When I'm in the Bethlehem area, I find myself gravitating towards Dave's Deli, for the Twisted Turkey! I absolutely devour the toasted pretzel bun... which can be paired with any sandwich at no extra cost. I always end with a nice cup gelato... They have got several flavors each time I have come here. Although I wish pistachio flavor was offered more often. The staff is great, always pleasant. Clean & vibrant place... With enough tables to seat 40 people (each table has 4seats). Good plave to have an relaxed/informal business meeting (without having to yell at each other). Also have used their catering service which was great... Options, service, delivery & presentation. My customers loved it! Sooo much better than Isaac's (which is hit-or-miss, and can get pricey). Dave's is a little pricey... But hey I guess it's worth it if I keep coming back!

Great food and service! I have been coming here since they opened this location (They have 2 in the valley) and have never had a bad sandwich. It's a bit pricey, but definately worth it. Five-Stars well deserved! My recommendation is the Chicken ranchero(add Cajun Mayo). Dave's has a great selection of sandwiches and something that everyone will love. Pickle included with every sandwich-and man are they gooooood!

Probably the best deli sandwiches I've had in the Valley, if not, anywhere. Meat is fresh and sliced super thin, bread is fresh, so are veggies. They're efficient and always busy. When I want a sandwich, this is my go-to place. Good turkey reubens!

This place is just okay. I'm on a mission to try new places for lunch and I'd never been to Dave's Deli (though I've had a chance to munch off a sandwich tray or two leftover from customer visits). So I headed that way for lunch yesterday. At 11:30, they were already kind of busy putting together called in orders. I waited a few minutes before I could put my order in, and about 7 or 8 minutes before my sandwich came out. I went with the Buffalo Chicken sandwich...freshly sliced chicken with cheese, buffalo sauce, blue cheese dressing, onions & lettuce. It came with a pickle wrapped up beside it. I really liked the toasty French bread and the meat & cheese were high quality, but the blue cheese dressing kind of ruined it. Tasted like cheapo Kraft dressing. The portions are reasonable for the price (I got two lunches out of my $7 sandwich) But there are lots of other delis that can beat them for the price that I like better (a dollar or more savings).

You will love it! The sandwichs are amazing, all Boars Head, fabulous bread, fresh veggies and really nicely seasoned sauces in good base, cheese & sauce combinations. Its off the beaten path but not out of the way and can be seen from 22, just drive around the bend and past Wegmans where you will find it to your right. When we go we always finish a meal with a bit of the gelato which is amazing. I love that they will let you sample the flavors before commiting. Last time I was there my friend tasted about 6 before settling on a large with 3 different flavors. They make cakes that are to die for. Recently they started to build a catering side of the family business and that food is great too. I guess you could say we are long time fans and will be back, what else do you do with fabulous

My co-workers at Lehigh University and I love this place! I hope it lasts at the ill-fated LU location by campus square, which has seen its share of sandwich shops come and go. Dave's has great food and great service. The sandwiches are AMAZING, and fairly cheap, too. My personal favorite is the Jason's Favorite, which is delicious. The gelato makes for a unique and tasty dessert, and the staff is always friendly about letting you try lots of samples. Definitely recommend this place!

Not bad at all! It's really nice to have a deli that's open so late (3 AM some nights, I believe?), especially for college students like me. The sandwiches here taste great from what I've experienced. Dave's always seems to draw a crowd around lunchtime. I've found myself coming here many a time if my schedule throws me off and I can't catch a meal at the diring hall. The location and hours are very convenient for students. And I've always had very solid customer service. Four stars because, as other reviewers have pointed out, the sandwiches are more expensive than what you'll find elsewhere. Also, the lack of vegetarian menu items is a turnoff for me (although I'm sure they'll let you mix and match or substitute; I doubt they'll take off from the price, though).

That cajun chicken wrap rocked my world! I'm still thinking about it a week later. In fact, it was probably the best thing I ate while in the area. Now if I can just get someone to bring one to Atlanta for me...

If you eat Gelato for lunch this place would rock. If you want a great bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup, go home. the worst soup i have ever tasted. actually it has no taste or anything else. Wraps? how hard is a wrap. that is cheap food for a big price. he has to cover everything in thousand island dressing because his food is horrible.

WOW! Why have t we been here before! From the minute we walked in to a very clean smelling deli we were impressed! Very happy to have found a deli that sells Boars Head Products! Our sandwiches were delicious. Both bread and produce were fresh and delicious! Price was great, my daughters split a French hoagie roll, I got a small kaiser roll sandwich, we split chips and 2 drinks, the bill was only $16!!! We actually took half the hoagie home! Definitely going to frequent this deli!

Kind of disappointed. Roast beef, which is normally rare and juicy was brown and seriously dry. Portions skimpy. This was our go-to spot for deli but they may be cut.

Good stuff. Great sandwiches. Stay away from the potato salad, it is bland and gross (sorry Dave's deli). I love them however. Reminds me of a genuine New York deli (I grew up there) and their sandwiches back it up. I highly recommend.

I've never eaten the deli food, but the gelato here is the best in the Lehigh Valley.

This review is for the Campus Square location in South Bethlehem. Yay....yet another moderately pricey sandwich shop in the University Square corner. First came Quiznos, then came something called Sandwich Garden, and here's...... Dave's. Pros: - Nice sandwiches with good meats and other ingredients - Quick service - Clean decor Con: - Expensive for something that's supposed to cater to college students - Small sandwiches that will leave you hungry unless you double the meat (for a few dollars more). So what's my problem with Dave's, or for that matter, the University Square corner in general? On another separate forum, I responded to someone who wished to to open a restaurant in South Bethlehem with a rant about how the tenants at this location just don't get it. See...the gold standard here is Goosey Gander, located just a block away. They get that students don't really care about fancy ingredients in their food. No; they simply want big, filling, and delicious portions of food at reasonable prices. Just watch any food show that travels to a college town, and one theme inevitably arises: big portions of greasy food. It's no secret why this theme keeps repeating: young college students have big appetites, and they don't want to pay too much to satiate it. Of the three tenants that have graced this corner, Quiznos "got it" the best, if you can call it that. I wouldn't - they were simply following the same franchise strategy that every other Quiznos was following. I think they were supposed to compete with the Subway just down the street, but they failed because they couldn't measure up to their competition in terms of prices. It was more of a franchise concept failure at a specific location more than anything. A couple of years back, something called Sandwich Garden opened up at this location after Quiznos left. I went there once at 12 noon, and I received a decent gyro sandwich. I also happened to be pretty much the only customer there, at the heart of the lunch hour. Another concept that's not too hard to understand: if you don't have any lunch crowd, and you're supposedly a lunch place, then you might as well pack up your bags early before your lease runs out. And finally, Dave's. The main difference between Sandwich Garden and Dave's is this: Dave's serves gelato. People seem to like their gelato; I wouldn't know, since gelato's not my cup of tea. What I do know is that their sandwich-side of the business is following the same doomed path that Sandwich Garden failed with - that is, boasting about your premium ingredients (Boar's Head meat, home-made sauce, and the like) while charging an arm and a leg for your sandwiches (relatively speaking, of course). Gee.....ya wonder why this strategy keeps failing, yet you keep plugging away at it, eh? Now the positives: the food is actually pretty good, however much you get of it. I bought a Reuben sandwich, and it was very tasty. So I really can't complain about the quality of what they serve. Now the negatives, again. The sandwich was pretty small - it was enough to ease my hunger pangs for a couple of hours, tops. And it cost me $7. The other reviewer claims the prices are "fairly cheap". Everything is relative, and around the Lehigh University and South Bethlehem neighborhood, it is definitely not "fairly cheap" relative to the other options in the area. Everything aside, I think it's fair that I rate Dave's with three stars. The food is pretty good for however much you get. And although people aren't exactly beating down its doors to get in, it appears to host a larger crowd than the ill-fated Sandwich Garden ever received. Whatever reason for this - the gelato, the sandwiches - Dave's appears to be thriving for now.
