We will be back! We had an awesome waitress, "Famous Sarah" who took care of all of our questions and needs in an endearing pleasant manner. All the employees seemed glad to be there, and worked together happily. unusual these days. We had to stand ungreeted at the door for what felt like a while. We almost left. Service and great food more than made up for that. We chose the 2 for 22 deal that gave us so much food and a great sampling of different things, meats and sides and sauces. The food arrived quick too!

I stopped for dinner after a long day on the road. It was a little late, 8pm, and choose to sit at the bar to watch tv while eating. I felt that the person working the bar was less than pleased with someone ordering dinner. I ordered a St, Louis ribs and Burt Ends combo. I found the ribs to be very flavorful and juicy. The sauce on the Burt Ends was extremely sweet, to the point that they were difficult to eat. The Wilbur beans were good although a little sweet. I enjoyed the corn on the cob. I had to ask for some additional napkins and when the server returned I received a look of how could I interrupt her. I would recommend the St. Louis ribs but stay clear of items that come with their overly sweet sauce. I would also avoid going late in the day.

This was pretty good food. We had a table of four and all of us were satisfied with our food and service. The bbq chips could have been a bit more bbq-y. The brisket and banana pudding were exceptional.

Barbecue ribs are excellent. Staff was good. Price was average. Coleslaw could use something to spice it up a bit, kinda bland. Overall a good experience, very similar to other Dave's I've eaten at.

We got the feast for two. It was such a metric ton of food that we could not finish it all. The one thing we wished we had I asked for was some doggy bags or containers to put the leftovers in. The chicken was seasoned wonderfully. The brisket was excellent and the ribs were lipsmacking good.We were staying at the comfort inn near splash Lagoon and decided to have the food delivered and we do not regret it. Except for as I stated above.

We went and had dinner here for 1st time last week, we both had baby back rib meal, food was all awesome we lived all of it, beans and coleslaw omg!!! The sweet tea sucks though!! Service was also very very slow and they were very slow maybe 5 other tables while we were there, didn't understand that but we got through it food was worth the trip we will be going back!! Oh and their prices we paid $64 for our 2 meals and 2 drinks wow!!

Food was great! The brisket was some of the best I've had. Multiple flavored and styles of sauces and meats to choose from. The kids menu offered a good variety and served its purpose. My son had the battered cod which he enjoyed. The corn muffins are sweet. Our server was great. The facility was clean, restrooms were clean. Plenty of parking.

Service & Management are truly disappointing. Not worth the trip. This was our first time dining at this facility. The food that evening was not bad. However, I will not return to this facility. Our table was largely ignored throughout the evening even though it was rather empty that night. Moreover, the next day we found an extra charge on our account. The next day, I called the establishment and they informed me that it should be cleared in a few days. It is now five days later and the charge is not yet cleared, called again and the manager on duty informed me that there was nothing he can do on his part. Not even an apology. He definitely lacked any customer service experience. Definitely, there are better establishments in the area. Save yourself the headache.

Took the family here for lunchwhile traveling through town and was looking for a barbecue place (we saw the sign on the interstate). Husband says the ribs were top notch. I had the salad with brisket, which was very tasty. I didn't like the original dressing and the waiter brought me a new salad without dressing, so awesome! The host and waiter were very friendly and made us feel very welcome! Great service and family friendly! We recommend this place to anyone looking for yummy BBQ!

Last time I was here was some time ago with my wife. We were not happy that visit. Just about wrote the place off. This time, I was flying solo and I had the burnt ends and ribs. Glad I gave it another shot. Service was way better and food was really tasty. I would even recommend it to a friend. So check it out friends. Burnt tips fell apart with a fork....just about. Very tender and moist. Cornbread excellent. Ribs pretty good as well. Topped off with SA Octoberfest beer. Don't forget the kick as Wilber Beans!

Another chain restaurant.......Our server was Bubba and she was wonderful. Thanks for making my visit a great experience. She was really great and I would go back just to see her. (Yes 100 miles ) The overall quality of the BBQ was average. The brisket was disappointing, but everything else was good. I may give this place another chance

From the Courtyard hotel it is pretty convenient so that is a plus. My family went last night and the food was ok. Not great, but adequate. The ribs were a little tough but had good flavor. The beans were awesome!! Our server, Holly, seemed to be a bit overworked but she did a good job and never neglected us. I would go back again but try something other than the ribs.

Service was not the best. Although I saw several servers doing a much better job than ours. Kids meal top notch, adult size and quality. Poor beer selection. Chopped pork very good, nice smoke ring. Pulled chicken equally as good. The sauces were merely okay. Nothing too authentic that you would find down south. However, the meat was good enough to eat without. Fries very good, beans good, coleslaw a little too creamy, not much flavor. Overall a good experience. Would definitely go back.

Decent value at best. Ribs were tasteless and service was mechanical. Guess we expected more southern style flavor. This is a chain, just wasn't a fit for us.

I was very happy with the food and service. For once Erie has a good country place to eat. It was so good that I had to take most of it home. My dog also enjoyed the food. That is why I give it the amazing rating on 5 stars

This is the best place for BBQ! Ribs are awesome, wilbur beans are the best. Get the feast for 3,it comes on a trash can lid!

Thought this would be a great quick stop for some tasty BBQ. It was quick and there was BBQ, but not what I was expecting. Ordered Pork Sandwich and it did not taste like fresh smoked pork... Tasteless, mushy and bland...and then the excitement....a hair! They were kind enough to not charge me for the sandwich but I did pay for the sides...which were pretty unexciting. Basically the McDonalds of BBQ. With real BBQ abounding in loads of places, you surly can do better. The waitress was sorry and certainly it was not her fault!

Food was very good. I recommend the Cedar plank salmon. Service however was not very good. Denise was terrible.

I was staying at Residence Inn and saw a sign for this place. The hickory smoked ribs are super tender and tasty. I love the different variety of sauces. The Wilbur's Revenge sauce has some serious kick to it. I ate here twice and had a great experience each time. I have no complaints about this place. The service was good and I would recommend this place to anyone who loves smoke bbq.

Why should I have to intervene in a verbal fight between bartender and server? That's what happened. We were seated near the bar, and actually had the bartender serve us (she was good.). However, another server constantly harassed the bartender about some previous beer order- literally yelling at her. It was ongoing, with the bartender pleading that they discuss it elsewhere and not in front of the patrons. When I mentioned it to the manager, there wasn't really any look or sound of concern from him. Just a, "it's taken care of," kind of reaction of a situation that went on wayyyyyyy too long. The bartender, actually commented something on the lines of, "See! That's what I told you!" Get a grip on your staff man!

I agree with James S. The ribs were tasty but they definately needed to let them slow cook for about another hour so they fall off the bone. But overall, very flavorful.

For a day where we had six inches of snow outside the service was very good. I had their famous ribs and they came in second to dinosaur's of Syracuse. The Saint Louis sauces were OK but not great. But everything was a good donner and I would come back for more

We are giving this one more try and then it will be three strikes and you're out! Been back twice to so so food. We think maybe they just prepare in the AM and then heat up throughout the day. Very dissapointing :(

Food is so good. Last time I had Dave's was in Reno NV so my eyes lit up when I found it. Got basket for 2 plenty of food for 3. Came for lunch are paid in 45 mins. Ribs fell off bone had 6 different BBQ sauces at table to spread on everything and anything. If you want BBQ Dave's is the place.

Lunch service is awesome. Quick kitchen and meal was perfect. Try ultimate burger, looks large and it is great flavor.

Drinks so strong that I couldn't finish it ( although, some people would think that's a good thing) Ceaser salad had way to much dressing with brown lettuce , brisket was dry and lacked seasoning. So loud in the place the waitress couldn't hear our order. On a plus the decor was nice.

Here are somethings that might interest you if your looking for? 1. Cold food 2. Forgotten appetizers 3. Disconnected wait staff 4. Disconnected management 5. Unconcern wait staff about selling or talking up the product. If your looking for these 5 things, Famous Dave's BBQ in Erie, PA is the place for you. I visited this place tonight and it was DEAD, I've seen more action at a funeral home after all the family has left and its just the person waiting in the casket. That should have been a huge warning sign, we decided to go to Famous Dave's BBQ because LongHorn's down the road was totally slammed and rightly so, their place is excellent but I must go on with my beating of the food and service tonight. Now I believe I'm very spoiled because I came from Phoenix where the staff sold product like their life depended on it. They gave the sauce tour making in a pig face on a paper place and the kids love it and it gets them to try something new. The wait staff in Gilbert, AZ asked my kids their age and name and ask them what their favorite food was giving the correct attention to those would otherwise be looked over. In Phoenix the Famous Dave's BBQ management made an honest effort to make their round and talk to every customer. Considering there was only 30 people in the place tonight it would not have taken much time and it gets a good feel for what the customers feel about the place. Here is the review, everything started out fine, lack of people didn't concern me but it could just have been a slow night. I used to be a cook and that stuff just happens and you just ignore it. The waitress didn't look at me in the eye now that is a huge NO and she didn't give me the list or beers in stock. I knew what I wanted so that was not a big deal. We ordered appetizers and they never came instead it was the main meal came and my food was cold. I sent the food back and it was nuked, I could tell as there were spots that were cold and others hot, the mac and cheese were cold too. My family finished their meal and as I was trying to eat my food our waitress asked me if I wanted my food to go? I looked at her and said, NO I'm still eating because my food was cold! And, she ran off, now a good staff member would have told the manager and said, can you talk to this customer because they are not happy. Did I see that person? NOPE! In fact he walked right past me. Desert was offered and my wife whom was mad and kept it under wraps. And my daughter asked for the Oreo cookie which is free and she did it very polite. She returned with an Oreo cookie for my daughter and my son whom was sitting across from her didn't get one at all until my wife asked for it. I could see the face of my wife and she was beyond mad now. We paid and she wrote a long note on the bill. I would not be surprised if this Famous Dave's BBQ failed in Erie. And I can tell you, ERIE LIKES TO EAT! You have to have either really horrible food or service. If you have either one you will be ok in Erie, pa, if you have both then you will be doomed to failure. The manager at famous daves bbq from Giilbert, AZ whom runs a very tight ship and has kept some of the same staff since it opened should throw down on this place. I won't give it more chances like Sarah (great reviewer) did and she knows food, she gets it. More food does not mean better food, I would rather have a smaller dish with outstanding fresh flavor then a plate full of reheated nuked food and staff that does not care. Your bummed customer. PS. My wife said, she won't come back.
