Let me start by saying that I LOVE the Jimmy John's on Hall... We went to this one (by Bridgeport Village) yesterday and it was TERRIBLE. There was no one in line ahead of us and it easily took five times longer to get our two sandwiches than it has at the other three locations in the Beaverton area. (yes, I have now been to all four!) The sandwiches were as terrible as the service. They must have made them on the day old bread, they were super dry and mine barely had any avocado or mayo on it. I will NOT be returning to this JImmy John's.

look another Jimmy Johns! these sandwich shops are popping up all over Portland metro.. where they come from.. o look another one.. these must be really good then! these must be amazing gourmet sandwiches.. hmm.. tempting.. what am i missing out on? let's see..... i go here on satuday.. this place is PACKED... i've never seen subway or quiznos be this packed. they have 7 .. yes 7 people working behind the counter making sandwiches and taking cash. menu looks simple enough.. sandwiches and bigger sandwiches.. ok whatever i'll just try something.. placed order.. where do i sit now? o sweet a table opened up.. so dirty.. eh i'm lazy i'll just sit at this table covered with previous customers' sandwich bits. not too long my sandwich is out.. okk here it goes.. hmm.. ok not bad.. my lettuce sandwich came with some meat. mm yummy bread.. is it sad that i'm enjoying the tasty bread with mayonnaise more than actual content of said sandwich? ok lemme try another sandwich.. yep, the sandwich also came with some meat to complement her lettuce. o well... so much for my expectations.. :(

Jimmy John's is awesome! I'm a frequent visitor to the Bridgeport location since it's on my way home from work. My last experience was worth a post though--I arrived at JJ's at 10:15 am assuming they open at 10. When I got there and the door was locked, I headed back to my car disappointed I wouldn't be having my JJ's for lunch. Just as I reached my car, I heard the door unlock and the manager came out and said, 'Our bread's finished baking, so come on in!' They don't 'officially' open til 11, but he opened the place at 1015 for me and was then ready for business. How often does that happen? Usually restaurants take their sweet, old time opening for business in the morning and are not too bothered if they open a few minutes late. Not Jimmy John's though, at least not the one in Bridgeport Village. I want the Pepe and a pickle!

I decided to try this shop after a co-worker had a big sandwich from here. Atmosphere and food were awesome. Most of the employees were friendly except for the younger kid at the end of the sandwich line who said to me "here's your sandwiches homie". Good place to eat but only three stars because of the immature lingo an employee used to address me.

Yay! I am so happy there is a sandwich shop that is not only tasty, but delivers too! I had the Beach Club, it was so good! Quick delivery too! Thanks!

Love their sandwiches and love their service even better. When I do not have time to leave the office they deliver with in 5 min. Makes me think they make the sammiches while they are driving. Always Fresh. Make sure you get bread taken out and add sprouts. It is the best!!!

I work just down the road and order from these guys all the time. Normally the sandwiches are great and come very quickly. Today, I called because I hadn't gotten my order 40 minutes later. They delivered my sandwich to a different department, even though I always write "sales dept" in the delivery instructions. I understand that mistakes happen but whose signature did they get on the receipt? I did eventually get my sandwich and it was delicious even though it tasted a little old. I'll probably order from them again next time I forget my lunch but hopefully next time they don't try to deliver it to Carly...

How is it they can fuck up an order so easily. Just got my lunch from there and wont eat it. Not what i wanted on my sandwich absolutely no mayo. And what do they slather on it? Of course what i don't want. Never get my business again. Either they don't care or dont listen. Regardless they suck.

Jimmy John's NEVER disappoints!! The food is always consistent whether I eat there in Illinois, Nevada or in Oregon! So glad we are getting one in the Sacramento area! The sandwiches are always fresh - taste amazing and are delicious! Why would anyone go to Subway, Togos or Quiznos when you have Jimmy John's? Their bread is DELICIOUS - it's always flavorful and chewy - and perfect for sandwiches - never too hard or crunch so that it cuts up the inside of your mouth. They also sell day old bread for like $1 and it's worth it - whenever my husband are in a town with a Jimmy John's we pick up day old bread with our sandwiches to snack on! I also love that you can get a basic sandwich (meat and bread only), one level up - meat with veggies and bread, and a super sandwiches - multiple meats and veggies and bread. The prices are SO reasonable and every single sandwich I've had is delicious! My basic sandwich is tuna with provolone - SO GOOD. Then from there - i've had probably every sandwich (they had a Jimmy John's where I went to college over $15 years ago - and we ate at JJ's probably 3-4 times a week) - so you just CAN'T go wrong :) You always get a pickle slice with your non-basic sandwiches too - YUMMY.

Anti-Asshole review! While enjoying my sandwich, some women came back after ordering her sandwich. She was holding a half opened sandwich wrapper. She yelled at the counter person, an 18 year old with a patchy beard, about her sandwich being made incorrectly. "This isn't rocket science" and she stormed out before the stunned youth could answer. People make mistakes entitled women! Jimmy John's does not deserve 5 stars, 4 probably. But this review is in defense and opposition of a person that might post a negative review of this place. Fuck you lady, your efforts will fall on deaf ears.

So I've been ordering online many many different times and this is how it works. Everything is great if you tip a few bucks on your order, if you tip nothing or $1.00 (which is a 20% tip on a sandwich order) Then they never deliver the same quality of food or add the extras you ask for. I would rate it better than that except for the fact that not getting the same quality based on tipping as much is SO unacceptable! I normally always tip, but when it's only one item and so I only tip a buck, my food sucks :/

I think it is a shame that you cannot accommodate a simple request for Italian dressing on the side of a sandwich....a sleeve of solo cups and lids wouldn't bust your budget. Never coming back....I'll tell my friends in the industry the same.

(8/27/2014 1:05pm) I have ordered from this location within the last 2 weeks and had my sandwiches delivered to my front door. I called today and was told they do not deliver to my location? When I called I was told that it was a mistake and they shouldn't of delivered to me in the first place.....So If they don't want my business then fine. Word of mouth is huge. I URGE people to go some where other then this location.

One of the most non-gourmet, boring & tasteless sandwiches, I have had. :( Super disappointed! Please remove the word "GOURMET" from the company sign! Gourmet = a connoisseur of fine food and drink; epicure. Of or characteristic of a gourmet, especially in involving or purporting to involve high-quality or exotic ingredients and skilled preparation: gourmet meals; gourmet cooking. Elaborately equipped for the preparation of fancy, specialized, or exotic meals: a gourmet kitchen. I wish I have asked for my gourmet money back! :( SUGGESTION: Subway on 17773 Lower Boones Ferry Road, Lake Oswego, OR is only 1/2 a mile away. They are not gourmet, cheaper and better than this place!

Pretty much like the other Jimmy John's. Quick sandwiches that make me not hungry. Fresh ingredients. Awesome sub shop if that's your thing.

Bad atmosphere - super loud, door kept sticking open so it was cold, and chairs/tables uncomfortable. Also bad service and unfriendly staff. Our veggie sandwiches were mainly lettuce. Yep - it was fast. That's all I can say positive about it. If you want a fast lettuce sandwich to-go, this might be the perfect place for you. We'll go to Qdoba next door instead. Nicer seating, friendlier staff, better good, more comfortable environment. Great for kids and adults alike.

  • Josh L.

Fast. Filling. Friendly. There isn't a whole lot that is exceptional about JJ's outside of it's convenience. They manage consistency and speed very well. I have ordered a variety of sandwiches that JJ's offers and so far they have all been just fine. Be sure to notate that they have "freebies" to add onto any sandwich. Without these they are fairly plain tasting. Bread, meat, lettuce, tomato and mayo is about the standard. You will make your order, swipe your card and likely be holding your sandwich by the time your receipt has printed. That speed during my lunch break is what keeps me coming back. We just got a JJ's in Oregon City and I haven't yet visited. It just doesn't fill my outside-of-the-workday dining experience that I would rather have. Unless of course I was in a hurry.

Fast, friendly service. Plus they have lettuce wraps for watching carbs. Right across from Bridgeport shopping center.

While Jimmy John's is good food at good prices, they DO NOT deliver everywhere. Even if it says they deliver in Tigard, don't be surprised if they don't deliver to your corner of Tigard. :-/ Bummed out.

I discovered this handy place thanks to a coworker. A place that makes a tasty sandwich and that delivers to my office in less than ten minutes - no joke, 9 minutes...I FRIGGING TIMED IT! Their pickles are excellent! Their chips are pretty tasty as well. I grabbed a beach club and added bacon to it...next time I will ask for more avocado since they threatened the sandwich with it only... They do seem to upcharge for everything but, again....they deliver so I figure the extras are a convenience charge. I have not been in to the restaurant but why would I - did I mention they deliver?!

  • Wendy M.

The 'meat medley' of itallian meats was pretty good and they are right 'darn fast' as service. Place was clean staff was nice enough. The tuna sandwich is gwad awful. I felt like I ate pile of garbage after I ate it. My husband had a tuna sandwich too and he felt the same way. Stay AWAY from the TUNA. Conversely, the side pickle was huge and pretty good.

Smells like teen spirit. One visit was enough, but I figured it was only fair to give them a second chance to earn my business. My experience was identical on both visits, so I don't foresee becoming a regular. That is not to say that they don't do a few things right. Service was fast, the location near the Bridgeport Shopping Center is new (only open a couple months), and as far as I can tell, they are executing the Jimmy John's plan. So my issue isn't with this location. Fundamentally, I just don't like this particular chain. We all have our preferences, right? Coke vs. Pepsi McDonalds vs. Burger King I've been a Subway customer forever and they pretty much meet my basic sandwich needs. If I want gourmet, I'll go elsewhere. Even though that word is in the name of the business, this isn't a gourmet deli. My opening line from Nirvana ran through my mind on both visits since this place just screams teenagers. The employees, the customers, the music choice and the atmosphere with the black and white checkerboard decor. When I visit this location and Qdoba next door, I feel like I'm at the stage where my kids want me to wait in the car in case their friends are hanging out there. Even their website screams, "AMERICA'S FAVORITE SANDWICH" followed by "delivery guys" in small script. I live and work far enough away, that their main selling point, delivery, holds no interest for me. And if you are a restaurant whose main claim to fame is not the product, but your delivery, well you have issues my friend. I've tried two of their 8" sub sandwiches, the Turkey Tom and the Totally Tuna. Didn't care for the bread, missed the option to have my sandwich customized (ala Subway) and in both cases my overall impression was that the sandwich was dry as the Sahara. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly, but when I'm thirsty I don't drink Pepsi and when I have a sandwich craving, I won't be going to Jimmy John's.

Nothing extraordinary but nice quick stop for decent sandwiches at decent prices. People are friendly.

JJ johns is great convenience food. Their delivery is fast and the French bread great.. plus i like that you can request to take some bread out. The sandwiches are plain unless you add the free extras. I usually order delivery when I don't feel like cooking and want something that won't overfill me. Overall I love the convenience.

Move over Subway! Lake Oswego's got a new sandwich in town and it's name is Jimmy John (formerly known as sandwich restaurant corporation). It ain't no Bunk, People's Sandwich of Portland nor Lardo, but it's a decent step above the Sub Par Subway sandwich and it's right next to a Shiny Suburban Shopping Mall! Yippeee! Squeeel! Wheeeee!

You know what? You look around most days when it's lunchtime at the office you go over the same list over and over and over again. Burger? Nah. Taco Bell? Nah. Pizza? Nah. And then you get in this frame of mind that a big sub type sandwich would cure the lunchtime food blues. So you trod off to Subway or Quiznos convincing yourself that you have in fact made a life-changing decision. And then you order it and you eat it, and it's alright, at least it's not fried or flame broiled. And then you forget about it. Then came Jimmy John's. They don't claim to reinvent the wheel, to have something new that others do not, they just claim to do it better with better ingredients. Mission accomplished. For me it starts at the base level, the bread. Both the french roll and the seven grain wheat are miles and miles ahead of other nationally known sandwich shops. It is right there where you can make a big difference. Soft yet crusty, spongy but it holds everything together. The meats are far and away better than anyone else too. The freebies are pretty decent too, no one else has sprouts available to add at no charge. It's just a better experience. Will I never set foot in a Subway or Quiznos again? I will, definitely, there are times when it'll be the prudent choice and besides it will make me appreciate Jimmy John's all the more. Oh, don't forget to order a kosher dill pickle on the side and take the time to read all the signs in the place; some of them are hilarious.

Somewhere on the cold sandwich spectrum between Subway and Togo's, Jimmy John's really doesn't have much to recommend it. These are the three things that make it better than Subway, at least: 1) Red tomatoes and green lettuce (revolutionary!) 2) Real cheese instead of processed cheese 3) A vegetarian sandwich that vegetarians might actually be willing to eat My meativorous dining companion rated their meat sandwich 'meh', but again, the meat looked like meat instead of processed reconstituted animal product, so that puts it ahead of subway again. I'm not sure what confused them about my request for mustard, but i seemed to end up with double-mayo instead. Then again, maybe they think that's a normal amount of mayo, and they simply forgot the mustard. That's a pretty disturbing thought for anyone who doesn't eat mayo with a spoon for a snack. Their much-upsold pickle is kinda gross, almost minty and barely pickle-y. The bread is flavorless. The chips are pretty good, though. JJ's should strike 'gourmet' from their name, and replace it with 'better ingredients than Subway, but that's about it'. (And the super-duper-fast-delivery doesn't count for much since no location delivers to any place useful to me.)

My buddy went up and grabbed a couple of roast beef sandwiches for lunch at Jimmy Johns Bridgeport. What can I say, this was the most boring tasteless sandwich I've ever eaten. It reminded me a lot of the sandwiches they trucked out to us for lunch when I used to fight forest fires for the Forest Service except those were good because we were starving. Anyway, if you want a sandwich that tastes like USDA contractor food then by all means go here.

Of all things for me to crave the #13 veggie club is my # 1 pregnancy food desire. It's something about the way the provolone and avocado all squish together with the bread that keep me coming back. This sandwich kicks Subways ass.

I love there Italian night club sandwhich, But dont cheat yourself. You have to get the red peppers on it foo! There subs are average, but i think i am a fan because of the ambience and how they greet you. When you walk in everyone looks at you and starts yelling "HEYYY!!!" "HOW ARE YOU!!" "WELCOME!". Kinda ketches you by suprise, makes you feel like there's a surprise party and they were waiting for you all day. haha. There service is pretty darn quick to. Not like most subways where they sit there all pissed off at the world because they think there job is so hard and life is so rough because you make subs all day. No no these guys actually put some spunk in there sub-making, and i like it!!

Cook bread every few hours, and slice meat often. Service is fast and friendly.

  • Laura H.

Dear Jimmy Johns, I am in love with your beach club on wheat! It is delicious!!!! Also, the fact that you deliver to my office is amazing as well :) Personally I hate this parking lot. And the fact that half a jar of mayo goes on each sandwich. I also wish the restaurant was just a tad larger, but its not a deal breaker. This place is quick, convenient, and better than Subway and Quiznos.

  • Nick B.

I come to this location often, and I prefer it to the one in OC. The vibe is just better. If you're a meat lover then I definitely recommend the Italian Night Out. The bread is great and so is the pickle buckets. Pretty quick and easy.

I see that many if not most of the complaints about this place stem from issues with the dining area. I'm sorry but if you are in the dining area of a Jimmy John's you are completely missing the point. There must be some sorcery involved in the speed with which these guys can deliver a sandwich. The sandwiches are pretty great too, particularly the Vito (w/hot peppers *of course*). Online ordering is a breeze, customizing your sandwich is no problem, and I've never had them make a mistake, which is good. I'm picky...on that note, I do wish they'd cool it on the mayo. The delivery guys are a friendly bunch, I'd argue a cut above the typical pizza crowd. Jimmy John's is my sandwich Batman. Whether it's an empty fridge, a late night at the kid's gym practice, or I'm just plain sick of cooking...I'd say about 80% of the time I hop online and put up the JJ-signal. Stick to delivery or take-out...that's where this place shines.

    (4)
  • Robert S.

This place just didn't do it for me. As other reviewers have mentioned, they don't offer as good of value for your money as other chains (Subway or Quiznos). The only vegetarian option is their 'cheese sandwich', which doesn't quite do it for me. At least with Subway, vegetables can be piled on and you have a meal. Not impressed with this place and anticipate it will be a 'fad'.....and slowly fade away.

  • Dale H.

Sheesh...I love this place. It's become my favorite franchise sammich place. I usually get the same thing here (the Gargantuan with peppers), so this review is based on that single sammich. I've had a couple others and they were good too, but I go here for the above mentioned sammich. They're always quick. I usually have my sammich in hand right after paying, and on my way walking towards the soda fountain. Super fast...that's their schtick. The place is ALWAYS crowded but I NEVER have to wait. For my sammich, which is their biggest on the menu (hence the name!) and a large soda, I pay just a little over nine bucks. Not bad at all, considering the size of the sammich. I don't usually order chips or anything because I'm too full. I could actually order two and eat both of them, not out of hunger, but because they're so good, I could eat two even if I'm full. The place is always bustling, full of people, and it's loud with the chatter and the music playing over the speaker. But that's ok. Take the time to sit down and read their creative, and humorous, signs scattered over all of the walls. Very interesting stuff. And don't forget to order extra peppers with your sammich. It makes it that much better!!! The four stars is given as a chain restaurant. Of course, it doesn't stand up to non-franchise sammich places that I frequent. That's all I gotta say about that.

This sandwhich shop chain is pretty new to the Portland area and I seem to hear people raving about it all over. When one of these showed up right next to the Qdoba I go to I had to give them a try. I have to say I wasn't much of a fan. Their meat was tasty and thin cut which I like, bit the situation goes downhill from there. The condiment and topping selection is seriously lacking, only one cheese? Come on. Other than that their bread was kinda doughy and wetish, just not that good. So with all the hype these guys didn't hold up if you ask me. With the bounty of good sandwhich shops out there these guys have slid way down my list. Go and check them out for yourself though, might be your new thing.

  • Jo H.

LOVE their sandwiches; however, I have broken foot, so their limited 2 miles delivery area does not help me at all. I'd probably be an every other day customer if they'd cooperate. This is a 12 week process - they lose.

  • Ben F.

What a treat! By far, my new favorite deli sandwich. I always get the Italian sub and the tomatoes just melt in your mouth and the bread kicks the butt of all of the national sub chains. Took the teenage daughter here as well and she is hard to please and absolutely loved it!

    (5)
  • Tracy B.

I cannot believe people think Subway could be better! Hilarious! I'm a person who buys my deli meat by ordering it from behind the counter not in the pre-packaged area where you can get Hormel, and it's going to last you for a month :) The bread at Jimmy's is not the best in the world but it's fresh. The meats however are very fresh, and for the impatient peeps like myself a great place to grab a sub when you're in a hurry!

  • Kelly R.

My first trip to a Jimmy Johns today and I must say that it will be my last. Interesting that their marketing is focused on "fast" rather than "good." Far inferior to both Subway and Quizno's, not to mention Big Town. Take it from a sandwich connoisseur, JJs will only disappoint.
