Made it possible for my family to have dinner when no one else would actually made special arrangements for us to eat in the back room since they were book for the next 2 hours not suggesting they can do that every time but wow thank you for going out of your way to accommodate my family also food was great!!! Thank you!!

We had my wedding rehearsal dinner here in 2012 so I definitely have a soft spot for the restaurant. We enjoy Marcello's and the consistency offered. Meals are always good to outstanding and service is attentive, every trip. Have enjoyed conversing with the owner in the bar area on numerous occasions. Definitely a great dining option in Sunriver.

Had reservations and we were seated right away. Decor is a bit dated. Indoor and patio seating available. The Chicken Marsala was flavorful. Not overdone with wine and mushrooms. I subbed out the mashed for angel hair. Fresh green beans came as the veggie side. My daughter had the fettuccine with marinara. Good sized portion for $12. Sauce was very good. My wife had the Chicken Caesar. Again, good sized for $12. She did not particularly enjoy the dressing. Service was attentive but a bit slow. However, they had to move the patio seating indoors due to a sudden storm so that may have caused some disruption. Overall, it was a good choice.

We came here for my wife's 40th birthday... we had the opportunity to meet and hang out with one of the owners... what a wonderful restaurant... I had the Salmon Picatta and my wife had the Chicken Marsalla, both were amazing... the people and the service were also wonderful... we would highly recommend!!

Thank you!!! Delicious!!! Our experience was one of the best we've had in a long time! We started our evening at another local spot, but their failure to serve us was our gain! We walked in without a reservation, and since someone was 25 minutes late, they seated us. Our experience only got better! Pete was our server and he recommended the fresh Alaska halibut and buffalo steak! Great recommendations! The halibut was cooked to perfection, topped with shrimp and a delicious rosemary sauce! My husband enjoyed every bite of his buffalo steak with portobello mushrooms and sauce. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was quaint and intimate. We will definitely make Marcello's a stop on our next trip to Sunriver!

Excellent Osso Bucco! We ordered a side salad as well but that is pretty much just leaves. Skip the desserts. Super friendly service and good wine selection.

With so many poor reviews we decided to try it anyhow. LOL. I'm not sure what anyone's talking about. It wasn't the best in the world but it was very, very good. THE SERVICE WAS EXCEPTIONAL!!! Give it a try.

By far my family's favorite restaurant in Sunriver, if not our favorite restaurant ever. The staff is absolutely amazing and treats everyone like they are family. The food is incredible and the wine selection is impeccable. If you are ever in the area I highly suggest you check this place out, you won't regret it.

Horrible, bad food, high prices. Go somewhere else! I am still mad for wasting my money here on sub-par food and service!!

The evening started out with a late reservation. We called night of and they were able to accommodate eight of us at 7:45. This wasn't an ideal time but we liked the menu so we decide to try it. From the very beginning through the meal the service was impeccable. The wine suggestion was spot on with our tastes and very affordable. Calamari and mushroom appetizers were great, we are still talking about them this morning. The salads were spot on no complaints around the table. Now onto the entrées... The calzones were large and tasty, the high school boys thoroughly enjoyed them. The chicken marsala was "" to die for. The penne aribiatta was very spicy and rich. The linguine Con con is a local favorite was wonderful. The margarita pizza was awesome. The tiramisu shared across the table was gone in seconds. We thought the decor was right in line with a nice Italian restaurant. I cannot wait to return and move around the diverse menu! Get there if you can!

Ate dinner here with the wife tonight. She had the fettuccine Alfredo and I had the Chicken Marsala. Both were pretty darn good. Not the absolute best but both worth the price. The atmosphere, wine list, and drinks added to the experience. Wouldn't drive over but may stop on again when I am in town.

Lovely meal tonight. Osso buco was unbelievably good- extraordinarily tender and delicious. Clam pasta involved a very large number of clams - very pleasant. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and wonderful. We got much more than we had expected.

We are visiting Sunriver for a few days and have found that the dining choices are adequate perhaps for the size of the community but they have not lived up to our expectations in terms of price and quality. Tonight, however was the exception. As we entered the restaurant it seemed a bit old fashioned but any less than positive comments stop right there. The service was top notch, the food was very very good and the prices, while a bit higher than similar in a bigger city where totally acceptable. We were very glad to have made this our choice for dinner on our last night in Sunriver.

Dining at Marcello's was most definitely not among my more positive Italian cuisine experiences. My dish (stuffed manicotti) could have easily been recreated using a package of Kroger lasagna noodles and uncooked Prego sauce. The bread served before the meal was undercooked and starchy. On top of the mediocre food, my dish cost $19, an absurd price for a (small helping of a) crappy stuffed noodle. I will not be returning to this restaurant and I suggest that you eat elsewhere.

Great family spot in Sunriver. We come here several times on each trip, my wife has several food allergies (see below) and they are always willing to accomodate them. The food seems to be always prepared from scratch and the fresh daily specials are always great. Service has always been exceptional, friendly and the kids love eating here also. We've been coming to Sunriver for many years and Marcello's has become our first night meal tradition. Allergies: Gluten Dairy Soy Eggs Peanuts Almonds

We had takeout dinner from here last night. Good dishes all around, but we were really impressed with their attentiveness to one of our dietary restrictions. Great food and great service

  • Russ P.

All four in our party had great meals and the service was great. Two of us had pasta dishes, one had the steak and one had the risotto. The wine list has a lot of choices for a small restaurant in Sunriver, including some highly rated wines. The wine is also reasonably priced. We will definitely return here next time we vacation in Central Oregon.

Excellent service and food! The pork osso buco was delicious! We never miss a chance to eat at Marcello's when we are in Sunriver!

We have been back a couple of times since my first review. I'd like to give a shout out to Autumn, family owner of the restaurant who took the time to read the Yelp reviews and contacted me. I always appreciate any business that is willing to look at customer feedback and respond. Since we are always there in July, the patio is our dining destination, so I can't speak to the dining room atmosphere. The service was still slow, but not nearly as bad as the first time we visited. Our waitress was attentive and kept us informed on the estimated arrival time of our food. Once the sun went down, it got quite chilly, and we were delighted to be offered an overhead heater for our table. The kids loved the pizza here. I had a great salad and my husband found a shellfish entree he was able to eat (can't eat cheese or tomato-- not very Italian friendly that boy). And since I know Autumn is reading these.... can I put in a request for a little more extensive wine list? Perhaps a nice Chilean cabernet? Tante grazie!

4 adults + 5 kids and they added gratuity to the bill without telling us. Very poor form Marcello's!

When in Sunriver, we checked out Marcello's Everything was smooth from the first hellos. The spinach salad was fantastic. These bad reviews are bombastic. Some people need to be more mellows.

Marcello's gets high marks for staff/service, atmosphere and, of course, the food! The Osso Bucco is a favorite, but every dish I've had is wonderful. In addition to a very impressive wine list, the beer lover will find that Marcello's is always rotating in local seasonal selections to compliment their standard selections. And don't forget to save room for dessert...Marcello's chef is constantly creating new and delicious specials that will impress.

I'm baffled by the negative reviews of this place. My family went twice last week while we were in Sunriver on vacation and the food and service were incredible. Penne Carbonara and Linguini con Carne were awesome and my kids loved the pizza. By far the best meals we had in Sunriver.

  • Valerie H.

My family has been coming here for years and have always had a wonderful experience. One of the reasons that we have continued to return to Marcello's is because they understand the needs of gluten-free diners. They have several gluten-free options and have always been very accommodating for my mom and I who both have Celiac (they are also very aware of cross-contamination). I love their risotto and they have a great cocktail menu! I would also say that they are very family friendly.

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! We have been coming to Sunriver for years and Marcello's was one of our go to restaurants. Has the chef or ownership changed in the last year? We had dinner there recently and it was AWFUL!! For starters the crostini was very stale. VERY STALE! Inedible, in fact. When we complained we were given the standard reply ( yes, I have read other reviews) that it was one of their most popular dishes. Perhaps, but do people really like it? We heard another table complain as well. The hostess/ manager offered us more bread and said she would check with the kitchen. We never saw her again. The chicken picata was missing the wonderful lemon cream sauce I enjoyed in the past, the pizza tasteless and the pasta con carne the MOST disgusting looking dish I have ever seen. My niece admitted it tasted better than it looked but presentation counts too. Later we laughed because we thought it looked like barf! Wish I had a photo to share. The leftovers were tossed that night! Needless to say we will not return, EVER, nor will we recommend it to any others. What a shame indeed. Sunriver is desperately in need of some fine dining establishments. In the meantime, we will be making the drive to Bend if we are not preparing a meal in our own kitchen.

My husband and I had a fantastic experience dining at Marcellos for our anniversary. We felt very special as we walked in. We preordered wine and it was breathing for us an hour before our reservation. We had the best table in dining room right next to wine cellars. We started with steamer clams which were very fresh and cooked to perfection. My husband had a special risotto, which had ling cod, scallops and red bell peppers with touch of fresh basil. Risotto was creamy and scallops melted in you r mouth like butter. He finished a whole plate. Trust me it was a generous portion. I had wild king salmon topped with diced tiger prawns, fresh tomatoes, kick of red pepper flakes and fresh basil also. It was accompanied by side of angel hair pasta and summer vegetables such as zucchini, tomatoes and onions. Delicious! One of the best dishes I have ever had. Unfortunately we did not save room for dessert, sense everything was sooo good. But as I heard all desserts are homemade. We are looking forward to come back and have some Tiramisu next time!

I've had mixed luck here. Last year I tried to come here for dinner on a Sunday evening and the place was closed up. Seemed pretty strange to close up a pizza place in a tourist town on a beautiful September weekend (the same weekend as a festival, no less). This year I stopped by for a late lunch on a September Sunday and had better luck. Their Prima Patata pizza was so delicious that I ordered it again when I was passing through town a week later. They have a decent drink selection as well, including the delicious Hot Lips soda from Portland. The restaurant is a little worn around the edges. It could use some better decor and some general sprucing up.

Our family of 4 went this evening and have nothing good to say. I don't even want to give it one star. We are trying to be understanding that the resort is jammed with visitors. However, there was definitely not enough staff on hand to deal with their dinner crowd. Our waitress seemed to have her hands full taking orders, making drinks, delivering food and clearing tables. She was very grumpy when she took our order but warmed up. We figured she had way too much to deal with. We waited almost 15 minutes after we were seated to have someone come back to our table with water. It took at least another 15 minutes for our 2 appetizers to show up. The fruit and cheese plate was a joke. The strawberries looked nasty and the pineapple looked browned and bruised. We had the waitress take it back and asked that we not receive a replacement. (They still charged us for it!) The fettucine alfredo was bland. I tried but had a difficult time eating my chicken parmesan. Everything is bland. It took at least 55 minutes for someone to come back and refill our water. Dirty appetizer dishes were left on our table through our meal even though we had stacked them nicely and moved them to the side of the table for easy pick up. I had glanced at reviews beforehand and was optimistically skeptical. This will most likely be our first and last visit. Save your $$ and eat at home or go to Sunriver Brewing.

First time here and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I had the linguini with clams and it was perfect. Service was excellent as well. Will be back the next time I come visit.

Good service, average food and strangely decorated back dining room...with a bit of a garage/basement vibe. We had a great server who was very attentive. The food did not inspire however. My chicken piccatta was ok, but the chicken was not thinly sliced/pounded as traditional. My husband's pasta was average with an overcooked/mushy pasta noodle, We did have a good bottle of wine which saved the day :-)

I feel bad giving the place a mediocre review, but despite the small size of Sunriver, Oregon, there are simply plenty of better places to eat. I suppose if you live somewhere with no decent Italian food, it might suffice, but sorry, no. The ambiance when you first walk in is a pleasant surprise given the exterior, which looks like a daycare or veterinarian. But we were seated in the back room, which was sparse enough to look like an afterthought add on. Ambiance requires visuals, sounds, smells. The place has some visuals (including very nice local photography), but smells and sounds? No music at all when we were there! Just sound bouncing around the hard high surfaces. Yuck. Slow service when we were there (dinner on a weekday night). Okay food, but not worth seeking out. Gnocchi was particularly poor--avoid it. The pizza was decent, and served our kid requirements. Good pour on the house wine. Overall: not Bad, but not good enough to bother choosing Marcello's unless you've run out of other choices in Sunriver.

Not the greatest atmosphere (in need of an ambiance update), ingredients were fairly bland, for example the alfredo sauce tasted very similar to the stuff I buy at the grocery store (it would be much better if made from scratch). Nothing was particularly bad, just nothing particularly stood out as being good.

Yummy!!! I always used to come here when I was a kid. Good service, great homecooked Italian, you can't do much better.....especially in Sunriver

pretty good food and reasonable prices for a resort town. Accomodated a large party without problem. Service was passable.

Staying at Sunriver and it was recommended by the local massage therapist. On a Wednesday night it was bustling but not overly busy. Outside dining atmosphere was pleasant. They have a kids books selection and crayons for your little ones (which if you have them you know is important :-) The menu is somewhat typical Italian, but also offers additional choices like pork and salmon. I had the salmon which had a lovely wine sauce, creamy mashed potatoes and broccoli. My family seemed to enjoy their mannocati and chicken marsala. What i'd like to RAVE about is the crosstini appetizer. Goat cheese, sun dried tomatoe, sugary roasted garlic cloves and a delightful olive tapanade surrounded by a fresh mound of greens and crusty bread. I could have eaten only this and been happy. It is a MUST! Decent wine list. I had the local oregon Pinot Gris which was refreshing and served at the right temperature. Not a drive out of your way place...but a highly enjoyeable experience.

Had dinner on Saturday night, the restaurant was full so we were offered seating in the lounge rather then wait 20 mins. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our waitress Mindy was very nice and friendly serving guests in the lounge as well as bartending. Our food was very good, tasted very fresh and cooked perfectly. We will definitely come back when we are in Sunriver!

    (4)
  • Miwako T.

We just drove in over the long weekend and they were only able to seat us in the lounge. Well, it wasn't as nice as the restaurant, which looks very nice, but the kiddy was hungry and it didn't matter. :-) He ordered a kids' meal (mushroom pizza (two kid-sized slices) and milk) and loved it. Adults loved the Gnocci appetizer!! The entrees were so-so. My husband, who isn't a big starch fun, ordered alfredo and thought it was bare. I ordered spaghetti w/ marinara sauce and the Italian sausage was grated very fine. Good service.

The restaurant has a happy hour. We sat in the bar our server was pleasant and had good knowledge of the local brews and their local wineries. Our appetizers we good. The meatballs were tough. The owner was sitting in the bar too. He was interactive with us.

I'd like to give this a higher review but for several reasons I'll stick with two stars for now. Starting with the good, I really like their bread. It's served warm, got great crust, while tender and moist inside. It's served with olive oil with dries herbs and a splash of balsamic vinegar. It was the highlight of my meal. I ordered a side Caesar salad. It was average at best, the dressing, claimed to be made with raw eggs, led me to believe it was house made. If so, it was ok, nothing special. The croutons, also boasted to be house made were bland and flavorless. The best part of the salad was the grated cheese on top. For my entree I ordered their Risotto Especial. The additions must change daily hence the daily especial in the description. The selection of ingredients sounded a bit unusual, but interesting; halibut, rockfish, artichoke hearts to name a few. That being said, the taste of the dish was pretty good. The presentation, served in a bowl was OK. But, the technique was substandard for any risotto I've ever had. This seemed OVERCOOKED and gloppy. More akin to a rice pudding or breakfast dish such as rice cereal. Maybe they had an off night, I don't know. I've read other reviews and most are complimentary of the risotto, so I hope it was just that; an off night for the chef. I just wish it hadn't happened when I chose to eat there and spend nearly $30.00 on an entree. We travel to the area annually so maybe I'll give them another chance next year.

I came here for a reprieve from staying in a house full of girls for a bit of quiet with my friend. Craving some Italian and some good wine I was hoping this would hit the spot. First, we ordered the daily bottle of wine. For $20 we were excited but asked the server to tell us about it. She said it was fruit forward and it was a mix of merlot, cab and pinot. I should've know better but I was so wanting wine that I overlooked the fact that that couldn't be possible. And it wasn't. The wine was harsh and acidic which we paid for later. Not impressed. The bread was good and the dinner was okay. I got the chicken marsala fettuccine and it was like Olive Garden quality. I wouldn't have minded except that the food was all overpriced. My friend liked her dinner as well. We skipped dessert but sat chatting for awhile. They were very nice and never pressured us to leave even though we were there past closing; classy move.

Have a wonderful halibut dinner with blueberry cream sauce tonight here! The mashed potatoes were yummy as was the steamed veggies! Definitely a finer dining restaurant getting you out of the bar food that seems to be in overabundance here in the village. Our waitress was amazing and friendly as well

  • William B.

Ok food. Mushroom ravioli and veal parm. Special margarita was just a regular margarita. Slow service. One of the waiters chatted with a table for about 15 min and another waiter was paying a lot of attention to friends. Sat outside on the patio which was nice. Probably won't return.

It's A Just Okay ...... I have had better Italian food. It is decent but you have no other real choices in Sunriver. Pleasant wait staff. We ordered calamari and it came in 2 minutes ... it was coldish and a very, spotty, small portion - looked like someone returned their order. It was chewy and sauces forgettable. They were kind and took it off the bill when we complained. The other dishes were okay but for the price ......... well ...... a bit spendy. Once it fills up it can be quite noisy. I think I will head over to the brew pub tonight for a nice burger and fries at a third of the cost. Oh well

  • Vilash K.

These guys are rude!!! They quoted us a 40 min wait and as we were walking out, we heard the quote a party with the same number of people a 20 min wait. How is this possible??? I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Good, for Sunriver. Marcello's is definitely one of the nicer options available in Sunriver (pretty limited). Their Italian is not authentic, but it's still good. We only went once so I can't speak to the consistent quality, as it seems other reviewers have had issues with. The staff is very nice, staying open later to accommodate guests and treating little kids perfectly. Greatly appreciated! The gnocchi appetizer was just ok - their gnocchi is not light and fluffy as it should be. The clam appetizer is quite good though is you enjoy seafood! The portobello ravioli were fairly good; not perfect, as it's definitely not house made pasta, but it's in a nice sauce and has a delicious filling. The calzone are HUGE! You could definitely share one and be fine. We had the Mediterranean one and it had really good sauce but the filling wasn't anything interesting. The crostini sides were nice, with some good olives and chèvre. The drink selections are great, for non-alcoholic as well. They have A blood orange Arianciata that is fantastic. Overall, it's the place to go for your "nice" dinner. It's not the place you'd go every night but it's good variety in Sunriver and quite good for Italian.

Good solid Italian fare in Sunriver. Veal parm was nicely prepared with grilled asparagus. Linguine puttinesca was good also - nice large portion. Capellini fruiti di mare was excellent. Will definitely come back next time we are in Sunriver.

Arrived without reservations on a very busy night and they worked very hard to seat us! Super nice staff! Ordered the risotto and it was cooked perfectly! Fettuccine Alfredo very good and the pork Osso Bucco was great! Lots of varied selections on menu with some fun cocktails! Loved the twist on the bruschetta - fig, arugula, Gorgonzola and honey drizzle - yummy! We even had a problem with a bottled of corked wine and was handled appropriately.

This is the very best Italian that we have ever had! The waitstaff and chefs deliver absolute perfection every time! Every menu selection is fabulous and the house made bleu cheese is unbelievable!

I've been to this restaurant a few times before in the past and thought it was really good. That is no longer the case. This was the last time I ate here. While the service was good, the food was not. I ordered a caprese salad to start with. I was really looking forward to creamy mozzarella and ripe tomatoes. What I got was store bought, chewy mozzarella and unripe tomatoes. It didn't sit well on my stomach. For the main course, I had salmon with pasta. The salmon was not fresh. It was fishy and not flaky. I didn't finish it. The pasta had too much olive oil in it, making it greasy. Greasy is not an adjective I like using for my pasta dishes. Sorry Marcello's, but I'm taking my business elsewhere. Your food is not up to standard.

How this place has fallen. I have been coming here every summer for years, and it used to be good, even very good, but since the recession the quality has declined precipitously. Of the 6 meals my family ordered (5 of us, I sent my first one back) only one was rated average- the Pork Osso Buco. I started with the Veal Marsala, served with garlic mashed potatoes and broccolini. If it was veal, it was the toughest driest piece of veal ever. I honestly don't think it was even veal. My guess is pork steak of some kind. It seemed to have been coated in glue, and was drowned in a Marsala sauce that was sickeningly sweet. The mashed potatoes contained under cooked chunks, suspended in a gluey mass. The broccolini was just steamed, and was fine but, had nothing done to transform it. I sent this back and ordered Linguine with Clam sauce. This was whole steamed clams with linguine drowning in a bowl of soupy sauce. At least it was edible, but not good. The service was not good, Of those of us that ordered Caesar salad, the waitress asked one of us if they wanted anchovies, and skipped the rest (we did). Then busser removed our plates without asking, and before I was done, not that it was a big loss.

This was my first visit, and not my last. The food menu was very creative and tasty just to read. It was hard to make up our minds. All four of us were delighted with the food and wine pairings. However, the great service, and professional manner we received from Peter was outstanding. He handles the tables and customers very well. Patrick J

My family and I (9 people total) went to Sunriver for the week and ate at Marcello's twice. The first time was excellent. The waitress was efficent, friendly, and knew the menu. They had crayons and kids menus, which always makes me and the kids happy. We sat outside on the patio which was a nice and relaxing exerpience. Our food was delicious and was timed perfectly. The bread came out first and is absolutely to die for. Homemade with oil and vinegar. YUM! We asked for a few more loaves which they happily obliged. The salad was very good too. Everyone loved what they ordered and said it was delicious. My daughter had the chicken strips and it was seriously some of the best breaded chicken I have ever had. The food i somewhat on the high end but normal for Sunriver resort area. We finished the evening off with Snickers Pie - which was so amazing it was devoured in minutes. The food was so great we came back two nights later. Completely different experience. The service was very slow despite the patio not being full. OUr waitress was nice and kept apologizing for the wait for our food but did not offer a discoun, dessert, t or comped meal. From the time we sat down to the time we received our entrees, it was an hour and twenty minutes. This was tough on our kids and tough on us. The food was still very good but we were not happy about the extremely long wait time to get our food. The live music on the patio was a nice touch. All told, we would give this place another chance but only if we had A LOT of time to kill.

My party of two dined here on a beautiful Saturday evening in Sunriver. Though we did not have a reservation at a busy time, we were warmly greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive without hovering. In fact, the service during our time here was better than the food. Not that the food was bad, but rather way mediocre for the price. The abbreviated wine list offered some good choices. My clams were just okay; the portion size a bit small. Dinner salad of fresh leafy greens was small- as was the size of the veal parmagiana. Also this was a little dry. I thought the red sauce was good whilst my companion thought his lasagna was too spicy and cheesy (sounds good to me though!). Though our expectations have been reset, we would probably try it again on our next visit.

  • Jim C.

I have no bad feelings for Marcello. The service is fantastic and friendly and the food is okay. There aren't really any outstanding restaurants in Sunriver, so we would come back here because it's fun and good enough but it isn't cuisine that is memorable. The lasagna was too cheesy and the tomato sauce was too pasty. Still, since there isn't a lot of choice in Sunriver, this isn't a bad alternative.

My husband and I visit Marcello's regularly when we vacation in the Sunriver area, and we're never disappointed. This 5-star rating applies not only to the food, but also to the wine selection and service as well. Make reservations in advance if you're traveling during the busy season - they fill up fast!

NEVER AGAIN. NO, NO, NO. We decided to go here with a group of 7 of us for New Years eve because we wanted to do something nice. We had heard good things about Marcello's in the past so thought we would give it a try. Big Mistake. I will just break it down as bluntly as possible: Ordered Calamari for the appetizer and it tasted like they had not changed the deep fryer oil in weeks. It was awful. I have never come across Calamari I didn't like. This was downright disgusting. Our waitress brought a soup and forgot two salads. When we kindly inquired about the salads she apologized saying "Oh sorry, I forgot. I am on drugs right now so I'm a little out of it. Don't worry though, they are not recreational". No joke, she actually said that. An hour after placing our initial order the salads finally showed up. The main course arrived roughly an hour and a half after we ordered. One of our group ordered the surf and turf and he said "it tastes like a burnt cigarette". Again, no joke. I took a bite myself and he was not lying. My wife order the fettuccine Alfredo. It was so bad she actually tried to send it back but the waitress who claimed to be high did not take it off the check. We had to go to the manager to have it removed. The pizza was terrible. I ordered a noodles and meat plate... it was actually good. The highlight of the night came when we were done and had finished up the check and our waitress brought drinks we had ordered half an hour earlier. We were trying to leave and she shows up with our drinks. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Our total check was just over $300. When you are paying that much you expect good food and good service. We had terrible food and even worse service. NEVER AGAIN. I hope this place goes out of business.

My wife and I had a great time and experience at Marcello's. I had an awesome filet w reduction and mushroom sauce. I substituted the mashed potatoes with polenta and it turned out to be one of the best meals I've had in years. Topped it off with a chocolate tiramisu. Kudos to the chef and staff.

This is not a pizzeria. Okay, they have pizza on the menu and you can get an order to take out, but it would be a shame to stop there It's an Italian restaurant, and a pretty good one at that. In business for 25 years means it's doing something right in this resort area. The dinner salads were good. I had just the house salad without dressing, so little for others to judge. My partner had the cesear salad -- good, although a little more galic would have kicked to the next level. I had the picatta, with salmon for the protein. (also option for chicken or veal.) The salmon was well-prepared, with al dente vegetales. My partner had the evening special - pasta al diavolo and that is what set this place apart. Ribbons of flavor, with good heat but not too much. The fresh slivers of bell peppers, basil, and onions added a crisp texture to the tomato cream sauce. They have a excellent wine cellar -- and not unreasonably priced. We enjoyed the service as well. Attentive without being overly so. Thanks Luis. We did not have a dessert.

My wife and I went to Marcello's on a Saturday night during the shoulder season in November. There was no wait; the dining room was half full at best. It is a cute little place, suitable for families and couples. The reason for the poor rating was the food. We ordered a margharita pizza that was the worst we had ever had, overflowing with chewy, tasteless cheese and hardly any basil at all. We also ordered the pasta carbonara that was also decidedly un-Italian. No eggs, no cheese, and way too many mushrooms in a runny sauce. We unfortunately will be going to Bend for good Italian food next time we're in Sunriver.

Wanted pizza to go in order to watch Monday night football after a long day of driving to Eugene and back. Marcello's was close to the resort so we gave it a try. Very pleasantly surprised. The gentleman who took my order was delightful. Pizza was on time, reasonably priced and quite excellent. Very fresh and satisfying. Would go there on my next trip back!

Fantastic food and wine (scallops, fresh baked bread). It was s quiet evening at the restaurant and service wasn't stellar but it wasn't horrible either.

No, no, no! Expensive and mediocre. Ordered pizza there. Crust undercooked (center was dough). Yuck.

This place looks like it's straight out of the 60s, with dated, cold interior and less than average food. We could practically hear the Sysco truck pulling up to the back door to offload the preformed pizza and bread dough for the "fresh baked bread." The minestrone soup was very acidic and barely lukewarm, and the pizza was like something you'd buy in the freezer at the grocery store, again barely lukewarm. Prices were too high for the quality of the food. Service was fine, if a bit slow. I wouldn't eat here again, just not that good.

Love this place, a warm family owned restaurant. We are locals and it is our first pick when taking out of town company to dinner, and we have never had any complaints. Love the manicotti.

The food was quite good - we were pleasantly surprised. We had a nice caprese, a spinach salad which was fresh and tasty, pasta alfredo, penne arrabiata (spicy! - but they said so), and penne puttanesca. The pasta was cooked just right (al dente) so that was a big plus. The wine was a good deal. The service was intermittent - and very slow at the end -- waited a long time for dessert and then check. We will likely go back this week. We ate on the patio and enjoyed it (until the sun went down -- take a sweater and consider wearing long pants).

Made it possible for my family to have dinner when no one else would actually made special arrangements for us to eat in the back room since they were book for the next 2 hours not suggesting they can do that every time but wow thank you for going out of your way to accommodate my family also food was great!!! Thank you!!

Ok food. Mushroom ravioli and veal parm. Special margarita was just a regular margarita. Slow service. One of the waiters chatted with a table for about 15 min and another waiter was paying a lot of attention to friends. Sat outside on the patio which was nice. Probably won't return.

Oh well

These guys are rude!!! They quoted us a 40 min wait and as we were walking out, we heard the quote a party with the same number of people a 20 min wait. How is this possible??? I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Patrick J

Oh well

Made it possible for my family to have dinner when no one else would actually made special arrangements for us to eat in the back room since they were book for the next 2 hours not suggesting they can do that every time but wow thank you for going out of your way to accommodate my family also food was great!!! Thank you!!

I'm baffled by the negative reviews of this place. My family went twice last week while we were in Sunriver on vacation and the food and service were incredible. Penne Carbonara and Linguini con Carne were awesome and my kids loved the pizza. By far the best meals we had in Sunriver.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
