I really wanted to have salmon during my trip to Oregon and I picked the right place to get it! Their salmon was grilled and served on top of mashed potatoes and asparagus spears. I ate every last bite. We also really enjoyed sitting out on the patio. (BTW - we didn't have a dog with us, but the patio is dog friendly and they had a water dish out there.)
The Terrebone Deot is a great place to stop after visiting Smith Rock. A decent restaurant with good food and a clean, relaxing atmosphere out in the middle of nowhere. Very nice surprise! I usually get the yummy fish tacos and a green salad. Great salad dressing! Everything else on the menu looks good, too, but I generally stick with the known winner. The location right on the train tracks is cool. Today the train actually went by, which was fun to watch.
Exactly what you need after a day of climbing, and some of the best burgers in the state. I have a little bit of a burger obsession -- medium rare, cheese and preferably a sesame bun -- no fry sauce, no mayo, no nothing. Or maybe some bacon if I'm feeling especially gluttonous. Terrebonne burgers with a cold beer hits the spot. I've probably been here about 5 or 6 times in the past year, we've started making it our regular stop after a trip to Smith. The first few meals were a bit uneven -- it seemed that the grill was running hot on one side and cold on the other -- so our burger was a perfect medium rare on one side, and nearly well on the other. But it seems they have worked their kinks out in subsequent visits. They had some damn good soup and chili, which is exactly what I needed to warm me up after climbing in late October. I've been meaning to try some other menu items, but the burgers and soup are just so good.

The food was wonderful!!! Filling, Delicious, Flavorful, and good portions. The seating outside was nice, and provided shade at each table. The waitress was very prompt, kind, personable and even though she was busy, took great care of us. They accommodated my allergies very well! Although it wasn't listed in the menu that the salmon came with butter so there was one correction but t wasn't the waitresses fault and was all fixed without a second thought.
We are regular visitors and love the great food and good service. I do need to report one problem.....the soups do not rate up to par with the quality of food served. When Scott made the soups, they were great and not all Mexican. I finally found the soup on the menu the other day being Chicken Noodle. I got excited, then disappointed. No flavor, lack of salt...a tasteless broth. It would be nice to have some cream soups. Suggestion: someone who knows how to make soup.
really good food....really really bad service. If you can find a waitress to seat you she'll only come back to take your order and that's about it (even if the place is empty) no drink refills...it's like the staff hides from you. the food was decent and thus the 3 stars.

If you're waking up in Terrebonne, OR, odds are you're a climber. Odds are if you're a climber you don't want hunger pangs when you're stressing hella-hard while trying to surf-through some gnar-gnar moves on some Smith Rock though so... GO HERE. I have no idea how this place has not yet been reviewed. They open at 5AM! For those crazy enough to want to get a REALLY early(alpine?) start on the rock. The woman who works here/owns the place is one of the nicest human beings have met in my entire life. Oh, and the food's pretty good too. Nothing like a waffle with strawberries and whip cream with bacon and eggs on the side to start the day right!
***Warning this place no longer exists! Went to try this and it's now Base Camp pizza. We ended up going somewhere else because we weren't in the mood for pizza. :(
WARNING! Smith Rock Resteraunt is no longer there. It is now Base Camp Pizza. However, Base Camp Pizza is pretty good. While simple and straightforward, it still provides good flavors and choices. Great service and reasonably priced.
