We had approximately 90 people for a funeral luncheon and the service, food, and attitudes were all exceptionally wonderful. I have had plenty of experiences with large groups that have been a nightmare but our time there today was above our expectations. Thank you all.

We've been going to one or the other Leggio's at least once every two weeks since the Wilkes-Barre location opened. It's the oddest place we go in that some things are consistently great, others are unexplainably awful. First, the good. The franchaise dishes are the best of any local restaurant. Moreover, the vodka sauce is first-rate, and all the soups are consistently delicious. At the same time, the salads are awful. Blaw iceberg lettuce and bottled dressings. Why? Also, avoid the red sauce. It is watery and tasteless. Finally, nearly the only way seafood is served is over pasta. Again, why? Would love to get shrimp scampi or a nice piece of fish sans pasta. Finally, ditch the garlic knots. Nothing is better than an Italian restaurant that serves fresh, hearth-baked, crusty Italian bread. How about it, Sal?

Great service, okay entrees. I had the veal francaise and something about it tasted kind of off. The veal wasn't very tender, either. My sister had the chicken francaise and had the same issue. They made us new meals, which was really awesome. My mom loved her baked ziti and the garlic knots were really good. As other reviewers have stated, stick with the pizza, calzones, that type of thing. I also tried the chicken bites and they were delicious.

I've eaten here now during their dinner and breakfast offering. The Italian menu is solid with traditional favorites. The family loves the garlic knots that come with dinner. The breakfast menu is a bit thin but it covers most staples. The homefries were a bit bland but were crunchy. Kids menu is decent. Average prices for all items. My father misses the days of the former incarnation of this place as Pickett's Charge.

Pizza is doughy and soggy, burgers arrive overcooked and buns aren't fresh, pasta dishes are the tired old recipes poorly executed. Nothing tastes fresh or homemade. Service isn't any better.

I'm a huge fan of Leggio's! Their prices are reasonable, and they have a big menu with lots of delicious entrees, appetizers and cocktails. I've never eaten anything there that I haven't really enjoyed. I love even the salads and dressings they have to choose from. We've never had a long wait for a table or for food, no matter the size of our family party. I would always pick this place over any chain restaurant in the area, and I feel the same love for the Wilkes Barre location. It's also quite family friendly, and I have nothing bad to say at all except I wish they delivered.

I recently attended a rehearsal dinner here. Food was average to below average. We started out with some boring iceberg lettuce salads. The rest of the meal was served buffet style. Pasta was average, Alfredo sauce was pasty and didn't taste house made. Veggies appeared to be of the frozen and bagged variety. Mashed potatoes were clearly from a box. Chicken Marsala was average, nothing special. The garlic knots were very tasty and service was great. I wouldn't return.

Although it has been a while since this horrible meal has happened to me, I have now gotten around to reviewing it. So we arrive at this establishment around 5:30 or 6 on a Friday night. The server was nice, as they were before, and every other meal before this one was enjoyable. I decided to get the regular lasagna. After waiting a moderate amount of time, the lasagna came out, and it looked awful. Expecting a usual square of lasagna I find a bowl filled with sauce. Literally it looked like an entire grocery store of sauce was dumped into a bowl, covered in a huge layer of cheese. I couldn't see any noodle, pasta part in the entire thing. I started digging around in it and found literally three slivers of in there. I am about 90% sure that they just grabbed all the left over ingredients from the day and threw it into a bowl. It was absolutely disgusting to. I'm only giving a 2 star rating because because the servers are nice. Don't be fooled by the Italian name, because the quality of the food sure doesn't match it.

Prior to going gluten free, this was my favorite restaurant to get dinner with my fiance! We've gone countless times over the past 2 years and we've never left complaining. (Unless we've gone on a particularly busy night and we get a new waitress who is overwhelmed, lol) The portions are huge, the food is delicious. The garlic knots are to die for. My one and only complaint is that I can no longer eat there because of my gluten sensitivity. (It's good enough that I still go every once in awhile and deal with the side effects!!!!!)

Pizza is great, everything else is not so good. The pesto sauce sucks.

We were greeted by the owner and seated right away. Our server was prompt and treated us very nicely. the chicken orzo soup was good, as was the pizza. Nice decor inside the restaurant. The bathroom was clean. Overall, a nice experience. I would go again.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
