Worth the trip over the bridge from Astoria. Very nice atmosphere. Service is good. They were very hospitable to our group of eight. Food is fantastic! The Dooger Burger is huge. Seafood is delicious. Enjoy!

We normally visit the Seaside store but occasionally dine here. The menu is about the same (or maybe identical...I don't have eidetic memory). My favorite: salmon & chips is here but it also has red meat, salads, martinis, decent, fairly priced wine, etc. it is not best in the area but we think it compares favorably with several places that pretend to be better. Prices are fair. Service is good unless the place gets too busy.

Excellent meal our family had a great time. Thank you for having such a great staff, from the greeter, to the busboy and waiter. We really enjoyed ourselves on one of the busiest weekends of the year.

I've sat on this review for a few weeks prior to writing it. I didn't want to turn in a negative review because nothing was poor here. Meanwhile, nothing was good, either. How'd we end up here of all the restaurants in the Astoria area? We walked into to Josephson's Smokehouse and asked the employees where the best place to get local seafood entrees was. The young girl working recommended we go to Dooger's. She knew they had fresh fish, she said. She later told us she's bias because she worked there. We took a chance and headed here for lunch. Our waitress struggled. When we asked what seafood was local, she had no idea. She didn't know if the halibut was, any of the shellfish or salmon. She was nice, but if you work at a place that promotes some of these dishes you should be able to answer some of these questions. Honestly, this place reminded me of somewhere my 91 year old grandma would go. Very bland atmosphere. Little energy. Not much life. The food resembled stuff I ate at Red Lobster, the few times I was forced to go there with my grandma. While the salad that came with my meal had great dressing and fresh greens, the Cajun halibut was just ok. For example, if you've been to the Supper Club in Astoria you'd never walk in here again. My friend that got the razor clams wasn't impressed either. Before you think I'm bashing this place, keep in mind, I'm comparing it to good seafood restaurants and fresh seafood that's prepared well and cooked by chefs. If that's your idea of a good seafood restaurant, you might want to think twice about coming here. In fact, the next morning when we told our fishing guides we came here (they've lived here for 2 decades) they laughed at us. On the other hand, if the Red Lobster is your kind of place, you will love Dooger's. Simple as that.

Hadn't been to Doogers for 15+ years. Had dinner here late June, pretty disappointing. The restaurant is clean and appealing, lots of windows. Good location, easy to find. I had a bowl of chowder, dinner salad and fish and chips. The chowder was very thin, watery, but had a great taste. The salad was the usual bag of mixed greens (plus a few hard lumps of iceberg) with an ample topping of shrimp. The fish and chips was very disappointing - chips were fine though not many, the fish was about a half dozen fish nuggets, each the size of two tater tots stuck together. It was minimally satisfying, not the great meal I remembered. Had a burger an hour later to quell my hunger. This basically was a Denny's fish and chips dinner, how sad.

On our way back after a long day of site seeing, we spotted this place and decided to stop. I'm glad we did! The appearance of the restaurant doesn't stand out as anything exceptional. We were seated promptly and the waitress was quick to get our drinks to us. Since we had never eaten there before, she made some nice recommendations. The serving sizes were perfect and the food was very good! My girlfiend and fried cod and I had sauteed salmon. Everything was cooked just right and there was nothing left on our plates after we were done.

My husband and I were looking to have a nice seafood dinner and saw the good ratings for Doogers and thought we would give them a try. Very disappointed!!! For the price of steak and seafood you would have thought that it would have been prepared properly. Little to no seasoning on the food, the salad was from a bag, the steak that was ordered medium rare was very rare and only half the baked potato was done. The server was very friendly but not wanting the steak to go into the microwave we just asked for a box and took the steak home to put back on the grill. We should have just bought a steak at the store and did it ourself at home and gotten better flavor and saved thirty or more bucks!!!

Me and my husband got the seafood sampler. Most of it was good. We hated the fried oysters. It was kind of small for the price. Nothing special.

Service was friendly and prompt. We were there for happy hour. 4 items, 2 drinks came to just over $20. Food w as good and they had many gluten free options. Definitely worth it.

VERY poor service! The host had no personality what so ever. Once we were sat down, we waited over 10 minutes to be greeted by anyone... Which never happened. Ended up just walking out and going somewhere else. Have no idea how the food tasted... But the restaurant had a really fishy smell to it... Not pleasant at all.

Very reasonably priced. Excellent staff. Great food. Best part is that the kids menu is cheaper, but the portions are the same as the adult menu. So those kids on the edge of being too old for a kids menu won't be left hungry.

I came here on a Friday night and waitress were friendly at first but when I was seated the waitress didn't seem to notice me. They were preoccupied by other customers and they were chatting up a storm while I was being ignored. Finally after 10min they took my order and gave me my food while they scurried back to their service counter. After I finished my meal I went up to the service counter to get ringed up and the lady glares at me like I killed her puppy and she was very demanding. She said"this is your bill and hurry up and pay" how rude I was so frustrated that I gave her the money and left. How rude never ever coming their again.

Eat here all the time. Stopped by today to get the SST (soup=chowder, salad, toast), but changed my mind and went with the clam strips, fries, and added chowder along with a salad loaded with shrimp. Greeted and seated promptly when entering. Waitress (Michelle) very attentive and friendly as always. Food is quite tasty and consistently good. I have been coming here for years and haven't had a bad experience. One of the best happy hour bar food deals around. I highly recommend, it is my parents favorite spot as well.
