Came here for dinner last night. We were sat right away and given chips, salsa and bean dip. The chips were warm and the salsa and bean dip was very good. The decor was typical for American mexican food and the bathrooms were clean. We ordered Chicken fajitas: very good flavor and came out sizzling hot. Tortillas looked homemade. Combo: enchilada was a bit dry but had great flavor. The taco was well made and was good. Definitely recommend if you are passing through. Hours aren't posted (they were open until 9 on a Saturday). We will be back!

This restaurant deserves 6 stars! Fabulous food, superb service. The seafood chimichanga is DELICIOSO, as is the shrimp in cream sauce (my favorite), camarones a la crema. Gorgeous authentic décor, spotless restrooms, wonderful bar beverages. Chile relleno is one of the best I have had anywhere - even in Cozumel. Prices are VERY reasonable for the quality and serving size. One of the best restaurants in west-central Oregon, and just a short minute off I-5. YOU'LL LOVE THIS PLACE.

Pretty good Mexican food, for Oregon. Friendly service, though we had to ask for drink refills and my son's order was wrong twice. We had taquitos, 2 burritos, and the taco salad. All were very good. Nothing will make you scream for joy, but it's good and hot and fresh. Bottom line- We would come back here.

My husband and I were very impressed with this Mexican restaurant. I ordered the taco plate and the chicken flour tacos were stuffed full of shredded chicken, my husband thought his ground beef chimichanga was quite tasty. The retried beans so yummy and the Spanish rice was plain but good. We were served chips and salsa shortly after we sat down and that was quite good too. The place was very clean and our server was excellent. We thought the lunch prices were very reasonable and we will be back.

A new Mexican restaurant in town and good food. Great presentation and service. My wife had nachos will I had the vegetarian fajitas made vegan by leaving off the cheese and sour cream. Everything was done well. Lots of Mexican restaurants have terrible rice but Sol de Sutherlin did it right. We would both eat here again. The owners have done a nice job of decorating and creating a comfortable restaurant with all new furniture, tile, bar and bar stools.

The food is so good when you eat it it makes you feel like you're eating from a taco truck in San Diego. I prefer the taco salads, they slow cook the shredded beef in a delicious spicy sauce that gives it a great intense flavor. I love the staff they are friendly without hovering, and they keep the chips and salsa coming. Which is of course why you go to a Mexican restaurant right?

My husband, our 5 year old daughter and I stopped here for a late lunch on the way down to Northern California from the Portland area today. The food is delicious!! The interior of the restaurant is your very typical Mexican restaurant, with Mexican music playing on my the speakers. It was clean, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We thought we were ordering light by getting a shredded beef quesadilla off of the appetizer menu for the hubby and daughter to share, and just a bowl of tortilla soup for me. JUST a bowl?? I was able to eat maybe half of it and take the rest to go, and I had a pretty big appetite at the time. We also took a little less than half of the quesadilla to go. The soup was the best tortilla soup I have ever had. An explosion of flavor with a hearty amount of tender white meat chicken, tortilla strips, chunks of avocado and green onions. The broth was perfectly seasoned. It was perfect soul food! The quesadilla was great quality, too! Even the guacamole that came with it along with sour cream was full of flavor. It had a delicious cilantro and lime flavor, and was clearly made from scratch. Our daughter tends to be active and playful at restaurants and doesn't eat much, but she ate a good zshare of those quesadillas! I recommend this place and will definitely stop there again if I'm ready to eat while passing through the area again! The only slightly negative is that the margaritas seemed a little weak, but then again, I like strong alcohol flavor so they are probably just perfect for most enjoyers of margaritas!

Staying here during a round trip and we were nervous about the small town culinary options, but were so pleased here! Rosa was our waitress and she was absolutely delightful!!! The food was good and the service truly made it worth while. For anyone else wondering where to go in a small town, this is the place to go!

A lttle hard to find, but our friends live in Roseberg and I wanted Mexican food. LOVED it. The owner made carnitas before hand for our friends and they were very happy. My wife and I ordered off the menu and were pleasantly surprised. It is a family run restaurant, which I personally like (don't like chains run by corporations). He needs marketing help, as the previous Mexican restaurant in that building had a bad reputation. We will absolutely go there on our return visit to our friends in Roseberg.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
