Everytime I go to Buddys, I come out happy. I like that each month they have a new special burger. Most of the other higher end burger places don't have anything out of the ordinary. Having the burger of the month and the possibility of salad or a nice chicken sandwich separates it from the others. I also like that each week there are specials like dollar dog day, little buddy specials, etc. Fun atmosphere and always good service from the accomodating staff. I make it a regular stop for lunch whenever I am in the area.

I want to make it clear this place is not a typical fast food spot, it is on the same category of a 5 Guys. Let's call these places, good food fast. You might say "I love 5 Guy's, nothing can beat 5 Guy's." I would respond by saying this place is definitely above 5 Guy's. There are several reasons. The burgers are very similar, however these are just a tad better. The vegetables and toppings they use are not out of a jar that I can tell, they are actually fresh - which makes a world of difference. Secondly they have cheese fries - eat that 5 Guys! I mean come on, if I am going to a burger joint,, I better be able to have a 2000 calorie meal if I choose. They also have various options, like sweet potato fries, and various toppings like chili and gravy - yeah gravy, and I am still just talking about the fries! Actually the first time I experienced this place I got gravy cheese fries and holy hell, I must have blacked out during my meal because I swear I saw Jesus. If you are thinking, "okay so you are judging a place on the fries?!?" No I am not, another key staple to a burger joint is milk shakes, and they got 'em! Remember this place is a burger joint, somewhere you can go grab a quick meal that is made to order. So if all you know is 5 Guy's, then you are doing yourself a disservice.

Awesome burgers and atmosphere. Better and cheaper than 5 guys! More options and delicious burgers and fries.

Let me start by saying the burgers are second to the fries. Those fries (regular and sweet potato) are AWESOME. They changed my mind about what fries should taste like. Burgers are good, but are a little on the greasy side. You can customize the burgers any way you want. I really have to be in the mood to go there because of the parking issue. I'll be back to review the chicken!

We also saw this in the Clipper magazine and decided to give it a try. First of all, any place that has sweet potato fries gets a big gold star from me. We tried the French Onion Burger, chock full of fried onions, mushrooms, swiss and garlic mayo and the A-Bomb, a spicy blend of peppers, hot sauce and pepper jack cheese. Both were delicious. Even the kids liked their meals (chicken fingers and a hot dog). If you are good with a "Five Guys" vibe, this is a great place.

I lost $100 bill in this place... I either dropped it here or accidentally gave it to the cashier since it was a crisp bill- it could've been stuck to it. Either way it was definitely stolen in this place! And that means either shady staff... Or shady customers. Which is sad considering it is a family place. The tapes are under review but I would not recommend going here if you would want to be around honest and good people if something were to happen

I found a coupon in the Clipper for this place and had no food lying around the house on Friday night, so ... well you can guess the rest. I ordered a Soprano burger and what is essentially chili cheese fries. I am not a big boardwalk fries kind of girl, but these were really delicious. They had large grains of salt on them and were fried nicely. In the takeout order, they give you two little plastic containers - one of the white cheese sauce and one of the chili. The cheese sauce was very thick. I feared that it would be more like cheese whiz, but it was not, more like melted cheese. The chili was a bit spicy; I'm a big spice wuss. But the flavors were delicious. The burger was also very good. It was loaded with stuff. Perhaps a bit too much mayo, but it was delicious. The paper bag that everything came in had tons of grease spots over it - the mark of good food. hahaha

so five guys for me would get 4 stars, and this gets 3. why? it's basically five guys with smaller portions. prices are about the same. i got a large order of fries and a burger for like $11 something. at five guys it would be about that as well, but i would get more fries that i can even ask for, and probably not even finish them. here, a large order looked like just a couple average handfuls. good fries though :) burger was also pretty good, but once again, smaller than five guys. one thing i think they do better though, is their bun. it's fluffy and has sesame seeds, it's really good. also, they have milkshakes! didn't try one, but they sound good. (kinda pricey yet again though =/ ) good options, and it's cool that they list some specialty burgers so you don't have to think about which toppings go good together. it's also pretty cool that they have a "challenge" burger with like 16 patties or something. man vs food nation???? lol good place if you're craving a burger and good fries, but not the place to go if you wanna get the most bang for your buck.

What a fantastic new menu. If you have not been there for a couple months it is worth the trip.

As a vegetarian, Buddy's Burgers, Breasts and Fries should be a no-fly zone. I don't get down with beef, turkey or chicken so why would I ever go to a place that advertises those items right in the name? I'll tell you why, gentle reader. It's because Buddy's is the home of the greatest grilled cheese sandwich I have ever eaten. I'm not talking about your mama's grilled cheese made with schoolbus-yellow squares of plastic and served alongside a cup of Campbell's tomato soup. I'm talking cheese and a multitude of fresh toppings smacked down on thick slices of Texas Toast and grilled to oozy perfection. I'm talking a sandwich that inspired me to make noises while I ate it -- "Mmmmm" "Nommmm" "Yummm" I'm talking a little bit of redemption and salvation in a cold, cruel world...in the best form possible - a sandwich. Order your sandwich (burger, chicken, grilled cheese) and top it with your choice of free toppings from their extensive selection. They feature traditional toppings like lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions and more exotic ones such as garlic spinach, sauteed mushrooms, avocado and sriracha. Their fries are equally sublime. Fresh-cut and fried in peanut oil, this generously portioned side (I couldn't finish a small) comes in two varieties - potato and sweet potato with three different flavors: regular (for all you purists out there), cajun (sweet and spicy) and Old Bay Parm (or the flavor of happiness). Service is efficient and genuinely friendly as opposed to the creepy Stepford Automaton vibe you get at some fast-food joints and the open kitchen plan allows you to see your meal prepared right in front of you. Money can't buy happiness but $10 at Buddy's gets you pretty close. So, forget the other Guys and go see your Buddy. You won't regret it. Added bonus: Check in on Yelp and get a 10% discount! Can't beat that with a stick,

Good Fries! Had the grilled chicken sandwich which was fresh and tasty. Enjoyed picking my toppings for it. I would say it is in line with Five Guys or Jake's. Overall a nice meal. Staff was friendly and efficient.

French Onion Burger.... oh my goodness. Genuinely delightful. Whenever Josh is craving a burger I definitely do not complain because I know he will suggest Buddy's Burgers Breasts and Fries. This place marries the most delicious flavors and puts them on an all american hamburger - chicken sandwich - hot dog and french fries.... onion rings... milkshakes... all awesome.

Fresh buffalo chicken salad was very good. Dirty style fries were yummy. My wife liked her plain burger, plus she got her cherry coke! If you like Jake's or Five guys, you'll like Buddy's.

Burgers are better than Five Guys and Wayback in my opinion. Great sides and shakes as well.

Love this place. Affordable and delicious! I love their steakhouse burger and the sweet potato fries. The people who work here are swell as well. Delivery is an option too!

I am furious with this awful place. Went on a Monday night. We took our three kids (8, 6 and 3). They ordered the kid's chicken fingers baskets. I ordered a burger and fries. My fries were literally cool to the touch, but I decided to let it go. But the chicken fingers were shriveled little strips of chicken coated in BLACK, sparce, breading (I've uploaded a picture). When I asked for a switch the cashier refused. He said, "That's what you ordered. That's what you get". When I asked for a manger he said there IS NO manager. What?! So I asked for the owner's contact info. When we sat down the TV was tuned to the Sci-Fi channel and a movie was playing in which an old woman in a wheel chair was being burned to death in flames. My husband asked the workers to please change the channel or turn off the TV by us to which he explained that NOBODY who works here knows how to change the channels on the TVs. Besides poor food quality I have never experienced more incompetent or rude workers in my life. I will never be back to this cheap copy of "5 Guys".

I finally found my way to Buddy's in Exton, PA. This is one of three locations, all within Chester County. I came away knowing that I just expanded my network of restaurants around my office! I found the staff here to be very pleasant. They were experiencing issues with one of their registers, which cut them down to one pos system, but they seemed to be working through it. I also got the impression through their customer interaction that they have their fair share of "regulars". I went with the Buddy with Cheese, which equates to two all beef patties served on a fresh heavily seeded roll. It took me a little bit to gather my thoughts as I scanned through the list of available toppings. My Buddy ended up being customized to include lettuce (got my green on), tomato (juicy and ripe), pickle (thick slices), mushrooms (vegetable, right?) and ketchup and mayo ("secret sauce"). I ended up thoroughly enjoying my creation as proven by the fact that I only left the tin foil it was served in as the only remaining element (AI) on my tray. Buddy's has a giant chalk board of revolving specials. On this particular day I lucked out and was able to get a small side of fries for only $1. I had to choose between "fresh cut" or sweet potato. I ended up going sweet potato only to slightly regret the choice once I saw the bottles of malt vinegar lined up on Buddy's condiments counter. Don't get me wrong though, the sp fries were good and the "small" order was plenty for one (and maybe even for two). Unlike my burger I left plenty of fries to feed the trash can with. As far as beverages go you have bottle options (great option for take-out) or fountain, all of which are Coca-Cola products. Or if you really want to go for it, you can go for a 24 oz hand dipped shake. I went fountain but maybe I should have tried their "Tastykake Butterscotch Krimpet" shake! You can't get shakes at Five Guys... You can bank on seeing more Buddy's locations in the future. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

First time visit , I got chicken sandwich and my son got a burger. Service was fast and good. Food is very tasty with options for salads, chicken, wings and shakes. Pricing is comparable to 5 guys. Would definitely go back!

I had high hopes for this place based on reviews, it was BAD! The facility itself is really nice. Ordering was simple and seemed like it would be prepared fairly quick but boy was I wrong. 35 mins for our food (family of 4) and they forgot our kids milkshakes. Another 5 minutes goes by and I had to walk to the counter only to be asked what I needed and what kind of shakes were they. The burgers were horrible; crunchy, flavorless and tough. Our four year old enjoyed her hot dog at least. As for the service they were nice an apologetic about the time it took to get our food but they were extremely absent minded. In closing we will not be going back.

Just cannot wait to enjoy a "south of the buddy burger" fried onions, avocado, bacon, pepper jack, chipotle mayo! With a side of fries with onions and jalapenos! ! Love it.

I was introduced to this place by some coworkers and I'm mighty glad they did. It's a similar set up to 5 guys, choose your burger (single/double, cheese/no cheese, bacon, etc, free toppings). What sets this place apart is the menu options, there is always a burger of the month and side of the month in addition to the "signature" buddy's burgers. I still tend to get the same thing but it's great knowing if I'm feeling more adventurous I'll find something that will satisfy my appetite. I've had chili fries, cheese fries, spicy cheese fries, a chili relleno burger (amazing) and just the standard little buddy with cheese (bacon on occasion). Everything about this place is amazing, from the food to the quick and speedy service. For the vegetarians out there they have a grilled cheese in addition to a veggie burger.

Good food for very inexpensive. But the customer service is not up to par. It would just be nice if the employees weren't fooling around in the back, turning the store's music up louder than necessary when their favorite songs come on. And if the employees up front tried to act like they were happy to be there, receiving a pay check. I get it. A job is a job and a lot of the times, you're exhausted and work is the last place you wanna be. But if you don't want the job, leave, so someone else who actually wants to work can have the position. Also it would be nice if the women didn't wear skimpy shorts. And it would be desirable if people would wash their hands or wear gloves before touching food. Many occasions, the employees go from using their tablet POS system and handling money, to handling your fries or meat patties and buns. Who knows when that thing has been sanitized, if ever.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while because of recommendation from others. Finally tried yesterday. The 2-patty burger didn't taste bad but was way too greasy. The fries were pretty dark and tasted like they had probably cooked in over used oil, oil reused and reused for days. The price, is the same as full-service burger chain Red Robin. Next time if I want a good burger, I definitely go to Red Robin other than Buddy's Burger.

Been meaning to try this place out. A friend and I stopped in Friday and were happy to find out the good reviews are justified. I like ordering at a counter. Although there is the added pressure of figuring out what you want and having to spit it out under fire (if there is a line full of hungry people behind you), there is no waiter and no 20% tip to tack onto your bill. As is typical at these fast casual burger joints (e.g., Five Guys, Buddy's, etc)...a 'regular' burger has two patties of beef. I find this a little annoying, especially for those new to a place that might not know what they're getting themselves into, but it's clearly marked on the menu so they get a pass. Buddy's has plenty of tasty-sounding signature burgers for adventurists and thrill-seekers. They also have a host of free toppings available for those that like to get creative themselves. I'm a bit of a purist and go with the basics...lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mayo, ketchup, mustard and sometimes American cheese (which also happens to be known as the 'Classic' signature burger). The burger did not disappoint. It was cooked perfectly and served up on a soft, seeded bun. The toppings were fresh and the burger had obviously been crafted with care and was not thrown together haphazardly. The fresh cut fries were extremely good. Crispy but not overly so, they were just right and probably the highlight of the meal. The sweet potato fries were a miss and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. It was more of a texture thing than flavor. They just didn't do much for me. Get there early, because right around noon the line starts to get long. We got there just in time (about 11:45) and our food came out quickly. Don't worry if you do have to wait in line though, you can spend that time dreaming up the perfect burger.

So this is my first time coming to Buddy's and I must say this place is legit. My wife and I both got Rodeo Burgers, fries, and a strawberry shake. The good came out fresh and fast. I can definitely say that we will be back again.

Five consecutive deliveries missing either cheese, a patty, or bacon. My co-worker was also missing mushrooms today, but nobody called to let us know they were completely out. Again, my order was placed on grubhub and they still messed up, double checked receipt. I love their food but I should have stuck to telling myself I wouldn't order again, but someone else was buying so I caved. Out of the 20 times I have ordered delivery here, at least half were missing cheese, a patty, bacon, ketchup or dipping sauce for fries. They've also forgotten jalopenos and onion. Pathetic. The guys manning the grill really need to lay off the pot during lunch break. Don't bother asking for a manager, they just sneer at you and get pissed off, apparently there is no manager on duty. Don't ask for new food either, because they get mad when you do that too, and will offer to send the missing ingredients to arrive an hour later with your burger soggy and cold. This time I was upset after four consecutive incorrect deliveries and pushed for a replacement to be sent out, which arrived... Wrong. Again. Not as bad this time, they put avocado on it and I didn't order Avocado. Lay off the pot guys...
