Great food and fast with good prices. I have only eaten here once but it was recommended by someone who knows authentic Mexican and he said it was about as close as we can get here. I'll totally keep going back, and it's a refreshing change from the cookie cutter burrito places all over town!

Food was very good. Both my wife and I enjoyed our dishes. The food came out very fast perfect if you need a quick lunch. They did need reminding to bring out two items for our party of 6.

I work down the street and these guys have quickly become our shops go-to for a delicious, filling, quick meal. I've tried quite a few different menu items now and I have yet to be let down by anything. This place is great breakfast, lunch & dinner. Prices are fair and they even serve organic espresso and have a drive-thru. Definitely recommend. Best burrito in the area!

After no cell service or espresso access for 4 days this place was Heaven! Tacos and organic espresso!? Yes! Everything we tried was great! This would be out favorite place of we lived here! They recycle and have compost able cups! Go green! They also source all their ingredients locally, were in love with the food and their environmental ethics!

Great made from scratch burrito and horchata. All the reviews were correct. Everything was great. Not just a boring burrito. Lots of flavor!

This place is a delight. The food is great, the horchata is to die for, and the service is wonderful. All around is say "me encantó"

Ordered a Sausage breakfast burrito w/ no beans. The burrito size itself was an average size for 4.75. Taste was good, great ratios of cheese and sausage. The potatoes were a bit undercooked for my liking (personal preference), but not bad. red sauce was not the best I have had; I think it was too much chared flavor from the peppers in it for my taste. The service was great, the older lady behind the counter seemed to know all the regulars. Drive through is a great touch! I think this place is great, just not the best in town. I do think people should try this place at least once. I will probably come back occasionally since I do not live next to el taco grande near gateway anymore. Better than burrito amigos in a heartbeat!

Best carne asada tacos in the area hands down! That's all I've had there but I order from there at least twice a week!!!

These guys know me pretty well by now as I've been eating here about once a week for the better part of the last year. I covered the basics in my first review... but as a token gesture towards food -- want to not eat for three days (in the good way)? Come by on a Wednesday and score a giant wet burrito with all the trimmings for $5.75. What really makes El Pique great is that the entire staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. I don't know any of them outside of the restaurant, but every time I come in I feel like I'm getting a quick bite at a friend's place - not at some random taqueria on Main in Springfield. They've developed a pretty loyal following and I'm happy to count myself as one of their fans.

I usually don't write reviews for places but I just discovered El Pique today and saw it's super under represented on Yelp. Great place for some delicious mexican food. Far better than some of the more popular places in eugene.

Food is amazing. I recommend you try the BLT burrito. The staff is super friendly. Go there and you won't be disappointed.

If you leave this place hungry, it's your own fault! The portions are good sized and the food is that authentic Mexican we all crave! I wish chips and salsa were included, but I get it, I own a small business too. Also, not a fan of paper plates, but again, I totally get it. Neither of these is a deal breaker for me. I will eat here again.

I'm from San Diego, so I'd like to think that I have a decent idea of what a Carne a dada burrito tastes like. The burrito wasn't a carbon copy of what I'm used to by any means, but the taste was awesome and authentic. The woman serving me was also super nice, which never hurts. And tho some might think the red sauce is too mesquite tasting, it tasted just right to me. The only thing that was somewhat less than satisfying was the horchata. It was a bit on the sweet side. 4.5 stars to me in all.

The grilled tacos are amazing!!! Excellent food, but the staff is just outstanding. So sweet and kind. I wish they would open another in Eugene so I don't have to drive so far!

I have been getting food here for awhile, and I have yet to get anything other than a burrito I love them so much. It's so cheap for a giant burrito, and they use better ingredients then other restaurants who sell burritos for a similar price. The people that work there are also extremely friendly. I highly recommend it to anybody who likes Mexican food. I am going to make an effort to finally move to something else on the menu, but I am sure I will not be disappointed.

Kim and the staff are so lovely. They make you feel like family, and the food is always amazing. Their coffee is good too, the ice coffees are sweet but delicious. I think they're made with yogurt.

My new favorite! Love the people there and the food is so good.

Good all around Mexican food here. You have to try the tamale........you'll love it! I also enjoyed the chile relleno although mine was SO covered in green sauce(very mild) that it was hard to see where to cut it! The value for the dolled here is very good and I would recommend it for a "casual" Mexican food dining experience.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
