The best diner breakfast I have ever had! The omelet special I ordered was cooked perfectly and the pumpkin pancake was one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted. The atmosphere was charming and fun. The only negative I can say is the service was a little slow but it was super friendly. If you go bring cash, they don't take credit cards.

Stopped in for breakfast based on the reviews here - and we weren't disappointed. Great little diner ambiance with coca cola theme all over. Staff were friendly and attentive. Seated quickly. Coffee was good. Skillet was great. As was the western omelet. Would come back again. And again and again.

My husband and I decided to try Fay's for breakfast on a Friday morning and received excellent service. I ordered the western skillet and he ordered the meat lover's skillet. The servings were plentiful and delicious! Probably one of the best breakfasts we've had at a restaurant in a while. The staff was friendly and service was quick. The atmosphere was that of a retro diner. Our expectations were exceeded. We will definitely be coming back again!

Fay's was awesome. Exactly what I was looking for! I stopped here on my way to visit a friend in town. She recommended I try Fay's. The food was great. Prices were wonderful. The OJ was in a comically small maybe 5 oz glass. Everything was cooked just how I wanted it. The "real maple syrup" was tasty and a nice touch. The buckwheat pancakes were good. Bacon was crispy. All was good. If you're in the area and looking for great, affordable, homestyle breakfast, definitely check out Fay's. You'll get what you came for and pay less than Cracker Barrel or some place similar.

My favorite breakfast place in our area. Love the atmosphere and personal attention the wait staff gives you.

My boyfriend and I come here as often we can. We recently moved out of state and have since been looking for a breakfast place like it to no avail. There is NO place like Fay's! It is exactly what you would want for a home style breakfast! Ally, I think her name is, the redhead, she is WONDERFUL and always remembers what we get! PS the meat lovers skillet is sooooo good

Fast, good food, decent-sized portions at a reasonable price. Our table was sticky and my coffee mug had a crusty bit of some sort on the outside, but our experience was otherwise enjoyable.

Loved the real maple syrup! Good skillets and ample portion sizes.

Not only a wonderful breakfast spot, they can easily host a large group! I learned about Fay's a year ago when I started helping with the plans for my daughter's wedding. We do not live in Carlisle, so I had not heard of Fay's. My friend (whose son graduated from Dickinson) told me about the best breakfast in Carlisle. Vickie (the owner) was so helpful when I reached out to her wondering if we could host our post wedding breakfast at Fay's. Vickie also helped me to order "Fay's Country Kitchen" mugs as part of our out of town gift bags. Well, the breakfast went off perfectly. The staff was amazing, they worked hard as we had approximately 60 people coming and going during two hours in the back area. They were very gracious when we were in their way talking and visiting. And of course the food was FANTASTIC! Wish I lived nearby so I could become a regular!

Quaint little corner spot in Carlisle. Great comfort food that reminds me of my grandmother's cooking from back in the day. If you're in the area, you owe it to yourself to eat here! *Cash or check only*

What a cute and hopping little place! Best and freshest tasting omelette that we have had in a long time! Great service! Highly recommended!

Stopped by and we got a couple omelets and the bananas foster pancakes. The food was amazing. Everything was prepared perfectly and the portions we so that I had dinner for later. The waitress was good but not the friendliest and the cash only policy is tough. You won't get a better breakfast in Carlisle just don't forget to hit up the ATM.

A pleasant surprise for a new breakfast joint with the family. Food was solid and a nice variety as well as the standards. What stuck out was the service and the "feel" of the entire establishment. Everyone was extremely friendly and it was even evident in the patrons- regulars to newbies. There was a short wait for a table as it was a packed house. Today, we were a party of 4. A lady came in after us (she was a single) and was seated before us (as the first available table was a 2-top.) She felt guilty for this and at the end if her meal, sent $10 over (anonymously) to contribute to our meal. She must have overheard my daughter telling me I could borrow her money a it is cash only and I didn't have a ton of cash. Neat local establishment where people take pride in the product they present. This is a place we'll visit again.

I love going here whenever I go back to Carlisle. The service is friendly, the skillets are amazing, the portions are huge--this place is as good as it gets for breakfast.

Never had a bad meal at Fay's! The layout is fun and bright, with some great Coca-Cola antiques throughout. The knotty pine walls give it a rustic feel, yet just a block from the main streets of Carlisle. Try the skillets for breakfast!

Horrible coffee, horrible breakfast foods, French toast that isn't French toast. It's pancake toast. Maybe I'm spoiled by cafe 101. Service was ok though. But I don't go out to eat for the service. Cash only.

Good home cooking. Fresh and Tasty. Excellent service. Homey, sunlit interior. Close to the courthouse . What's not to love? Oh... and the coffee is great! Wish I lived closer so I could go often.

I just moved here from the west coast and had seen this place driving by one day. I called my order in to go for me and my boyfriend. The lady on the phone didn't tell me it was cash only so when I arrived to pick up my food I only had my debit card. When I was told it was cash only I asked where I could pull out money. She just told me "it's a couple blocks up". Again I'm not from here so I have no idea where a couple blocks up is exactly. So I drove around one way couldn't find what she was talking about, turned around and drove the other way and found a bank by Walmart finally. By the time I got back to pay for it and got home to finally eat my food it was cold. I ordered the fiesta skillet and it wasn't anything to rave about and the toast was soggy. My boyfriend had the eggs Benedict and we also ordered the chip beef with biscuits and it was just okay. May try again one day.

I am new in the area. This was my first time here. They measured up to the positive reviews. Homey atmosphere good service, great food. I had to try the pumpkin pancakes and I am glad I did. Everything else was prepared great as well. I asked for crispy bacon and it was crispy!! I know you crispy lovers know that is hard to get at a lot of places due to how they cook the bacon. I will be a regular here.

OMGOODNESS. The BEST chocolate chip pancakes.ever. seriously... Very small place but the service is good and you don't get chocolate chip pancakes better then theirs! :)

Just ok. Good pancake and skillet choices, but got the impression that virtually everything comes out of a can. Asked for a side option other than home fries and toast, and was offered applesauce or tomato slices. I chose tomato slices and they were so pale and spongy I couldn't eat them. My husband said the ketchup had a strong vinegar taste. Only off brand pink stuff and sugar are available for coffee and jellies are some generic brand as well. Prices are what you'd expect in central Pa, but this establishment's attempts to cost cut are evident. The service was slow. First round of food was served cold after over a half hour wait. We won't go back.

My son enjoyed the pumpkin pancake special. They were perfect! The staff was so helpful even with my crying toddler who was hungry. I recommend the skillet, lots of veggies and ham with melted cheese on top. Definitely recommend. Lost one star because Parking is street side only. I had to go around the block once to find a spot. But food was worth it.

Great local place; the 'Cheers' of Carlisle. Good prices and hearty breakfast fare. Good coffee, friendly service, and they know how to cook their eggs...over easy to perfection!

Diner food nothing special. They don't take credit card! Who doesn't take credit card?? Coffee wasn't that great and food was so so. The locals love it but don't be fooled! It's just a diner that doesn't take credit card. Two stars for being cheap.

Solid breakfast/brunch option in Carlisle. Cute retro decor, friendly service. The prices are great for the large amount of food you get. The food itself is nothing special, in my opinion, neither was the coffee. The waitress asked if we wanted "whipped cream" on the pancakes, but they came out with globs of whipped topping. Do they think that's the same thing?

Love it. Skillets are amazing, also love the sausage they serve. Great coffee too. All-in-all a delicious breakfast location.

Came into Carlisle for the Spring Car show. First time I have come with my hubby, who has come to the shows for years with his brother and guy friends. This restaurant was a real GEM! Went early to beat the crowds and had a wonderful server, Maria who couldn't have been any more attentive! Our coffee was never less than 2/3rds full and was immediately filled. The Popeye omelet (filled with spinach, ham and cheese) was perfect- ordered it with extra feta, but really wasn't needed. Hubby ordered a few eggs and corned beef hash which was wonderful. All the meals come with home fries (which can be ordered without the onions, but I can't imagine why you would) FABULOUS!!! The jury is still out if I will come back to another car show, but the thought of having another wonderful breakfast at Fay's may make me say yes again!

If you serve breakfast all day, you better do it right. These guys certainly do! No matter where we looked on the interweb, Fay's kept floating to the top of the list. Their portions are generous and the service is good. Other reviews will confirm the bananas foster is like nothing else, and the ham slabs are gianormous. It is definitely worthy of a visit while on Carlisle. My only reservations is that all the good food could be fantastic if only the ingredients were better; the bananas foster French toast would be out of this world if they used a good sourdough bread and real carmel sauce the pancakes and waffles would SO benefit from real maple syrup instead of Aunt Jahfake-ahs. In fact, everything would be better with syrup from a tree, not a stalk. The tea selection is less than lipton's and the UHT half and halfs on the table could be replaced by fresh milk. The waffles were the clear winner, followed by the pancakes, followed by the French toast. And for whatever shortcomings were experienced, we all went away "fat and happy"!!!

Awesome. We took the family there and they were very helpful and fully staffed. They helped when we had a spill too. The skillets are amazingly good. Definitely get one if you stop here. We will be back again. Also their pancakes are huge but thin. They also have tons of flavors.

The cheapest breakfast spot EVER! All foods are homestyle cookin'. The best are their pancakes. Tons of selections to choose from, pumpkin, blueberry, peach, apple, banana foster.. the list is endless, not to mention the best part, you can buy one for around $2 or 3 for under $4!! You can also mix and match your selection of pancakes! Everything else is decent, you can get steak and eggs for $6.50! Egg benedicts for $6.50. Service is fast and everyone is super nice!

This diner is everything you would hope for in a breakfast diner. Prices are very reasonable and the service is extremely friendly and attentive. Hoping to have a morning after brunch for our wedding guests this summer here and the staff has already been very accommodating to the idea of giving us a space to meet with people. Cash only, ATM located very close.

Hidden American treasure right here. Everything you could want in a traditional breakfast spot with all the charm and smiling wait staff to make you feel at home. Right off the bat this place has hands down the best blueberry muffin I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying, it's baked in a unique way that makes the entire outside crispy and the inside just melts in your mouth, heavenly. We also ordered the Benedict, chipped beef (biscuits and gravy) and the regular breakfast special and were all more than pleased and completely full by the end. Best part is even with coffee, juice and and extra dollar for real maple syrup the bill was still under 40 bucks for 4 grown men. Can't wait to pass through Carlisle again!

Quality of the food is better than you might expect for a country breakfast and lunch joint. I had a sandwich and the ham and chicken were both cut from nicely roasted larger pieces of meat; not cold cuts from some deli supply store. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Layout isn't like a typical diner (no chrome, no booths), just one big room with two levels in the corner of a building. Lollipops for the kids at the cash register is also a nice touch.

First time in Carisle and went here with some friends. The place was packed on this Saturday morning (like it always is apparently) but a table was quickly cleared off so we could eat. The food was really good, just what you expect from a place like this. I had a standard breakfast of eggs, toast and pancakes but everything on the menu is very good. Only negative is they only take cash so hit up the ATM before arriving.

I stopped by Dickinson College last April on my way to Penn State to say hi to friends and enjoy dinner in Carlisle. The next morning, I needed breakfast to energize me for the drive to State College. Everyone recommended Fay's and I didn't have a hard time finding it. I parked, walked in, was seated. Servers (Leilani and Emily) were great to deal with. I ordered one of Fay's breakfast specials (see photos) which had a robust slice of ham from Martin's Meats (from Lancaster, Pennsylvania), eggs, hash browns, and buttery, buttery toast. Not sure if it energized me (I must have had a food coma) but it was ridiculously good. Look at my photos to see how THICK the ham slice was. Highly recommended.

Get a taste of classic Carlisle here. Normally pretty busy and parking can be tough. The pancakes are delicious and enough to bring home left overs for the afternoon.

Fay's is often my go-to place on a Sunday morning for a big heaping plate of YUMMMMM. This weekend was no exception. With a friend in town in need of some food, I drove us to Fay's and we were seated immediately after entering. Great eggs benedict and delicious homefries (you choose if you want onions in them or not). I personally think their coffee is good, despite the last review. I have never heard anyone complain about a meal here.
