We've been to this place 4 times now, & we like it better every time! We're from Washington & come up to PA on the weekends. The food here is as good as you'll get in the best Italian restaurants in DC--at half the price! Our favorites are the penne arrosto--fabulous! The cannelloni is first rate as well. Fried calamari as an appetizer is excellent, too, as are the veal Parmesan & tortellini & spaghetti with sausage & peppers. Some might see the fact that they don't serve alcohol as a minus. But we've been taking our own bottle of wine & that's worked out fine. It also reduces the bill. Giacomo's is terrific!

Just finished a truly great Italian meal at Giacomo's. Everything was homemade by the Italian cook and owner, Giacomo, who is there almost every day of the week. He is such a talented chef. This restaurant offers a little bit of Italy hidden in a small building on Mont Alto Road in Fayetteville, Pa. I had bruschetta (that is always the best I have ever eaten), and hand made Italian meat balls baked in homemade marinara sauce topped with melted Parmesan and mozzarella cheese. Finally, homemade warm crusty Italian bread and butter was served by the charming waitress, Shelly, (also an owner and Giacomo's wife) was served with a delicious caprese salad. Wow! My taste buds were happy today! You must stop by and give it a try. There are fresh new specials on the board each day. You won't be disappointed!

This is the best Italian Restaurant between (or even in) Chambersburg and Gettysburg. My wife and I drive here from Gettysburg every week or so for the sole purpose of enjoying the great Italian food. The owner (Jack) has worked hard to update the decor and menu of his restaurant to make it much more than a Pizza Place. The Pizza and sandwiches are excellent.....and the Italian dinners are some of the best, if not the best, I've eaten anywhere. Try it.....you won't be disappointed!

Love, love, love this place. The cheesesteak is well seasoned, and prepared correctly with meat bursting out of the delicious homemade sub roll. My friend had the baked ziti which she swears is the best ever. It was certainly huge, and pretty! The pizza is made from European type flour and is loaded with toppings. This was a first trip, and we'll be back for more. The decor could use a bit more design, but the service was lovely and the food well above par for Chambersburg Italian. We were also fans of the Italian pop music playing in the background. Nice touch!

What a heavenly culinary experience in a most unexpected location. Our special Easter dinner was a REAL Italian delight. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection so they melted in your mouth and the amazing Bolognese Ragu was rich and loaded with layers of fresh ingredients that came together perfectly. Thank you for taking me back to my Mamma's kitchen! True Sicilian cuisine !!!!

Unbelievable little gem -- stopped for lunch based on other reviews and was not disappointed. Recommend the paninis but they are large enough to share. We'll be back!

Everyone seemed friendly enough. No one there when we were. As for the food nothing seemed homemade. Fries were good but I believe them to ore-Ida. The burger patty was frozen. Was just passing through and was starving. Would like to see if the cook can cook or just heats up frozen stuff' we didn't try the pizza but they had a few calls for delivery while we were there

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
