When I lived in the area, I used to stop here every week, without fail. They sell "strip style" sandwiches, akin to Primanti Bros. signature sandwiches loaded with coleslaw and french fries. Now, I had never been to Primanti Bros. before trying Daddy's.. had only seen it featured on television. Daddy's version was absolutely amazing. HUGE portions. I had to split with a friend. We'd usually get an order of loaded cheese fries, as well, and always ate every last artery-clogging bite. When I left college, and inevitably craved these sandwiches, I decided to make a day trip out to Pittsburgh to stop at Primanti Bros. to order one. They were the original so they must be even better than Daddy's, right? Wrong. Primanti's may have come up with the sandwich, but Daddy's certainly perfected it. I immediately regretted my decision of not heading to Clarion. Not only is the food fantastic, but the service always was, as well. They're very friendly and welcoming. I attend the University virtually now, and when I graduate, I'll be attending commencement. I think I may be more excited to be handed my Daddy's sandwich than I am my diploma.

This place was disappointing. We really really wanted to like it. We ordered the philly cheesesteak, Loaded fries, Buffalo chicken basket, the Gyro cheesesteak, and the Myron cope--a burger with pierogie bacon cheddar cheese and grilled onion. They had cool specials with cool names. But the patties were not hand padded as advertised. The food was fine not great. The rolls were too soft. The dudes behind the counter were friendly, they reminded me of the dudes from "Clerks" somewhat grown up and now business owners.

UPDATE: In the two years since I've been coming to Daddy's every chance I get (for living in Brooklyn), I've watched the place continue to grow and evolve. On my last visit, I had the half-sized burger, which is a great addition to their menu. It's a 1/4 lb. hand pattied burger from local beef and fresh cut fries. While Daddy's is known for over-the-top burgers and specials, it was nice to see some more health-conscious choices for when you don't feel like a 1/2 lb. burger covered in blue cheese and bacon with an entire basket of fries. PREVIOUS: No doubt that I'm a fan of Daddy's Main St. Everything is made fresh, comes out right with scary consistency for a small town restaurant, and prices are rock bottom for this quality of food. Local grass-fed beef. Menu changes every day. Friendly service. Limited seating so be prepared to wait a few minutes during lunch and dinner rush. Try the slow roasted BBQ pork shank with mustard slaw and a side of fresh cut fries (made to order). Hot dogs are dynamite. Bacon-bleu (heritage bacon) burger with homemade BBQ is also a favorite. Daddy's Main St. has passion for food. Oh, and the short-order cook is one of a kind. Born to make people hungry.

I have to say daddy's main st has the best tasting burger in the world... Just great taste! I've been there several times... I really want to go that place again.

I'm not sure why people want to complain so much about the decor of the place. The place is privately owned, and since there aren't decorations, collectibles, or murals painted on the walls the costs of having those things doesn't get passed onto the customer. Places like Applebee's, Hard Rock Cafe, and Max & Erma's factor that overhead into your bill when really you should just be paying for the food. That's what you get at Daddy's. The food is awesome, and it's reasonably priced. That's what I want from a restaurant, not a bunch of goofy crap on the walls. This place has the best muffaletta I've ever eaten, and everything else is exceptional to boot. If I had to make one complaint it's that they can't cook a burger to temperature to save their lives, but I'll let it slide because it's not that big of a deal. Eat there.

This is why I love yelp! Only 2 miles off of interstate 80 this humble storefront Great so delicious Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Everything is made fresh to order and the fellows that work behind the counter are quite friendly. Well worthThe two-mile diversion!

Driving on 80, going back home to nyc. This place is just perfect- open faced prime rib sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy, along with a prime rib cheesesteak. Both were perfect and like $8 each. Highly recommended! Great staff and service too!

We drove three miles from the highway to eat at Daddy's because of the reviews we read from others on Yelp. Let me save you some gas (pun intended). We ordered the double burger and cheese fries. We were disappointed with burger because the "grass fed beef" was no better tasting than beef at any fast food restaurant. The burger was served with all the toppings you could want, but on a cold bun. The cheese fries were warm at best and were dark brown and oily. In spite of that, the two guys serving us were really friendly. It just goes to show that good service will many times help erase the taste of mediocre food.

Daddy's on Main St is the best eating option Clarion has to offer. It's exactly what you would expect in a college town. Fantastic burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, and wings, and the prices are great. I'll dare to say that it is even better than the O (blasphemy?) in Pittsburgh. Personal Favorites: Double Cheeseburger w/ Bacon: You know how some places you really don't taste all of the ingredients in the cheeseburger? Yeah, forget those days. This is local grass-fed beef, with delicious smoked bacon, and lots of cheese. Fresh lettuce and tomatoes, and you have an amazing burger. One of my favorite burgers of all time. Eddie Dog: A hot dog with chili, Dorritos, and cheese? Mmmmm. Delicious!! It sounds outright bizarre, but it is the most endearing hot dog. It will continue to grow on you forever. And they have a special where you can get 3 hot dogs for somewhere around $3.99. Cool! So why is this the best place in Clarion? These people are consistent! The food is always fantastic, the hours are way better than most of the restaurants in the area, and the service is always friendly. They don't favor the locals over the college kids here the way other places do. The decor is a bit out of date, but who cares? The are clearly supporting local teams, and the food is so good, you'll never even notice what the place looks like. It is a little small to eat in, but I've never had trouble finding a seat. SO DELICIOUS!

Easily the best place to eat in clarion. I usually get a chicken cheese steak, since this is the only place I've found in the area that makes one. Everything is cooked properly and tastes great. The fries are delicious and always made fresh. And the burgers are always changing, which is a good and bad thing. My favorites have been the bilbo baggins, which was two potato skins on a burger with bacon and cheese, and the Manny Sanguillen, which was pulled pork with a pierogie on a burger. Only problem is when you find a burger you love, it's gone next week. The staff are always friendly and have yet to have a bad experience here.

This is the reason a site like Yelp exists. I was traveling from Ohio to New Jersey and needed to take a break near Clarion, PA. The options off the highway did not look that promising. The reviews on Yelp directed me to Daddy's Main Street a couple of miles from Route 80. Clarion looks like quintessential small town America. Since it was December, Christmas carols were broadcast on the street. Daddy's Main Street is in an unassuming storefront on this unassuming Main Street. The first sign that this place had promise was the specials written on the blackboard. Crawfish Po' Boy and Wedding Soup were some of the specials. Since I was in the mood for a hamburger, I didn't try either. The restaurant itself is nothing special. You order in back by the grill and there are a number of small tables up front. After taking some time reviewing the menu I settled on a Memphis Blues burger... a half-pound "hand-patted" patty topped with Blue Cheese, BBQ sauce, and cole slaw. I was impressed when the guy behind the counter asked how I wanted it cooked. The proof however is in the eating and this was a good burger. The toppings on the burger combined to provide a slightly sharp almost cheddary taste chased by the flavor of fresh coleslaw. The bun was also really good. It had some texture to it suggesting it came from a local bakery rather than off a supermarket shelf. The fries were lightly seasoned and fried kind of like Five Guys fries. Everyone behind the counter was pleasant. The owner asked how I liked the burger and seemed to joke with many of the customers. I asked for coffee and he said that he made a fresh pot yesterday! Frankly, the coffee was the only shortcoming. It was strong which I don't mind, but they only had dried creamer for the coffee. I imagine if I asked for milk I could have gotten it. There were lots of things on the menu I wanted to try. They offered a variety of Po' Boys, wings, various hotdogs, Chili, and a sandwich called the Front Porch Club with ham, turkey, bacon, fried egg, cheese, mayo, lettuce and tomato. I'm not sure when I'll pass this way next, but I'd happily go back.

Yummm!! What a great find. We were traveling on I80. Usually we have to settle for either fast food or some mediocre fare. Not so at Daddy's Main St. I enjoyed the Chicken Cheesesteak since I can't find any in the South Bend, IN area & my husband feasted on the regular Cheesesteak. The service is warm and friendly. Well worth the drive off of I80.

This place is great! Loved this place in my college days. Staff is great. Always would order their daily special. Prices are cheap. Burger and fries are the best in town hands down!

Food is good, but the decor dismal with greasy salt shakers and unkempt atmosphere. More of a college-type eatery.
