Great spot to grab a beer after hiking in the gorge. Happy hour from 3-6PM with some good drinks (Blue Moon w/ an orange for $2.50, well drinks $3.25). Pulled pork sandwich is a favorite!!

What a great little place, that we didn't know existed. Such a easy place to get to right off the highway up the road a little ways. The atmosphere was great and the food was even better!! Everyone at our table loved their food. We will definitely go back again.

While this place looks like a bit of a dive on the outside, it is pretty dang good. The beer fondue is a must try. They have cheap beers and even a couple ciders. I had a salad and that was good as well, I would definitely go back.

BEST FISH AND CHIPS I HAVE EVER EATEN! Food, customer service, and wait time was all definitely a 5/5. The whole restaurant was very clean and felt comfortable. Our waiter was Jason and he did fantastic, always refilling our water if we needed and helped us as much as possible without being an annoying waiter. Great atmosphere. I'll definitely be back here and I'm telling my whole family about this place!

We have been here a few times with friends and each experience has been progressively worse. The servers and bartenders are extremely rude and act like they're being inconvenienced somehow by doing their job and staying open to serve guests. One day a nacho cost $9.50. The next day it cost $12.50 with .50 added for sour cream, which is supposed to come with the order according to the menu. It's shady practice and terrible service that will ensure we never contribute another dime to this restaurant. If this were my business, I would be ashamed.

Super food at decent prices! It was a geat find. Able to bring our dog to eat outside.

Very friendly staff, really good food, nice beer selection (though mostly bottle), outside patio and kid-friendly! Hard to ask much more. They have the best steak bites I've ever had. I hardly ever order the, but had a huge craving and they did more than satisfy it, they also had homemade sinus-clearing horseradish sauce. The onion rings were flavorful and the coating stuck to the onions. However for $8 we got 7 onion rings. That seemed a bit too much. And they'll soon be charging for sauces, too (instead of the BBQ and ranch that currently come with it. So the food was good quality, but some things are overpriced (like the onion rings) and a small tap selection, that's why I dropped it by two stars. If judged on steak bites alone, it's five stars!

The atmosphere was very friendly. Our waitress was quick to grab our drink order, a little slow after that, but she was still very nice. I ordered a 16 oz steak, which is just two 8 oz steaks put on the plate, with the clam chowder. The steak was a little over cooked (I ordered it rare) and the fries were a little over-seasoned, but the chowder was excellent! The soup/salad comes on the side of the plate instead of before the main as most places do. It's a ways out but I would go again if I was in the area.

Went for Dinner/Drinks with friends. Food was great & I LOVED the ciabatta bun they use for burgers! Pretty relaxed atmosphere, and the bartender/Server was nice.

  • Mandy S.

There is not one thing I've had here that wasn't absolutely delicious!! Their bloody Mary's are yummy, steak bites are seasoned to perfection, nachos with beer pub fondue?!? Out of this world. I love this place! They should offer more IPAs but other than that this is a great little pub with amazing food. Great service as well.

F-ing awful. Service bad. Food is mediocre bar food at best. Drinks.... Worst I've ever had anywhere. When my drink FINALLY made it to me, the ice was melted and it was watery. If you must dine here, stick to beer. The wine selection is awful. Really, there's not a good reason to come here. This is my second time I was summarily unimpressed.

Don't expect fine dining. It's greasy pub food. Done.

  • Heather S.

We *tried* to have dinner here tonight. After sitting at a our table for 20 minutes without even a smile from anyone who worked there, we left. There were a couple other families who left right after us too because they couldn't get any service. And the poor girl in the booth next to us had already been waiting to pay her bill for 15 min when we got there. Too bad too because it's such a cute and convenient place.

  • Theresa B.

Loved the gal that served us. The beer cheese is SO good! I got a pulled pork sandwich and it was amazing - I am picky with this dish but I must say I was a huge fan. My friend got the fish and chips and they were the best I've had in awhile. Lots of locals go here! Fun place.

Had the Pino Burger. Delicious habanero sauce. Waiter was friendly, service was good. Tv on in two corners, but the sound was low so it didn't bother me.

Had steak, it was really good. The staff were nice and the atmosphere was pleasant. I would eat here again

  • Gene M.

Not poor service, no service! Waited 15 minutes and not even a glass of water or menu. Nothing and the place was almost empty, that's not a good sign when a place is empty on a busy weekend

We love to hike and we love fish and chips. I've had fish and chips like...everywhere. Canada, uk, new Zealand, Hawaii, Cali...all sort of iterations, high brow, low brow..., and you know, fuck all that. These are some of the best fish and chips you'll eat. I had a Burger here once too, it was the kind of thing Bobby Flay dreams about when he's not ranting about Tex mex. Anyway, hiking...this spot is right on the way in/out of all the best spots one would go tl experoence natural beauty outside of Portland, the staff is friendly, efficient, and the food has been consistently awesome every time we've been...so it makes a great spot on your way to and from adventures east aside from just being an excellent restaurant. Anyway, 5/5.

  • Jessica L.

Great local spot! The pulled pork sandwich and fries were fantastic! The fries had a seasoning on them that made them extra tasty. The waitress was awesome! Super friendly and attentive.

Every time I am in the Portland metro, I make it a point to visit and eat here, time permitting. When we return to Tacoma from skiing we have to stop for a warmup and delicious food. It is one of the favorites we rairly pass.

  • Timbers 1.

The meatloaf was great! I was a little surprised when it came without the lettuce, buns, etc as it was described a sandwich with all of these items to come with it in the menu, but didn't. Either way, it was great! The meatloaf alone was good enough without all of the extras! This place has a good happy hour and the prices are reasonable as well. I will definitely be putting this place in the rotation moving forward.

  • Kolten L.

Never that impressed with the food here. Only reason I return every so often is because it's convenient, friends are meeting up here or for the fondue. I love fondue so every once in awhile I need a quick fix and don't feel like driving all the way out to Gustav's in Clackamas. Cozy atmosphere though.

Wish I could give it no stars. HORRIBLE service. And dont take your kids here b/c they have no kids menu. Unless you want to pay $10 for mac and cheese or $9 for a burger for your 5 year old. We came in on a Tuesday night. I was super excited to try this place as they had a nice outdoor area and we had never been. We sat FOREVER and no one came to our table. My husband finally got up to search out menus and to see if we could order drinks. Server finally comes to our table and brings 2 menus and walks quickly away before we could even talk to her. She finally comes over and I get a chance to ask for childs menu. She tells me they dont have one. OK.. I can deal with this, we will just order adult entree and go from there. The problem is she could have cared less about us. Everytime she came to our table she was practically RUNNING away and we couldn't even ask questions. I can't begin to tell you how awful the service was. We finally got up and walked out. We will never go back. Interesting as I read through others reviews many say the SAME thing as me, in fact one person was there the exact same night as I was. Seems to be a standing problem through out the months though. GET IT TOGETHER. Also whoever said this place was 'good for kids' is VERY WRONG.

This place is my jam! My wife and I love it. Never had anything off the menu we didn't like. Excellent food selection. My wife is addicted to the Fondue Nachos and their Bloody Mary's. My faves so far have been the Ruben, and the meatloaf plate. They have decent beers on tap. Mixed drinks are good too. And when you really want to keep it classy the have $1 tall boys of Oly all day long, son. The wait staff is so awesome and friendly. We just moved to the neighborhood and the staff is very welcoming. This place is definitely a cool spot to check out if you are in the area!

Sat outside....waiting for quite some time before being brought a menu. Ordered a Raspberry Margarita that tasted like it had zero alcohol in it. My second drink I opted for a Blue Moon. At least you can't go wrong with beer most of the time. The patio is pretty decent. The inside is nice and cozy. I saw someone order the fondue and wish I had gotten it myself. I ordered the $3 wings on the happy hour menu. First off they were boneless wings. I wish they had noted this. The sauce was an odd peppry BBQ, not buffalo. Served with some watered down ranch. Service is quite slow here. Not sure if it was the day/time or what but there was only one bartender/server. I wouldn't come here if you were in a hurry. I only got waited on twice over an hour. I had to go in to close out. Two drinks and some wings was only $12. Not terrible. The HH menu isn't that bad. I would give it one more try and make some different drink/food choices.

Went there tonight and for 5he very first time I got really bad service, I go here regularly and know just about all the servers. I sat down and waited 15 min for a menu and drink order and no one ever came to my table. I watched 3 other couples come in and they were greeted right away. . Maybe I'm dead and invisible and just don't know it yet.

We stopped on a whim for lunch. The outside of the building was well cared for and inviting. Our waitress greeted us with a smile and extra menu immediately on our arrival. We all chose the daily special, a rueben and fries. It was good, though one of the party said it is not as good as a New York Jewish deli rueben. Of course, New York is almost 3000 miles away... We finished with a shared brownie a la mode that was delicious. For a quick choice lunch stop, this was a fine meal.

ok..came here after a hike up to the top of Multnomah Falls!! This place was recommended by a neighbor, and we thought, why not, had not tried this yet!! Its cute inside, and cozy, not really busy for a Saturday afternoon, so we got a booth and watched the Kentucky vs. Louisville..Kentucky won!! Anyway, we ordered a glass of wine for $8.00, not a good pour, and Coors Light, cold and not flat!! The jalapeno artichoke dip was good, but wished I would have been told about the happy hour menu!! Hubby ordered the Farm Burger, hard to hold but good. I ordered the Buffalo wrap. Both entrees were pretty good, but, I will say, my biggest complaint was that the blue cheese dressing on his salad and my ranch (which I was charged .50 cents for, for my fries), were not good at all. I know it's a bit petty, but if I have to pay extra for it, it should be worth eating!! Watery and tasteless for both dressings!! I would recommend this place but don't have high expectations. The servers we saw and had were really great and professional, our server was Ashley!! The other gal I didn't catch her name, but very nice too!! So, we might go back on a hot summers day to have a nice cold brew, maybe an appetizer, but thats about it!!

Great place with great food! We have been waiting for a good resturant to open in town. The atmosphere was great--and pool in the back! Our new hang out!

  • Jeff B.

We won't be returning. The burgers are all bun with the smallest burger; cut the price by 75% and call them a slider. The nachos come with FONDUE CHEESE WTF! Chicken Wings are now small boneless wings for $1 each for 6 of them. The only thing that were priced well was the fries. I only make it in here about every 6 months or so since I live in Washington. Stay away! I understand cost cutting, but this is customer cutting.

She has a poultry allergy ( yes, that sucks ), so ordered the veggie sandwich with (sub) potato salad (can't have the fries cuz they use the same fryer for chicken. Other establishments please note ;) ). I had a side salad (typical fare, unremarkable) and the garlic bread (flavorful, but pedestrian). The beer is cold, the staff is friendly and all things being equal, had a good time and would probably come back if we get this way again. Love the fact that dogs are welcome!

I suppose I should begin with the caveat that there's not much to choose from in Troutdale, so one needs to temper one's expectations. Nevertheless, I've accidentally happened upon more than my share of awesome small town dives in my day. It's one of the simple joys of life in my view. And with a name like "Ye Olde Pub", I figured it could go either way. All of that said, and borrowing from the faux 'olde English' theme, methinks this place isn't very goode. I stopped in for lunch with a friend of mine a few days ago after a cold hike in the Columbia Gorge. We were chilly and hungry when we walked in. This was early afternoon on a Thursday. We were the only ones in there at first. The waitress/bartender (bar wench?) was extremely personable and friendly. Only four taps, one devoted to the dreaded Coors Light, but they did have Ninkasi IPA. So far so good. The soup of the day was African Peanut with chicken, and my friend asked if she might have a sample. The amiable bar wench presented my friend with a sample, and offered up 'ye olde dirty spoone' with which to eat it. My friend rubbed ye olde dirty spoone clean on the tail of her shirt with a grim and determined stoicism, and we both did sup on thine soup sample. And verily, that soup sample was not goode. Soon additional patrons arrived. Twas a windy day at Ye Olde Pub, and the front door hath a poor clasp. The wind would blow the door right open, drafting my cold travelling companion and me with gusts of icy cold air. So thereafter, as each new highwayman, traveller, or wayfarer arrived, mine companion would stand to clasp the door shut. For sooth. I kidde thee not. I ordered a burger with ye olde onion rings. Their burgers come on a ciabatta bun, which is unfortunate. It always ends up being 'waye too much bune', which throws off the critical bread to burger ratio. I ended up chawing on this toothsome loaf wishing I could taste ye olde grounde beef, but alas twas not to be. They're trying to kick it up a 'notche' with the 'fancie bune', but they'd do well to simply use a regular hamburger bun. Onion rings were fine, for sooth, but then again its hard to screw up onion rings. Long and short of it? Pretty lousy food. Limited taps.

Delicious home cooked food. I had the special of the day. Shepards pie, it was fantastic. Side salad came with it. Not just a leaf of iceberg and a couple croutons, it came with mixed greens, olives, onions, tomatoes and garlic croutons. Spheres pie had chunks of carrots, corn and great mashed potatoes made from scratch. I needed a spoon! Food is always good here.

Really cute place in troutdale but is right by the police station so be careful. Also for being a pub not much beer on draft. Had some really good specials and the food was hearty and nicely priced.

  • Brianna W.

If you haven't been here you're truly missing out! It is absolutely delicious! The beer fondue is amazing. The rest of the food is to die for as well. I strongly suggest this place, for anyone and everyone. My personal favorite is the "This and That" which comes with beer fondue and bread or chips, fries, onion rings and mozzarella sticks. Definitely a splurge for the calories but well worth it! :)

This place came recommended to us by Mark Pearce from the Mt Defiance winery. We walked directly across the street from the gallery and there was a cute little pub. It was slow that day, of course, it was after the lunch rush. We had a burger and some fries and they were most tasty. They had a nice area out back where you can eat as well. The day was nice but not quite warm enough for me to want to eat outside yet. I'll definitely check this place out again. It was a nice find in the city of Troutdale.

  • Danielle C.

The bartender was very friendly, but the service was mediocre. The beer fondue had great flavor, but the consistency of chicken broth. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the prices are fair.

If you want a great place to spend an afternoon, this is the place. The staff is always friendly and attentive. We've been there often enough that the waitress brings us our favorite drink as soon as we sit down. Our favorite menu item is the nachos with beer fondue cheese. You can't go wrong with the happy hour menu, either.

I have only been here a handful of times. Very friendly staff. There happy hour food is great. It's close to home personally for me so that's a plus.

Great food! I had the pulled pork sandwich and my hubby had the burger. The waitress was very hospitable. A great place to eat after a long day up the scenic highway.

  • Chris E.

The lady seemed nice enough, but methinks that a place should not be able to call itself "Ye Olde Pub" and not have Guinness on tap. That alone would bump the rating at least two stars.

    (1)
  • Michael S.

Not impressed. Smoking seems to be allowed at the outside seating...and blows In the open door. Food was boring and beer selection tired. A noisy local character was a bit much more than I preferred.

Love this place. The bartenders are always nice and the beer fondue is amazing! It's a cool place to hang out on a Friday night

This place is a big positive for Troutdale, as options are limited. There is always Edgefield, but there prices keep increasing. Ye Old Pub is small, has good food, is priced about right, maybe a little on the high side, but there aren't many other options. I like the fondue, fish and chips, and the philly. They have a great inexpensive Happy Hour. If you are heading out to the gorge, give this a try for lunch.

The Western burger was awesome! A classic pub feel with a right at home atmosphere. Well worth it!

We went to Ye Olde Pub because it was too hot to cook dinner last night. The place was about half full when we got there at about 715. I don't think the place has air conditioning, as the doors and windows were open and it was really warm inside. We were promptly greeted when we walked in and told to sit where ever we wanted. The gal came over pretty quickly and took our drink orders. We had to find our own menus to check out the food choices. She came back with the drinks and said she would right back to take our food order. Right back= about 35 minutes. She made eye contact with me as she walked past and said 'did I ever take your food order?'. 'no'. 'oh! so sorry, i'll be right back'. And 5 minutes later she was! I ordered the fish and chips and my husband ordered the Western burger with a chicken breast instead of beef. The food came out about 45 minutes later. My fish and chips were about the size of silver dollars and looked overcooked (see photo). My husband wanted to send them back but at this point I was hot and hungry and ready to go, not wait another 45 minutes. The fish didn't taste as burned as it looked. My husband's chicken Western burger was good. The chicken was cooked on an actual grill; it tasted like BBQ. Side note, at the table behind us someone had ordered chicken on their burger instead of beef and it came out as beef. I feel sorry for their wait as it was replaced. I only left a $3.00 tip on a $24 dollar bill because the service was not good at all. There was no acknowledgement of how long we had to wait which makes me wonder if this is how they always roll? The gal was the only person taking care of the tables as well as running the bar. The was a guy there that was bussing the tables but that seemed to be all he did. We won't go back, which is a bummer because there are so few good choices to eat at in Troutdale.

This place may not look like much from the outside...actually it doesn't look like much inside either. But what an extremely pleasant surprise. They have a decent selection of micros & domestics, and the wait staff were very polite and attentive, belying their young-hipster-dude looks. The food is outstanding. It's pub fare, to be sure...no surprises there. The surprise is the quality. We had the jalapeno artichoke dip for a starter, which was choice. Then I had a burger with potato salad. Best potato salad I've had in a long time. Outstanding burger on a ciabatta bun. We'll likely be back here soon.

  • Barbara C.

Delightful place. Goode food. HOWEVER, we were shocked when presented with the bill. We wanted the soup & sandwich. We always split a sandwich. They had S&S -- whole sandwich w/soup for $6.95 and 1/2 sandwich w/soup for $4.95. We decided on the whole sandwich with an extra cup of soup. And the cup of soup was a very small cup. But very goode. And on the bill we were charged $3 for the extra couple thimbles full of soup AND $2 for a "plate" split. It wasn't even served on a plate, but in a basket with a little piece of paper in it. Throw out the little paper and, voila, the basket is ready to use again. Not even an extra plate to wash! I'm not typically a cheapskate, but even I was startled by this. To the pointe I would likely not go backe.

I have been here about 6 times. The food is Phenomenal. There were little growing pains with the wait staff, but with the hiring of an experienced manager, I think they have it down. The beer cheese fondue is addicting and the nachos are great.

  • Carlee B.

I love this place! I live right up the street and this wonderful little gem has become a fast favorite of mine. The food is almost always great (fish and chips not the best), especially their burgers and meatloaf. I have been in the service industry forever and usually I am really critical of waitstaff. Ye Olde Pub has the greatest staff, and they work their tails off! You might have to wait a few minutes, but that's because there is usually one girl running the show, and she makes it worth it. I have never had a bad experience here, it is always welcoming and fun. So glad that the pub landed in Troutdale, and I sincerely hope they stick around for a long time.

  • Michael D.

So this is my second time here at Ye. Took my Mom and sister along with the boys. This time the service was not so good. The server, Jeremy, was on his cell txting multiple times instead of tending to customers and once we received our food, which was great, we were not given napkins nor was there any question for refills on beer or the water. A little bummed on this go around.

My wife and I went there again yesterday. I've been to the establishment at least, 10 times or more. The food is OUTSTANDING. As one previous poster stated: Pub fare. But this is GOOD pub fare. Yesterday, the special was "Mac and Cheese with Baked Beans and one additional side". Although I did not want to have that as my main course, they were kind enough to prepare a bowl of the Mac and cheese, so we could try it. My wife and I LOVED it. Absolutely delicious. I had the Chicken Club sandwich. There is NOTHING that compares to their version of this sandwich. One gets a nice piece of chicken breast on a Ciabatta roll, with Ham, Bacon and the trimmings. I ordered the Onion Rings in lieu of the fries. Absolutely delicious. I would suggest this fare to anyone. The wife had the Meatloaf plate. Said it was delicious as well. She gave me a sample of her meatloaf. One can taste some of the BBQ flavor in it. Very nice.
