First time here. We had thought it was a bar with food so had not been interested then we were told by a friend that they had a really good meal here so we decided to try it. As our waitress said "it's a restaurant with a bar". Very nice and pleasant atmosphere. Our food was delicious from the soup to the entree...everything was delicious. I had the seafood medley and the sauce was perfect. Our waitress was spot on, professional, and friendly. We will definitely be eating here again and again!

We have been to the River House twice. Excellent service! The food is very good would compare to a primamtis. Not a fan of the calamari although they r cooked perfectly the breeding has sooooooo much granulated garlic it leaves a terrible taste! The gyro was amazing, the drinks are great, ambience is nice, and salads are fresh! My 5 yr old even commented on how much she liked her meal which is rare! The owner is super nice and came over to talk to the kids and give them 'bug juice' which was very appreciated!

The food is always great but the service is absolutely horrible! I used to get take-out here multiple times per week & every person that rang me up was so rude --with the exception of the owner. If you can tolerate that then the pierogi pizza is a must try.

I've recently moved to the Charleroi area, and have had Riverhouse twice already. The first visit my mom and I went for a sit down lunch. We each ordered the half sandwich, soup, and side salad special. We chose the half Italian hoagie. It was huge and absolutely delicious. We both also had the clam chowder which was wonderful and the Caesar salad which was fresh and crunchy. The second time I ordered delivery for my husband and I. I chose the chicken parm. It was decent. The chicken was a little over-cooked, but it was a huge piece of chicken. It does not come with pasta so I ordered pasta as one of my two sides. The pasta was cooked well and the sauce tasted good. Although, they went a little light on the sauce. I again had the Caesar side salad and it was fresh. My husband had the meatloaf dinner. He liked the meatloaf, but stated the gravy was a little bland. All in all it was still a good meal and we will continue to visit Riverhouse.

My favorite place to eat! Doesn't matter what you order it tastes are amazing. The service is so friendly and the prices on food and booze are very fair. Down fall draft beer doesn't taste as clean as you would want it to but the great food makes up for the minor downfall.

Celebrated my mom's 66th bday here just yesterday. We have been here in the past and the food and service is always awesome! This day was no different. I will start by saying it is in downtown Charleroi. There is plenty of parking near by which is always a bonus. The interior is huge which is nice because you are not cramped and bumping into other diners. Our server was prompt and absolutely wonderful! I can not remember her name though. Our drinks were never empty and she made sure we had everything we needed, checking on us frequently but not intrusively so. We got apps including the root beer BBQ wings. Oh my! The sauce was just fabulous! Tasty, not too sweet and the wings themselves were HUGE! They were also perfectly cooked with a nice crisp coating. The fam also got fried pickles. I did not have any but they loved them. We also got the pub fries which are fries in olive oil with rosemary and parm cheese also delightful. Most of us got the turkey sandwich. It was Thanksgiving on bread. Delicious! It was wonderfully thin sliced turkey with lettuce and a wonderful cranberry relish made with real cranberries. It was just tasty! I got sweet potato fries. The hubby got the Italian hoagie and was a little disappointed in the size. That's why they don't get a 5 star. My mom got the chicken spinach wrap and enjoyed it immensely. Overall wonderful dining experience from start to finish. And their prices are reasonable as well whch is always a bonus! We will got there again for sure. If you are ever in the area, I would recommend it as would my family.

Stopped based on reviews...the bartenders were very busy...but handling the bar...only saw ONE server on the floor which perhaps is 3 times the size of the bar area with 3 times the amount of tables...ordered a couple drinks which were very well made and generous...ordered an appetizer, which was simple because it was fried...when it came out it was more than expected...but it was an little more than warm...when I asked how it was I said good but only warm, which meant the appetizer had sat and had cooled off considerably...the bartender said they had watched it cooked and said it was hot when it was put up for delivery...but I know there was not adequate help, the bartender had to do to do double duty! If the restaurant can not afford the necessary help...then they need to do one of two things...have adequate help for a busy Friday night or only open sections where one floor server can handle and also help the bar staff deliver food to patrons at the bar...the third choice, well you make that conclusion based on the quality of service and/or food!

Nice spot in downtown Charleroi. Came in for lunch with a business crew and were promptly seated and attended to. Then came the food...which was surprisingly really good and plentiful, too! The gyro I had was packed with tons of meat and was quickly devoured. The rest of the gang ordered calzones. Needless to say, everyone joined "the clean plate club" and enjoyed their food. Given the bar space, this might not be a bad after hours place, either. All in all, good stop. If you're in the area, check it out...it's good eats!

This is a pleasant discovery in Charleroi. Right in the downtown area, with both street and off-street parking, this place has excellent food, a somewhat noisy ambience, and adequate and friendly service. I enjoyed exquisite corn shrimp chowder (a special that night), and a delicious apple/cranberry salad with candied walnuts. The Mon burger was intriguing, with the barbecue sauce cooked into the burger. Another highlight was homemade gnocchi. There are a variety of beers on tap and a full-service bar. The table service was extremely pleasant, but it was slow. It was a Friday night and a large party arrived just before us. That may have caused the delay in the service. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for excellent and varied food and an enjoyable evening.
