When was the first time I ate at Hoss's? It's probably been 10 years. If you like to eat, it's the place for you. It a sort of buffet with a twist. As far as I remember, Hoss's is a Pennsylvania establishment. They are usually located near highways and usually clean. The decor is folksy with lots of "artifacts" hung from the wall. In winter they might even have the fire place going. The one is Chambersburg is very nice. You walk up to an attendant who takes your order (all kinds of meat!!! and a little seafood). You are escorted to your table by a hostess. Then you can dig in. There is a HUGE salad bar with all kinds of Pennsylvania Dutch specialties (including red-beet eggs! YUM). There's a bread bar, dessert bar, and ice cream too! Even if you just order the salad bar you won't go hungry. The entrees, though, are decent. It's a good place to go if you are tired and in a hurry. If you don't like to see people stuff their faces this is not a good choice.

Friday night long line to get in, but it moved very quickly. Excellent soup & salad bar, with a family friendly atmosphere. The place was packed, but the noise level was surprisingly low.

Came while out of town with my family of five. Salad bar was well stocked and very clean. Ordered two orders of tender tips medium well. They were so chewy me and my husband could not eat them. Waitress asked how our tender tips were and we said not good and not tender and she said oh ok and walked away. That was it never offered to recook them. I'm young and my teeth and jaw could not choke these things down. My husbands drink was empty half the visit and never got refilled. Definitely would not return again

Our family loved to go to Hoss's at the former location. The new one is a big disappointment. The atmosphere is simply unpleasant, the service was poor, and even some of our food was not properly cooked. We are sad that we've lost one of our favorite spots. We will definitely not be back.

Always dirty and crowded with a bunch of screaming kids, but you can't beat the great salad bar. Recommend you stay away from any of the "seafood" entrees, however. But you can't go wrong with the salad bar. Just get up there before the sick sneezing dude goes.
