My girlfriend and I stayed here while headed south along the coast on our touring bicycles and the stay was AMAZING. We called last minute (as in 30 minutes before we showed up) and we were lucky enough to get an available room. The hosts, Dianne and David, were extremely warm hearted and generous. Although it seemed out of the norm, we were able to get our dirty biking clothes in the laundry, which was such a relief for us. In the afternoon we sat down in the spacious dining room and enjoyed a complementary glass of wine and some cheese, while looking out the window at the beautiful beach which was RIGHT there. We relaxed in the chairs out back that are overlooking the beach and got some much missed reading in (while soaking in the sun:) ) That night, Dave fired up the tiki torches which lit the way down a sand trail through the small grass covered dunes to the beach. As the mist rose, it really looked "other worldly" with small orbs of glowing mist lighting up the backyard. We got the "Oceanic Room", which is on the corner with an awesome view of the beach. It had a deck we could keep the bikes on and a huge bath tub with jets in which we could soak our sore muscles. The room was so comfortable and welcoming, though mellow at the same time as not to take away from the natural beauty that was right at the sliding glass door. (I loved it was lacking a TV). Breakfast the next morning was like nothing I've had before. Dianne catered towards my vegetarian girlfriend's needs in a way that we could all enjoy. It was really special. I can't wait to go back (hopefully for more time). Even if I'm not on a bike tour, I'm sure the relaxing atmosphere will be much needed.

We spent our honeymoon here earlier this year, and found the Oceanus Room to be a perfect haven of tranquility. You can see the Pacific ocean waves from the luxurious king bed and the decor is clean and bright. There is an indoor jacuzzi, outdoor deck chairs, and easy access to the beach. For newlyweds needing a getaway or love nest, this is an ideal space for a coastal sojourn. Some minor lodging improvements I'd suggest: the deck railing cuts right through one's view of the ocean, it could do with lowering or minimizing its visual presence. Also, it would be nice if there were some way to make the deck more private instead one long shared space; but I suppose this is a B&B, after all, not a hotel. While we adored the accommodations and location, the breakfasts left much to be desired. I'm sure the owners mean well, but the food comes off tasting very strange and artificial, the music playing is something akin to Andrea Bocelli (shudder), and the small fishes in the vases seem quite unhappy. But mainly the food's the issue: whatever ingredients are at work, we found the main courses to be really unappetizing. If they focused on simpler, more organic recipes with less artificial ingredients and fussy presentations, the cuisine might live up to the first-rate accommodations.

Although I'm proud to be the first to review the Sea Spirit House, I'm really hesitating. This place is a gem, a truly incredible find, and I'm not sure I want to give away our secret getaway. Still, these amazing hosts deserve to be recognized for providing such a wonderful retreat, so here goes... First of all, you're right on the beach. I mean, you open your sliding glass door and there's the path, with the beach only a few yards away. Can't get much closer than that. The hosts, David and Dianne, are probably the friendliest folks we've stayed with in years. They are so accommodating and welcoming. If we hadn't been so busy touring the area, we would have really enjoyed hanging out with them more. The rooms (we stayed in the Ahti Room) are so spacious and the bathrooms are bigger than some hotel rooms! We had a huge walk-in shower and jetted whirlpool tub in our bathroom, as well as a king-sized bed in the bedroom. Awesome! The breakfasts are absolutely gourmet and totally indulgent, not to mention they're served in a dining room that faces the ocean, so the view is incredible (just like the one from our room!). We had fresh fruit and smoothies both mornings, with a "Kitchen Sink" frittata (you have to try it, it's too delicious to attempt to explain) the first morning and marscapone-orange marmalade crepes with kiwi the second morning. Oh my goodness, this is what a B&B breakfast should be! My husband and I moaned and moaned with foodie pleasure! They also offer an afternoon wine and cheese snack, but we were sadly absent for that both afternoons, due to our busy day tripping. We slept soundly at night, with the door cracked to hear the ocean, and took lots of long walks on the beach. Located just 4 miles north of Yachats, this B&B was close enough to get a quick dinner in town and see the sights nearby, but far enough away to feel secluded. Finally, our hosts pampered us with plenty of bottled water, a snack basket in our room (including Jelly Bellies!) and a "To-Go Goodie Bag," with homemade fudge and cookies. So delicious! They kept asking if we needed anything else and we were just overwhelmed with how they went the extra, extra, extra mile to make us comfortable. All of this came at a very reasonable price, too...only $190/night during the beginning of the Summer season. So go here and indulge. Get away from everything and forget what time it is. Your hosts will encourage it, too. Just don't tell anyone else. :) We will be back to visit in the future, any chance we get!

I'm trying hard to think of *original* material for my review of Sea Spirit House... but Ajia's review covered it so well. I'm on the last day of our honeymoon, and we chose this place based on Ajia's review, and the fact that each room has jacuzzi tubs. Dianne wowed us with her hospitality. It was great! I woke up very early this morning and opened the screen door and walked outside to hear the sounds of the ocean surf. How serene, and soothing! You should *DEFINITELY* check this place out!! We will be coming back for future visits. Oh yeah... I used to think that the beaches at Lincoln City and Depoe Bay were nice... the beach here is better!
