This is a great restaurant. the food is amazing. Bill B start out running a snack shack at the Scranton Muny and ended up with a thriving business. I can't say enough about the food. it is some of the best in the city. They keep the kitchen open until about 10 on Friday and Saturday nights. I have never had anything bad here. My favorite are the chicken bites and the Buffalo shrimp. OK so they are appetizers, but the best bites in the city. how can i say no!? There is a full bar, with a huge martini menu that Billy and Lindsey come up with. Lindsey is always coming up with a new drink, and normally they are great! she is also really good at recommending beer. and they have the second best beer selection in the city! Billy B's draws a big crowd, old and young. There is something for everyone. it is a little more money than some of the other places i have reviewed, but still not terrible expensive. and they bring their A game here. there is also planty of parking across the street in the church lot, just don't get to drunk to drive home because the will tow if your car is there in the morning.

Visited here a few nights ago with my sister, her hubby and my date. Let me start by saying that I've been here several times before and my experiences were similar. Very slow service, inattentive servers even when it's not busy. That being said- my sis wanted to go here so I agreed. We sat at a table for 4. My date and I arrived first and I had to fetch our own drinks. The rest of our party arrived and they fetched their own drinks. We wanted to order food so we asked the "server" for menus. When we were ready to order he told us that he couldn't take our order because "the kitchen was crazy right now". Are you kidding me???? I t was NOT busy there and even if it was, you don't tell customers that. All of us were in shock at what this kid had told us. He must be someone's kid who really needed a job because his customer service skills were seriously lacking. When I told him that we wanted separate checks he said " they'll kill me if I put this on 2 checks" We eventually got our food even though it came out one plate at a time(?????). Fortunately the food was very good. We all had appetizers and were pleased with the quality. in spite of that, however, I WILL NOT be returning to Billy B's again.

All I have to say is this is the small town place to take a date. And if you are feeling something more upbeat the bar end has the best beer selection on tap as well as in bottles. The food make you want to come back tomorrow for more. And the appetizers could be the best meal in area if you order all of them they are that good. I don't drink Martinis but the menu is about 60 selections and every time I have seen one delivered they are 10 out of 10 and leave you wanting more. Only problem with this place is having to choose just 1 beer and just 1 entrée!!!

Amazing food. We had a party of six women and we each order 2 or more Martinis. The service was fantastic and the drinks were delicious! Best experience. Completely recommend.

Best food and drinks in the area. The martini list is extensive and everyone can find a flavor they will enjoy. Frozen Martinis are like deserts, they are amazing. My favorite is the passion fruit (not frozen). I brought my whole family for a big Valentine's Day dinner and everyone enjoyed their food. My older aunt and uncle loved it so much they made reservations to come back the next week! The exterior is somewhat odd considering it is an older house made into a restaurant but, don't let the exterior scare you away! The interior is very welcoming and cozy! Reservations are a good idea in case they are busy that day! I really recommend trying this place out!!!!

The martini list is enormous. I highly suggest trying the mint chocolate chip martini. It comes with a girl scout thin mint cookie and it's absolutely to die for.

Great food, awesome drink selection. A bit pricey, but always worth it in my eyes. On Thursday nights it tends to get a bit busy, especially behind the bar. I went with a friend of mine and sat, the female bartender greeted us and gave us menus. When we went to order, I stated that I was ready to order my food as well. But her response was "oh girls I can't take your food order now, there are too many tables ahead of you." It was not said in a pleasant tone which took my friend and I by surprise. We then got our drinks which are always great and then we waited, and waited, and waited. We decided to get the males attention who is the other bartender. He happily took our order and we got our food shortly after. While eating, I noticed the bartenders getting very cocky with the other employees. They talked poorly about them when they would walk away, and they would also say rude things about customers that weren't around. My experience is usually quiet and pleasant at this restaurant when I sit at a table, I guess sitting at the bar was a mistake. Overall, the bartenders were highly unprofessional. The female was extremely rude and not sufficient at all. The male was pleasant, but seemed to get agitated easily. Next time I come I will make sure to sit at a table.

Great menu, not your usual fried bar food. Everything from Classic Italian to unique seafood and amazing homemade soups. Very casual atmosphere but expect to spend some time if you order a dinner with apps and salads and desserts. Martini menu you is huge and constantly expanding. The beer list has over 200 beers.

Worst customer service ever even from the owner Billy himself. After work 11 of us went to this place for dinner and martinis, one of my co-workers did not get his steak dinner until 1hr45mins later. Since we spent over $500 at this place we asked the manager if his meal could be comped, her rude response was no and that people should expect 45 mins wait for their meals. We all said but this is an HOUR and 45 MINUS. So we asked to see the owner. Billy came out 30 mins later, since we threatened not to pay our bills without talking to him. Billy simply told us no! We proceeded to explain to Billy that his manager was also rude to us (and she really was) and he said he can't believe that. We also complained that our dirty dishes never got picked up and we got flies every where at the table out on the patio. Billy explained to us that he did not create flies and reminded us that God created flies. The last thing we complained about was, most of us never got water when requested. He said they were busy and that by us complaining to him we were taking him away from serving other customers and now their food will be LATE! We are traveling consultants from all over the states. There are 25-30 of us working at three major hospitals at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. We have already shared our bad experiences at this place at the hospitals, hotels, and our company.

Billy takes great pride in this restaurant, and it shows. The amount of time that most of the prior reviews dismiss as a negative aspect should be a positive. He simply doesn't send out food that doesn't meet his standards - therefore it takes a little longer than usual to have it leave the kitchen. The crab dip is absolutely to die for, with a variety of dipping options (pretzels, bread, etc.). Homemade seafood bisque is unbelievable. The Billy Burger I received was HUGE. Had to be at least a pound of meat on the burger, plus the toppings... couldn't even fit it in my mouth - had to cut it into smaller pieces. Bar was packed - has an unreal amount of variety in beer and martinis. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area!

Martini list is huge. If you love Martinis this is a great place to go. The food is pretty good, a bit expensive, but it's good portions and presented well, not just bar food. Service sucks. Doesn't matter how many people are there, service is slow. You more than likely will feel over looked or ignored a lot.

I've only gone to Billy B's twice and the two experiences could not be different. I stopped by around Thanksgiving of last year and had a great time. The food was great, service was good, and beer was delicious. I stopped by again in early May of this year and they had completely changed the place around. The former place had great bar food and the burger I had was mouthwatering. They've since changed their menu to straight Italian and upped their prices (not what we were expecting at all). The food is still good, but it doesn't have the same charm that the place had before. The service this time around was just awful too. We waited about 45 minutes just to have our order taken and another 45 before we got our meal. The beer is still great, so I'd probably just suggest coming here for drinks and not a meal.

For about a year straight, my mom and I would come to Billy B's just about every Thursday for the special. Food was always great, service was excellent, and the martinis were to die for. I would have given this place 5 stars for the longest time, but after awhile, however, things started to go downhill. Recently, the service has been anything but good. A bunch of my co-workers and friends have had similar experiences as of late, but my last visit was an absolute disaster. Six of us arrived, sat down, and had our drink orders taken. The drinks took longer than expected, but we ordered 2 martinis so that was easily excusable. However, our waitress waited 45 minutes (yes, FORTY FIVE MINUTES) to take our food order. She walked by our table numerous times, almost seeming as though she was avoiding our table completely. We sat by the door to the kitchen and she walked by countless times without even a mention of taking our orders. All of our menus were closed, we were STARVING, and I'd already finished my martini as well as the others finished their drinks. We asked another waitress if we could have our orders taken to which she replied that she wasn't our waitress. She did, however, seem to confront our waitress in front of the dining area about it. Finally, our waitress came by and told us she needed to give some other tables their checks first before she took our order. The food itself didn't take too long, but my salad was drenched with dressing which seems to be the norm as of late. Too bad, used to be one of my favorites. After again waiting to get our check, we paid our bill and left a small tip. Funny, our waitress came running over to check our receipt for her tip before we even got up to leave. I'll probably only ever come back to get martinis at this point as the bartenders are pretty friendly, but the ignorant wait staff and food inconsistency has got to change for my friends, my co-workers, and myself to go back for more than one drink, if that.

Had what should have been a good dining experience ruined by terrible service. The bartender was complaining to other patrons about how hungry he was and how difficult it was for him to watch others eat. When I finished my meal and asked for a box saying I was too full to finish it he exclaimed "well isn't that a luxury!" This was after it took 40 minutes for him to even take our order. Probably wouldn't return for the food which was a little pricey, but might go back to choose from their extensive beer selection. Of course if I walk in and see the same server I'll turn around and walk right back out.

Billy B's is a little out of the way restaurant in Dunmore. It's in the middle of a neighborhood and off the beaten path. If you drive too fast you will pass it by. Actually it doesn't look like much on the outside as it used to be someone's house. The inside has an odd layout, again b/c it is a house that was converted over to a bar/ restaurant. We actually ate in what was the dining room. They have a decent selection of American fare with some Italian influences. Salads, soups and sandwiches are available but full entres and specials are also available. They have an extensive beer selection with something like 200 beers on in the bottle, 20 on tap. I wound up getting the tuna steak which was fantastic. The others I was with got steak... huge steak at that. Over all the food was very good, definitely above average. The waitresses and the bartender were super nice and friendly. I suggest that you stop by on a Friday and ask for the waitress Jill. She knew I was interested in the beers and offered a free sample of some beer on tap. The bartender made a martini for us, but decided she didn't like that one and gave us a one that she thought she could make better. Fantastic service!!! Overall it was a good experience... would definitely god back. I'm only giving it 4 stars due to the odd layout but otherwise this is a diamond in the rough. TIP: Come early as the seating is somewhat limited. Also - the Peroni Beer on tap is incredibly fresh and crisp.

I'm of two minds about Billy B's. It is (as some reviews have mentioned) not a lot to look at, tucked away in a residential block of Dunmore. To my mind this is primarily a bar, with the food coming in second. (People can argue that either way, I suppose) About half of the times that I've been here it felt like it was a Dunmore High School class reunion. Makes sense; it's a neighborhood bar/restaurant in Dunmore, it's a good bar, good service, cold beer, and ok food. Why wouldn't it be full of born and bred Dunmorians? I'm not a native Scrantonian, much less a Dunmorian...so sometimes being surrounded on all sides by people who are talking about the big football game from 10 years ago, or so and so who was Miss Buck...sometimes it's a bit much. BUT, it is friendly, clean, reasonably priced, and a pretty good time, even for one of the outsiders.

I've been to this bar numerous times, and almost always not by my choice. Last night was no exception. I met some friends there, and was immediately put off by the gigantic tables that seem to take up way too much space in such a small establishment. Good luck walking through this place on a busy night. They do have a great drink selection, from beers on tap, craft bottles, a HUGE martini list, etc. But, the drink menu is so big, that the bartenders don't remember how to make each drink, and have to look it up, which slows down their already dreadfully slow service. Do yourself a favor, if you aren't eating, just go to the bar for a drink. Table service takes forever. I've heard good things about their food, but have never eaten here. I can't imagine how long I would need to wait. The place itself seems to be filled with regulars, which is a good thing, but the staff only pays attention to them. I felt a bit like my ordering a drink was a burden on the bartender's conversations with the regulars. But the main reason this place isn't my first choice is simply the atmosphere when I walk in the door. It just feels boring to me. I will give them credit for their creative specials, like beer flights and mystery six packs to go. Pretty cool. But overall, I will still only go here if I need to meet friends here.

Cozy little corner bar, bigger inside than it looks from the outside. Beer selection is huge - many, many different bottles to choose from and about twelve brews on tap. I cannot vouch for the freshness of the less commonly ordered beers (things I'd order) as the turnover probably isn't very high. I've been here several dozen times and have noticed that the preparation of food is inconsistent, the service is all over the place, and the prices sometimes change from the menu to the bill. Noticing a theme here? You can spend a lot without realizing it - that bottle of beer you ordered might be $15.00, but you wouldn't know it until you got the check, because prices are not listed. If you don't carry cash, they have completely arcane rules about using plastic, including: $15 minimum, $2 surcharge for declined cards, $1 surcharge for using your card to pay for specific menu items - all of which are in violation of Visa's merchant service agreement. Their standard salad (which includes candied pecans, a shrimp, mandarin oranges) is excellent with the vidalia onion dressing. I also recommend their chicken bites with Jack Daniels sauce. On certain nights, they offer (used to offer?) a 4 course meal for $12.00. Recently, one of the four entree selections for this special was hot & sweet sausage + chicken Calabrese, which was amazing, but probably the only time it'll be prepared that way.

Waited a half hour for the host to come seat us and ended up walking out.. I was completely ignored by every employee in the place. This place looks like a dump and smells like a urinal. I think it's a blessing I didn't get to eat the food from this crap shoot.

This place has an excellent beer selection: 24 taps, almost all craft, 4-5 of which are local. They also had an impressive bottle selection, but I stuck with drafts for this visit. The martini menu looked pretty impressive too, if that's your thing. My wife ordered a caramel martini, and she absolutely loved it. It was a wednesday, so the place wasn't busy. So as expected, the service was good. The menu was mostly italian, as another reviewer noted. I went with the filet, which was a tad underdone for my liking (medium), but still excellent. (and in their defense they offered to throw it back on the grill if I wanted). My wife ordered the lobster ravioli, which she also liked. Portion sizes were generous, but not monstrous (a good thing). I thought the pricing was fair, our total bill for 4 drinks, a steak, and ravioli was just over $60. A great deal in my opinion. I would highly recommend this place for the drinks, and the food is worthwhile too.
