until near the end of the meal that I was offered one.

I would give them no stars if I could. We came to eat here after a long day and our waitress took out drink orders. 10 minutes later we finally got our drinks (water and ice tea) and she took our orders. For the next 40 minutes no one brought us food, our waitress did not check on us (40 minutes!!!), and even went as far as to avoid our table and eye contact when we tried to ask her what was holding up our food. We are a really friendly family so this was kind of ridiculous. As mentioned we were tired, so we waited awhile with no complaints, but after her looking at us and walking away when we called her the third time, we got up ready to leave. She tried to blame the kitchen and the busy night (only half the restaurant was full) but the fact is she avoided us purposely for 40 minutes, didn't check drinks, anything... I would have respected it more had she come and said there was a problem.

During my stay in Gettysburg with the East Coast discovery crew, we ate on our own a lot. My friends and I decided to come here because of the cute name, and they sold ice cream. Yum! They even had WATERMELON SHAPED ICE CREAM here...how cool is that? We ate some meal stuff first though. They had a special that day, cheeseburger sandwiches. So they take burger and slap it between two pieces of bread. Between the bread, there was also lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, and bacon. I'm personally not a fan of burgers, atleast not a big one. At the same time, these sounded really tasty, and all my other friends were ordering it. The cheeseburger sandwiches were alright, burger was kind of dry. I didn't like the bacon, too salty, too crunchy...to icky. The bread was overly buttered, and the vegetables weren't fresh. Sigh. Their one saving grace is ICE CREAM. I ordered a scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was a magnificent sea foam green color. If I were to come back here...I'd only get the ice cream. The mint cookie crunch sundae, strawberry shortcake sundae, mint chocolate chip lava cake sundae, mocha java lava cake sundae...sweet heaven!

A very good family restaurant. The food is well prepared and tasty. The staff is friendly and make you feel at home, even when you are a tourist, like my daughter and I were. It was so good that we returned there for lunch 3 of the 5 days we were in Gettysburg on our vacation. The portions were just big enough to fill you. We wish we had one out here in the Phoenix, Arizona area.

I cannot rate the food, only the customer service. We arrived at about 11:20 on a Monday morning, and it was nearly empty. There was one table occupied, so we knew they were open for service. Two workers were cleaning up one table when we walked in, looked up at us and resumed cleaning the table and chatting with each other. I walked over to them to ask if they were open. One of the young women answered, "Oh sorry, we thought you were staff." Huh? They'd never seen us before and thought we were their coworkers standing by the door with our coats on? After we were seated the server gave us the menus and walked away. She didn't ask if we wanted anything to drink. Sensing that this experience would have been too frustrating, we left. Perhaps our being a mixed-race couple (I'm Asian, he's white) had something to do with not receiving any service, but we didn't even want to stick around to contemplate that matter.
