Tamales were amazing. Almond chicken was to die for. Blue corn tortillas on the tacos was a nice touch.
The Mexican food here was unique. We had a tamale as an appetizer for $2.95. It was delicious! I had beef filled empanadas which had the lightest shells. Almost like a Mexican phyllo shell. my husband had enchiladas topped with Mole sauce. They served these dishes with sauces on the side that ranged from mild to habanero!! It was unique to me that one of the sauces was a guacamole sauce in a squeeze bottle. Everything was very good and plated creatively. I also enjoyed a cilantro margarita. What really made this place special was how excited they were about their food and service. It was a happy environment. It is unusual to not be served chips and salsa, but i did not miss them at all.
Best Mexican food and service.. I've ever had since moving too the coast... so glade they opened.. been looking for Amazing authentic mexican foor, forever :-) Must Go!!

A group of us were headed to the beach and we planned on stopping in Astoria for breakfast. The go to place is usually Pig N Pancake. I knew there had to have been some place better then that. I used Yelp to look up a few places and Arnie's Cafe had a few good reviews. We thought we would give it a try and so glad we did. The food was so good. I recommend getting some bacon! The service was excellent! We even asked the owner where she got her bacon from and she let us know. Can't wait to go back!
Most excellent breakfast in a long time. So glad we found this place after deciding not to go to pig n a pancake!!
This place is great! Their hobo is especially good!

Okay so had been here a couple years ago when visiting friends, and the ultimate French toast was so memorable I has to come back! And it was just as wonderful this time. Quite possibly the best French toast in the world. It is actually a version of crunchy french toast but way better...i mean way better. it stays crunchy even with a bucket os syrup. This stuff is amazing! The only reason they are getting a four star is the service....well not as great. We did admiringly tell our waitress we weren't ready to order the first time and then it was like she just checked out. She would go back and forth by us in not a big place and not check back! However the French toast was so wonderful...well it is worth a stop of you are anywhere within 30 miles!
Got takeout once, so not a lot of experience here. Pros? -Fast -Average tasting food -Relatively cheap -Yummy latte Cons? -Bad job boxing up my stuff... oatmeal in a box with no milk... then milk in a bowl with oatmeal in a box? Disaster waiting to happen -Not very friendly customer service
Coffee was just ok, but no real creamer or half n half made the coffee experience less than ok (and what is really bringing this review down). There were International Delights nondairy pods on the table and nothing else was ever offered. Really? If you are going to use pods, at least use the real deal. You are in the land of COWS. A skip away from the legendary dairy cows of Tillamook for cryin' out loud. Service was pretty quick, but flat. As in affect. I want a little bit of perky in the morning. Breakfast food itself was fair, no wows though. Oatmeal was good, cooked as it should be and ordering oatmeal is always a crapshoot. We used the milk meant for oatmeal in the coffee instead. The French toast, pancakes and bacon were all ok, again nothing special. The butter was actually whipped margarine I suspect. It certainly didn't taste like butter, and again I couldn't get past the fact we were in the land of dairy and they weren't using it. Real half and half, real butter, and maybe a flavored butter such as huckleberry butter on a special item would be a wow thing to consider Serendipity.

This place was awful. We came in for lunch and had the buffet. The pizza was cold and bland. They served me a beer from the bottom of the tap and so it was cloudy. She promptly replaced it when I complained but she should not have served it. She was very nice but that does not make up for the food. Also, they only had 3 pizzas to choose from. Nice buffet??!!
Haven't used Yelp for years, but upon logging back in I realized that much of this old review is outdated and probably unfair at this point. Smoke is obviously no longer an issue on the barroom side, and it provides a nice place to eat, while the restaurant side is still more family-appropriate. This place remains a local favorite, and somewhere I wish I could visit more frequently.
This is the best pizza I have ever had. Last weekend we went there while on a family trip and my whole family said that it was better then the pizza place we had been going to for years.

Worth the trip over the bridge from Astoria. Very nice atmosphere. Service is good. They were very hospitable to our group of eight. Food is fantastic! The Dooger Burger is huge. Seafood is delicious. Enjoy!
We normally visit the Seaside store but occasionally dine here. The menu is about the same (or maybe identical...I don't have eidetic memory). My favorite: salmon & chips is here but it also has red meat, salads, martinis, decent, fairly priced wine, etc. it is not best in the area but we think it compares favorably with several places that pretend to be better. Prices are fair. Service is good unless the place gets too busy.
Excellent meal our family had a great time. Thank you for having such a great staff, from the greeter, to the busboy and waiter. We really enjoyed ourselves on one of the busiest weekends of the year.

We have tried this a couple times the place feels austere and is more for the tourists versus repeat business. We have not found the food or atmosphere pleasing. In a strip mall is okay but it shouldn't feel like it. The menu is a bit unremarkable and feels like Costco food. I'm not sure what my motivation would be to go back other than I happen to be at the auto store or Petco next door. The wait staff was clueless the first time we went and the second time we waited 15 minutes no menu or water was brought-they weren't busy so we walked out. The times we were served it was ho hum.
I used to love this restaurant, but 2 out of the last three times we've been forgotten. My significant other and I went in for lunch, the front part was fairly full, maybe 10 tables in various stages of dinning. We sat our selves which is always the case at this establishment. A women came and brought menus, water, and took our drink orders and then left. We sat for about 25 mins, while she walked back and forth, stopping and talking to the table next to us, seating another group and taking orders. Finally after she walked to the table next to us, made eye contact with me and then turned around and left again, I was irritated. We sat for another 5 mins then walked out, because it was apparent that we were not getting any service. This is now the 2nd time we have had this happen, the first time I had to find a waitress. The food here is good, but sometimes the service here is not, most likely won't go back anytime soon, nor will it get my recommendation.
I wanna give this place four stars, but I've had too many inconsistent experiences here, ranging all the way from cold food, perfectly cooked dishes, and everything in between. Aside from the painting that looks like a naked, blue Scott Baio with a cat on his head, the atmosphere inside is right on point. That painting needs to get tossed in a dumpster out back. Even though it's in the private function room, you can almost FEEL it's presence while you eat. I hope I can someday update this review with a better score, because I have hope for this restaurant, and I can definitely see that their heart is in it. But it needs a little fine-tuning before it gets there. Don't get me wrong, though. The food at the Uptown Cafe is a far cry better than what you would expect at your run-of-the-mill North Coast joint.

Loved the cheese enchilada with green sauce, Salsa was good and loved the guacamole. I'm from AZ and recently moved to the area..I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find good Mexican food, but I love this place. Service was great too! Very nice people.
Didn't love this place on my first visit on a recent Friday evening, but glad there is a Mexican restaurant in town. The guy working here was nice and attentive and generous with the refills. Chips and salsa are free, but the chips tasted a tad stale and the salsa saucy (i.e. not chunky) and served in small bowls that made it difficult for dipping. My chicken fajitas were served on a sizzling hot plate and heavy on overcooked veggies (but yay for mushrooms!). Refried beans were okay, rice on the greasy side and the flour tortillas reminded me out of cheap generic ones from the grocery store. Price wise, dinners were a few dollars more than I'm used to paying at Mexican restaurants. I sat at a booth a few away from the entrance and was cold most of the night. I like how they have options for hot sauce...besides the basic Tapatio, they offer a green sauce (tomatillo?) that comes in a small bowl.
Great prices, the meal I had was just average. To have a Mexican restaurant in Warrenton is a big deal though. Salsa was all right.

Love this location my family and I frequent this location multiple times a week. The manager who's name I believe is Richard is very nice and he's always so friendly. Not to mention he always makes our food with care but at the same time he is very fast. I give this manager 5 stars!!!!
Wow. Understaffed. About 8 deep when we entered. Very slow. We ended up walking out. On a good weather Saturday in January you got to be ready. Your losing business.
Employees are lethargic. Seems like they couldn't be happy if the president walked in. Food is standard Subway, delicious, but service was indifferent and that is sad. I recommend going elsewhere if possible.

My husband and I went there, one of his work buddies said it was good. They are yummy, the lobster is ohh so yummy and the cam chowder is sooo good, defiantly going back there. The staff was very nice.
For years my brother & I have been at odds when it comes to Baseball teams. For 60 years I have been a diehard N.Y. Yankee fan, since the days of Joe Dimaggio, Phil Rizzuto, Yogi Berra, Bobby Richardson, Mickey Mantle & Don Larsen, just to name a few. My brother, on the other hand was a diehard Brooklyn Dodger & still is a LA Dodger fan. So you can imagine the animated discussions that we had & still have. Well, I have to say that I have recently become a Dodger fan... No, not the LA Dodgers, the Dodgers restaurant, in Warrenton, OR.. A few weeks ago, my wife & I decided to take a ride out to Astoria. On the way there she Googled some restaurants. She found one that sounded interesting called Mixed Marriage, which specialized in Peurto Rican & Jewish food. So, we headed over the bridge to find Mixed Marriage, only to find that it was out of business. Better to call before you drive, next time. On the way here I noticed Dodgers just before we went over the bridge. I had heard of Dodgers but had never been to one. I decided to head for Dodgers restaurant, which I thought would be your typical, fried fish shack. Boy, was I wrong. Yes they have fried, clams, shrimp, oysters, etc.. But the rest of their menu was quite a surprise. They have a full dinner menu that has Pasta, Calamari, Petrale sole & steamer clams, just to name a few. They also have a fairly good assortment of burgers & sandwiches. My wife started off with the clam chowder, which she said was infinitely better than Moe's, big chunks of clams & potatoes & tasted like the clams were just shucked. I had a plain house salad. Plain is not the right word for it, unlike other restaurants, the lettuce was cold & crispy, the tomatoes looked & tasted like they had just been cut & the honey mustard dressing, which was served on the side tasted like it too was homemade. My wife then selected the clam strips, the server, & I'm sorry that I don't remember her name, told Marlene "if you're not that hungry I would suggest ordering from the lunch menu as it's a little less expensive" even though it was about 4:30 in the afternoon. The clams were small, tender on the inside & crispy on the outside, with french fries that were hot & crispy when they came to the table. They offer 3 kinds of fish for their fish & chips, Cod, Salmon & Halibut. They only offer the Halibut when it's fresh. I ordered the Halibut fish & chips. What can I say... nothing beats the taste of FRESH CAUGHT fish. The inside was white, firm & sweet, while the outside was crispy. The fries were also still hot & crispy when they arrived at the table. The pricing is very reasonable & the service was great. The restaurant is on the South(?) side of Rte., 101, just before you go over the bridge to Astoria. I guess that I am now a Dodger fan, restaurant, that is. Guess what.... I just realiized that the restaurant's called Doogers, NOT Dodgers. I guess that I'm still aYankee fan but I've also become a Dooger's fan. Go to my website baronsrestaurants.com to see our reviews of other restaurants.
Linguini alfredo with shrimp was good, garlic bread was great. Good service, but I didn't like the overpowering deep fried smell when we entered. Halibut sandwich had a huge piece of very lightly coated halibut, cole slaw was apparently yummy (but on the sweet side), crab sandwich needs to be better seasoned and lose the cheese, and the deep-fried scallops were plentiful. Wish they had had a really chunky Bleu cheese dressing, but their ranch was good. Clam chowder tasted like oysters and is too thin. Seemed spendy at $91 for 4 at early weekday dinner, no alcohol, including tip.
