Finally convinced my husband to try this place and it was worth the visit. Best part of the evening was our server Cray. She was just the right amount of attentive - made sure we always had a drink, suggested we try the country fries which were excellent and didn't hover over us plus she got our orders right! Only slightly negative issue was with the country fries. They are more like chips than fries and the serving was on the small side - 6 or 7 fries each. We were a party of 3 and we each ordered burgers with the country fries. Can't comment on any other type of food but our meals were done just how we asked. A guest at another table had order ribs and he seemed very happy with his meal. The ribs looked like something from the tv show The Flintstones - they were hanging over the plate. Will either go back on a Saturday to try the prime rib or any other night to try the ribs.

Ok place to have food. Service was slow as it only had one waitress Supposedly the Cheese Steak should be one of their best dishes. But it was ok. I had better Cheese Steak from a dorm restaurant back in college. Everything else was OK.

We had a great waitress at Woodys n our food was quite good. Salads so fresh n their house dressing, poppyseed, was wonderful! I had chicken parm, which was a little bland, but a sprinkle of hot pepper flakes made it perfect. My husband had a pasta n seafood dish, which also needed a little pepper n some salt too. So note to chef - a little more seasoning please! The building was a lifeless. Were it not for a small sign in one window that said Open, we mightve thought they were closed, or even closed up. It was also not obvious which door was the entrance n when we did find it, the tiny lobby was dark and uninviting. There was a separate room for the bar and unfortunately there was some loudmouth in there with a laugh that was constant and irritating. Soooo, all in all i definitely think this place is worth a stop but it could easily do a bit to improve itself.

Awesome burgers... tell them to go light on the mayo. We stopped here on a drive cross country and this was so much better than highway food. It seems super local dive bar from the outside but the inside is the real deal. Friendly people and a great vibe. Recommend.

Another trip to Woody's warrants an upgrade from 3.5 to 4 stars. I had one of the best cheese steaks I've ever tasted. On top of that, the Yuengling drafts were coming in at $2.25. Hooray for Woody's! Location - 3 stars Price - 5 stars Atmosphere - 3 stars Food - 4 stars Staff - 4 stars

Great food! Loved the BBQ ribs and the freshest bread in town. Very friendly employees! Will definitely return here on our next trip!

Great food, Absolutely horrible service. The food is good pub grub at a decent price. I had what was probably the best grilled cheese I've ever had. Apparently the owner (who is also a cook there) bakes the bread for the restaurant every morning, and you can tell it's legit. It's really good, thick and crusty homemade bread. The service, however, was probably the worst I've ever experienced. I sat for 10 minutes at my table before physically getting up and finding a waitress to ask for a menu. That's right, I actually had to ask for a menu!! Waited another 10 minutes to order drinks and food and then another 15 minutes before one of the servers came with my drink saying "This is yours right?" There were two servers working there. One was nice but she was busy with some sort of special event happening in the next dining area. She was constantly apologizing to me for the slow service. The other one clearly didn't give a shit that I was there and served literally everyone else in the non-special event dining area but me, and she was still very slow, and terrible. One of the other customers actually went to knock on the kitchen door to get sour cream for his baked potato because she never brought it to him. Seriously, it's one thing to be a little slow because of a special party happening in the restaurant, but to blatantly ignore the other customers is inexcusable. This restaurant really needs to step its game up in terms of its service. I was assured by a local elderly couple at the table next to mine that the service isn't usually that bad, so maybe I'll come back. Maybe.

Came here after Tough Mudder. There were only 7 other tables for 4 servers, but the service was still exceptionally slow. We ordered our food (2 burgers, pierogies, and a quesadilla). It literally took half an hour for all the food to come out. We were starving, but whatever. The fries are the cheaper version that are coated in oil. Definitely not good steak fries. The burger I had was obviously previously frozen and was super dry. Thank god I got BBQ sauce. The seats in the "Booth" would shake each time the person behind me would sit down. Everyone there was very very polite though and the price is alright.

I second Amber's review below. Out of the very few places there are around this area to actually get dinner, they shouldn't be turning people away from business. Literally walked in the door and the couple in front of me was getting the speech about how "we just got really busy and the wait is going to be very long. You should try Murphy's down the street". Well that's where I went also... smh. I hope the owner reads these reviews because if it's just his flighty waitstaff turning away his business, he needs to get with the program.

Had wings, ribs, salad, and chicken carbonara. All were pretty fresh and good. Everything is made in the kitchen, even the bread they serve. I peeked over at another table's food and the frech onion soup looked divine. The atmosphere is very country like home cooked. They're going to start Texas hold'em nights starting May 31st.

Food is great. Beer is great. Everything is inexpensive compared to the NYC area. Had a great meal, drinks for 2 for under 40 dollars.

Went in on a Saturday evening. We were told as we came in, they were busy, we can be seated, but could not order food for 30 minutes. We could order drinks. We were ok with this, both of us have worked in restaurants before and have eaten at plenty. We were pleased with the wait staff being up front with us. 30 minutes was doable. While waiting to order, we were given a basket of home made bread. The bread was great. Once we were given the ok to order food, out appetizers came out in reasonable time. The Texas Toothpics were great. Our salads had home made croutons. The house dressing was good. When our food came out to the table. Hot! I had the seafood fra diablo, the seafood was cooked perfectly. My wife had chicken carbonara, the chicken was tender and the broccoli & bacon were cooked perfectly. We were told that by our waitress that everything is home made. And only two people in the kitchen doing all of the cooking, with not much workspace in the kitchen. The quality of our meals made up for the wait for us to order. This is deffinetly palace to visit again. Well worth the trip.

Would like to give this more because the food was great, well the soups because that was all we made it to. After an hour of waiting for our food and after seeing two other group tables come and eat, we ended up leaving. We were told as we requested our check that an entire tray of good was dropped in the kitchen, okay fair enough but at least tell your customers before they get annoyed and leave.

I found out about Woody's from Yelp, so we decided to try it out. We were not disappointed. For starters, two of us ordered the clam chowder and another ordered the chili. The chili had a nice layer of melted cheese, while the clam chowder was also very good. I ordered a Bacon Cheese Steak, while another ordered their cheese steak special. My father ordered a Bacon cheeseburger. The cheese steaks were really better than anything I've gotten in Philly. The steak was tasty and the cheese was very nicely melted. My father's burger was also very good. One tip though, order the French fries instead of the chips. The fries are delicious while the chips are just Lays. We are excited for our return visit.

Surprisingly a legit place in the middle of nowhere Poconos. We had the cheesesteak, clam chowder, and french onion soup. It was all really good. The place doesn't look like much, but the service was good and the food was great. Definitely a diamond in the rough.

Horrible place. Waited 20 minutes for our menus. Lady from the bar came over and told us they have to turn people away bc it got unexpectedly busy. It was a Thursday night and they only had one waitress for the whole restaurant and bar. Very disappointed.

Food was great. We were very happy with food and service. Ambiance is ok. Got steaks, salmon, pasta and soups (clam chowder is excellent) and everyone was really happy with their meals. We would definitely eat here again.

Went to woody's this evening based on the better than average reviews I read on Yelp. First impressions are of a rustic location where you are met by friendly smokers out on the deck entering the restaurant. We were seated and greeted promptly and served our drinks right away our server was knowledgable and friendly. We ordered our food but the server did not walk away with a clear understanding of what we ordered. Tried writing everything instead of listening. An extra baked potato was served and a side order of pasta was not served. The waiter was apologetic and quickly rectified the problem. As to the quality of the food the ribs were very good but the chicken breasts were tough. In summary it was a friendly Nascar environment with mixed reviews on the food. Reasonable prices.

From the outside it really looks like a bar but they have two large back rooms for dining. My daughter had the chicken marsala with a side of steamed broccoli, Not spectacular but tender chicken breast and plenty of mushrooms. It was a bit too heavy on the marsala wine but good. My son had a full rack of ribs with a baked potato and a salad, all solid. My husband and I had burgers which were excellent. Service was quick but it was pretty empty. Would definitely go back. PS Draft beers were under $3 Seemed like lots of locals go and definitely a place for families especially with the $10 specials on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Visited Woody's while vacationing at Willowbrook in Split Rock Resort. Took a bit of looking to find it, but well worth the effort. After reading the reviews my wife and I ordered the clam chowder and shared a cheese steak sandwich and an order of crab cakes. I like clam chowder, order it often, and this may be the best I've ever had. The waitress said she hears that a lot, and I believe it. The cheese steak and crab cakes were also very good. The service was friendly and timely. If I'm ever back in the Poconos I'll make a point of eating here.

My son loved his bacon cheese steak and husband had a flounder stuffed with crab. The fish price was a little steep for the size and presentation (in a bar on white industrial china) but it tasted fantastic. Other son had a chicken quesadilla. Looked like it should have been amazing but they used a weird cheese...guessing a soft pack cheese of some sort, not cheese wiz but something else. It tasted odd and no one liked it. Cup of gumbo soup was great. I'll sure go back, but skip the quesadilla.

soooooooo goood! Friends and I ate here for our final night of vacation this summer. Jeremiah said that the french onion soup was better than his wife's, I thought the homemade soft bread was to die for and Gretchen said that her meal was "the best da-damn steak I've ever had". Go here!

Crab Au Gratin... Oh My God!!! And the crab stuffed shrimp was great as well... I know several have said this, but don't be fooled by the outside!!! Go in and enjoy... from soup to entree, the food was excellent!!!

Great chowda! Fun local place with friendly service (Casey). Had some beers, wings, chowda, and chili. All were good and we'll worth the visit. A nice surprise in a rural area. Fun cast of characters at the bar!

This place really shocked me, because I was expecting to be disappointed and I ended up enjoying everything. The food is remarkably good. I've tried several different things over the course of a couple months and it's all very good. I definitely recommend the crabcakes and the cheesesteak, but really everything is tasty. The employees are all polite, friendly, and helpful. I guess the only thing I can say that was a little negative is that they usually leave a big head on the beer, meaning that you get a little less than you should, but that's pretty minor compared to the quality of everything else.

We were looking for a place to eat while on a ski vacation in Blakeslee. After reading some yelp reviews we decided to try Woody's. What looks like a dive bar on the outside is actually a quaint mom and pop comfort food restaurant that delivered well beyond our expectations. We were a party of 7 and everything we ate was really good. From prime rib, to lobster mac& cheese, to chili and the french onion soup everything really delighted us. The waitress was very friendly and fantastic. Also try the Lion's Head beer which is from a local Scranton brewery! Would definitely go back!

We were in the Pocono's for 10 days, and ate here 3 times. I am already going through Woody withdrawls. That should say something about the food. First off, I'm in MI and we don't really have any great Philly cheese steaks, so my opinion might be a little off. All 3 meals, my husband and I got the cheese steak with bacon, onions and hot peppers. The roll was perfect, it was soft, yet chewy and was able to soak up some of the cheesy grease. We were surprised to find that the fries were some of the best we have had. They were battered and very crisp. All of the food came out of the kitchen pipping hot, even the night we were there and it was really busy. They have a separate door for the dining room, and since it looks like a bar from the outside I was worried about if my kids could go in. They must be used to kids because they had high chairs, crayons and coloring books, and even a kids section on the menu. The kids tried the chicken fingers basket and the chicken was really good. The amount of food they gave the kids was crazy, as it was more of an adult sized basket. From there out, the kids just split a basket. They also had a cheeseburger that was really well seasoned, and a different kind of bun. It wasn't your typical bun, but it was excellent with the burger. The last night, the kids just got a cheese steak with cheese. I tried it and found it bland, but I had been eating the cheese steaks with onions, hot peppers and bacon. Even though we loved their food, I only gave them 4 stars. They lost a star for the hot artichoke and spinach dip that was just ok. It didn't come with many tortilla chips and we ran out of chips way before we ran out of dip. We asked for some more chips and were told it would be an additional charge.

Went there with my family and greatly enjoyed it. Don't let the outside fool you! The wait staff was extremely nice and helpful. The rib meat was falling off the bones! The bread is made fresh! I would definitely go back!

Went to Woody's while on vacation in the Poconos on June 6. This place is wonderful! We had trouble finding the place, so ended up arriving mere minutes before their kitchen was supposed to close. Despite this, we were given excellent, patient service from Dan. We had seen on the web site that they had special Monday/Wednesday deals, but they weren't on the menu. When we asked, we immediately received the "super secret" deals menu sheet. Our food was really good, too. The clam chowder was thick and rich, full of clams and potatoes and with wonderful flavor. The salmon salad, which I ordered with the poppyseed dressing, was delicious - nice fresh veg and the salmon was cooked perfectly and was very moist. Spouse's BBQ ribs and fries were tasty too - we couldn't finish everything, but they reheated nicely as part of dinner the next evening at our resort.

I can't believe we waited 2 years to come to dinner here!! We had the best dinner by far here in poconos!!! The waitress Casie was Awesome!!! We asked what she recommended for dinner and gave us tons of options. I ended up with shrimp and scallops in a vodka sauce and was to die for!!! My husband got chicken franchise with jumbo lump crabmeat and was very delicious. I also have to mention another waitress Heather! She was super nice too!! I can't to bring our friends back for dinner too!!! Definitely as place not to pass up!!'n

First, don't look at that address given above...that must be their billing address. This place is just north of the raceway on 115. I give it a full 5 stars because this place is what it is. A down-home, friendly bar filled with regulars that seem to have a blast. The cheesesteak and clam chowder I had were top-notch and the prices are very reasonable. I ended up spending a lot more time here than I planned and will definitely head back here again.

Decided to come here after an event nearby based on the high reviews. Well, what a key down. We were a party of 7, but the restaurant was fairly empty on a Saturday at 2pm. We ordered burgers, and the waitress was very nice. An hour later, however, we had still not been served. I realize things might roll a bit slower in the Poconos, but come on. The table next to us experienced similar, and after they complained a third table up and left before ordering after realizing what they were in for. The waitress then apologized for being understaffed, but like I said, the place was basically empty. The food itself was OK. Fries were quite good, burgers were average. Wouldn't return.

Woody's Country house surprised me, in a disappointing way. We decided to go here because of all the great reviews on Yelp, but it didn't live up to our expectations (or the reviews!). We arrived and it was fairly empty, and our service was pretty decent. However, the food was simply mediocre. I had a burger and it was unexciting -- the fries were bland and the burger was as well. My wife had unmemorable soup, and my mother an unmemorable sandwich. We really wanted to enjoy the place because it is so close to where we live, but the real disappointment wasn't the food (which wasn't good, but also wasn't bad). The real disappointment was the price. We had a significant discount (yelp check in!), but it still wasn't worth what we got. Blakeslee really needs some great restaurants, and I was hoping Woody's was that, but sadly... its not (or at least, it wasn't that time!).

Amazing family place for dinner. My husband and I were scared at the first, because we read so many bad reviews. But we really liked the restaurant, and waiting staff are so sweet. We had baby back ribs and hamburger, food was pretty good, I would definitely recommend it.

One of the worst places I've eaten at. Service was poor as was the quality of the food. Extremely disappointing especially due to the average 4 stars yelp gave it. Something is really amiss with this situation.
