Wandered in here as a result of the Yelp reviews... The service is friendly, if a little slow. The decor isn't anything to write home about, but its nice to see a family restaurant like this. And the food is DELICIOUS and fresh (they made our salsa before bringing over chips).

Lupitas is a gem of a restaurant located right in downtown Wooburn. The prices are low and the food is absolutely delicious. Most of the lunch entrees are around seven dollars. Two people (even with drinks) could have a feast for less than twenty dollars. One of Lupitas great strengths is the quality of their ingredients. The vegetables taste fresh and the cheeses are of the finest quality. Service is friendly and quick. The food comes out of the kitchen almost instantaneously. Your server may not be totally fluent in English but her warm smile and desire to help will probably make that problem insignificant. Lupitas is looking a little old and worn on the inside. However, it's a clean and spacious restaurant. The booths are quite comfortable. If you're looking for quality Mexican food that is reasonably priced and served quickly then I can think of no finer place to go than Lupitas Restaurant in Woodburn, OR.

I used them to cater an 800 person outdoor event. He was supposed to be on site at 11:00. At 11:30 we called and were told that they were on the way. We called multiple times and kept being told "they just left". We were at a park only five minutes away. They finally showed up at 2:30, totally unprepared to handle the volume, despite the fact that they had been told ahead of time how many people to expect. People had to wait in line for over an hour to be fed. The event was a disaster.

We went here for breakfast on the recommendation of friends and by the looks of the place, we didn't expect much. When our food arrived, we were treated to the most amazing chilaquiles, huevos a la mexicana and handmade tortillas. A simple meal that combined the best flavors, textures and authentic technique that I have tasted since I lived in Mexico. Now we just need more reasons to get down to Woodburn for more. Fabulous.

This place is wonderful, and ran by great people. They've been serving at the Rose Festival in Portland, and I've only been eating their food. They have a delicious $6 burrito that's well worth it because they load it up, let you load up on veggies and then they professionally wrap it up for you. Definitely try this place if you want some quality Mexican food!

The place was empty but the staff was very friendly. The food was great and tasted very fresh. Curly fries were soggy but that's not their specialty so no biggie. We'll be back!

Lupitas is a small family owned Mexican Restaurant tucked back in Woodburn. We've seen this place hundreds of times going through Woodburn, coming from Silverton. When using the Yelp app, it suggested another spot down the road, but my wife wasn't feeling the look of the other place. She wasn't really feeling this place when she walked in either. We were moments from splitting, and probably would have if the couple in front of us didn't do the same. When you come here, you order at the counter, seat yourself, and then wait for your food to be delivered. I have to be brutally honest and say, the place needs a major remodel. There were booths on the opposite side of this place that were piled high with; extension cords, boxes, papers, TV's, Vaccuums...I think I seen an iguana in there too. It's a real uncomfortable feeling to eat somewhere and seeing junk piled 5'-6' in the air. How sanitary is my food again? While waiting for our food, they brought out some chips and salsa. There were a few dishes that had salsas in them, but we wouldn't touch it since it looked like it had been in the same jar ever since Cortez plundered for gold. The main bowl loaded with Salsa "appeared" to be sanitary....err....more sanitary. Ok folks...at this point I was banking on a few Imodium AD the next day, and was throwing caution in the wind. Shame on me. The salsa had a bite, but it was really good to be fair. The chips were VERY thick and kinda ruined the "chips and salsa" experience. I ordered a Carne Asada burrito. The burrito was roughly $6 and it came with nothing. Bummer. The burrito was muy authentico. It's exactly what you would get south of the border, main difference is it had prices north of the border. Where as the burrito was good, it really could've used more steak, it was sad how little they put in there. The wife went with Steak Chalupas which were huge and came with beans and rice. DAMNIT! I wanted that... Before we left, we spotted a huge "Princess" themed Pinata. Not only were we about to host a "Princess Birthday Party" for our little princess, but she REEEEALLY wanted a Pinata. It was only $12, which was a steal compared to $25 for a paper donkey at Wal-mart. The Pinata was awesome in the sense that it wore out every kid. None of the kids could break through the box. After my wife gave it a GOOD SOLID whack, the kids were able to work on the hole and eventually busted all the candy loose. Pinata? 5 Stars Food? 2 Stars Cleanliness?0 Stars Service? 3 stars Meh. I've experinced better.

We usually go to the Luis's, but the line was even longer than normal. When we got to Lupita's it was empty so we were suspicious. We ordered the taco platter for two and it was excellent ! In fact everything was excellent, but especially the carnitas.

Roomy booths and loved the spicy green avocado sauce. The carne asada burrito was above average.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
