Peppino’s Italian Chop House Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

We walked in to Peppino's ready to spend a great deal on drinks, appitizers, and meals. We called ahead with 4 people, yet when we arrived the general manager/owner told us "even though we don't look busy, we're short staffed and you're not going to get good service". We told him we would still sit at the bar and wait, yet again he repeated "we would not get good service". We expected to at least be sat and offered complimentary drinks while waiting, yet it seemed like the manager adaminttently did not want us there. After feeling uncomfortable and like we were expected to leave, we took our party and walked out. Several of us have worked in the restaurant industry and we all agreed that was the most inappropriate way to handle the matter. We would have offered the guests to sit at the bar with a complimentary drink, and appitizers, as it is better lose money on the meal, than service for life.

Pepino' nice a nice fine dining option in Fairview. It is a small quaint place with a warm cozy feeling to it. There is a nice bar to have a cocktail or after dinner drink. The menu offers authentic Italian dishes. We opted for the angel hair pasta with red sauce. They have a decent wine menu. We spilt a Tiramisu, which was excellent.

Went here for my first time last night for dinner. Loved the atmosphere and especially the food. Many different Italian dishes to try so I must go back! Wonderful and quick service. Food was all good and at perfect temperature when served. Can't wait to go back again!

This was THE worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. The Sea Bass entree was mushy as was the risotto. The Ahi Tuna entree was solo fishy tasting that I couldn't put it past my nose. We told the owner, Mr. Colao, that our food was not edible and he said he would call the state police unless we paid our bill even though we couldn't eat it. Please do not eat here! it's the worst restaurant experience of our lives. I felt bad for the server.

Awful experience with owner. Never coming back. I passed by this Restuarant on my way through town. Wasn't a fan of the decor or the vibe of the place from the get go. I would recommend going anywhere else but here.

I was here when I was in town for a private party which was held upstairs. I was very surprised there was no hand rail. Isn't this a building code violation? There was one baby at the party and they could not provide a high chair. Yes, it's a "fancy" restaurant, but sometimes parents DO take their children to "fancy" restaurants! The food was delicious .

This is hands down one of the best Italian meals I've had in quite some time. We came here on a Friday night with a reservation - which I would highly recommend as they seem to get a pretty good weekend crowd. Our table wasn't quite ready so we enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar while we waited. The atmosphere is dim and cozy - very old world Italian with an upscale, modern twist. Excellent wine list that won't break the bank. We shared a dozen oysters Rockefeller which were perfectly executed. The lobster bisque was by far the best I've ever had. Everyone enjoyed their meals here. The pesce & carne (scallops & filet) came with a perfect risotto. I enjoyed a traditional sausage bolognese. Portions were generous which justified the slightly higher price point. Unbelievable tiramisu gelato and a chocolate lava cake rounded out our dinner experience and sent us into a food coma. The service was phenomenal. Our waitress Kellie knew the menu inside and out and was so friendly. We even got to share a glass of wine with the owner, Joe Colao. He has certainly set the bar for Italian food in Erie high and deserves all of the success he gets. Do not miss Peppino's.

Parking was tricky (not much room on a Saturday night). We had a reservation for 8pm, but we showed up 10 min late (whoops). So, they directed us to the bar to wait for the next available table. Loved the ambiance here. It's dim and cozy. The bar area was quiet and there were only 2 other couples seated at it. While we waited, the bartender whipped us up some very yummy martinis. Just as we finished them & first glanced at the clock, we were seated. We were well tended to from the moment we stepped in the door. Our food was excellent and the dishes were presented nicely also. We had the bruscetta appetizer. The tomatoes were ripe, fresh and piled high. I can't remember the exact names of our dishes, but they were both absolutely excellent: I had a pasta-alfredo style dish with veal, presuto and various finely chopped veggies in a thick garlicky cream sauce. My date had a pasta dish with seafood and red sauce. Our dinners were very heavy. Both of us were stuffed after eating 1/3 of our dinners. As we looked around, it seems like that's often the case. There were pretty little black take out boxes in the hands of most of the people leaving. (But trust me, it's just as good for lunch the next day... In fact, I had enough to make 2 more meals out of my leftovers) So, for all of the things above: Food, decor, service - I give this place an A+. but... I couldn't hear my date at all once we got to the table :( It's not like there was a rowdy table nearby, it just seemed like a combination of bad acoustics and a table that is extra large. The extra large tables are justified once they start bringing out their large dishes, but we had to elevate our voices and that makes Peppinos atmosphere more like the Olive Garden (noise-wise). I'd certainly return for the food. The food is pricey, but it really is exceptional. I'd go with friends & family, but based on this experience I wouldn't go here for a romantic occasion... unless you both know sign-language.

Love the dim, romantic lighting. Our waitress was wonderful, very knowledgable and attentive, but not annoying. I ordered one of the featured items: filet, scallops, and asparagus/prosciutto risotto. The scallops were perfection! The risotto was delicious! The steak was medium as I asked for, but charred and bitter on the outside- the worst I've ever ordered. We both added a house salad, which was yummy and generous. As well as a nice red Zinfandel, which complimented our meals well. If it weren't for the disappointing steak I would have given Peppino's a 5 star rating. Nice place for a special occasion ($$$).

The food and atmosphere are both superb. It's in the upper-tier as far as prices go for the Erie area, but the high quality of the food, the intimate atmosphere, the coziness, and the delicious specials make it worth it. If you're on a budget, this will probably only be a "once in a while" kind of restaurant, but make sure to stop at least once if you are in the area.

the food was wonderful, the decor was nice, the air conditioning was non existent! Several request to adjust the temperature cooler went unanswered by the management/chef/owner. Our Waitress was putting in our requests for adjusting the ac and management never did it or even come over and explain if they were having some kind of ac problems. Unfortunately for Peppino's in Erie/Fairview they have a bunch of big mouths like me and my friends who are going to tell everyone about the situation. My advice, wait until winter to try this place, but then again they probably don't want to run the heat too much either. . . Peppino's management needs to respond to the customers on the spot!

We really enjoyed the food, ambiance, service, and hospitality of the whole staff! I am originally from Erie and come back to see family a few times a year. This is one of the best meals that I've ever had here! We've lived in DC, NYC, and San Francisco... We felt the quality of the meal was right up there with the big cities. Our group loved the fried cheese wheel, the salads, and pastas (I loved the pasta all'Amatriciana.). My husband said he thought the food was 'authentic' Italian. The wine and beer list were good as well. The owner came and greeted us at the end of the meal which was very cool. Not sure if he does it for everyone but he sent a dessert drink over for the table as well. It was a nice surprise. We'll definitely return!

We were in town visiting for Chirstmas and we met up with friends for dinner here. First rate and attentive service. The food was fabulous. My husband ordered a filet with a pepper, mushroom, chopped clams sauce. It was the best at the table. I had a filet with two giant scallops, my friend had the chicken with shittake mushrooms and my parents had steaks. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the waitresses' recommendation on a closeout wine was spot on. We also enjoyed the nutello creme brulee dessert.

The atmosphere is nice, the wait staff is attentive, but the food is not good. For the prices of their meals I expected to be completely satisfied. Instead my medium-rare filet request was well done, the veal came out different than described...Peppino's isn't worth the money. If you end up going then I suggest sticking to pasta dishes since those are hard to mess up.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
