Went there Thursday night, walked in and one of the waitress told us to seat ourselves. We sat at a table for 20 minutes and a waiter and waitress served tables near us but ignored us. The waitress even would touch the empty chair at our table to get through. After 20 minutes I got up and left.

Wow, surprised by the amount of hate for this place. Seems like a lot of reviewers opened up Yelp accounts just to spread the hate for Bar Louie. I've been here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Two completely different situations and the service and food was really good both times. First, I think it's really cool how they have so many different places to sit. For lunch, they told us to sit wherever we wanted. There was the bar, big tables, small tables, bar tables, couches and outdoor tables, so it caters to a lot of different tastes. We sat outside and I had the meatball sub which was really good, fresh and made the way I think most people expect a meatball sub to be made. No crazy expectations there. My friend had a salad that didn't come with blackened shrimp, but when she asked for it, they added it on no problem and gave her a ton of them! Server was friendly and attentive. There were even managers walking around asking how things were. Second visit was a week later for dinner. It was around 830-9pm and the place was jammed. Lots of people all over, lots of staff on hand and again, great service and food. Our server was friendly and even though a completely different person brought over or drinks and another our food, who cares? It was efficient and it worked! Why would that be a negative for someone? I had the Blue Louie burger (bacon, blue cheese, hot sauce) and it was awesome. My friend got her same salad with blackened shrimp, no issues there, my other friend got some chicken parm sliders but they brought him salmon sliders instead, but he didn't care and said they were awesome. My girlfriend ordered a tasty chicken sandwich and my friend's husband could not stop raving about his pulled pork sandwich. They must be doing something right because they have over 90 locations in the U.S. and they are looking to open another one up in Willow Grove. As you can see, whether it was a slow lunch shift or a busy dinner shift, we got great service both times with friendly staff. I don't get all the hate, maybe it's expectations. Sorry for the long winded review, but I had to tell it like it is, at least from my perspective. I'll be back to Bar Louie and if they open one in WG, which is closer to me, I'll go there too. Fin.

I have been to Bar Louie a few times in the past year, and they have gotten consistently better and better! Especially recently... My last visit was amazing.. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar and were promptly greeted and told about the specials. The bartenders were friendly, efficient, and made us some delicious drinks!! I had the Effen Good cucumber martini and it lived up to its name! Our food was great, the service was great, we have absolutely no complaints and will be back very soon!!!

The service here, has a lot to be desired, My friend and I were seated at a booth. Nobody came to check on us, or ask if we wanted to place a drink order. A young female employee walked past our booth (preoccupied) I had to raise my voice just to get her attention, finally she came over and told us she would get our waitress She apparently thought about it, then asked if wanted to place a drink or app order....We did Then came AMANDA our savior/waitress she is bright, intelligent and absolutely knows her job.... Made sure our order was right, and continuously checked on us Amanda is what you should look for in an employee. TOP NOTCH! FYI , the Asian female with the blonde hair needs customer sensitivity training, and needs learn proper etiquette behind a bar.. hair flipping while making drinks isn't cute, or classy 2 stars for Amanda one star for the food

Well, being that Bar Louie has a 2 1/2 star rating and given my son's warning, I ended up being pleasantly surprised with my first dinning experience ! My friends and I arrived after 2pm. There were a few people at the bar and only a few tables filled both in and outside. After seating ourselves, we were greeted by our server Donna, who was FABULOUS!! She gave us a run through of both food and drink additions along with recommendations, which was very helpful! Our cocktails and appetizer platter of hummus, veggies, and pita were all delicious! Our meals included : Ahi Tuna Steak on a roll with tater tots , Chicken Tuscan Pasta, and Ginger Shrimp Lettuce Wraps - all platters were prepared perfectly! After our meal, I spoke to Donna about how surprised I was by the negative reviews that I read on Yelp and for that reason, I was apprehensive to try Bar Louie. She was very appreciative of our positive comments!! We also spoke to Ben, the manager for Bar Louie. Again, I expressed how pleased we were with Donna's service along with the great food and cocktails. I did comment that there were only 2 servers working and being that it was a Friday and Happy Hour was soon approaching, things could get pretty hectic both on the floor and in the kitchen, which could have a negative impact on the service and make for some unhappy customers and more negative Yelp reviews. It seems from reading the reviews that many customers were unhappy with the length of time they had to wait for their food to be served, which for us was not an issue but then again, the place was not busy! I plan to return for $5 burger night , which I heard is a very busy night and often a wait!! I will review after burger night to see if I'm just as happy as I was today! I hope all works out for Bar Louie and the people who had a bad experience give the place another shot - I think Bar Louie is worth a second chance!! I highly recommend that you request Donna for your server !!!!

Food is ok.... But over the last times I went my food came out wrong with things missing and it was cold. Was sent back came back wrong again Go to Dog & Bull in Croydon all the food is freshly made the burgers are award winning and they have craft beers, seasonal beers, and drinks the food and drinks and priced well.

So we tried this place tonight and it was extremely depressing. We walked in an were greater by no one. The guy behind the bar told us to sit anywhere. So we walked by some tables that needed cleaning and found a clean table. Service was incredibly slow and they were far from busy. The food was so-so, nothing special and it came out warm. A rather depressing place...won't be going back!

We called ahead for outside seating reservations for 7:30 pm. When we arrived we were told it should only be a few minutes as the party paid their check and should be leaving soon. After waiting a while, they told us we can sit at an inside table until outside was ready. It took the server a while to take our order for drinks. Again, waiting for her to come back with them, we had been there about 30 minutes already. When we finally decided to leave, we looked for a Manager, to advise them of the dissatisfaction and there was no one around. Needless to say, I wont be returning there anytime soon.

My husband and I stopped in for dinner last Saturday night. We walked in and no one greeted us at the door, nor were there any signs telling us to seat ourselves or wait to be seated, etc. So we asked a young girl that waked by and gave a snarky "sit where you want". So we sat and waited for 20 mins to be greeted by a waitress, followed by another 15 mins to get our drinks and get our order taken. What shouldve been 45 mins for a nice dinner in a not so busy restaurant turned into over 2 hours for lousy service and even worse food. Honestly how hard is it to cook a burger well done and make tacos? The place is beautiful inside no doubt but the food sucked, and the service lacks majorly. We also waited another 20 mins to receive our check and we could see our waitress in the kitchen throwing things at other people. We will not be returning.

I went on a five dollar burger night with a friend of mine the burgers were good but the normal price of them I believe is a little high. I also ordered the calamari which although tasted okay was extremely overpriced for how much I got. A lot of their stuff on the menu seems to be pretty high in price. Also it took a little while for the food to come out we were sitting there for a good 45 minutes before we got or burgers but the girl serving us was nice and friendly and she's pretty cute so that made up for the wait. If I was asked to come back here again I probably would only do it on the burger special night because I honestly don't think that the amount of food for the price you pay is adequate

I expected better. The plus to this dining experience was the free app we received when I signed on to their site. We ordered the calamari, and was happy it was free b/c there was not a lot (although it tasted fine) and the dipping sauce tasted like BBQ sauce. My dinner was the Philly burger. It was burnt and the mushrooms were not recognizable. The fries had a hint of lime, not sure why because it did not add to the taste. My husband said his beer tasted watered down (Dos Equis) but his chicken sandwich was good. It seemed as though there was a long wait for dinner and an even longer one for other patrons. Surprising because there were many empty tables at 7pm. Next time, my money gets spent elsewhere.

I've been here twice, the first time was with a group of girls, it was nice out and we sat outside, which was very nice. Waitress was BAD, food not good, but the chocolate cake was AMAZING. Second time was with my fiancé, service was fair, martinis okay but expensive, food not good at all except for the Jack Daniel's cake was AMAZING. But who goes to a martini bar for dessert? Therefore I'll never go back, food sucks

In one word... mediocre. I visited Bar Louie this evening with three girlfriends for a ladies night out. The place itself is very nice looking, new and fresh and the outside seating area was nice although not much of a view but I guess you can't expect "a view" when in Bensalem, PA. Our server was pleasant but certainly not very engaging or dynamic. I noticed that some of the servers seemed to have their long hair down and a couple were dressed in very short shorts and tiny shirts. A little more professional would have made the place look a bit more upscale. We ordered the pretzels and the spinach dip for appetizers. I would say they were both OK. Nothing exciting, I probably wouldn't get those same apps again. I had the pulled pork sandwich and a Caesar salad for dinner both of which I split with my cousin. I thought the pork was quite good, very flavorful and you have the option of ordering tater tots instead of fries which was kind of cute. My sister had a grilled chicken sandwich and it looked good and was served on a nice grainy bread. The Caesar salad was fine but nothing out of the ordinary. I had a margarita and it was OK, not exceptionally tasty but it turns out it was $10! I didn't see prices on the drink menu and no one wants to be the jerk who asks. $10 in my opinion was a bit much, I think if it had been a little tastier, I might not have minded as much. My cousin had the Louie sangria, also $10. Meh. The bill for three people who were eating and only five drinks was $102. I thought that was a bit much for the quality of the food and drink. Again, while nothing was terrible, nothing was great either. I might go back, it certainly wasn't a bad experience but it wouldn't be a place I'd be trying to get to again quickly, more of a place I would go to if it was the most convenient place around. Bar Louie is a perfect example of mediocrity with a slightly excessive price tag.

I really wanted to give this place a chance because they are new and I like the atmosphere. This place is seat yourself, which is problematic because it takes a waitress 20 minutes before she realizes you've sat down. I came here the first week for lunch with coworkers and the service was slow but we blamed it on it being opening week. The food was okay, but took forever to come out (we ended up having to get it to go because our lunch break was going past an hour and a half waiting for food) but the drinks were good and we liked sitting outside. The second time I came here was a disaster. Me and a coworker came after work for a few drinks and some apps. It was at least 25 mins before someone came over... There was still payment on the table and dirty dishes from the last guests. Once that was cleared up we put in our food and drinks right away. Another 25 mins passed and we didn't even get our drinks. A different waitress came over with one beer asking if it was ours, but since there was two of us and we ordered 2 beers, and she didn't even know which one she had, she walked away. We told her that we had been waiting for a long time and she said, "well its happy hour so we're busy." I felt like that was pretty rude. This is a new place and you want your customers to come back but we couldn't even get a proper beer or a smile from the wait staff. We ended up walking out. We never saw our waitress or a manager come by. We walked across the street to Uno's and sat at the bar and had a great experience. DO NOT go to this place if you want prompt service or beers after work.

We have been to Bar Louie a few times. Each time was very good until now. One of us ordered a salad with grilled mushroms & chicken, it was very light on both. I ordered my usual, Voodoo Chicken. The portion was 1/3 smaller than I remember, but the price is still the same. Now, this is where it really went down hill. At end of our meal we ordered decaf coffee & our waiter, Amair (sorry if spelled incorrectly) who was top notch informed us that the restaurant was out of decaf. Are you kidding me out of decaf on Mothers Day weekend?

My boyfriend and I have been here multiple times and we've always had a great time. We always sit at the bar, so I can't speak for the other reviews that complain about service that's not so prompt by the staff at the tables. Every item we've ordered off the food menu was delicious! I usually get the mussels, listed as an appetizer BC it is so flavorful, but I've also had the blackened fish tacos and they're also amazing. Very authentic shells. My boyfriend has gotten burgers, chicken tacos, and some dish we remember as Mexican sunrise... We know it had egg in it and it was, well, Mexican flavored. No complaint there. I've ordered a drink or two off the menu but I wasn't impressed so and it's a bit high so I haven't ventured into trying more options there. We also love craft beer but we would love to see more of a selection of IPA's!

The only way I can describe the Bleu Louie burger at Bar Louie is that the experience of mouth meeting burger is like Hendrix meeting guitar. Instant magic. If you don't order this, you deserve to get your toenails removed by rusty pliers. The beer list is quite fantastic. I checked it once, then checked it twice, and couldn't decide if it was a night to be naughty or nice. Ultimately, I went with Sam Adams because picking a beer was just such a tough call! As for the service.. Well, intense love does not measure it just gives. Once upon a time, this was said about Mother Teresa, but it's never applied to someone as well as our waitress, wait, I mean our friend, Jessica. Funny, beautiful, charming, quick to serve...does somebody have a thesaurus HA! When my friends began to tease me about my awkward and uncomfortable behavior, she stood up for me...need I say more about this girl! If you go to Bar Louie, you're in for a 5-star experience. If Jessica is leading your dining experience, you're gonna wish Yelp had an extra star!

If you're looking for a great spot to go to on a beautiful sunny Sunday try Bar Louie. They have a great outside patio and if it's a bit to hot sit at the high tops that sits next to the patio but is inside. Our server Allie was fabulous, very attentive, friendly and genuine. Try the skillet meatballs, very yummy. We also had their seasonal charred Caesar salad and to top it off we had the salted caramel dessert, cleverly served in a mason jar. We were so happy we stopped there after a long weekend away and thank you Allie, you rock!!!!

This was their opening night and they were very well staffed and surprisingly organized. They served awesome martinis that rival going to a high end cocktail bar. They also had very attentive staff and quality bar food. The bar is very spacious and the outdoor seating looked inviting. The building design utilized raisable shed style doors to open up the bar to the outside much the same as you would see in southern urban bars. This was nice and brought a very slight breeze to the bar. The prices are a little outrageous for Bensalem when considering that they're charging $8.50 for a glass of Rex Goliath Cabernet that sells at the state store for $6 a bottle. When you spend more on a glass than you would on a bottle you should probably expect to be sitting on prime real estate overlooking something more appealing than the highway and a parking lot. This pricing isn't a fluke as all of their wines are cheap as dirt in the state store but cost no less than 8.50 a glass when sipped in house. Beer is a bit more affordable but the selection is very very mainstream. I expect that I may come back on occasion for a lunchtime martini and salad. If they adjust their pricing and expand their beer selection, I would probably be a regular for dinner.

I've been here three times and had the same service each time. The waiter/waitress did a poor job at doing just about everything, the wait for your food while looking around a half filled resteraunt makes you want to rip your hair out, and you might as well just call and order your drink before you get there... Because good luck getting one. I do not recommend.

Stopped here before a movie and will be the last. Place was dirty, service and food terrible. Not sure how you can screw up a flatbread pizza but they did. Only thing they have going for them is the drink choices. I am sure this place will be closing soon

We went for happy hour and I was very happy with atmosphere, food, service and overall vibe of the place. It's large but doesn't feel cavernous or empty; food prices are very reasonable with huge portions; good flavors and tons of options for drinks. They have something like 24 beers on draft and a very large mixed drink menu. I'm happy to find a decent happy hour/dinner spot in the area.

Bar Louie isn't a bad place, it's just not that great. I've been there twice since it opened and am underwhelmed. I am not offended by a $10 martini and their giant blue cheese stuffed olives are delicious! Service is mediocre. Servers aren't very friendly. I don't appreciate how they dress or the fact that most wear their hair down and are constantly touching it. Health code requires a hat to keep you from touching your scalp, it has nothing to do with hair getting in anything. I have not liked any of the food. I've tried bruschetta which is served awkwardly; the Bavarian pretzels were rock hard and difficult to bite into and chew; the adobo shrimp taste like there is no seasoning on them; the fried Louie burger I ordered medium came out well and dry; the chicken nachos look like a giant pile of unappealing slop and taste just as poor. I would stop in there again for a drink, but not food. I wouldn't be surprised if it shut down with all the poor reviews on yelp and hearing things in the bathroom, parking lot, etc...

  • M S.

We ordered a $12.00 plate of nachos and it was missing guacamole. They said that they were out of guacamole but they could give us some avocado. Huh? The chips were moist and stale. The bothersome things is, they apologize for being out of things after you've received your order; in hopes that you would just eat it. They are a little pricey as well. The waiter was very nice and apologetic.

The bartender was carrying his baby around the bar and we got our appetizers before we got our drinks. One of our party had to go back up the bar to get another drink. Where is the bar rescue guy when you need him? Oh and one of our guys entree came out 25 minutes after everyone else's...and it was a salad!

  • Jeff P.

I'm not one for poor reviews, but I left kind of underwhelmed. I'll go to the positives and say the lay out is very nice, outdoor seating is fun and comfortable. However the pricing will keep me away! I'm not a cheap guy but a 10 dollar martini that tasted like Gatorade and a 7 dollar Sam Adams draft is a bit much....unless I'm on vacation by a nice seaside view or something, not a view of the mall across the busy highway. It's not an awful place but I'm not rushing back...

1st I would like to start out saying how beautiful this place is. Although it lacks personality its super clean. The tables, chairs inside and out are very nice as well as inside. 2nd I want to apologize to the wait staff for giving this place such a low rating. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. As you walk in you walk into a nice wide open area with a big beautiful bar in the center of the room. I got really excited to see how many taps they had until; I saw what they had on tap. I am not positive how many tap handles they had on but, I can tell you they were full of the run of the mill beers. I was hoping for a better beer selection. So Strike #1 My wife and I asked the waitress what is your best app. She said get the meatballs you get a lot of them and they are pretty good. They tasted as if they bought them from Wawa and reheated them in canned sauce served in an awkward cast iron skillet with slivers of stale toasted bread. Strike #2 My wife ordered the braised short rib sliders and I ordered the blackened chicken tacos. Both of which were gross!! The sliders were served on stale bread soaked with what I believe was their attempt of a garlic aioli. The ribs tasted reheated in a microwave. Very under seasoned and very blah & the same goes for my tacos, the chicken was dry dry dry!! The taco shells were stale and split at the bottoms of all of the tacos, which made picking them up intact impossible. The only good thing was the avocado, it was the freshest thing I had throughout the entire meal. Strike #3 It is a shame that this beautiful place has such horrible food and an even worse beer selection. It seems someone had too much money to spend and opened another chain restaurant with no personality or feeling for what the community wants. I thought maybe my wife and I were being too critical that is we were talking to a few other customer that were in the parking lot, they had thought the same. Also after reading the other reviews on here, I see that there are quite of few other people who had the same bad experience! I wish them much luck but, I doubt they will get it. It's too corporate & I'm sure they are more worried about their "numbers" and not what their guests feel. I will not be returning. sorry for the bad review i really tried to like it.

I wasn't very happy with my night at this place. The service was slow at a bar that was about half full. They charged $6.50 for a 14 ounce Victory beer that would generally cost a dollar less for a two more ounces elsewhere. The biggest offense, however, was their attempt at chicken nachos. The chips were stale to the point that they were chewy and the chicken tasted like the precooked variety with the fake grill marks you would find in a supermarket. It also took a little bit of digging to find any cheese. The atmosphere and interior of the place seemed nice, but that's about all I can say in favor of the place.

  • Hillary P.

After visiting a few times now. I think the atmosphere is a vast improvement over previous tenants. The food and drinks are over priced other than happy hour. Burgers are great, even more so on Tuesdays when they are only $5.! The flatbread is more like a cracker with very little toppings of any kind. Probably be back, but only during happy hour.

  • Jon W.

I really liked the atmosphere here. We came on a Wednesday night so it wasn't too crowded. The service was a little slow from the bar. We had the fish tacos which I did not like at all. They were dry and the tortillas were lame. We also had the chicken alfredo which was very delicioso even though it wasn't really an Alfredo sauce. As an app we had the chicken nachos which were very good. However, as a nacho enthusiast, the nachos were not properly layed out and layered. I require uniformity in my nachos to ensure a good bite every time. I should never be left with dry chips and jalapeños at the bottom of the plate. I thought the beer prices were a little high as well.

Came here after a very long day at work. Was completely disgusted by everything about this restaurant. The service was beyond slow taking 15 min at least to get drinks. Our waiter was under the influence of something because he had glossed over eyes and was very flippant and extremely poor at paying any attention to detail. Once we placed our order with a different waiter the food took about 25 min to show up. When it did one order was completely wrong (getting fish tacos instead of chicken) and the rice was hard and uncooked with the Mahi Mahi. When my co-worker bit into one of her tacos there was a long hair folded into it, upon inspection there was also a hair in the bread that comes with the Cesar salad. As if all of that didn't make for the worst service ever, the manager on duty didn't seem to know how to handle such a problem and my coworker had to give her the idea of giving us some consolation for all of the nights troubles and all she did was comp. our drinks (except the one who's card had already been rung in, there still could have been a way to reverse it and the hair-filled meals should have been free) I know that this place just opened but this entire situation was BEYOND unacceptable. I would avoid this place at all costs.

Came here on a date when it first opened up before the summer and I thought the food and pricing were in-line with just about any other place. The service was somewhat slow but I thought that was to be expected when a place first opens. The atmosphere was great (I've always been a fan of places where you can sit outside and eat) and they have a great variety of drinks and food. The main reason I wanted to write a review now is because it seems like everyone is ripping this place on here and I don't know if that's well deserved. It's not around the corner for me but I'm going to have to revisit just to see again and make sure. For now I'll give it 3 stars.

Bar Louie just opened and we feared it would be a long wait to get a table. We immediately sat and they even let us seat ourselves! Wowzers!! Our server, Jessica, was more than a server. She was a friend . She catered to our every need and even came out to help me change the tire on my car after getting a flat. I had the BBQ burger which was delishhhhhh. Overall the food and atmosphere was excellent and I recommend it to families , dates, and even Jehovah witnesses!!

I've been to the Chattanooga location and loved it, so when I heard it was coming to the area I was really excited. The menu is predictable, but that's ok. My main issues are with the slow service and the time it took to get a drink refill. Not blaming the waitress because she was really great, it just appears they are already understaffed. I hope they get off in the right foot, that location is cursed and I've reviewed each previous tenant.

It looks like a really nice place but it's nothing special. The food was good but again, nothing special. We went during happy hour on a Tuesday so we were able to get the happy hour specials and the $5 dollar burger deal so it ended up being pretty cheap. However, I would not feel like I got my money's worth if I had paid full price. This place may have been worthy of a four-star review if we received good service. Our waitress didn't really do anything wrong, but she wasn't very friendly and none of the waitresses there looked happy.

What an awesome new place!!!!! We came for lunch as dinner, the line was out the door. I love this new concept. No hostess, you seat yourself. It is a lounge/bar environment. They have electrical outlets around the bar. The menu is small but has an outstanding selection. I had the grilled vege wrap (hold the wrap) it was very tasty! I substituted the fries for a house salad. They are well staffed and everyone was friendly. They have fresh brewed ice tea!! I highly recommend this restaurant!

I tried this place tonight and to start it off my party and I were greeted by a very unfriendly hostess. I ordered the four taco plato and I would not recommend it. The tacos are more appetizer sized, not fit for a meal. I wish this was my only problem with the meal, but it wasn't. The waitress brought our food out and I took a bite of my taco and noticed there was only the blackened fish and onion on it. The menu read that there was cilantro, avacodo, chicken or fish and onions. So I told waitress in hopes that it may have been accidentally left off because it was a busy night. She then told me they were out of avacodo and they may have cilantro. I asked to at least have the cilantro. At this point I'm thinking she should have came out and told me there was no avacodo when I first ordered and asked if I'd like to change my dish. The waitress then brought me a cup with "cilantro" in it. Upon inspection it was parsley not cilantro. I don't understand why someone would try and pass parsley off as cilantro. These herbs taste and smell nothing alike. I would not recommend this restaurant/bar to anyone. The food was below par and service was even worse. I will never go back.

I like this place, they have good beer and good food, the atmosphere is a little different, but not bad, I look forward to going there when the weathers nice so we can hang outside

Visited this new spot for the first time for happy hour on a Friday evening and was impressed by the decor. Major renovation was done and it is lovely. There was a good buzz and great atmosphere here. Sat at the bar and had a half-priced flatbread app. Food was good but the bar staff needs help. Seems to be poorly managed. Too many people behind the bar standing around doing nothing. Will return in the hopes that service will improve with time.

Took over 25 min for apps to come. They arrived luke warm. Nachos were fine but the chkn parm sliders were served on what seemed like frozen bread that had been thawed in the microwave. Our frozen, overcooked burgers arrived on the same stale bread. The manager comped the uneaten food but we left hungry.

So I've been here twice so far with 2 completely different experiences. An early dinner on a Saturday outside was excellent. Our server, I think her name was Madeleine, was friendly, attentive and gave us a great experience. I don't understand the hate of the chicken nachos. The chicken doesn't look the best, but it was tender and juicy. The nacho portion was huge! Only gripe was our salads came too soon after our nachos. But getting food out quick on a weekend is amazing! We ordered beer which was very adequately priced, especially for the size. The second experience was late night on a Saturday again. I just finished work and wanted something to eat late night. My bf ordered a salad a few min before I showed up. I arrive and wait at the bar, and despite about 4 bartenders walking around, no one came up to me. About 5-6 min later, a server brings my salad, and I ask her politely for silverware. She grabs the bartender who brought me silverware after pausing to talk to 3 guys, who walked up to the bar a few minutes after me. Big strike in my book. If someone orders food, they should be set up immediately with utensils and salt, pepper and whatever condiments they may need. I had to ask the bartender for a drink when she brought me my silverware. It's as if she didn't notice a new customer. Again, 4 bartenders working a bar with about 6 people around it, not very observant on their part. Once I got my beer, and silverware, the salad was very good again. After that, the bartenders were more attentive and very friendly when serving us. But, they seemed only concerned with the bar patrons they seemed to know. I heard one gossiping with guys about some girls they knew. Again, it's fine to be friendly, but pay attention to all of your guests, it's a big part of your job. So the food is great in my opinion, beer prices are very fair, servers are excellent. The bartenders, although friendly, need to be more observant of the patrons at their bar and not just their friends. I'll be back, but I'll sit at a table for sure!

I knew I would be in the area and checked online for places to eat. I thought this place looked interesting. Somehow, I missed the reviews. My friend and I went on a Monday night, expecting to have dinner and a few drinks. We sat at the bar and were effectively ignored for at least ten minutes. It was not that busy, especially for two bartenders. They did their very best to look busy and avoid any eye contact. We were already incredulous and talking about leaving, when one of the bartenders finally came close to us, partially clearing some dishes that were next to us the whole time. We had to speak up and ask for some drinks. She seemed annoyed, and took our order with not even a hint of a smile or friendly tone. At that point we decided to finish our drinks and go elsewhere for dinner and drinks for the rest of the evening. I did reluctantly leave a tip, but I regretted it the rest of the night. I can only surmise the two female bartenders were having some sort of spat, as neither of them made any effort to talk to the customers or each other. I do not believe this restaurant will last long unless they retrain or replace the most unprofessional bartenders I have encountered . A very sour experience!

I had the same experience as Trish S. with the nachos. Wish I checked out Yelp before my boyfriend and I ordered them. We sat at the bar and the girl that served us (eventually) was too busy chatting with her coworkers and eating by the register to be attentive at all. When I finally got her attention and asked her how one of the drinks were and which one was her favorite, she gave a curt reply, saying she doesn't really drink them but said one of them was "good." Which doesn't make sense if she doesn't drink them. Anyway, my boyfriend and I were looking to share something and were going between the four tacos and the nachos. She didn't know if the taco shells were soft or hard and had to ask someone. Maybe she was new but she didn't seem all too familiar with the menu. We decided on the nachos since my boyfriend prefers hard shelled tacos. The girl brought them out and they looked messy like most nachos do. TON of black bean mush on top (which made them look a bit unappetizing but whatever) along with avocado halves (not guacamole), some diced tomatoes they were passing off as salsa, a huge scoop of sour cream and the other usual toppings. My boyfriend and I could barely find the cheese and had to ask for a side. The girl said they do not have cheese just queso....we let that one slide and said sure, bring it out. While we waited for her to get the cheese we watched her play with her phone, walk around behind the bar aimlessly and chat with coworkers. Ten minutes later she came by and asked if we got the cheese and we said no which she said was funny and that it usually comes right out. She went back to the kitchen and returned with it a minute later. I guess the food runner was taking a break or she was actually supposed to go back to the kitchen and get it herself. The only good part of the nachos was the cheese since it covered up the taste of the stale, soggy chips. As my boyfriend pointed out, homemade chips are so easy and cheap to make. Maybe this restaurant should consider it. The small square pieces of chicken tasted like frozen Purdue chicken strips that were heated in the microwave and cut up. Nachos are really really hard to screw up but they managed to do so. I can deal with getting a so so dish; I would be willing to come back and try something else. What I couldn't deal with is the service. Will not be back.

Not even worth one star service sucks! Food horrible and very over priced! Called spoke to the manager and they were sending me out a $50 gift card to come back that was the second week they were open.... Called spoke to 3 different managers all saying they were putting it in the mail... It's now October and still nothing. Had a server Dave who sucked so bad my 10 year old son wanted to leave. Don't waste your time or money!

Love coming here! We like to come in Tuesdays to get the $5 burger special. Tots are amazing. Donna is one of the servers and she's awesome! We always make sure we get her. The only reason I am giving 4 out of 5 is because their draft beer selection is not always on point. Overall, the food is great and we always have good service.

Not impressed. It's seat yourself but there are no signs so every new comer looks around in dismay until a server or bartender tells them to seat themselves. The after waiting over 20 minutes for our food we were told my husband's burger was given to another table so we got half our order. Then after another 10 minutes his burger came out bleeding not well done. While the waitress did the right thing and did not charge for the burger, after an hour without eating my husband no longer wanted to eat the burger that came out. Needless to say - we will not be back. As a suggestion for management - if this happens in future and you want to retain an otherwise lost patron you might want to consider a voucher for a return visit as we have no incentive to give you another try and risk another disappointing experience. As a positive note, the decor is really nice and the layout is great.

When we went, there were more servers than patrons. Most were hanging out chatting with each other. Those who had customers seemed attentive with one exception....ours! When we needed her she was nowhere to be found. Absolutely horrible service. The food was just OK. In short there is nothing which sets this place apart and we certainly will not go back. I predict it will quickly go the way of its predecessors in the location (Ruby Tuesday's and Marlin & Ray's.) I would much rather have far better food and always excellent service at Longhorn across the parking lot.

I wasn't really impressed with this place...mainly because of the service. I wasn't expecting the servers / hostess to be wearing little to nothing and one girls breasts were literally about to fall over the top of her shirt! (Pretty sure this wasnt supposed to be a 'Hooters' like place). My server, Katie, was nice - but not attentive at all. My friend was asked what side option she wanted (tots or fries) and I was not (we ordered the same thing). I ended up with fries that were pretty gross. I asked for my guacamole on the side and no peppers. I got my food with none of my pretty reasonable requests made. Not a big deal, because I can scrape the gauc off myself and remove the peppers but I was annoyed. My turkey burger was okay - except the bottom bun was soaked/wet so I ate around it. Also - she asked to see my ID regarding my credit card (understandably) but she knew I didn't have my license with me since I realized that earlier when I tried to order a drink. (Totally my fault). I looked at her like she was nuts when she asked me and gave her my ID badge from the hospital I work at which she said was ok. She never brought extra napkins or straws for our drinks, either. Overall, wouldn't come here again. Drinks were more than our meal which is outrageous for this area. Food wasn't very good and our server was clearly busy chit chatting with thr hostess who looked like she forgot to wear clothes to work.

The menu is very sparse, limited to mostly bar food. We were disappointed that there was only one soup selection and that one was inedible for my wife. There was a choice of only six "plate' selections. Bigger on burgers, sliders and appetizers. My wife got the shrimp appetizer, consisting of sixteen unremarkable shrimp, (Could use come seasoning.) The chicken tortilla soup was overly spicy. I had no problem with it but can understand others being put off. My choice of salmon sliders and fries were OK but not special. The dessert of caramel whiskey cake was again OK. Now let's get on to the major negative: drinks. Our mojitos were overly sweetened with cane syrup and OVERPRICED at 10 dollars each. We've been to many NY restaurants that don't charge that much. I doubt that we will return.

Disappointed. I really wanted to like this place because friends had gone there and had an ok experience. Not so much. Networking event for my organization during happy hour on a Thursday. Happy hour so you can almost get past the slow service, there were only 4-6 bartenders. $5.25 for the martini which normally goes for $10 but seemed to lack a key ingredient, alcohol. All of which you can get past but here's the problem. I got up from the bar to use the ladies room and on my return found the area had been cleared of the glasses and more importantly approximately $25-30. I asked, watched all the bartenders deny taking the money and then had a conversation with a 20 something named Alexis who attempted to school me on proper bar procedures regarding leaving my money on the bar while using the restroom. She was sympathetic that she couldn't take my word for it and she also assured me that NONE of the bartenders had taken the money so I guess we're left with some random patron who swung by, cleaned up the bar and pocketed the cash. Hard to imagine anyone behind that bar thought anyone left them a $25-30 tip. Not a good way to run a bar gang,. May want to hire some honest bartenders who know how to make a drink and don't mind hustling a bit.

Love the atmosphere, and food is decent. Only reason I gave two stars. My boyfriend and I got cocktails, weren't strong, couldn't taste the liquor. Then we got two BIG shots of Fire Ball, oooh nice, big shots, NO, big watered down shots. My face didn't even squirm. Hmmm. We moved to beer. So had one drink, one shot, and a beer each. Not even buzzed (Might I add, I was even on an empty stomach). I dont know how bars get away with this crap. Food is good. No complaint there. But if I'm paying 10$ for a drink I expect it to be on the stronger side. And if I pay for a 6.50$ shot I expect it to be a shot. Not water downed. DEF can tell, color is off too. Disappointed. You think being a new spot they would over pour to bring ppl back then switch it up. IF we go again we will only be ordering beer (unless my friend is bartending).

This is a very detailed, important, review on this establishment so please listen carefully. I am a former employee and would like to clearly be anonymous. What I can honestly tell you are the things that will follow. #1. Close people to me have came here for the free app and $2 martini deal when the place first opened. I am talking about several couples I know, families, my family, etc. and all complained about the scattered service. I will not say if I was an employee at the time when this establishment opened or not. #2. NOTHING IMPROVED for customer service. And it all starts with how idiotic the management is. Do not worry, because it will not change. The place is going to be torn down within a year because, well, nothing lasts in this particular spot, and this place is frankly quite worse than the Ruby Tuesday here previously (before Marlin Rays, or whatever). Anyway, the management is too preoccupied with what employees they can sleep with, playing pranks on each other when customers need to be attended to, favoring certain employees, using drugs and alcohol on and off of the clock, etc. All of this information, if investigated (but no one would even bother), would all come to the surface as true. SO, if you're wondering why you are having a bad experience with service, the MANAGEMENT is not caring enough to go up to your table and inquire on why, but they'll tell your server to have the food taken off of your bill so try it and get a free meal out of it! :) If you are wondering why the food tastes awful and think the cooks do not care, they don't. Because the MANAGEMENT is too busy goofing off in the office, making employees wash dishes while they yell at everyone else. If you're wondering why you have to order seven beers and they are still out of every draft and bottle until you just end up choosing a watered down, $10 martini instead, it's because the MANAGEMENT was too busy with all of what I mentioned above to make sure anything has been ordered, when they clearly take inventory of what sells most, and SHOULD be prepared for anything. Coffee and iced tea were never available for customers because they were never in stock, which is utterly pathetic if you ask me. COFFEE AND ICED TEA. If god forbid their would be regular, and someone asked for decaf, the wait staff (90 percent of them) couldn't have a brain cell to comprehend or care that if you give regular to someone with a heart condition and lie, serious issues could happen. And lastly, if you're wondering why your bartender or server is carding you when you're 55, it's because they almost got in big trouble for not doing so. ever. BOTTOM LINE, as a former employee, this should be the prime example of what I have seen, heard from family and friends on their experience with the opening, and my experience on what I saw. Have a great day, save yourself a migraine, and don't choose this place! Ciao.

Great New place. Lots of potential. I stopped in here recently before seeing Tammy the movie across the street last thursday night. I was pleasantly surprised to see a great cover band playing (they will have live music every thursday). The bartenders looked friendly and inviting so I sat at the bar and ordered one of their martinis. The bartender recomended the clover to me. It was like a whiskey sour but better. I was surprised by the price of the maritni but after mentioning it the bartender told me that the prices are the way they are because the juice is fresh squeezed and they are very boozy drinks made with top shelp liquors. After one drink I was feeling pretty good so it checked out. Seems like it is just their specialtly drinks that are pricey. The food was great and came out quickly. I was very impressed by how quickly the staff moves to keep up with the high volume during these busy opening weeks. I wound up skipping the movie and going a little later in the night so that i could enjoy the band and a couple more drinks. I will be back.

We went there with some friends a week or so ago and none of us were really impressed. The place looks very nice and is well kept. Our server was great and full of personality, but the food was not good in my opinion. I had a their Chicago Stockyard Burger which is topped with blue cheese, onions, lettuce tomato and Worcester sauce. I asked for it to be cooked medium and it was way over cooked and very dry and tasteless. It actually tasted like it was a frozen burger patty and looked like one too...In fact I think it indeed was. I kept thinking it was going to get better, and after about 3 bites I realized it wasn't. I was excited to try their tater tots. I thought they would be home-made, but nope! They didn't taste any better than the frozen store bought ones, which is exactly what I think they were. We also tried their Buffalo Chicken flatbread, which was tasty but the crust was very flimsy and hard to eat. I also tried the Honey Dew Martini which was delicious at first, but as it got more room temperature, it became extremely sweet, which made me think they used syrups rather than fresh juices(which would have made it so much better!). I just got the impression that they are a step above fast food. Their Craft Beer selection was decent and they do serve a wide range of fun drinks. But in my opinion, if they are going to last, they need to step up their game with the food. It could be a really cool place if they make some changes.

Tim was such a lovely server dealing with my drunk friends, so if he's reading this; thanks so much Tim! The drinks were amazing, especially when my mojito was made. I've honestly never tasted such a refreshing mojito ever. I haven't tried the food yet, but glancing at the menu, it looks awesome! The atmosphere of the area is beautiful. They have an outdoor dining area and a fire place with a sleek, black design and red couches. It's warm and inviting, rather than having an ostentatious vibe about it.

I am really pulling for this place to get it together and be the fun spot to be seen in Bensalem. It has a cool city vibe to the interior and the patio area, that I feel would be "date night nice" without having to deal with the parking situation in Center City. Unfortunately, it has too many issues currently. We sat at the bar, and it took about 10-15 minutes for someone to greet us and take our order. Our food order, pork tacos and bbq burger, took a very long time to make it out of the kitchen. After about 30 minutes, the bartender said that our food would be out shortly, and it wasn't until 15 minutes after that, that my food came out. We had to wait another 5 minutes for my brother's food to come out, and by that time my food was barely warm. (It drives me crazy when food comes out at different times.) The food wasn't that good. Honestly, I wish I had kept going down the street to Chipotle for a carnitas burrito and spent less than half of how much my tacos cost. My watermelon margarita was too sweet and weak, no salt or sugar on the rim, and it was $10! Center City prices for a mediocre margarita. If you want a margarita, go to On the Border. But I guess, silly me for ordering anything other than a martini at a place that has a martini glass logo. Shucks! Once we were greeted, the bartenders actually were pretty attentive and asked how our meal was. Although they forgot to put out plates and utensil for us even though we ordered food. Also, my last drink was a beer, and the bartender forgot I had ordered it. Once he was reminded, he quickly brought it out to me. I don't think the bar service is bad on purpose, either they are new or need more training. There seemed to be a lot of staff on hand as well, although the restaurant was probably only 2/3 occupied. However, the kitchen must be a mess back there. I want to come back in the next 6 months and see if they've stepped up their game. They need to figure out their issues in the kitchen by then. I want to be able to come here for a quick drink and then head over to PARX without a headache.

Ugh... Pretty much sums up my visit. There was no wait to get seated at the bar, and the drinks were pretty good/served quickly! It all goes downhill from there. Ordered a Cobb salad with grilled chicken, came out 90 minutes later. Maybe they had to hunt down the chicken for my salad? Sadly, they failed, because they forgot to put it on the salad(or the chicken outwitted the chef). My friends brisket sliders looked more like beef jerky strips, and they ran out of the pear slaw that goes on top of it(maybe my lost chicken ate it all). The bartender seemed miserable, but I wouldn't be too happy if I had to constantly deal with these shenanigans as well. Bottom line, I would come back for the drinks, would pass on the slow service/sub-bar grub.

This place gets a big 'meh' from me. The best thing they have is their queso tater tots which are awesome, fattening goodness. The rest of their food is mediocre at best, for instance, their slider burgers are very average and forgettable. Their drinks are outrageously priced, so if you're expected to get sloshed on a budget, you're very wrong. The service is also mediocre, most of the staff seems a bit standoffish but they do their jobs correctly. I didn't encounter any issues with cleanliness and most operations seemed to be running smooth here. There just wasn't anything great about it. I might go back for the tater tots, but I can't really find any other reason to.

The food is delicious and the beer is cold . But the customer service at the bar was a joke !!! The guy never once asked us if we need anything and we waited for outer two glasses of water for over 15 min . Really stupid customer service . Management has a lot of training to do ....

Yikes. I don't know if this place is going to last. First trip was just okay, but tonight helped determine that I don't think I will be back. We chose to sit at the bar- every area was covered with dirty plates and empty glasses except for two bar stools on the corner. Upon sitting down I noticed that there was soggy lettuce clinging to the bar stool. (Flicked it away, no harm done. Yet.) Received a "free app" from signing up to be party of the "Louie's Crew." Decided to cash in for it tonight- upon showing the bartender, she said she wasn't familiar with it, but was agreeable. I am SO GLAD that I didn't pay for the Nachos. The chips were stale, the chicken was incredibly dry.... ugh. And it would have been an $11 App otherwise! My date said that they tasted as if someone had ordered them earlier that night, but decided they didn't want them, so the cooks held on to these and waited for someone to order them. ( I doubt that's the taste, but please don't doubt that I'm over reacting- they really were not good. Please do not waste your money- pick something else). They were out of 5 beers on their beer menu, so after being frustrated that they didn't have any of the beers I wanted, I just asked for a bottle of rolling rock. THEY WERE OUT OF BOTTLED ROLLING ROCK, TOO. Ended up ordering a water, which was "forgotten," and never refilled (and was never offered a refill, or even received a glance). Date ordered a Yuengling draft. $6. SIX DOLLARS FOR A YUENGLING DRAFT. The thing that finally set me over the edge was when I noticed that 5/6 staff members were wearing SHORT SHORTS. The hosts aprons were longer than their shorts, so for some of them it looked like they weren't even wearing anything!! I guess they have leniency for uniform, but I just find it gross and unprofessional. The facility has the air of an upscale establishment (it's honestly gorgeous inside), so I just can't fathom why management would allow their staff to dress anything less. It's detrimental to the atmosphere. I had such high hopes for my second visit to be better than the first (since our first visit was during opening week when I"m sure there were kinks to work out), but I will not be back. Sorry, Bar Louie.

Got the definite impression that because I was alone I didn't matter. The drink at the bar was good but expensive. Had the parmesan meatball app which came out with disgusting looking, burnt bruschetta. The bartender gave me a funny look when I asked for NON burnt to a crisp bruschetta. Meatballs were good but probably won't return. Didn't feel welcome and 12.99 for an app is too pricey.

I can happily say Bar Louie has improved drastically since my last visit. I decided to finally redeem the "we will make it up to you" IOU from my last visit and I couldn't have been happier with the turn out. Despite it being a busy night for them (they had some $5 burger special going on!), they delivered top notch service and high quality food. Per the usual, I placed a large order for work. They happily labeled every meal and neatly organized everything in a way that was easy to distribute back at the office. The food was delicious and the presentation of everything was still amazing considering it was takeout which by the way didn't get messed up from the time of pick up at the bar back to distribution at office. I wish I had taken pictures!! Adobo Shrimp skewers is my go to meal here. They are served over a bed of greens with slices of fresh mango and avocado... it's basically a salad and it's delicious!! It's listed as an appetizer but I would definitely categorize it as a personal salad. The hummus, tzatziki (sp?) And tapenede (sp?) were beautifully laid out with slices of pita bread and cucumbers - incredibly flavorful and delicious with every bite!! Perfect for sharing with others. Pork dumplings had a lot of flavor to them too so those were great as well. Overall this experience was great and they've gained me back as a customer. There was a general consensus amongst my coworkers that tonight was a fantastic decision. I'm sorry I had to turn away for so long, but I'm back now!! I promise.

I posted a crappy review about 6 months ago...decided to come back and give them another try. Sat outside and ordered water (no lime...as she asked if I wanted it). Got seltzer with lime... Ordered shrimp skewers.. About 30 min later got fish skewers.. WTF!!!!!!! for the love of God. Why? Dear god why, does it take soooooo long for food here? AND it's ALWAYS wrong...ALWAYS!!!! GAHAHHHHH!!!! DO NOT COME HERE..unless of course you love eating whatever you get from the kitchen, regardless of what you order..and you love sitting for very long periods of time in anticipation of what mystery food you might get.

LOVE this place! Went here for a birthday dinner last week and it was so fun. Real low-key, chill vibe. Food was good - some dishes better than others (the lettuce wraps and bruschetta are amazing!). The drinks were good, and they have a great happy hour! The patio is great, and one of the only places in the area with outside seating, so that's definitely a plus. The waiter was great - super nice and really cool. Will definitely be back!

I'm being nice with 3 stars. The food here sucks and the prices are crazy high considering. The only thing that this place has going for it is the outdoor seating. So if it's a nice day and you don't mind watching traffic then check it out. Just don't expect anything special. If you go in with really low expectations then there is a chance you'll leave pleased.

If it's a warm summer day, and you want to sit outside and relax, this is the place to be. They have an extensive menu selection, and the blood red Sangria's are awesome. I tried the crispy chicken burger, and I was full the entire day. The pasta quality wasn't that great, but for regular bar food and such, it's a great place to check out. If you're in Neshaminy and want to sit down with some friends, I would recommend checking out Bar Louie.

Places like this are good with food consistency, and this one lived up to that with a solid performance. The service is what makes or breaks things and I'm very pleased with how this location operates. Great staff from the front to the back make this a great place to enjoy a beer and some sliders. The tap list is decent although a few more craft brews would be appreciated. Overall a good experience - I recommend giving it a shot and I will definitely be back.

I came in for dinner by myself and sat at the bar - waited for about 5 minutes, no one greeted me let alone even acknowledged my existence. The bar was far from packed and there were multiple bar tenders. I decided to leave and go elsewhere. This was my third time visiting this place, today I went out of pure convenience... Knowing that my previous visits were barely mediocre. The last time I was there we were served cold pretzels and my Martini had a hair in it - yuck! I know accidents happen and I am aware that things like this happen, however I will not be returning.

I am not one to complain but I think it is important for the restaurant to receive reviews so it can improve the experience for other customers. First and foremost I truly enjoy the atmosphere, cocktail menu, and beer options. I been there multiple times and my major complaint is the wait time to be greeted. What sticks out most is this past Tuesday (3/31/2015) night I came in with my date and sat at the bar. It took over 15 minutes to be even greeted. We were near the service bar and all 3 bartenders and whom I presume to be a manager (only one wearing a logo t-shirt) walked past us multiple times without even greeting us. I wouldn't have been as frustrated if they came over, acknowledge us then apologized about the wait. I am very understanding since I myself am a bartender and server. I didn't complain, act rude or demand service (still leaving a 20% tip). It is better to always ask to speak to a manager to solve the issues but I knew how busy they were and I also had a movie to catch. I just had to bring it to your attention so hopefully if I return the service will be better. If it does not improve I will not be returning.

The service was horrific the staff was non existent. I am waiting for this place to go out of business ! A hot mess. My boyfriend asked for Pacifico beer that was on their menu and the manager didn't even know if they had it. A table of men sitting next to us was waiting for silverware for 25-30 minutes after their food arrived.... We're still waiting for our food . Our server is playing with her hair and has a purse on like she is about to leave her shift. This place freaked me out . Please knock this place down build a damn hooters for gods sake
