First time to grab a bite here. Not a fan of their chili cheese dog. I thin they because of too much dressing. I love the bread tho! Soft and moist. Tryin their chili cheese fries next time coz my bf ordered the regular one so..

The thinnest burger Ive ever gotten in my life, paper thin. I hate writing bad reviews, I thought i was in one of those practical joke TV shows.... sadly I was not. When the bacon is thicker than the burger, thats a problem. I expected more for this price point.

I was walking by this little kiosk after another disappointing trip to my least favorite mall when the smell of grilled onions got a hold of me. That was one tasty burger!

Stopped by for a quick bite before catching a movie across the way. We waited a little bit for our order, which tells me everything was fresh made. Joe's Classic Cheeseburger with the sauce was on-point. Fries were crispy & hot. Oreo milkshake was just delectable. Decently priced too!

I asked for a veggie burger and didn't realize that it had sauce on it, asked for a new one with sauce on the side. they made me a new burger, but when I asked for sauce on the side the boy said "wasn't the point to have no sauce" no my burger boy friend, the point is for you to make my burger the way I want it with a smile on your face. Burger was ok, fries were hot and customer service could be better.

The burgers are good, maybe not In N' Out good but pretty good. The fries were proper with good quality salt on them, but not too much and my Arnold Palmer was mixed just right as in not tooth destroying sweet. The main reason I like Joe's is that they use grass fed natural Oregon beef, that's a very important thing for me as I feel like enough of a jerk just eating meat as it is and grass fed is much better for you. This location is in the very yuppie yet very pleasant Bridgeport mall and I actually feel pretty comfy sitting outside with my dog and baby, munching a tasty burger and watching the people go by.

Joe's burger is a decent place for burgers. tastes fresh, no doubt. the main problems here are 1) thin patties, way too thin 2) kind of pricey for the medium sized burgers frys are pretty bad as well. the burgers are still fairly good if you're looking for one while shopping in the area

Still delicious! I brought my husband and kids with me this time. The hot dogs are good. Foot longs loaded with onion, mustard and a little relish-how a hit dog is suppose to be. Junior(kids) burgers and dog, come plain-just ask to add sauce , tomato, etc. My husband thought it was good; which is amazing because he finds anything to nit-pick if money is spent. Keep it up, Joe!

Wish I had gone to Carl's Jr. I prefer to buy local but better Is better. I had been shopping for hours at Bridgeport Village. I was in and out of quite a few stores, on the hunt for a specific item! Every time I came out I smelled the sweet deliciousness of grilled meat! It was taunting me! I hadn't had dinner and needed to finish my task! I finally finished and ran to Joes Burgers! I was so excited! The counter girls were super sweet. They were great. It kinda seemed to take a long time to get my bacon burger and fries. Guess they wanted to make sure they were both extra crispy. what the fudge? When it was eventually ready I asked for a bag. No Bag! One is required to carry ones order of extra greasy to the car in a grease streaked thin cardboard carrier! What the fudge??!!??! I think Joes assumes or expects all burgers to be consumed on the premises! This is not my first greasy experience to a Joes. I went to the PSU campus location 2 years ago. I called and spoke with someone then about my grease covered box. No progress, apparently! Once home the food was abysmal!! The fries were way over fried and so was the bacon. Seriously! Do NOT ever let me choose Joes over Carl's Jr again! Judge me all you want. I work out a lot and eat pretty clean and great 99% of the time. So when I spend $$ on fast food, it needs to hit the spot!

I good option for a quick bite while shopping at BPV. Everything tastes really fresh and is prepared quickly. I like that they have American cheese as an option.

This is honestly such an amazing place to grab a burger at. It's right in the middle of Bridgeport Village. The burgers are some of the best I've ever had, and the sweet potato fries are amazing. The Double Joes Classic Burger is the best, and the sauce they use is mouthwatering. If you're looking for a great burger joint, go to Joes!

Love love love their turkey burgers The grilled onions, the bun and the secret sauce make the turkey burger one of the best I have found And love this location-great outdoor seating and a lot of awesome people watching Also great that they open at 11am

  • Rose B.

Ignore the fact that Joe's is an outdoor kiosk, their food is too good to miss! All made to order and in a timely manner. The best onion rings I've ever had. Staff is friendly and the outside seating is great for people watching.

This really was a cool little burger place. We were out walking around and shopping at this outdoor mall place called Bridgeport. I could smell something pretty good. It turned out to be Joe's. We ordered a couple of Burgers and fries.along with some bottles of water. All less than $20.00 and they cook it all fresh. They even gave us wet wipes, which came in very handy. You can sit outside and eat on these nice little table and chairs they provide. We thought it was a great way to spend the afternoon. Lots of parking in the covered parking garage.

Updating my previous post....I came in February 21st in the evening. Joe I really appreciate your involvement in this matter. When an owner takes time out of their busy schedule to deal with a customer issue I see that you value your company...Joe's Burgers! Much respect and hopefully you will be able to solve the matter.

They should call it a "chili paste" dog looked pretty sad, my three year old could of done a better job. They told me it had onions on it guess what? No onions surprise! Hesitant to try anything else now. Guess that's what I get for eating a hotdog at a burger joint.

It was okay. Nothing to make a special trip for. It has outside seating with heat lamps... That was nice. Kids weren't impressed and didn't finish the burgers or fries.

This place is pretty convenient if you happen to be shopping at Bridgeport, otherwise the parking is kinda chaotic and may make you go postal (given that it's situated in an outdoor mall). The burger itself was actually really good and I had a double that didn't take too long to disappear. It's a little greasy and not on the side of gourmet but if you are looking for a good example of the typical American burger this one does the job pretty well. Only down side was the price seemed only slightly higher than I would have expected.

I have been to Joe's about 5 times now. The burgers have a good flavor and balance of toppings/condiments. The only minor issues I had was sometimes the build consistency (i.e. bun crushed thin, having to re-stack it to get everything back onto the bun). The flavor is very close to an In-n-Out burger. The fries are good. Sometimes the onions were sweet and sometimes they were a little sharp tasting and this could have been a seasonal availability thing. Not a lot of good seating during cold or wet days due to the outdoor kiosk setup. I like them a lot, but have a couple of other choices I would make rather than a special trip.

I was real excited to try one of Joes Burgers. I opted for the mushroom swiss burger. I was very disappointed. First the good. Good Bun and sweat potato fries. The burger patty itself was the smallest, thinnest patty I have ever seen. Plus the paper thin patty with mushrooms was burnt. Do yourself a favor and go to Carls. For $5 you can get two delicious burgers. Instead of the $5.75 I spent at Joes paper thin burger. And Carls they have chili cheese fries that are a meal by themselves.

Pretty legit little burger joint. I was looking for a good burger to finish the weekend and found it at Joes. I liked how simple and fresh it was, the fries were hot and crisp. This is the closest I've had to In & Out in Oregon, not that I'm trying to compare because they were different but quality was pretty damn good! I saw that they had corn dogs on the menu, I think I will try these next. Oh, and any place that will make you an Arnold Palmer gets 2 thumbs up in my book!

    (4)
  • Janet S.

Fries were great - not so much the burger. It was so thin that the burger would have tasted the same if the patty was there or not.

Best chili cheese burgers around. If you know what tommy burger is in southern California this is the closest to the taste. Nothing beats a great tasting chili cheese burger and chili cheese fries.

The hamburgers are nothing special. Expensive. Had better food at Wendy's. The kids that work there need to be re-trained. Unfriendly staff and lackluster effort. Won't return.

Given that we don't (and won't ever) have an In-n-Out Burger here in Oregon, this is as close as we'll get. I feel that most people feel that absolute key to a good burger is the meat and other ingredients. While I feel this is true to some degree --and all other things considered equal -- where a burger shines is in its buns. Five Guys could be as good as this place if they just used quality buns, and that's why I think Joe's Burgers are the best in Oregon currently.

  • Tony T.

Very Simple burgers yet very tasty. It's always nice to grab while you're waiting for a movie to start! Conveniently located right in front of the movie theater and directly outside of the Apple Store. They even have a heated covered Pagoda if you end up going to the outdoor mall in the winter time.

  • Amy B.

I think one reviewer hit the nail on the head when she said that it's a pretty good burger for a mall. And that is the perfect description of this burger. It is made fresh to order which is great, but it also takes time to cook, so be prepared to wait a bit. In a mall where there are sit down restaurants all over the place, Joe's does stand out as one of the few fast food places with decent food. I am always looking for a good burger. This does not win that title by any means, but it's sure a whole lot better than most places. I am a sucker for sweet potato fries, so be sure to try those out if you stop by. Even though it is an outdoor kiosk there still are are places to sit that are covered and have heaters, and I just noticed they even brought out more covered seating recently. So this place is just not for those summer dinners waiting for the concerts, this is also for the seasonal shoppers that need to rest a minute before they continue on.

okay..... I may have a slight thing for chili burgers..... as in I go nuts when I find a good one. Now The first time I was there I asked if the chili was a regular chili or a coney island type ..... they poor guy behind the counter had absolutely not one clue as to the words that were coming from my mouth. I decided to risk having a soupy bean mixture or a wonderful coney island sauce. It was Coney Island style where it is a thick sauce....oh yummy. so when I first got it I thought....oh my....there is very little sauce but as I ate I realized it only needed like a spot more to be perfect. It is served with mustard and onions in a true coney island fashion. My taste buds danced they were so happy. My mother and I go here before movies and she always gets the cheese burger and well....... considering I cant get her to talk while she is eating ..... I figure she loves hers lol. The fries are good and the burger travels well. I often just drive over there and get a burger to go.

It was okay! Nothing special. I ordered the Chili Cheese burger, there were just 2 drops of the chili for extra 50 cents (not very good chili either). :( I spent $8 for burger, fries & small coke. For me, it was expensive for just an ok meal, nothing special meal. Especially, when I just ate an amazing meal at Flogene's food cart for $6 just a day before. The staff was nice & helpful. Good location. On the nice day you can sit out right by the large Gazebo.

I cannot believe I have not reviewed this place previously. This is a nice little kiosk stop in the Bridgeport Village Mall. The food obviously is made to go as this is only a kiosk. Every time I've eaten here I've been able to grab a table nearby which is nice to be able to eat outside. The food is decent and made to order and the YS and I were remarking after our Rachel's trip that we like the burgers and fries here better. I'll continue to search for the perfect burger but this one is pretty tasty in the mean time.

I'm on a quest to find that "great burger in town". I've always liked hamburgers and am always on the lookout for the great ones, but I've had some time on my hands and decided to try three new places this week. A few of my fellow food lovers recommended Joe's, so I decided to run to Bridgeport Village, have a burger and catch a movie while I was there. Joe's, at Bridgeport, is in a walk-up kiosk next to the Apple store, and few steps away from the movie theater. I got the double-patty basic "Joe's Burger" and a seasonal shake - the Peanut Butter Cup Milkshake. I'll get to this later. The most important part of the burger to me is the meat, and at Joe's I think it's just OK. It had a nice true beef flavor, but they were of the thin pre-formed type. The meat was moist and with their special sauce and all the fixin's, it was a good burger. Not great, but good. I'd happily eat one again. Now about that shake. For full disclosure, I must tell you that I love peanut butter and pretty much anything made with peanut butter will get my votes. This shake was really, and with the bits and pieces of peanut butter cups floating around the shake, it was one tasty treat. As I neared the bottom of the glass, I couldn't very well suck the bits and pieces up the straw, so I just popped off the lid, tipped my head back and let the last bits of shake and peanut butter cup pieces fall into my mouth. Heavenly! If you are in Bridgeport Village, then Joe's is a good place to grab a burger, if you are hankering. But for my quest, I'm still looking...

I had been anticipating trying this place out for a while. I had heard from a friend that it wasn't that great, but I'm stubborn. This time however, I should have listened. It is basically fast food quality burgers and fries. I will give it two stars simply for the mildly inspiring sauce and the average fries. I would prefer to go and get a REAL burger for a couple bucks more.

  • Snuggie D.

The burgers here are quite good. I generally recommend getting a double burger (two patties) because a single burger and a side of frys does not fill me (I'm not a big eater, neither am I a little eater). I don't mind waiting outside, but if it's raining it'll be a pain to find a spot to stay dry

  • Mikhail H.

You know what - this place is pretty damned good for a kiosk at a frigging mall. No joke - I walked by and decided to order because it smelled great! I plan definitely to come back and I will order exactly the same thing - a regular burger only add bacon + sweet potato fries and a large coke. They have a decent sized line for a reason. Yeah, it is not gourmet but for this is a burger at a mall. The price is pretty good too for what you get.

Reminds me (just a little bit) of my favorite burger joint... In & Out. They make fresh no-nonsense burgers for relatively cheap. It does make me realize how much I miss In & Out.....

Definitely, a meh. I find I am sometimes annoyed by outdoor dining kiosks of sorts at a mall. In a place where it rains all the damn time. And, there is hardly any seating, unless they put the plastic gazebo up and you are able to hog a heater and a hard seat. Surriously,,,, annoying. I came here for lunch with some co-workers, and was looking forward to a bunless burger after purchasing my gluten free cupcake at Sweetest Thing Cupcakes (red velvet, for inquiring minds). So, they wrapped my turkey burger into a big piece of lettuce. But, no silverware. It was very greasy, so basically, the piece of lettuce failed to contain said burger. Me trying to eat this thing was really an epic fail. I had grease running down my chin, pieces of turkey burger all over my hands, and a really soggy piece of lettuce. I spent a lot of money for some greasy meat, along with the fact that I scared every single man in this place away from me because I had remnants of food all over my face like I just finished a hot dog eating contest, and lost. And, I spent a bit too much to be in that competition. Thank God for my gluten free cupcake, and some fro yo at TCBY. Nothing cleans up grease better then some 98% fat free vanilla. Oy Vay.

Pretty good for a burger kiosk! I got the double burger with fries and drink as a snack to share with my husband. They can't cook the burgers medium rare (which is how I usually like it) but even so, the burger was very tasty and moist. Comes with lettuce, grilled onions and thousand island dressing. Even though its an outdoor kiosk, there is a comfortable enclosed seating area that is heated so even in the winter, you can leisurely enjoy your burger in the comfort of warmth and out from the rain.

So what was I doing at Bridgeport you ask? And more importantly, why was I eating a Cheeseburger? Well, wonders never cease and the world has not fallen off its axis. Borders is going out of business and I needed to use up my coupons. Alas, the coupons were rejected, no books went home with me, but my friend and I wanted to eat lunch and the aroma coming from Joe's was tantalizing, and the people sitting around eating their burgers seemed so happy, it was a lovely day so we went for it. M ordered the Joe's Hamburger with fries and an Ice tea, and I opted for the Joe's Cheeseburger, both of us ordered the single size. They come with big thick slices of tomato, sauce, lettuce and grilled onions. Like another reviewer mentioned, I only saw ketchup as a condiment, but the burgers were fine the way they were served. The fries were crisp and tasty. Funniest part of this review, my number was 69 too.

    (3)
  • Erin C.

Like a lot of other reviewers have said. the patty is pretty thin. Maybe it's slightly healthier with more veggie? But not quite worth the price I suppose. But on a Sunday night when you're hungry right before the movie, it's a pretty good option. (considering most other places are closed)

Hey, suburbanites. Want to experience the food cart trend without traveling to Portland? Go to the mall! You know what is hot in Portland? Food carts and artisan burgers You know what is not hot? Bland food and the weather So they are on trend and yet the place struck me as slightly missing the mark. The real problem here is that the entire Bridgeport complex is poorly designed. There are certain foods that are easy to eat while walking around a mall and others that are just a no go. Oh, and did I mention it is an outdoor mall? I suspect the designers were from Southern California. The two other nearby kiosks feature snack foods (Wetzel's Pretzels and Sweetest Thing Cupcakes) and Sweetest Thing lets you come in from the cold while ordering and has one small table. I've eaten here twice and both times liked Joe's Cheeseburger just fine. It is in my golden zone as far as portion size (not too big) and is filled with veggies, including grilled onions (a personal favorite). The fries are highly disappointing. Absolutely bland and overcooked. I would chalk this up to an off batch, but it was the same for me on both visits. The only visible condiment outside is ketchup and you need to ask for to-go containers if you want to bring your meal home. There is seating close by in a very fancy partially enclosed atrium with heat lamps. However, the seats are metal so it can be painfully cold. During both of my lunchtime visits, the heat lamps were not turned on so after a couple minutes I ended up taking my food to go. What I really love about Portland's food carts is that many are small operations where you get to meet and interact with the owner/operator. Joe's seems to hire a group of rather sweet, but slightly bumbling teenagers. Pretty much what you would expect at a mall. You are assigned a number when you place an order and then they call it 5-10 minutes later when your order is ready. On my first visit, my number was "69." I admit, I was a little slow picking up my order because the look on the poor girl's face was priceless. You might want to remove that number from the rotation.

I love burgers but I was on a health kick during the time that I ate there so I had the veggie burger -- and shake -- maybe not the healthIEST health kick. Anyway, the milkshake was great, my boy loved them but not an exaggeration that this was the best veggie burger I have ever had. Usually they are as about as good as wet cardboard. It was moist, same special sauce as the burger I think and lots of good flavor. Ordering this again when we have office meetings. Yum.

I'm originally from Las Vegas and I have been looking for a replacement for In n Out. I just found it! I really like that they do burgers wrapped in lettuce and have gluten free buns also. I had a double cheeseburger, with grilled onions, wrapped in lettuce today and it tasted EXACTLY like In n Out, maybe better? I have yet to try their onion rings, but that will be on my next trip. This burger was MUCH better then Fuddruckers down the street.

Walking through Bridgeport one fine Tuesday afternoon my co-worker and I were headed for Q'doba with a hunger and a killer coupon in our pocket. On the way the Tualatin Police thwarted our efforts to obtain tasty Mexican goodness because some knob robbed the Key Bank next to it and they had the whole area shut down and bomb squad personnel were everywhere. While this was a very tense looking situation all I could think about was, "Where am I going to get lunch now?" Since bombs are out of my realm of control I took control of what I could. Hunger. Walking back into the central court at Bridgeport (Hey Boss! Lets build an outdoor mall in a place where it rains a lot!!!) and there was that new hamburger stand, Joe's Burgers. Seems like a viable option since we were not in the mood for overpriced pizza or a bad noodle place (names were withheld to protect the innocent). Joe's is a kiosk, so you walk up to a window and order from a limited menu of burgers, dogs, fries, drinks and shakes. I like simple so that was a nice plus to not have to sit and study a menu like it's the freakin' table of elements in science class. I ordered a classic cheeseburger combo and asked if I could upgrade to the chili-cheese fries (fearing calcium deficiency I occasionally load up on cheese). It perplexed the poor girl taking my order, but we got it done. When my food arrived the chili-cheese fries were covered in onions. I have been eating chili-cheese fries for a while now and never have I seen them come with onions. I have seen an option to special request them, but never with them on them... especially when I ordered my burger without tomato and onion. Put two and two together, people. I must have looked upset because some lady asked what was wrong, I stated that the menu does not list onions on the chili-cheese fries. She told me it didn't say anything about cheese either but it was on there and would I like some without cheese? I looked to my right at the menu, it clearly says CHILI CHEESE FRIES. So I opted to pick off the onions as I wanted nothing to do with this woman again. The burger was not bad, it wasn't anything great either, but it was a serviceable burger. The fries were okay as well, but all in all, I can get that kind of burger anywhere so barring bomb scares I'll keep on with my usual places and I'll leave Joe's to the onion loving public.

*Update* I just had Joe's burger yet again and I'm wishing they were bigger! Again, my burger had more lettuce and tomato than needed (2 thick slices tomato and a good heaping of lettuce). For the size of the burger (think McD's size) it could have used a bit less veggies. The hamburger patty was thin, which I don't mind....but I still suggest getting a double perhaps. Pro: Fresh tasting, not fast food quality, burger sauce! Grilled chopped onions were yummy Con: Sliced tomato was thicker than the patty itself. A bit too much lettuce. I ended up taking most of it off. Suggestions: Go for a double burger. Request lettuce and tomato on side? Pretty tasty though!

Super great little burgers a kin to In-N-Out. It's not exactly In-N-Out but it's close enough to scratch that itch. They're not the best burgers in the world, they're not fancy, there are no gimmicks. It's just an easy stop at a kiosk for a very solid, very enjoyable burger. I'm a fan.

    (4)
  • Michael C.

The Good: It's located right inside the Bridgeport Village, across the movie theater and in front of the Apple Store. Raised in California, I grew up on In-N-Out burger and still claim it to be the best fast food burger chain -this is pretty close. The burger looks and tastes like the In-N-Out burger, but the fries are better (like Burger King, stiff and crispy.) Burgers are about $4 and $3 extra for fries and a drink. IMO, it's better than Burgerville and some of the other burger places I've been to in Portland. The Bad: It's a kiosk, so there is no seating. You will find an area of five or six tables nearby and a few benches. On rainy days, I don't know what's going to happen. Try: the classic cheeseburger. I hear their shakes are pretty good too, but that's not my thing. Don't Try: on a rainy day. Like I said, you won't enjoy the burger when you're drenched.

The smells are deceiving here. Every time I come to Bridgeport, I get hungry walking past here. Finally gave in and ordered a cheeseburger. The price was high, the flavour was low. Kind of a bummer really that all the taste went into the air or something. Took forever to cook/prepare, and I was only one of two in line. Save your money, pretty much any burger place is the same or most likely better, and will be cheaper.

I think this was the thinnest patty I've ever seen! Seriously, it was the thickness of a homemade pancake! I was so bummed because we were so hungry & this little kiosk in the middle of Bridgeport Village was the first thing we saw. There was plenty of iceberg lettuce, tomato & sauce (possibly thousand island?) on my Joe's Burger combo, but the patty itself I'd give it a one star. Also, how can a patty so thin be grilled so uneven? It was hit & miss of medium then rare bites of Oregon's all natural beef. I couldn't finish it nor the fries. There was a good quantity of them but they weren't anything special. The plastic covered gazebo was occupied with cheering OSU & Oregon cheerleaders. While Benny Beaver & The Duck were inside the heated gazebo trying to excite the shivering crowd for the anticipated Civil War on Saturday, we were left to sit out in the cold to scarf down our mediocre burgers & fries before they got too cold. :-( The next time we're in the area & have more time, we'll try one of the sit down restaurants instead. Joe's Burgers didn't make a great impact on me to want to eat it again.

for an outdoor kiosk in a mall in Portland... they are really good. Everything is made fresh and the ingredients are fresh as well. The wait time is a little longer because they don't let the burgers just hangout out until someone is ready to order one, they indeed make it fresh. It's not the best burger I've had, but it is good enough that I will go again!... and again.... and try the restaurant downtown as well...

  • Nickola J.

The veggie burger that I had here was great. I really loved the fries, too. They were crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. The atmosphere is pretty open, so you'll have to find a bench or sit in the big plastic tent next door (although you can't hear them call your number in there, so if you must claim a table, you should have someone wait outside for your meal).

  • Kelly S.

Had the single Kahuna burger with fries. The burger was awesome, perfectly done bacon, pineapple, with a good good sauce. The only complaint my family of 5 had was the ketchup for the fries has an odd taste to it. Other than that was awesome!

  • Raymond T.

The closest I will get to in-n-out burgers in Portland. Delicious!

    (4)
  • Jennifer W.

this burger reminds me of In and Out burger. Everything is fresh and ok but pricey. it's by no means the best burger out there in portland. I'd say this is the better place for fast food comparing to McD. Their sweet potato fries is good. If you are shopping around in Bridgeport village and need a quick break, this could be a good place. Personally, I'd take Burgerville over this place.

  • Neil W.

Well, I hate to do it, but this place is not very good at all. 1) the burger is more of a salad than a burger, and when I tried to dig past all the lettuice, tomato and onions to just get a bite of the meat, it really didn't tast like much by itself. 2) the diablo dog, just a mess, no creativity at all, just a bunch of sloppy toppings thrown on top of a run-of-the-mill hot dog, WOW WRAPPED IN BACON, meh. However, the fries are AMAZING. and the gal working behind the counter was really cute, so, MAYBE a 2.5 star review for her (Adam B. thinks this bumps it up to a 3 star review, but I disagree) and the coke was really tasty. Go for the fries, stay for the help, STAY AWAY from the rest of the menu. I didn't have a milkshake. (on a side note, woudln't it be funny if in the toggle post review section where you can mark "Good For: Lunch, Dinner" etc, they had a box you could check for "Nothing". Just a thought)

My friends and I needed to grab a quick bite to eat before heading out on an all day winery tour adventure, so we chose here. The service was relatively fast and friendly. But I found the prices to be just a little bit high for what you get. The burger was OK, nothing to write home about, but the fries were just your average pre-cooked frozen pasted together fries. I think if I was to ever eat here again I would try their hot dogs instead. I'll get my burger fix elsewhere like at Carls or 5 Guys or In-N-Out.

My daughter and I were shopping and needed a quick lunch- but not drive-up fast food type, She had the hot dog, and I (not a meat eater) loved the option of a veggie burger! Yay for me! and it was tasty, not like most that tastes like they slapped a frozen pattie on the grill, this was delish! we shared fries- very good, and a vanilla milkshake...yum! not sure what ice-cream they use, but it's damn good and thick... Nice to see Bridgeport offering more than just sit down restraunts for these busy days.

This place reminds me of In-N-Out but as with all imitation burgers, In-N-Out is still king! The burgers are cheap and a great place to grab a quick bite if you're on the go. The quality is not to a level of a dive bar or restaurant, but it is one of the better fast food burger joints in town.

I've had better. I've had worse. Went to hang out at the mall with my son tonight. First time visitor to this particular mall, so we weren't sure where we would be eating. Lots of full service restaurants. We weren't quite dressed for that though. After walking around a bit, we ran across this kiosk. Checked out the menu, seemed pretty good. We walked around a bit more to see what else was out there. Then came back. We love burgers. As we were standing in line reading the menu board, a worker opens up the window and says hi (nice to be noticed). We asked her how big the burgers were as we had to decide between a single or double burger. So she holds out her hands in a circle and shows us how big the burgers are. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...entertaining. So I ask if she knows if they are quarter pounders, and she informs us "yes, yes they are". We ordered two double burgers, fries and a soda. As this is a kiosk, we have to find a place to eat. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Looking around to the other side we see a tent with plastic walls with heaters inside next to tables. Awesome! We go in, sit down and wait for our food. After a few minutes I go and retrieve our food, opting not to wait to try to figure out how they were going to tell us that our food was ready. The burger was very similar to In-N-Out. I was kinda disappointed in the size, and I could tell that my son was also. They weren't quarter pound patties. The two together were equal to a quarter pound. But we ate away, digging into the fries in between bites. Fries were ok. Just standard frozen fries (seemingly). 2 double cheeseburgers 2 fries 2 sodas $18 Not a bad deal. Friendly staff. Decent burger. I would have just liked the burgers to be a bit...beefier. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again, but would eat here if walking around the mall again. If you want a better fast food type burger, try Burgerville. If you want a nice gourmet burger, go to Willamette Valley Burger in Salem. Even try 5 Guys Burger and Fries (love the cajun fries). Nuff said.

Great burgers. VERY CLOSE to In-n-out. Closest I've ever found. However, much more expensive than In-n-out. Probably enough to not go too often. Kiosk in the middle of the outdoor mall.

I was at Bridgeport for Crate & Barrel around lunchtime, so stopped at this little "Food cart", where "food cart" is a permanent, upscale attempt to mimic Portland's thriving and active food cart scene. The people inside were nice (but busy), and the food was....okay. The burger patty was thicker than your typical fast-food joint's fare, but the "special sauce" was weirdly sweet and did not go well with the burger at all. The fries were surprisingly good -- crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The price was fine - on the cheap side, actually. The veggies - lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, were actually very fresh and tasty. The grilled onions were oddly sweet too, though. I got a shake - it was thick and tasted fine, but nothing special. The seating area is right by a children's playground and the joint itself is close to the cinema, so the noise level can be a little disconcerting, and on a busy day, you're not going to find a place to sit.

Not a Burgerville. Joe's Burgers is an expensive alternative to McDonalds. First off the place is a kiosk in Bridgeport that offers no shelter from the elements for their customers. They put up canopy near the order window. As you stand and pay for the overpriced order the canopy drips down the back of your neck. Next you receive your oder in a box, good idea and the burger and fries fit nicely into it. For a togo order they just put a box over the top. Cool. Okay, the taste of the food was not remarkable. Frys were salted nicely and were standard tasting. The cheese burger had American Cheese..... its not a flavor I wish to have in my burger. Cheddar, swiss, pepper-jack are all good alternative choices. The chocolate shake had a very industrial taste to it. It just did not taste the way a good chocolate shake should taste. I can not describe any better than that. Just order vanilla and spare your buds. Overall experience and for the price, there are much, much better choices at Bridgeport to feed your hunger.

This Burger stand is a newish addition to the Bridgeport dining choices. They offer hamburgers, garden burgers, and fries. That is pretty much it, they seem to be going to a simple In-n-out style menu to keep patrons from backing up the line deciding what to eat. Not sure if they have a "secret menu" yet but I hope they do as I want a grilled cheese. They are quick to get your order ready and out the window which is nice for a work lunch. The seating is all outdoors which is great on a nice day, but a little soggy most of the time. I ate a garden burger and my friend had a traditional burger. We both enjoyed the food but didn't taste anything special. Worth a stop by if you are in the area but not anything worth going out of your way for.

Neil H. is a little cranky from lack of sleep! The burger was pretty good I thought; the ingredients seemed fresh. I do agree with Neil's assessment of the Diablo Dog though. I'll recommmend it.

I was pleasantly surprised. This is cart food in a mall, but the Burgers were actually very good! I order my burgers minus mayo secret sauce, so I can't comment on their sauce, but they were happy to put Ketchup and Mustard on it for me, that was nice! Fries were pretty standard IMHO. Had a Vanilla shake and it was great too! Hopefully I won't eat there too often, I am trying to watch the weight afterall but this is a great splurge place before catching a movie. :)

In-n-Out meets Tommy's. I miss these two So Cal establishments and Joe's feeds the craving of both. The smell beckons you and the taste does not disappoint. I really don't get the bashing in many of the reviews. Really, people, complaining about everything from it being at an outdoor mall to the burger being too small? I'm sure they would be glad to add as many patties as you would like on your next burger, ala In-n-out's hidden menu.

Great service! Fun staff. Order the double for a meatier taste. This is Oregon's version of my favorite In-n-Out. My teenager loved it also!

The new Joe's Burger and Bar on Bvtn-Hillsdale is a huge disappointment. Though I was not a regular customer of JoPa I always enjoyed eating there a couple of times a year. I had high hopes for Joe's as an alternative to Raccoon Lodge and McMenamins, but I am back to the drawing board. The burger patty was as thin as McDonalds and the lettuce and tomatoes completely overpowered the taste of the meat. I would not mind the thin patty if it were better balanced against the veggies. The fries were thin, crisp and tasty- no issues there. My son ordered the chili dog and could barely eat the chili, and he is NOT a picky eater. We ordered the calamari and it tasted like it came out of a frozen bag from grocery store. The quesdo fundito bean dip tasted like nothing more than a can of refried beans mixed with a little cheese. We ordered a glass of both red and white wine and had to send the glass of red back- totally undrinkable. The new atmosphere is what baffles me the most. The whimsical decor of JoPa has been stripped down to a bare bones sports bar feel. There are plasma screen televisions hanging around the perimeter of the dining room that, I assume, are for watching sports. A high school football game was being screened when we dined on Friday night. Now here is the interesting part: if this new venture is trying to bill itself as "fun and entertaining" environment where you can come and watch the game... why is it NOT open on Saturday and Sunday afternoons when most of the games take place?

The burgers themselves are probably the closest thing that I have had to In-N-Out, but the fries aren't even close. -1 star for the nasty chili cheese fries, and -1 star for the tiny drink sizes. Come on, I'm an American, I expect my combo meal to have 2 liters of the soda of my choice. Another detractor for me, is much like Portland's "thriving and active food cart scene" this place is outdoors. That's great for places that don't rain for half of the year. I really can't figure out why everyone in Portland seems to flock to places that you are forced to sit out in the rain and cold.

I love the burgers at Joe's and the fries are decent. Haven't had a shake yet as its been too cold out. It's always a personal struggle to decide between Joe's and Koi Fusion. If only they would both lower their prices I would never have to choose.

My husband and I decided to try Joe's today at Bridgeport. The burgers were pretty good. The sauce is really good. The fries are very crispy and perfectly salted. On a sunny day this is the perfect place to grab a burger but when it gets cold and rainy? nope. I wont do it. The burgers are extremely messy but very tasty. They use tomatoes that are about a half inch thick and miles of lettuce and tons of drippy "special" sauce. They had non stop people ordering and all of them seemed to find a spot to sit and eat. I really don't know how often I will go there but the first time was a positive experience.

Okay...let's break it down. In the Pantheon of fast food burgers, it all begins with In-n-Out, then goes to Burgerville and then JOE'S BURGERS, right before you hit McDonalds. Before we bash Joe's to death, let's put it all in perspective...this is a KIOSK burger joint in the middle of Oregon's best mall. Very small kitchen which means almost no prep room, which translates into pretty much everything is frozen. If you were expecting Fuddrucker's, then you were just aiming in the wrong spot. Is a little on the expensive side also, not much, but just a schmige. The hamburgers themselves are a 3/5. Not awful, but not great. I would suggest skipping the fries all together, nothing special and three bites into them you will just be wishing you had skipped ordering them as you will begin to day dream for your favorite frie as these pale in comparison. The shakes are actually pretty good, but then again if I am at Bridgeport and I want ice cream, I can walk 20 feet to my left and have a cup of bliss at Mio Gelato. To keep it all in perspective, Joe's Burger's is a mall based fast food joint, on par with a McDonalds or Burger King and sometimes when your craving a burger right before or after a movie...then fast food will do. On a positive note, Bridgeport Village has brought out the giant plastic wrap to go around the "gazebo courtyard" and supplemented with space heaters so I can eat me burger and shake in peace, while it is freezing out and the rain pours. Thsi way you can people watch and enjoy your fast food in peace. I mean if I want a "real" hamburger in Portland, then I best be getting myself down to Higgins and gobble down one of their "Top Sirloin" burgers anyway.

I really like the taste of their food but the burger is definitely too thin. With a big slice of tomato and a bunch of lettuce, the patty gets lost in there. You can order a double though and that makes it a bit better but you have to pay more for it too. Fries are thin, crispy and tasty!

2nd best burgers in Oregon. The best burgers in Oregon has to be Rachel's Classic Burger in Hillsboro.

I love this place. It's simple and it's oh so good. The burgers are so juicy and so tasty. It's in the mall though and it takes a long time to get your food, so that's the only reason why it doesn't get a 5 star.

Closes substitute to In 'N Out I've found in Oregon. Double CheeseBurger tasted fresh and bomb. Def gonna try the chili burger next time. Fries are okay, but the burger's the main attraction.

Funny. Like another reviewer, my initial impression was: upscale In'N Out burger. The cheeseburger was fantastic, and hard to beat for the price. It was kind of a nice vibe even though it was at a kiosk in an outdoor mall. The seating under the gazebo made up for it, though.

YAWN! What a boring hamburger and not worth the price. Service if you want to call it that, is provided by teen workers that would rather be somewhere else. I will stick with 5 Guys and this is not the In and Out of anything. I would rather eat at Carl's Jr. over Joe's any day.

I would agree with some of the comments that bridgeport is an odd set up for the nw. The good new is that has nothing to do with the food a Joes. If there is a better burger in PDX, I am unaware of it.

When I was visiting my cousin and he told me he wanted to take me to this awesome newly discovered restaurant, the last place I expected to end up at was a burger stand, but I was blown away and will never question a food recommendation from my cousin again. Joe's Burger was like an In'n'Out burger, but better! You can actually taste the quality of the meat, and you can tell all the ingredients are fresh. Plus the fries are way better than In'n'Out, actually crispy. I indulged in a shake for dessert. I am home from my trip, but can't stop craving the meal I had at a little burger stand at Bridgeport.

I'll somewhat concur with Chris B about Joe's on Beaverton-Hillsdale being a dissapointment compared with Jopa. I don't have as much issue with the burger, it seems like the exact same thing that Jopa had on their happy hour menu. It is fine, but nothing special. But how this place is going to survive is beyond me. Jopa was at least an alternative in this part of town to other burger places, but I don't see much with Joe's to be optimistic about. The burger menu is actually pretty short for a place with burger in the name, the pizza is exactly that same as Jopa's (also nothing special), then some tacos options (didn't try, but probably will next time, if we go back). The atmosphere is kind of weird (dark, alot of black, bad 80s rock) and definitely not as comfortable as Jopa (they took out the booths). I just don't get it, they said Jopa wasn't doing that great financially, but this place has lower prices and not a great alternative to Racoon Lodge, or even 3 square or Seasons and Regions. I don't see this making it a year, which I am not at all happy about because we don't have enough dining options in this part of town to begin with.
