I grew up on Yocco's and I love it, I wish they had a location in Philly! Always delicious, never fails to exceed my expectations. I usually also get perogies and fries with my Yocco Dog. I also tend to get my dog with everything on it, including a pickle! This is an Allentown don't miss! Cash only, but I am pretty sure all of the locations have ATM machines. Inexpensive and certainly a fun treat!

Really great Yocco's Hot Dog location. I needed help with an unusual request for a corporate event and they couldn't have been nicer or more helpful even though I just walked in off the street and started asking questions as soon as they were open. Nice, large location; very bright and clean; tons of easy in-and-out parking (which I can't say for all Yocco's locations). Like all the others, they are cash-only however they have an ATM on-site and a Bank of America is just around around the corner. A great spot to get your Yocco's fix!

Last night my wife and where in Allentown for a viewing. After the viewing It was time for some comfort food. My wife suggest Yoccos. We snagged a dozen dogs for the ride home. I forgot just how good these are. We at four dogs before we got home. 18 bucks of pure pleasure. I'm going to get 2 dozen next time I'm in Allentown.

Picked up 2 plain hot dogs and 3 with everything to go. When I went to eat them they were black and burned. I called and spoke to the manager but he didn't care. He says Yocco sells well done hot dogs. So if you like dried out burned black hot dogs. Then this place is for you. Not me I will never go back.

I grew up in the Lehigh Valley, but I never quite caught the Yocco's bug. I mean I've been to several of the locations countless times but it's just an average hot dog. The fries are bland. Cheesesteaks are nothing to write home about. I just don't get it. Hot dogs are cheap (1.50 or so) so that'll keep me stopping in occasionally. Everything else is very overpriced. Also, they're cash only. In this day and age, how can you not accept credit card? I'm a very small business owner and even I take cards. I guess if you just want a hot dog, go for it.

This place having more than a one star average is mind-boggling. They don't take credit cards. The hot dogs suck..they are over cooked. The fries are the kind your mom bought after she just divorce your dad and she had to go on food stamps. The staff knows the food sucks but hey, it's cheap right. You get what you pay for. And what you're paying for is 12-15 hours of diarrhea followed by a cold shower as you sit in a fetal position crying to yourself "why the heck did I go to Yuckos". Oh...and their mascot is a turd with a hat.

I ordered 2 dogs with chili sauce and onions, 2 pierogies and a medium drink. the pierogies were cooked to perfection. I wish I can make em this good. The hot dogs were nice and well done just as they advertise on the menu. The chili was mild but the onions add to the flavor. My only critique is there was very little chili sauce but for the price ($6 for everything) I'll just order a side of sauce. The prices can't be beat! Next time I'd like to try a different location and bring my kids.

As a person who's never visited Allentown, I didn't know what to expect. Billy Joel lyrics notwithstanding, I was sent up at the last minute for work which required me to 1) find a flight and 2) rent a car when I arrived in Philly when my connection was inevitably canceled. You might say I was not in a good mood when I arrived. I arrived only with the sultry voice of the rental car's Garmin to guide me. I'd only been to PA one other time, to witness a Penn State friend get married in Happy Valley. What I knew of your state was what I'd gleaned from years of friendship with that guy--that apparently you people call ATM cards MAC cards and that "sticky buns" are manna from heaven. That covers about 97% of what I know of local culture. But I did my work, delivered to my client on time. Most of my meals were provided client-side, so I didn't have an opportunity to eat out much. I did, however, make an exception for Yocco's. I knew nothing of Yocco's other than what their sign stated: something about being king of hot dogs in PA. Again, I can't vouch for their dogs' standing relative to others instate, but as an objective observer, I found them pretty damn tasty. They probably could've made ordering a little easier. "Ch Dog." What the frak is a "Ch Dog?" A "cheese dog?" A "chimera dog?" A Che Guevara Dog, ready to revolt against its bourgeoisie masters?" I ordered by saying "One of those" and pointing like any good tourist should. Ah, it's a CHILI dog! OK, I'll take it. I also ordered a large pirogie. Now my knowledge of PA may be somewhat, ah, limited, but even I know pirogies aren't typically fried. But after trying them this way, maybe they ought to be. A nice quick meal to see me back down south. Four stars, Yocco's.

It always tastes the same! Good chili dogs when the craving hits you! I've even brought the "doggie" pack home and those are fun as well with the kids and friends. Bottom line, great little hot dog place.

Legendary. Pricing is family friendly. Brought my son with me and we chowed down for just over $10. Just a fun, local place to eat.

I was at this location recently, and it wasn't as good as I expected. The people were nice, but the dogs weren't anything spectacular, and they took a while. Onion rings were good though! I recommend Potts in Nazareth if you're in the area.

Should be called YUCKOS. These hot dogs suck. They cook the heck out of them to the point they are hard, dry and painful to swallow. They claim to be world renowned bc they mail their dogs. There is nothing special about their dogs. It's worth the fifteen minutes to drive to Easton and get jimmys hot dogs.

Nothing new to add to the other reviews. I'm a former Lehigh Valley native and grew up on Yocco's hot dogs and pierogies. Now, it's the only time you'll catch me eating them. This place is a must stop on any trips back home.

Being a lehigh valley native this place is almost like an institution in the area..The Hot dogs are great, as is the burgers and other menu items. And yes, you do have to repeat your order twice and yes they only accept cash which is annoying but not as annoying as when they analyze EVERY bill you hand them. I spent almost 5 minutes at the counter there while they stood there carefully analyzing every single bill i handed them (including ones) as if i were a criminal.. Maybe just MAYBE if you accepted plastic, you wouldn't have the need to waste so much time checking everyones bills criminalizing all your paying customers.

My Wife introduced me to Yocco's Original Location.....The one with Beer. The Airport Location does not sell beer but a Great Hot Dog is a Great Hot Dog with or without one. Pierogi and Steak or Sausage Sandwiches are here, too. The Sauce is a tasty one and rounds out an already flavorful dog. This is not a Hot Dog Joint it's a strip mall take out or eat in location, but maybe that is its saving grace. We come back, we always will; it is that good.

A recent visit has led me to believe that while some things have indeed changed with this location some are still same as they ever were. The rolls for the cheesesteaks seemed wider, softer, and fresher. The sauce wasn't as ass burning toxic as usual. But at the same time the ordering process is maddening because you need to repeat your order at least twice to the zit-faced twelve year old taking your order only to repeat it again to the twelve year old on the register. Mercifully they continue to paper the LV with coupons that while not great are at least a token discount on what is very mediocre at best food.

My girlfriend and I stopped here for a snack before seeing a movie a few months ago. The staff (who all seemed to be 15 years old) were kind of rude and sarcastic, but that paled in comparison to the awful food. The hot dogs looked and tasted old and the fries were laughable, definitely frozen and tasteless.

I grew up in the Lehigh Valley and was practically weened on Yocco's dogs. Whenever I'm back in the area, I try to get a couple of dogs ('everything' is the only way to go in my opinion) and some 'rogies. Honestly, I love this location. It's an easy off from the highway, they have a bunch of "10 minute only" parking spots, and the service is fast and courteous - not to mention they consistently serve the perfect, well done dog in a steamed roll, with a generous helping of sauce, mustard and onions. Keep it up!! (I respect others' opinions, and I think it's great we can all decide where to eat for ourselves, but I have to wonder if some reviewers are coming from a very different place when they write up Yocco's. This food may be an an acquired taste, but if you love Yocco's, you won't regret hitting the Catasauqua Rd branch. Yes, it's in a strip mall; yes, you have to order and then tell the cashier what you got (seriously, is it that hard?); and yes, they're Yocco's pierogies (which are deep fried and perfect), but isn't that what you wanted? Well, it's what I wanted anyway.)

Seriously I don't see the hype in Yocco's. Having just moved to the area my other half being from here raved about them. We went I was expecting great things. I got a shriveled up hot dog on a stale bun. The fries were forgettable. Save your time and go across the street to the other shopping plaza and go to five guys. If you want a hot dog they beat these hands down. BTW my other half was disappointed as well said they weren't nearly as good as he remembered.

Honestly, if I was reviewing the food on pure nostalgia and the "emotion" one feels when eating a Yocco's hot dog, I'd give this place a 5 out of 5. But from a completely objective perspective, I think it's more of a 3 out of 5. Their hot dogs are great and the prices are really reasonable. The sauce (who cares how it's made) is flavorful and the whole hot dog really comes together. Unfortunately, everything else on the menu is really lackluster and the sides all taste frozen (if not, they're just average). But there's something very "Lehigh Valley" about a summer evening where you down half a dozen Yocco dogs, a couple pierogies, french fries, and a bottle of chocolate milk. This nostalgia goes beyond just me since I have seen people leave the Valley and demand that family send them the Yocco kits so they can make their own Yocco dogs. Or maybe I'm just a glutton and not a gourmand. Heck I would never even label myself as a gourmet.... (truth be told, their hot dogs are kind of tiny) (3 + 5) / 2 = 4 stars

We were told this was another restaurant we had to visit. Another "LV" icon as it were. Well, all we can say is "eh" Foodwise: We both had Yocco dogs (cheese, onion, chili, mustard.) I mean R's first comment was "that's a shriveled up dog". Now, they tasted pretty good, nice "kick" to them. Just not great. Inexpensive, for sure....an excellent value. We also ordered the onion rings, which were some of the best we have ever had. Nice size, good flavor and a fair portion. The service was prompt and friendly. We recommend giving them a try, we weren't disappointed like we were at Grumpy's BBQ. We will return, perhaps try a better time or ask for fresh dogs, maybe another location.

I dont see what the big deal with Yocco's is? The dogs are typically burnt, crusty and smooshed. Its ok for a dog, but nowhere near as good as the hype. I'm sure they were good back in the day, but I was unimpressed. I think the change from Medford meats to Hatfield meats probably had a hand in this. The staff is robotic and unfriendly, and the stores could be cleaner. Toby's in P-Burg is better.

I love hot dogs, but I wasn't super impressed with these. They were good but I expected better. French fries were pretty good.

THE local hot dog shop. Great hot dogs and chili, though it's a little different than what you're used to. The employees are very courteous and the service is fast. To make yourself look like a local, try a chocolate milk with the dogs.
