This restaurant seems like a bar that would have food as an after thought, but the food was exceptional. The lasagna was light and airy almost like a cannelloni. It was made with homemade pasta and sauce. Very delicious! The Bronx salad was fresh and surprisingly good for such a little bar type restaurant. The bread on the Philly sandwich was flaky and better than most sub sandwiches found elsewhere. We expected average food and were pleasantly surprised by this little gem of a restaurant.

Had lunch in this little place while waiting for RV service at Camping World across the street. Nice little surprise. Basically a cafe/bar layout, with several booths and tables in the eatery in the front which allows kids, and a "no minors" bar area farther back, separated by.... a pool table! Anyway... Minimal NY deli/pizzeria type menu, with decent variety for lunches or light dinners. Pizzas, calzones, various pasta, and a long list of subs, sandwiches and such. (Drink options are much more extensive). Food is a little pricey, but not bad. Service was a one person operation. "Peanut", a sweety of a server/cook/bartender, was a tiny whirlwind quickly getting our drinks and orders before rushing back to prepare the calzones we ordered, right there next to the pizza oven, where we could watch her expertly assemble and prepare the "pies", before throwing them in the oven, and gayly trotting over to serve another customer. Not sure how she'd survive a lunch rush though! The calzones themselves were great! Perfectly browned, flaky crust around a generous ("choose your ingrediants") load of hot meats, olives, mushrooms and cheeses. Turned out to be a nice "find".

I agree with the other reviewers, the food is excellent! The salad dressings are all house made, and every part was nice and fresh. The calzones and sub's, with house made marinara were great.

Stopped here with the wife and granddaughter because we try to eat at local restaurants. WOW!! I believe one of the best pizzas I have ever had and the garlic bread was outstanding. The staff was very friendly.

The bronx bar is located in a travelodge- with that being said the waitress was sweet in helping us figure out which foods they were not out of at that time while ordering, but they were out of quite a few things. The food was okay- and we did have a $4 glass of "champagne" that was a huge pour. All in all a mehhhh experience, I won't be back.

You know those dive looking places that draw you in like a moth to the flame? This was it for us. It sits right at the end of 238th and Sandy Blvd in Troutdale, so when you are at the light to turn onto Sandy Blvd you are looking directly at it, located in the front of the Travelodge. We had coupons for them in the Entertainment book and thought, why not try them and see what is on the other side of those magic glass doors. We went in at 11am and it was just us. Which is kind of what I expected. They do Italian food here and no it is not the freakin' Olive Garden, but would you want it to be? The coupon is pretty good, it was BOGO for up to $10 and a large pizza here is $10. We both ended up with subs though, thinking 2 pizzas that early in the day may be a tad much. I got a Manhattan which was pastrami and corned beef thinly sliced on a toasted bun. The meat is really generous and we had upgraded from the $5 sub to the larger size for $8. You get a choice of macaroni salad, potato salad or cole slaw. It is all Reesers brand, which if you like it, then yippy you hit the jackpot. My son had the Globe Trotter, which was sausage, meatballs and chicken on a toasted roll with marinara sauce. We thought the sandwiches were an easy 4 star, the sides and the garlic toast was average. The cost is low and the portions are much bigger than I thought they'd be. There was just one waitress there and she was making it it all right behind the counter and she kept coming over to make sure we had everything. We added olives, onions and peppercini at no extra charge. I am sure the Travelodge patrons hit this place up frequently, as it has full bar service and lotto, but it was a good value and even better if you have the Entertainment book coupon. It has a homey feel to it, so if you are looking for glitz and glamor this isn't the place for your fancy yearnings, but if you want a big meaty sub, you've found the place.

Excellent bar food. The pizza was great. The reuben sandwich and philly cheesesteak were also great. However, this establishment is a bar - pool table, arcade games and NY sports teams pennants on the walls - the ad on Yelp says "eatery", but the sign above the door says "bar/restaurant". No kids allowed.

This place is a little divey but, the food is really good. I have never seen this place busy which I am somewhat disappointed as I hope is does not go away. Its not very big, there is not very much seating and located in an odd spot. I generally find one thing I like at a restaurant and stick with it. I love the calzones!

Some of the best pizza on the far east side, its good every time. It's made right in front of you if you sit at the bar. All the hot sandwiches are also worth a try. Don't expect to see many people hanging out or eating. The atmosphere is kind of weird. Usually you will find Telemundo or Univision on with a soccer game or spanish language soap blaring from the TV. Skip the chains joints and Flying Pie, and get your pizza at The Bronx Eatery. Unfortunately you'll have to eat in or call ahead and pick up because they don't deliver.

Seriously. 5 stars. This restaurant attached to the Travelodge near I-84 has food that lives up to its name, a true homage to the East Coast Italian pizza place/deli. Perhaps this isn't a destination, say from Portland, but if you find yourself in the area, it is certainly worth a trip, assuming you are in the mood for lots of marinara, meat, melted cheese and sauteed onions and peppers. There are several grinders with variations of these and other delicious ingredients. All will be on a warm toasted baguette and served with either macaroni or potato salad. Subs are offered in 5" and 8" options. 5" will fill you easily. These are serious, legit subs. Biting into the sandwich is an experience that I long for again. Perhaps it is worth the trip out to Wood Village (Troutdale). In addition to the best Italian grinder I've had (since my eggplant parm from *Shut Up and Eat), the service was friendly and fast. Yes, yum, yes, highly recommended!

In all things deli, my litmus test is to find a reuben or some form of corned beef on a roll that is never stringy or with inedible bites of gristle. I have found a spot that has never disappointed--enough so that I was able to venture into other types of sandwiches. This little gem is at the North end of 238th in the Travel Lodge building (near Walmart). It used to always be closed when we tried to go but in last couple of years seems to have regular hours...Pizza, calzone and (the reason I write this) sub sandwiches that are absolutely delightful. Beautiful rolls that are toasted perfectly. Tender meats. Excellent portion sizes (healthy but not grotesque). A 9" will give me two meals unless I am ravenous. They don't waste my time with extraneous sub ingredients--like vegetables--a definite bonus; just cut right to the meat, cheese, and bread with a dollop of mustard. Served with mac or potato salad--which was red potatoes with a decadent amount of creaminess--on the side. Simple, yummy, priced right, consistent. A favorite lunch stop when we are coming back from a hike in the gorge.
