Okay so had been here a couple years ago when visiting friends, and the ultimate French toast was so memorable I has to come back! And it was just as wonderful this time. Quite possibly the best French toast in the world. It is actually a version of crunchy french toast but way better...i mean way better. it stays crunchy even with a bucket os syrup. This stuff is amazing! The only reason they are getting a four star is the service....well not as great. We did admiringly tell our waitress we weren't ready to order the first time and then it was like she just checked out. She would go back and forth by us in not a big place and not check back! However the French toast was so wonderful...well it is worth a stop of you are anywhere within 30 miles!

Got takeout once, so not a lot of experience here. Pros? -Fast -Average tasting food -Relatively cheap -Yummy latte Cons? -Bad job boxing up my stuff... oatmeal in a box with no milk... then milk in a bowl with oatmeal in a box? Disaster waiting to happen -Not very friendly customer service

Coffee was just ok, but no real creamer or half n half made the coffee experience less than ok (and what is really bringing this review down). There were International Delights nondairy pods on the table and nothing else was ever offered. Really? If you are going to use pods, at least use the real deal. You are in the land of COWS. A skip away from the legendary dairy cows of Tillamook for cryin' out loud. Service was pretty quick, but flat. As in affect. I want a little bit of perky in the morning. Breakfast food itself was fair, no wows though. Oatmeal was good, cooked as it should be and ordering oatmeal is always a crapshoot. We used the milk meant for oatmeal in the coffee instead. The French toast, pancakes and bacon were all ok, again nothing special. The butter was actually whipped margarine I suspect. It certainly didn't taste like butter, and again I couldn't get past the fact we were in the land of dairy and they weren't using it. Real half and half, real butter, and maybe a flavored butter such as huckleberry butter on a special item would be a wow thing to consider Serendipity.

Reviews are correct. Chicken Fried steak omelette was great. So happy we saw these reviews. Definitely a return engagement if we are up this way again!!!

Great little place with fresh, delicious food. We found it completely by accident' so the name was fitting. Waitress wasn't terribly friendly, but it was the fifth of July, so I'll assume it was fatigue related. That, or I looked like someone who wronged her. Would definitely come back for the food alone.

We stumbled on this great little cafe while on vacation in Oregon. I love eating at locally owned restaurants and this one was fantastic! Food was great and the servers were friendly and responsive. I had a breakfast burrito that was awesome, portions were very generous. My son had a "redneck" burrito that consisted of chicken fried steak and gravy wrapped up - he loved it. If you are in the Astoria/Warrenton area be sure to check out "The Dip".

Pretty restaurant (love the high ceilings!) with outdoor seating, but overall average in service and food. I had the southwest burger that was generous in size, had a delicious sauce, and a patty with a great char. It was not fun picking it up though, since the bun had an oily residue, I'm guessing from a generous amount of butter. The fries were regular straight cut, hot and plenty, but could have used some salt or seasoning. My plus one had breakfast and the hash browns looked perfect. I would come back here for breakfast, but prefer Uptown Cafe for lunch in Warrenton.

Love this place! Ate hear while camping over Labor Week and after the tourist trap prices you will find in Seaside and Canon Beach, this place was a breath of fresh air! Great prices, delicious food and the kids got mammoth sized pancakes for lunch, which they devoured. This will be an annual lunch spot for as long as we camp Ft. Stevens. The only con was that the service was a touch spotty but, that tends to happen at places that draw many locals who want to chat it up with all of the wait staff. That kind of community vibe just makes me appreciate a place more though.

On a very serendipitous road trip from San Francisco to Seattle, a cafe named Serendipity was a fitting choice for brunch. Espressos were delicious and the steak and eggs were on point. Service was friendly and attentive. Will always stop here during the next stay or pass through.

Serendipity was recommended to us by a local so we stopped by for a lite breakfast and some coffee. The ambiance of the restaurant is very casual with a few quirky decorations and a large vault on one wall. I hear that the building has some rich history to it. The restaurant features a drive thru coffee window. We ordered two breakfast croissants with egg, sausage and cheese. You can order them with ham, bacon or all three meats. The croissant was very large and delicious. The sausage was good, nice and peppery. The egg however seemed to be cooked on a very dirty, greasy part of the grill. It was unappealing. They have a large, delicious looking diner menu. I certainly would not hesitate to return and try some other items like the yummy looking french toast. Our server was nice enough, but the server waiting the table next to us was energetic and friendly. I think we would have enjoyed our time there more under her care. The whole restaurant smells like fresh brewed coffee which I find delightful.

This was our first time here, the food looks beautiful on a plate, presentation was great. Taste was good. My husband had the redneck omelet and he said he loved it! Nice sized portion. Price was resonable for his plate. I had the eggs Benidect. It was okay... i paid extra for the "sautéed spinach" and avocado. The price to add these on were a bit high for what i received . I recieved a sliver of avocado on each half, and a couple of pcs of spinach that were NOT sautéed. And the english muffin seemed like they pulled it out of the bag to the plate with out toasting it, seemed near stale. So that was a little disappointing. I told the staff, and she didnt seem like much help. My son had the kids pancake. It was a huge pancake, but the kids meal only comes with pancake, and egg OR meat, not egg and meat, so for that price in most other restaurants you get pancakes, eggs and meat. All in all prices we okay for the portions, the resturaunt itself was nice and clean, service was also OKAY, not super friendly, but decent, we might give it another try if we are back in this town. Maybe ill try an omelet instead since those seem to be a hit! :)

Poor choice to eat here the prices are outrageous here. They expect you to pay 12 bucks for a normal breakfast of 2 eggs 2 cakes and 2 sausage. Never again will I set foot in this scam of a restaurant

The experience we had here was fairly poor. The wait for our food was to the point where we nearly walked out, the service was fairly impolite, the staffing was far below what was required, and the food was not appetizing...if I had made it at home I would have been disappointed. Thus, I wasn't to glad to spend money here. I felt bad for an overwhelmed server, so I gave her 20% anyway...I told her they seemed understaffed and got a nasty look. You can do way better in Cannon Beach...it is worth your time to drive the extra distance to eat elsewhere. Eat elsewhere.

Delicious food! I was here on a nice, sunny weekend to explore Astoria and nearby places. Their special menu (don't remember the name) was super delicious.

Best place to eat in Warrenton, bar none! Prices are reasonable, staff is great, food is amazing! The 9-1-1 Burger is crazy good...and enormous.

I really love, love, love this restaurant! The food is amazing! The french toast is thick and yummy! The omelets are huge and satisfying! The staff is so friendly and nice. It's also super affordable food. The lunch menu is yummy too! I just wish they opened late. The hours are from 7am-2pm only. I think Sundays they are closed. I highly recommend this place! A restaurant you would want to keep coming back too!

It is so ironic that this amazing little spot is called Serendipity. I am always discovering new and unexpected things here every time I go. (which is a lot) Just when I thought that I had discovered culinary Nirvana (the place, not the cool band with the dead lead singer) with the basic hamburger, I dare say that the hamburger may be replaced in my "usual" order by something that really surprised me. The "Strip Sandwich" is my new go to breakfast / brunch / lunch favourite. Not only can I make off colour jokes about stripping chickens to anyone that will listen, I can enjoy this amazing sandwich. Once again, my mate the pub roll is used and is topped with two large deep fried chicken strips (almost feel and taste broasted), lettuce, onion, cheese, and mayonnaise (extra!! if you are me). The combination of crunch and a soft, fresh bun is so good. Damn it if I am not craving one now at this later hour. Three guesses where we are eating tomorrow morn and what I am getting??? So support your stripping chickens....they need love to. Enjoy!!!

I had the southwest breakfast burrito, so good! I haven't had a great breakfast burrito since living in southern Cal. The kids loved their pancakes & chicken nuggets, the hubby loved his sausage and egg bagel sandwich & the prices are great! Owned by a lovely Coast Guard family!

If your traveling between Astoria and seaside I recommend Gramas Kitchen. This place was just a common breakfast place. The biscuits looked homemade and tasted good. The eggs and hash browns were ordinary. The coffee is not good at all unless you like it watered down. Like I said just average.

Just ate here and it was pretty good! Typical cafe/diner food, nothing too outstanding but it is definitely a reliable place for a cheap, filling meal. I had the BLT on sourdough with potato salad. Potato salad was a little pickle-y for me and could have used a bit more flavor. I was a big fan of the sandwich itself, though! This is your place if you need something quick and good. Not great or phenomenal, but gets the job done!

More like a 3 1/2, but not a four. Really, it was just a bit nicer atmosphere and slightly different menu options than your average diner. That being said I enjoyed my chicken fried steak breakfast burrito and my wife enjoyed her Italian omelet. The thing that would have kicked this place up to a four for me would have been a bit more variety and some healthier options with the entrees instead of your typical toast and fried potatoes.

Food here is pretty good. That being said it seems that in the last two years their service has started lacking. They used to have 2 awesome waitresses that were attentive and great. We used to visit 2-3 times a week but then they changed the staff and it seemed to go down hill. Stopped in for breakfast today and although the food is good the service is not that great and I feel no need to return.

I had lunch here over the Labor Day weekend. We came in at the tail end of the lunch hour and the place was very busy. We were seated at one of the last open tables. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. What I appreciated most was that you could order a sandwich at a reasonable price and it was a reasonable size. I hate going to restaurants that charge you $12-$15 for a sandwich that's as big as your head. You can (and should) only eat half of it and take the rest home. My sandwich was about $7 and was a perfect size and delicious. The other diners in my group had a burrito and a quesadilla. Everyone was very happy with their meals. My sandwich came with a side and I selected the potato salad. It was not to my liking. But, potato salad preference is a very individual thing. I can't say that because I didn't like it, other people wouldn't love it. The flavor was "off" to me. I can't explain it. I stole some fries from my fellow diners. They were great. If I find myself in Warrenton again during lunchtime, I will definitely stop in again.

I stopped back this past weekend to try their omelets. Something of a disappointment, I ordered the Italian which came with hashbrowns and bread. The omelet was good and had sausage, onions and mushrooms stuffed inside. The bread - the bread was awful - more like toasted discount bread that you could pack your TV with and move across country without breaking. The hashbrowns were equally bad. Burnt to a crisp flavor and small portion. I also had to wait more than 20 minutes for the food. I think I will stick to the burrito.

Uninspiring... and this is after eating camp food for 4 days... in the rain. The coffee was more tea-like than I prefer. A spoon doesn't have to stand up in it but on the same note you shouldn't be able to read through it either. We had to go up to the counter and wait for someone to take the time to come over to help... that was just for water refills and creamer for the coffees while we waited for our breakfasts. Not one of the 5 of us finished our breakfast and left still hungry. Seems like this is "the" spot for people to ride in or otherwise gather and chat... could be the conversations which draw people - I'm sure it's not the food nor prices.

Outside of building looks like a generic IHOP. Inside, the building is a cleared out bank with '80s furniture and new age murals. Odd mix of patrons; older, fisherman, and some tourists. Breakfast served all day but only open until 2. My pancakes were good, but average. Eating partner had an outstanding redneck omelet. A very good option given the limited breakfast choices in Astoria and Seaside.

I loved this place and wish we would have discovered it sooner! It was very clean and spacious with excellent customer service. They serve breakfast through dinner and do a great job with it. We went in for a late brunch. I ordered a huge salad that was loaded with toppings and a bowl of homemade chicken/rice soup. That bowl was ginormous! And it also came with a large piece of garlic buttered toast. My husband ordered a breakfast which came out with plentiful helpings. Kids meals came our larger than most kid meals at most restaurants. It seems to be more of a locals spot, but if you have ever been to Warrenton you would know the choices are slim! This is a must try when passing through or staying nearby camping at Fort Stevens or KOA parks.

Stopped in here on the way to the coast. Great place. Service was good even though they were busy. We had a breakfast sandwich that was really tasty and a cinnamon roll that was delicious.
